~Another Chance~
Don't put the song on until a specific part! :D
I woke up.
My notebook in my arm.
I must've fallen asleep last night when I was writing.
That poem I made...
It was gone. That page in my notebook was gone!
I quickly hopped out of bed, and realized that I wasn't in my trailer. I was in Sky's! I looked around for her parents. They must be outside. I quietly opened the front door and popped my head out the crack.
"Heard you called my boys
Heard you called my folks
They said you drove by my house real slow
You can check any spot, roll down every road
But girl, I ain't even close
I'm somewhere on a beach
Sipping something strong,"
No. No!
It was that song! No!!!
Opened the door a little more and looked around. Sky, her parents and some other people were sitting around and laughing.
"So Sky, how's Dylan? You guys act pretty close!" I heard.
That voice was familiar. Mom said it.
"Yeah! I heard Dylan even got a hug!" Dad chuckled. I could feel anger rising up my throat.
"You know, you guys would make a good couple!" Said the boy, Cody.
"Oh Dad! Shut up! You too, Cody!" Sky broke out in laughter.
That was it. I was done. Everyone was exaggerating! And it made me mad! I opened the door all the way as tears began falling down my face. They were all little tyrants!
"EVERYONE SHUT UP!!! SHE'S NOT MY GIRLFRIEND AND SO WHAT IF SHE HUGGED ME! YOU GUYS ARE OVER EXAGGERATING!" I screamed at the top of my lungs.
I could feel everyone's eyes on me. Now, I was completely crying. Again.
"Oh Dylan, we're so sorry.. are y-"
"I'm not okay! Imagine if you were me! IF YOU HAD A CRUSH ON A GIRL AND PEOPLE MADE FUN OF YOU FOR IT!! DO YOU KNOW HOW I FEEL?! HAVING TO SIT THROUGH ALL THESE EMOTIONS!!! IM 14!!!!" I wiped my tears away and ran for my bike. I quickly put on my gear and revved the engine.
"Dylan! Wait! Don't leave!" Sky's Mom called.
It was sunset! I rode off toward that spot from the other night. I checked the pocket of my shorts and felt relieved for as my iPod was there.
As I reached where I wanted, I hopped off the bike and pulled off my gear.
Tears were still falling from my chin as I sat alone on the shore.
I reached into my pocket and grabbed my iPod. I scrolled through the music. My finger fell on one called "Take Your Time" by Sam Hunt.
Put it on now :3 the song.
My mind raced through all these thoughts. I erased every sound out of my brain except the music.
I felt a tap on my shoulder.
Ignoring it was difficult but it was worth it because I'm pretty sure they left.
"Hey," I pretended not to hear that voice. It was Sky.
"What do you want?" I opened my eyes.
"What're you doing?" She asked, sitting down by me.
"Nothing. Go away. Life's not always laughs and funny business," I whispered the last part.
"You like me?" I heard.
I closed my eyes and softly touched the water in front of me.
"Sure," I pulled my glasses off and threw them into the lake. I ruffled my hair and smiled.
I can finally be myself.
"You know, Cody's just a friend," Sky said, grabbing my arm.
"Oh, that's cool," I said. The ripples of the water calmed me down.
"No need to scream either. My parents and your parents are just asking questions," I could feel Sky smile.
I chuckled silently.
"You found my poem, I suppose?" I asked.
"Yeah.. um, about that-" Sky paused, "I guess you do really like me,"
"You didn't believe me in the first place?" I lifted up some sand and let it slip through my fingers.
I felt arms around me.
And then lips against mine.
Sky pushed me down in a laying position.
"Sky stop," I breathed heavily.
Her tongue locked with mine.
I pushed her away.
"Stop," I repeated.
"I just want another chance!" Sky yelled. She was crying.
"What?"
"You think I'm some cheater or something! It's just... I feel like you get jealous over every little thing! You won't give me a chance to speak or anything!" I clung onto her.
Her shoulders jerked as she cried.
"I'm supposed to. That's just me,"
"No! You're not-" She kissed me again.
"What's wrong Sky? You could've rejected me! But you didn't. You stuck with me through hard times. Though we just met, you feel like the sister I never had! Please! Listen to me!" I pulled her closer, hugged her tighter, kissed her longer.
She never responded.
