........................................................................
Harry walked down the corridor alone arguing internally with himself. A part of him wanted to apologize to Kakashi, and the other didn't. Kakashi had said some pretty harsh things as well, and had laughed at death (even if was just a spider). Harry was officially freaked out by Kakashi. Just a few minutes ago his suspicions about him were confirmed by Professor Moody. But why would Dumbledore hire a bodyguard, a murderer of all people and not tell him! Didn't Dumbledore trust him!
He didn't know what to do or what to think. He no longer felt in the mood to go to Professor Namikaze's class. One: because Kakashi would be there. Two: because it was Kakashi's Sensei's class! Lastly because he felt embarrassed about his outburst in DADA. However, he couldn't just ditch. He would have to go and face it, besides; now that he knew Kakashi was his bodyguard, he would get suspicious and have to look for Harry anyway. There was no way out if it.
Harry grudgingly made his way to Professor Namikaze's classroom. Everyone was already seated whispering in hushed tones when he walked in. As he passed the desks, everyone went quiet. As fate would have it the only seat available was right next to Kakashi, who was wearing the mask he wears over his face when he's in the Common Room.
Professor Namikaze stood up from behind his desk in one swift moment. Harry saw Kakashi straighten up in his seat from the corner of his eye.
"Ohiyo! I am Minato Namikaze, but you will address me as Minato Sensei. I know that a lot of you have been looking forward to what I will be teaching this year, but here pretty soon you are going to wish you hadn't. I was given permission by Dumbledore-sama to teach anything I wanted. So, if you find that my style of teaching is unpleasant, then that is your problem." Minato Sensei said.
Harry was taken back by his speech, from what he had gathered, Minato Sensei was a bright cheery man. He now had this firm demanding presence that made all the students cower in their seats.
"I am going to instruct you all in the same manner that I teach my own students. It will be rough and at times you will want to give up, but I have faith in you. I have only had to teach two thing in my life, and those are 'How to survive' and 'Teamwork'."
Hermione raised her hand, Minato Sensei looked at her kindly and she spoke.
"Minato Sensei. Are you saying that you are going to instruct us on the same material as Defence Against the Dark Arts?"
"Good question. No, this is not a DADA class, that requires magic. I am going to teach you how to defend yourself without magic. Or at least without the use of your wands. This is as much an experiment for you as it is an experiment for me." Minato Sensei said.
There were a lot of whispers circilulating the room, everyone was shocked by this information.
"Your going to teach us how to protect ourselves without magic?! I bet that's only because you can't use magic! You squib!" Malfoy sneered.
In less than a second, Minato Sensei disappeared. Everyone looked around the room frantically, until they saw him perched on top of Malfoys desk. Which was in the back row of the classroom. Harry hadn't even seen the man move, it had all happened in an instant. Malfoy looked up towards Minato Sensei, fear etched on his face.
"You shall all come to learn that I don't assign homework or give detention. Oh no, my punishments are much worse. Meet me outside by the lake in 5 minutes so that we may have our lesson, anyone who is late will suffer the consequences." Minato Sensei said as he disappeared again.
Everyone stood up quickly not wanting to know what the punishment would be. Harry, Ron and Hermione all ran towards the lake, which was on the opposite side of where they were. Harry couldn't see Kakashi through the horde of students.
Everyone arrived at the lake exhausted, some students were laying down on the cool grass panting. Kakashi had beat everyone, waiting right next to Minato Sensei. Harry didn't know how that was possible, unless he used the same technique as Minato Sensei.
"You guys are lucky compared to the other classes because you will all have a better demonstration of what you will be learning. Kakashi will not be participating as a student, but as my aid. Now, I already know that you are all capable of learning one of the three fighting styles. The other two, I'm not so sure of. I don't know how a wizards body compares to a Shinobi's body. The first thing you shall learn is Taijutsu, or to your understanding, hand to hand combat."
There was a collection of gasps from the group, and one or two groans.
"But Minato Sensei, students are not allowed to fight in such matter, or any matter at all." Hermione said.
"That didn't seem to stop Mr. Malfoy. Besides, as I said before, I was given permission by Professor Dumbledore to teach anything I wanted. So again, if you find that my style of teaching is disturbing or against school policy, then that is your problem." He said with a smile that sent shivers down their backs.
"Kakashi and I shall demonstrate these 3 fighting styles one at a time. The first being Taijustu, the second Ninjustu, and the third is Genjustu. For the demonstration I suggest that you back up, unless you want to get hurt." Minato said.
Once Minato was sure that the class was a safe distance away he motioned for Kakashi to get into position.
Minato Sensei and Kakashi were about 5 feet away from each other, a third of the distance that wizards use to duel. Harry noticed that there was no respectful bow or any sign that the fight had commenced. Minato ran towards Kakashi at a an inhuman speed, Harry felt worried that Kakashi wouldn't be able to keep up, however, as soon as Minato reached out to strike, Kakashi barley moved half a foot to avoid the blow. Reaching out to grab Minato's arm in a tight grip. Kakashi pulled Minato's weight down to propel himself up into the air. Kakashi tucked in his body to increase his velocity, sticking his leg out to crush Minato with the force of the imact. But before Kakashi could make the hit, Minato lunged backwards a couple yards.
Harry didn't know how someone could jump or push their body to such great distances. It all seemed impossible. Kakashi and Minato were now locked in close combat, each throwing a kick or punch in fluid motion, all while being able to evade the others attack. Of what he could tell, only a few hits made there mark. They were both quick in their movements, Harry and the others could barely keep up with the fight. They looked like two fast blurs, the only sound he could hear was paced, heavy breathing and the occasional sound of flesh hitting flesh.
The battle continued that way for a few more minutes, when all of a sudden both parties drew out weapons. Harry saw they were small hand crafted knives, that fit awkwardly in the hand. Hermione gasped as they clashed together, the sound of the two blades ringing in their ears. Minato managed to cut a deep gash in Kakashi's right bicept, blood poured out of the wound onto the vibrant green grass. Kakashi moved his blade to his left hand, unable to fully use the right. Harry didn't think that the scrimmage would get so violent, he also didn't expect it to be so thorough. He thought that it would be a slow, simple demonstration, not an all out war!
The fight between Kakashi and Minato ended in a flash, Kakashi had his blade firmly pressed up against Minato Sensei's throat, a drop of blood slowly slid down his neck, while his arm was locked in Kakashi's grip behind his back.
No one clapped, or cheered, they all just sat there with their jaws hanging down. Shocked expressions etched on their faces. The female population of the class had their hands firmly clapped over their mouths, stopping their worried cries from escaping.
Harry had thought Professor Moody's class was violent, this seemed far worse and they were only a third of the way through the demostration.
"Nice job, Kakashi." Minato Sensei praised as he was released from Kakashi's death grip... literally. "The second fighting style, Ninjutsu, I will have to see if you can learn. To you it would be considered a type of wandless magic. This technique requires an energy called chakra. Which is an energy I'm not sure if wizards poses." He said while absent mindedly rubbing his neck.
"Wandless' magic! But that's impossible!" Hermione exclaimed.
"Wizards use wands as an amplifier to manipulate energy, known as magic. Shinobi do not need an amplifier to control our abilities, our bodies host and control our own energy known as chakra." Minato explained.
"What exactly is chakra?" Ron asked.
"Chakra is form of life energy that all individuals produce to some degree, if you run out of Chakra, you will die. It is produced within the "chakra coils" that mainly surround and connect to each chakra-producing organ, the energy circulates throughout the body in a network called the "Chakra Pathway System", which is similar to the cardiovascular system. Certain groups, such as shinobi, have learned to generate more chakra and release it outside their bodies through pressure points called tenketsu in order to perform jutsu." Minato said.
Everyone seemed to somewhat grasp the concept of chakra. Hermione, to Harry's amusement, was leaning over looking at Minato Sensei intently, trying to absorb whatever information she could about chakra.
Harry realized that Minato Sensei had said the word jutsu, and remembered Professor Trelawney's words about Kakashi.
You are he who has mastered over 1,000 jutsu's, and who can see things the naked eye cannot even fathom.
Harry was looking forward to a domontration of jutsu's, even though he had no idea what it was.
This time, Kakashi and Minato Sensei were about 30 feet apart. This had Harry's interest peaked. Then simultaneously, the two Shinobi started making quick fast symbols and shapes with their hands, that looked like sign language. The speed of their hand movements was phenomenal. Then, both stopping at once said an incantation that was different from each other.
"Bashōsen: Kaze no Maki (Palm Hand: Coil of Wind)" Minato Sensei yelled.
"Katon: Gōkakyū no Jutsu (Fire stlye: Fireball Jutsu)." Kakashi said.
A large torpedo of wind shot straight out of Minato Sensei's palm, heading straight for Kakashi, who shot a large fireball out of his... mouth? Everyone watched in awe as the two performed breathtaking (but very dangerous) jutsu's. Kakashi's breath of fire easily overpowered Minato Sensei's wind attack, knocking the Jounin back a couple of feet, his skin slightly burned. Before Kakashi had the chance to conjure another jutsu, Minato Sensei formed hand signs and slammed his hand on the ground. Causing a giant dragon to come up out of the Earth made of stone.
"Doton: Dosekiryū (Earth Release: Earth and Stone Dragon)" Minato Sensei exclaimed loudly. The dragon charged at Kakashi, hitting him straight on, Kakashi's midsection was pouring out blood. Hermione and a couple of others screamed frantically. Kakashi's body slammed into the ground hard, turning into a puddle of water. Harry looked around confused, Kakashi turned into water! Out of the corner of his eye he saw Kakashi standing on top of the water, uninjured! Kakashi had his hands together with the index and middle fingers pointing up, and like Minato Sensei's jutsu, a water dragon appeared. However, in the water of the dragon you could see currents of lightning.
"Raisuiryūdan! (Lightning Water Dragon)" Kakashi yelled.
The two dragons coiled around each other, the stone dragon deteriorating under the energy of the lightning water dragon, until it was completely destroyed.
Kakashi ran on the surface of the water and if you looked closely enough, you could see a blue light emanating the bottom of his feet. Minato Sensei then joined Kakashi on the water. The students comming closer to get a better view.
Then Kakashi lifted up his headband, reveiling his scared eye. Harry, Ron and Hermione watched him closely as he opened the lid reveiling a blood red eye. The like of which Harry had never seen. The eye had three toggles circulating around the eye. Both then started another frenzy of hand signs, Harry couldn't keep up with the speed with accuaracy.
"RASENGAN!"
"CHIDORI!"
In Minato's palm, was a sphere of energy, spinning a million times per second. The power of the jutsu caused the water around Minato to seize up, splashing the onlooking crowed with water. Similarly in Kakashi's palm was a more sporadic and uncontrolled energy, exactly like lightning. The sound of the condensed chakra in his hands sounded like a thousand chirping birds.
The two charged towards each other connecting their palms in a matter of seconds. The explosion that took place knocked everyone back, splashing more water onto them. Harry quickly sat up to see the end results. Minato was standing behind Kakashi facing away from him, undamaged. Kakashi was kneeling down on one knee, cradling his right arm. Harry took a closer at his arm and gasped. The material around Kakashi's forearm was ripped to shreds, reveiling a bloodied and torn up appendage.
Both were breathing heavily and Kakashi stood up to bow to Minato Sensei, who mirrored action towards Kakashi. They walked back to the shore of the lake and was greeted by the horde of excited students.
"That was bloody wicked!!!" Ron exclaimed, the others surrounding were nodding their heads excidedly.
"So, what Kakashi and I just demonstrated is called ninjutsu. The hand movements used to perform the jutsu's are called hand seals. So like how wizards have to flick their wands a certain way to get a certain result is similar in nature. The exact amount of chakra necessary to perform a technique is manipulated through these hand seals." Minato Sensei explained.
Harry watched Kakashi wrap his arm, wincing occasionally. Kakashi looked up at Harry, his red eye piercing right through him. Harry felt uncomfortable under the gaze and tried to look away, but the red eye had him frozen in fear. He had been curious to know what lay beneath it, but now he wished he had never seen it.
"Kakashi, is your arm all right?" Hermione asked pulling Harry out of his thoughts. When Kakashi looked up at her, she had a similar reaction to Harry. She froze in place, fear etched into her features. Kakashi saw this and pulled the haite-ate down over it.
"It'll be alright. Don't worry, I will have Madame Pomfrey take a look at it." He said trying to reassure her.
"Kakashi, what is that eye?" Hermione asked quietly.
"Sharingan. It allows the user to see through all three types of jutsu's: Taijutsu, ninjutsu and genjustu. It also allows us to see the flow and movement of chakra. Lastly, it has powerful genjutsu abilities, which you shall understand in a moment." He kindly explained to her.
"You should go to the Hospital Wing now, Kakashi. You've already bled through the bandages." She said sternly. Kakashi looked down at his hand and sure enough, blood was dripping down out of the wrappings. He moved his left hand over the top of the injured arm and Hermione watched as he released a green glow from the palm of his hand. The flow of blood stopped instantly to Hermione's surprise.
"What did you do?"
"Ninjutsu isn't just used for combat purposes. It can be used for healing as well. It's more difficult to master that combat ninjutsu because it requires perfect chakra control. If you are enable to have perfect chakra control when healing someone, then they will die." He said.
"Alright everybody, last but not least: genjutsu. I am not proficient in genjustu so Kakashi shall demonstrate." Minato Sensei said. Harry was surprised that this was a technique that Minato Sensei could not do, it was not typical to have an instructor who can admit their weaknesses. Harry was really starting to like Minato Sensei.
"To explain, genjutsu is a visual jutsu. It is used to disturb the enemies mind, giving one time to defeat them. Since you will not be able to comprehend if Kakashi performs it on me, he shall envelope all of you in a genjutsu. Don't worry, this will not be dangerous." Minato said while trying to reassure the group. Considering that the previous demonstrations had been so violent. The cluster of students looked unsure but agreed anyway, their curiosity clouding their logic.
Kakashi moved in front of them, lifting his Haite-ate, once again reveiling the sickening blood red eye.
Harry didn't know what was happening at first, the sensation of floating in midair overcame him. He felt warm, happy and free. All the problems going on his life seemed to just disapeare. Then, falling. He fell down, fear entering into his mind. He landed unceremoniously onto his bed back at the Dursleys, Harry frantically looked around the room, confused as to why he was here in this horrible place. He walked to the door and turned the handle, stepping into the Chamber of Secrets. The walls were covered in muck and the stench of death entered his nose, it was worse than he remembered, causing him to gag. Then the view in front of him changed, reveiling the Shrinking Shack. Peter Petigrew stood in front of him, Harry reached out to grab the man who had betrayed his parents. But no matter how hard he tried, he couldn't reach Petigrew. Anger swelled up in the pit of his stomach as he fought to get to the rat man, he yelled in anger and defeat, slumping down onto the ground. Harry once again found himself somewhere else, he looked around and saw the Mirror of Erised. In the reflection of the mirror he saw himself standing with Ron and Hermione next to him. Hermione holding his hand gently while Ron had his arm wrapped around his shoulder. The three of them looked so happy and content. Then a fourth person entered the view.... It was Kakashi. He stood along side them, with a smile on his face. Harry had never seen the boy smile, he had never seen him happy before. Joy filled Harry's heart, he wanted this to be real. He had said a lot of cruel things to Kakashi in Moody's class, and he now wanted to make it right. He felt that a friendship between himself and Kakashi would be just as grand as his friendship with Ron and Hermione. And just as quickly as the happiness came, it left... fleating.
Harry was released of the genjutsu with everyone else, the lake comming into view. Ron and Hermione looked like they had experienced something similar to Harry, both looking exhausted. Kakashi collapsed onto his back panting heavily. Minato Sensei moved over to the boys side picking him up into his arms, cradling Kakashi into his chest bridal style.
"Alright, class is over. Meet here next time as well, we will not be using the classroom a lot. Also I suggest bringing more flexible clothing." Minato Sensei informed.
Minato walked back towards the castle with Kakashi in his arms, he noticed Harry trailing behind him.
"Minato Sensei? Is... is Kakashi going to be alright?" Harry asked. Minato walked inside the classroom and made his way over to his office. He motioned for Harry to follow him, which he complied. Harry watched Minato place Kakashi on the large black sofa, brushing the boys silver hair out of his eyes.
"He will be alright. He will be out of it for a couple of days, so it's a good thing it's the start of the weekend." Minato answered.
"Why is it that he is exhausted and you are not?"
"The Sharingan eye is a powerful Shinobi tool, that takes up a lot of chakra. He does not have the body compatible to complement the eye." Minato explained.
"But it's his eye isn't it? How does he not have a compatible body?" Harry asked confused.
"Because it is not his eye." Minato Sensei said looking at Harry, who seemed to be even more confused. Minato Sensei sighed and continued.
"As I know you have found out from Professor Moody, Kakashi and I were in a war not to long ago. I used to have three students, two of whom were killed in said war." Minato said gravely. Harry's heart pained with sadness at hearing this.
"Kakashi was severely injured in a battle when I was at the front. Their teammate Rin had been captured by Iwa-nin so he and my other student Obito, went to rescue her. The injury caused Kakashi to loose his left eye." Minato said while moving Kakashi's haite-ate to give Harry a view of the injury.
"Due to Kakashi's recent handicap, he failed to maneuver out of the way of falling debree and was saved by Obito. Who as a result had his entire right side crushed."
Harry remembered Kakashi's words during DADA, "You don't know what it's like to see your best friend be crushed by a boulder, mangling his body!"
"The Sharingan is a Kekke Genkai, or in your tongue, a blood limit that only the Uchiha Clan can develop. Obito, was an Uchiha. So, as Obito's last dying wish, he gifted Kakashi with his own Sharingan eye, to replace the eye he had lost." Minato said.
Harry couldn't even emagin how Kakashi must feel, to have to carry his dead best friends eye, only because said friend wished him to. Harry looked down at the sleeping boy on the sofa, sadness filling his heart that made him nauseous.
"Harry" Minato Sensei said. "I told you this because I want you to understand, and because I trust you. Don't make me loose that trust, alright?" Minato said peering deep into Harry's soul. Harry nodded his head to Minato Sensei, who smiled back at him.

That night, Kakashi was able to return to the Common Room. However, all he was able to do was lay in bed. Harry noticed a cute brown pug snuggling next to him.
"Kakashi." Harry said.
Kakashi looked up at Harry from the book he was reading in Japanese and gestured for him to continue.
"I am sorry for what I said about you and your parents." Harry said, remorse laid heavily in his tone. Kakashi seemed to size him up, then smiled a small smile.
"I'm sorry too Potter." Kakashi said back.
