"Ow... Hey there lil red..." "CONGRATULATIONS!" Ruby screams and stands up. "Hehe. Sorry about that handsome... I didn't know my lil sis is going to run off like that." The yellow haired lady playfully said. 'Is the blonde trying to hit on me? Or is she trying to apologize because I swore I saw her wink at me'

"Umm... That's okay. She's still young... And did you just wink at me?" I said to her as Ruby hung on my waist.

~An Hour and A Half Ago~

Ruby's P.O.V

Me, Yang, Weiss, Blake, Jaune, Pyrrha, Nora And Ren finished our battle with the grimm. Which means "WE PASSED!" I squealed and jump around gaining the attention of the seven others walking with me.

"OH MY GOD! THIS IS AMAZING!" Me and Nora screamed, earning a laugh from Yang and Jaune and a giggle from Pyrrha and Ren while Blake smiled and Weiss just have no emotions on her face. 'I mean why is she so upset, We just got accepted into the most prestigous Academy on Remnant! Finally, my dream to be one of those Huntsman and Huntresses in the comics will become a reality.'

"Ohh, I'm so proud of you, lil sis! I know Dad will be proud of you!" She hugged me and after she pulled out. "Miss Rose." I turned around and found out the voice that called my name is Professor Ozpin. "Oh! Professor! Hi!" "Congratulations for passing the test but if you would, please accompany me. I have something that I would like to discuss with you." He asked and I nodded. As we walk away I look back at my sister, she was smiling and giving me a thumbs up. I smiled back before looking up at Professor Ozpin.

"What would you like to discuss about, Professor?" My curiosity can't hold itself back anymore. He sighed and smiled at me. "Always the impatient one, just like your mother." I just tilted my head, confused. 'Why is he talking about my mom?' He stopped walking because we arrived at the cliff that we were launched from and said "i just thought you would like to watch Mister (L/N)'s progress with me, that's all." He pulled out his tablet and started tapping on it before a live feed video of (Y/N) came out. He was riding on an Ursa with the purpled hair lady from yesterday. (Y/N) then yanked on the whip bringing the Ursa to a halt as it fell on its belly. The lady pulled out her dagger and I assume she is going to kill it... But (Y/N) did a suprising thing. He stopped her. His mouth started talking but there is no audio as he crouch down, pulled out a water bottle and let the grimm drink from it as I watch him rub it head.

"He is just full of surprises isn't he Miss Rose." "Uhm, I never knew people can do that. He looks nice and handsome" I didn't notice my cheeks heat up and I kept on watching (Y/N) as he sat down and hugged the ursa. 'Wow he really is the nicest guy in the world.' It wasn't long after the lady came back with the relic in hand and they watch the grimm go into the forest.

"Well then, Miss Rose. Let's get to the ceremony. We wouldn't want your crush waiting would we?" My cheeks went redder and I pulled my cape to hide my face. "I-I d-don't have a cr-crush on him. He's handsome and cute and frien..." I said and trailed off as I remember his warming smile. He chuckled and replied. "Ahh young love... The one thing this old man has yet to fully embrace. Come young Miss Rose." He started walking and I happily skipped after him.

TIMESKIP to Present Tense (Cuz I'm Lazy)

He just said 'I can hug him all the time because I'm young!' The first time in my life that I can do something without being questioned because of my young age and 'I love it!'.

I squeezed him harder without realizing and he started tapping my back furiously. But I squeezed him even more. "Ruby! You're killing him!" And finally let go because I was pulled back by Yang.

"Woo!" He panted heavily. "That's... some strong... huggin' you got there Miss..." He said between pauses. Then he closed his eyes

Timeskip
Third Person P.O.V

(Y/N) opened his eyes and noticed the scenery changed. He Sat up, looked around but suddenly felt a sharp drilling pain in his head as he almost fall off the bed.

"What in hell happe-" He cut himself short as he remembered passing out by Ruby's killer hug. "Ooohh that hug. Huh... Welp better get a move on if I wanna know where the hell I am" but then a faint black mist appeared in the room but was not noticed by the oblivious ranger as he opens the door and steps out. "Hmm... Wonder where's my gun... If there's a single scratch on it. I'll kill em."

(Y/N) wanders the building trying to find the exit but to no avail. "Who the hell designed this place?! It's a goddamn maze!" He wanders a bit more before an idea smacks him in the face. "Why didn't I think of this earlier? Dumbass brain..." He pulls out his scroll and a device that he plugs it on the scroll.

"Eden, a lil help please?" (Y/N) said and a hologram of a lady pops out. "Good Evening Master, how may I help you?" The man rolls his eyes in annoyance and speaks. "I told you not to call me that Eden." The hologram just giggle as her attempt to annoy the ranger was a success. "Why? Are you not into that stuff?" She said playfully "No! And this is not why I ask for your help!" He shouted at the hologram. "What if I change into this girl?" As she turned into Ruby making the ranger blush. "Change back! And how did you know that I sorta like her?" Eden changed back "I monitor your vital signs and brain pulses all the time remember?" She waves innocently at the flustered male.

"Anyways... Can you help me get out of here?" Eden just smiled. "What's the magic woord?" Cupping her holographic ears and the male rolled his eyes knowing that she won't help until he say it. "Can you help me... Please?" She nodded. "That's much better... Now, just go straight and take the left hallway." He started walking and talked to the AI about small things until,

"(Y/N)?" "Hmm?" The ranger raised his eyebrow. "Do you like having me around?" (Y/N) stopped walking, confused. "Where did this come from?" Eden just look down. "It's just... That you have a lot more people with you now... And I'm just... Afraid that you'll forget about me..." She playing with holo fingers and her head down. "Don't worry... I won't forget you. I already got plans for your new look!" Eden just look up at his face, confused. "It's a surprise! Good thing you can't look into my memory... Or my current thought." He smiled at her. "Now come on... I'm hungry and tired. You know how I am when I hungry." The ranger said jokingly as she starts to smile again. "Okay! The exit is just in the next turn."

~Ten Minutes Later~

"WE MADE IT! YEAH!" (Y/N) barges through the cafeteria doors, yelling and grabbing the attention of the whole crowd of people in the place.

He quickly composes himself and picked up a tray of food. He walk around until he heard somebody called his name and he saw Jaune waving his hand at him. He walked over to Jaune's table and saw two teams of four sitting but noticed Ashley wasn't here.

"Howdy..." The ranger greeted and they all greeted back by saying "Hi!" , nodding or a wave. "Where have you been?! I mean I know you went to the infirmary and all but you missed the rest of yesterday!" Yang Asked. He shrugged and said "Huh... I was out for that long. Guess you are stronger that you look Ruby..." The little red girl just chuckle lightly and smiled a bit.

(Y/N) noticed it and thought that she must be trying to figure out a way to apologize him. "No need to worry bout me Ruby, I'm fine..." She looked up at him. "But.. But you passed out... Because of me.." He just grinned at her and said he was surprised that she was able to make him pass out and he changed places and sat next to the red girl. "You hugged me! And Now You Must Be Hugged Back!" He growled smiling. "GET OVER HERE." And gave her a big bear hug.

Ruby froze and instantly turned red. The others watched with shocked expressions except for Yang who was glaring at you. A minute passed and (Y/N) finally let her go because of your scroll vibrating. You pulled it out and see that Eden was telling you to put on your ear pods.

You searched for the ear pods (those earphones that has no wires thing... I think) in the pockets of your slacks. Once you found it, you plugged it in your ears. "Your ears was about to bleed again." Eden's voice came out. "Oh thanks Eden." You said out loud. "And Ashley is approaching fast. And I'm reading signs of worry in her." You were shocked at her words.

"How are you tracking her?!" You said loudly making the other eight people confused as to what you are talking about and who you're talking to. "I hacked into her scroll... Easy stuff." She casually said like it's no big deal and then Jaune decided to ask.

"Who are you talking to and why are you tracking people?" You looked at them and "Eden got this big idea to track Ashley's scroll for some odd reason!" You realized your outburst of Eden's identity and quickly shutting your mouth whilst you started running to the exit. "Shit... they gonna be asking questions now... arggh dammit!" You scolded yourself, which made Eden ask you why is it so important as to why her identity need to be hidden. "Like I said, I need to finish your surprise first and then we can introduced you to everybody... It's not long now before it's do-" You were cut off because somebody crash into you but your instincts came in as you grab the person and you slam your back to the floor with the person on top.

"I'm sorry! Here let me hel-" She said as she was about to help you up but suddenly stop. You look up and saw it was Ashley. "Uh... Hey there..." And you got yourself up from the hard floor. "Where have you been? I was looking for you." She asked and pulled her face mask down. "I was uhh... I was going to get some fresh air! Yeah..." You lied to her even though you hated lying. "Okay... Um.. I just wanted to tell you that our dorm room is number 159, that's all." You thanked her and she went her way while you turned around.

"Hey Eden?" You started. "Why did you track her?" Silence... "Eden, Eden? Hello, you there?" You call for her, tapping you earpods. "Oh... Uh.. I just thought that you'd like to know where she is, you know... Since she's your teammate now and all." She answered which made you feel much more uncomfortable. "We need to ask for permission first because it's gonna be creepy." You scolded her for her creepy-ness. You walked and walked until you arrived at Ozpin's tower.

"Hey (Y/N), why are we here?" Eden asked as she can detect his position infront of the tower. "You mean why am I here?" You asked back. "Hey! I'm still with you now ain't I?" She shot back angrily. "Yeah, yeah... By the way, what is the date today?" You asked her whilst you walk into the elevator and pushed for the top button. "February 1st, why do you ask?" You figured she's forget even though she's an A.I . "Check your database for this date a few years back." He said as the elevator dinged meaning he have reached Ozpin's office.

"Good Afternoon, Professor Oz. Are you busy at the moment?" You greeted and ask the headmaster. While Eden warned you about her reading signs of magic both on Ozpin and underneath them somewhere. "Ah! Good afternoon, Mister (Y/N)! What do I owe you this pleasure of a visit?" He greeted back and motion his hand to grab a seat. "I know that it's still early but I actually need a favor from you, Professor."

~Twenty Minutes Later~

"Ahh... I see. You may go but with one condition." Ozpin said. "Just say it and we'll be in agreement." The young ranger states as he prepares to get up. "Your team will accompany me to meet the village head as my escort, I need it to look official." You were confused as to why the headmaster wants to meet the village leader but you were even more confused as to why they were picked in place of Miss Goodwitch. So (Y/N) decided to ask.

"Why pick us to escort you instead of Professor Goodwitch?" And the old man replied with a smile as he motions you to follow him to the window. You obeyed him and got up to the window next to him. He seems to be looking down at something, so you followed his gaze to see a smiling Miss Goodwitch and a friendly looking guy in a suit which you presume is a teacher in Beacon. Plus that teacher looks pretty suave. You instantly knew the reason as to why he did it. He wanted Miss Goodwitch to spend more time with that man. You knew that Miss Goodwitch hardly smiles and can be cold sometimes by what Eden can gather about her.

"You know what Professor Ozpin! Consider it done!"

Timeskip

Ashley's P.O.V

I am currently in a bullhead for a village called Rooster Edge. I was so confused when (Y/N) barged in our room yelling that we have ten minutes to get ready for a trip. I remembered asking him where are we going and he simply answered with the village's name. I mean 'Come On' just two days in and were already on a mission, we didn't even have the time to start rearranging our dorm room yet.

What got me even more thinking is why the headmaster is with us. I nudged my partner who seems to be spacing out back into reality and used hand signs to see if he understands. After I did it, he nodded and responded back in hand signs too meaning he knows that I want to talk to him privately without anyone listening.

"<Why is the headmaster here?>" I asked and he responded with "<He said that he needs to meet with the village leader.>" I just sat there thinking and finally responded with another question as we talk using the hand sign languange. "<Then why are we here?>" I saw him moved his hands about to answer but Professor Ozpin startled me by answer the question. "Your team is to be my escort so we can show the village that it's real official bussiness and not some Impostor a joke." I look at (Y/N) his face showing a shocked expression.

"We didn't know you can understand what we were talking about... Well enough about that, why don't you tell us who that teacher I saw with Professor Goodwitch is?" (Y/N) questioned the Headmaster and He nodded. "His name is Professor Adris. Your philosophy teacher." I remained quiet as per usual and listened to their conversation. "He used to be Miss Goodwitch's teammate back when they were young." He stopped and then (Y/N) asked another question when the bulkhead started to change.

Suddenly, I am in a burning village, weapons drawn. (Y/N) Slater by my side with his crimson red katana covered with his blood as he use it to dispatch the flooding grimm in hopes of buying enough time for the villagers to escape.

I shot my Screaming Crimson at a pack of beowolves, killing them immediately. I put my shotgun away to switch for my daggers. I jumped around slashing an Ursa but It barely flinched. I shot one of it's eye and it roared at me. In a blink of an eye, I was on the ground bleeding. A boarbatusk looking at me a few feet away with some blood on it's tusk. Moments later, The Slater was right next to me, cradling my shaking figure in his arms with tears threatening to fall anymore than it should. I heard him talking about getting me to safety and him staying alone. I argued with him but then his soft lips touched mine, silencing me. I closed my eyes and kissed back.

   I felt something warm surrounding me and opened my eyes after what seemed to be an eternity but I didn't see the battle worn face of the (Y/N) that kissed me. I saw a face of peaceful bliss of a hat-less sleeping ranger who is (Y/N) beside me. I realized that it was the same exact dream on the night I met the (Y/N) (L/N). I also just realized that we are leaning on each other. I love this feeling but at the same time I am scared of it.

     I looked around and saw Ozpin walking into the waiting room from the cockpit. He looked at me and said "We are about to arrive at the village. Will you please wake him up and oh! Before I forget you are a team rather partners. So don't expect him to be like Mister Slater, please..." As soon as he said Slater I froze up. "How did you know about him?" He simply answer with "I know of the tragedy that happened two years ago in that village. He was a great man and he will be remembered for his deeds but do not compare the two. Just help each other to forgive and forget. Plus I think he likes you very much as much as you do. Don't they Mister Slater." A black mist reappeared and morphed into the figure of (Y/N) Slater.

   "Hey there Ash. It's been two days, so how you've been?" I just stared at him. I don't really know what to say. "Thanks, Mister Ozpin. And you, Miss Somemoer need to step up your game on your seducing skills. Hehe I know your moves caught my eyes." He grinned as Professor Ozpin chuckled. "I will go talk to the pilot and you two discuss your plans. Oh and let this be our secret."

   "Soo how did you get here?" I asked first. "He called me and both of us know how he did it." Ohh... I remember getting detailed information from infiltrating Haven Academy Head Office with HIM back then so that's what it meant by Extraordinary abilities. So I nodded "Okay, I don't have much time here... Soo you need to remember what you did to me and then maybe you can just repeat to him. First we need to know what he likes!" He said excited and she giggled at his attitude. "You're very excited to do girl-talk with me for a guy, deadman." He beams a huge smile.

~Ten Minutes Later~

    After a while of just having a conversation with HIM and getting to know the sleeping (Y/N) because 'Mister Ghosty been stalking his dopleganger for a while for some reason'.

    (Y/N) finally awoke from his great nap but still half-asleep.

   Then he asked something bewildering "What time is it, Uncle?" I looked over at HIM and signed to him to just play with it. HIS voice changed suddenly to a grown man's voice, gruffy and rough. "It's an hour before sunset, kid." (Y/N) yawned, got up and stretched. "Huwaahh.... That was an awesome nap. Did we arrived at the village yet, Uncle?" I was so stunned at this new discovery about how he acts when he wakes up and then I heard something ringing and I looked around while the deadman talks to (Y/N).

    I found out that (Y/N) scroll was ringing. I tap the button on it and it came to life showing a bolded text on the screen. •Please Pick Me Up, Miss!•. I was confused and scared at first of course. But the text changed into •Just Pick Me Up And I'll Talk•. I obeyed the instructions, picked it up amd put it on my ear.

A voice of a lady came out.  "Great! Now do you want to see a trick that you can do while he is in this state?" I replied with another question. "Who are you and what do you mean?" The only answer that I can come up with is this lady is a stalker kind of girlfriend. "Oh... Apparently he forbids me to tell or show anybody  what I am buut he didn't say anything about name's! So my name is Eden! Nice to meet you! I'll let (Y/N) say the rest.. Now come on, before he fully wakes up!" I just listened and held the scroll in front of me. "Good Evening (Y/N)!" She greeted him and Slater looked at me like asking 'who is that?' I just shook my head.

"Evening Miss Duquette. I can't really see you right now because my eyes is still blurry but give me some coffee and an hour maybe, we'll be good to go!" (Y/N) responded at the same time the bullhead landed and opened the doors. Ozpin got out from the cockpit. "Let's get to the inn first, I need my cup of coffee too." He said shaking his mug.

    "And I'll see you on the other side, Ash" I hugged HIM one last time and HE dissappears in my arms.

    We exit the bullhead with Professor Ozpin upfront and Eden still talking to (Y/N). 'Wow, (Y/N) can say very stupid things if he hadn't got his coffee.' I thought to myself. Then I heard this Eden who is still in my hand ask something embarrasing. "Hey (Y/N) , do you have any girls you like?" I kinda want to know to... Maybe he has a girlfriend. Who  know...

   "Well, Miss Duquette. I do have a girl in mind, no! Two in fact." He replied and then yawned again. "Come on! Descriptions NOW!" Eden yelled from the scroll. "Well... One of them has some red tint on her short hair" I instantly felt my hopes shattering because I know who he's talking about "and the other one has short hair too but she got Purple hair. One adorable and one beautiful." I felt my cheeks blushing as soon as he described my hair and said that I was beautiful.

~Five Minutes Later~

    I just finished making (Y/N)'s coffee and I wonder if he remembers what he said. Well we arrived at the Inn that were staying for one night but we haven't look inside the room yet. Professor Ozpin said that he will be back in an hour and set off with his coffee in his hands. Right now I gonna give (Y/N) his coffee which he is sitting in the waiting room.

    I walked into the waiting and saw him sleeping again on the couch. 'Oh well, let me do something about that.' I stood in front of him and whiff his coffee in front of his nose. He got up slowly and smiled with his eyes still closed, holding his hands out to me. I hold the mug near his hands and he slowly wrapped his fingers around it. He took a sip and said "Thank you Miss Duquette." I smiled at this and replied. "It's Ashley, (Y/N)... Not Miss Duquette." He blinked and suddenly saw him blushing.

    "Awww... This is embarrasing!" I sat down opposite of him. "You know, Eden said this happenned before..." He opens one of his eyes oids and looked at me. "Eden talked to you?" I nodded and he groaned. "She's not supposed to yet.." He just pick up his scroll from the table and turn it on. "Well since you talk to her already there no point hiding her from you."

   (Y/N) tapped of his scroll a few time and out comes a holographic lady. "What did you make me talk about this time?" She shrugged. "Nothing juicy~" Which I know is it not true. "Ashley is that true?" I nodded again. He turns it off, drank his coffee and got up. He approached the door and stopped.

   "Do you want to come with me? I have somebody that I want you to meet." I pulled my face mask up and give him a thumbs up. "Who was that?" I asked him to break the silence. "She's my A.I. but I don't know how she got that personality." And then more silence as we walk.

    I followed through the village and getting odd looks from everyone else that's wondering in the night, some waved at (Y/N). After a bit of walking, we arrived at the edge of a cliff with a tombstone. "Ashley, meet Monty Oum. Monty, this is Ashley Somemoer." I looked at him confused and then I understand what he's doing. He talking to an old friend... Maybe.

   I hesitantly put my hand on his shoulder and he continued. "I did it, old man. I became a leader like I promised you..." I can see tears at the edge of his ears but he is smiling. "Well not really sure if I'm cut out for this thing but I'll be damn sure to try my best!" He said as tears of joy were drop. He turned to me and I look into his eyes. I can see the burning fire of determination in them. So I joined him. "And I'll be sure to try and be the best partner for you."

    I sensed movement behind us but I ignored it because I don't want him to stop him because he look so happy at the moment. "This cliffside is called the Rooster Teeth because the village back there was called Rooster Edge and if you look at the cliff from down there" he pointed to the lake below. "It will look like there teeth on the cliff wall." And then in a blink of an eye (Y/N) draw his gun and shot once behind us.
