Day 3: Your Favourite Beatles Film
To me, not that much of a contest.
I get that the first one really showed the boys, which actually helped me understand how to write them and got me to you guys, but I like Help (!).
There's just something about it, which is lame but whatevah.
I just like that it follows a story that's so out of the blue.
(Well, it might not be out of the blue because it could be a really odd reference to when the Middle Eastern countries that had a surplus (still do!) of oil and sold it quite cheaply to the US, France and the UK. Then all of a sudden, or not, I kinda forgot, they jack up the price which freaks the three countries out and sends them into a bit of a recession. Might explain the Bea-atles and other weird stereotypes. Or that it was the 60's.)
Rather than a Hard Day's Night which seemed like an only slight dramatization of how the Beatles go about things (like . . . slight), it was more movie than documentary with a script.
That it was in color was also pretty cool to me, since it wasn't too far off from A Hard Day's Night, which as someone studying history, allowed me to really notice the huge changes that happened over a relatively short period of time.
And the tiny Paulie! Who can forget tiny Paulie!
