Breakups (part 3)

I was shaking again rage and the feeling of my skin on fire. Your mom quickly put the phone on speaker next to you. Paul's deep, calm voice filled the room, contrasting sharply with your shaking and growling.

"Listen to me carefully," he said slowly and deliberately.

Your anger seemed to pause at his voice, the fire in your skin flickering.

"P....paul what's happening?" I panted

"Damn it," Paul muttered softly before answering.

"Are you in pain? Do you feel hot? Like your body's on fire?" You could hear the concern and seriousness in his voice.

Your parents watched as you whimpered in response to his questions, your body wracked with pain and anger.

"Yes" I said

"Alright, listen to me," Paul said firmly.

"This is important. You need to calm down. I know it hurts, but getting angry is only making it worse. You're shifting, sweetheart. Your body is changing and it's painful as hell. You need to calm down before it gets worse." He began

"I can't, it hurts" I groaned clenching my fists tightly as I closed my eyes tightly

"You can, and you will," Paul's voice became stern, commanding even.

"Focus on my voice. Breathe with me. In through your nose, out through your mouth." He started to guide you

through deep breaths, his calm tone acting like a soothing balm on your fiery rage. I did what he said, taking a breath through my nose and out through my mouth, I'm my body wasn't in as much pain but it still hurt for the most part.

"That's it," Paul encouraged softly.

Your parents watched in awe as your shaking slowly subsided and the growling stopped. The hole in the wall was the only remaining evidence of your earlier rage.

"Keep breathing like that," Paul continued.

"I'm coming over." He hung up abruptly.

"Mom, dad, stay back please" I pleaded

as I remembered the tribe legends clearer now, shifting into a wolf that's what was happening now, with each movement they made my wolf growled and I tried to breathe waiting for Paul. Your parents immediately froze, remembering the tribal stories they had dismissed as mere myths. Seeing your behavior and the way you reacted to their movements, they slowly backed away, giving you space. The front door suddenly burst open and Paul rushed in, his eyes scanning the room until they landed on you.

But he wasn't alone, Sam and Jared were there too why I wasn't sure, but all I knew is I grew hot and angry again.

As soon as Sam and Jared entered, your body temperature spiked again and angry growls rumbled in your chest. Paul immediately stepped in front of you, blocking your view of Sam and Jared.

"Easy," he murmured soothingly,

knowing that seeing other males would trigger your territorial instincts.

"It hurts" I groan in annoyance

"I know it does," Paul said gently but firmly.

He turned to Sam and Jared over his shoulder.

"Get out. Now." There was a sharp command in his voice that brooked no argument.

Sam and Jared exchanged a glance but quickly exited without a word.

"Please make it stop" I panted out as my body shook crazy again

Paul quickly closed the distance between you and him, his hands gently but firmly gripping your arms to keep you still. He leaned down, his face inches from yours as he spoke in a low, commanding tone.

"Shh, listen to me. I can stop the pain. But you have to trust me." He said

"O...ok" I said weakly

Paul's eyes locked onto yours, his voice steady and reassuring.

"Good girl," he murmured softly.

Without breaking eye contact, he slowly moved one hand to your neck, applying gentle pressure. Suddenly, a warm sensation spread from where his fingers touched, slowly radiating throughout your body.

"Paul" I whimpered softly as I leaned into his touch

"Shh, it's working," Paul whispered softly

as the warmth spread through your body, soothing the burning pain. Your parents watched in stunned silence from the doorway as Paul seemed to calm you with just his touch.

"Hmm" I hummed softly

as I tiredly looked into his eyes and let out of low growl but not threatening like it was something else something more.

Paul's eyes widened slightly at the low growl that wasn't angry or aggressive. It was something else entirely. He unconsciously pulled you closer, his fingers still pressing softly on your neck. Your parents exchanged a look, your mom whispering,

"That's not an angry growl." Your dad nodded,

"It's almost..." mom began

I said nothing just did it again, my body felt safe and clam in his arms and it almost sounded like a purr.

"Almost like a purr," your dad finished your mom's sentence.

Your mom's eyes widened in realization.

"That's a mating purr," she whispered urgently. Your dad nodded solemnly.

"And she's looking at Paul like he's her mate." Your mom bit her lip anxiously.

I didn't even know what was happening anymore all I knew it Paul was here for me again, and I didn't want to let that go

"I....forgive you" I mumbled softly

Paul froze at your mumbled words. Your parents stared in shock. You had never forgiven anyone for anything before. Your anger and pride were legendary among the pack. But here you were, forgiving Paul who you hated just hours ago. His fingers tightened slightly on your neck possessively.

"Say it again," he said

"I forgive you" I said softly

Paul's heart skipped a beat at your soft words. He leaned down, his forehead pressing against yours gently.

"Thank you," he whispered hoarsely

Your parents watched with wide eyes as Paul seemed to claim you right there, his touch gentle but possessive. Your mom covered her mouth with her hand, tears pricking her eyes.

"I take it your a spirit warrior then" I chuckled softly in his arms

Paul let out a surprised laugh that quickly turned into a grin.

"I guess I am," he said softly

running his thumb gently along your neck where your purr had been moments ago. Your parents exchanged a look that said 'this is mate behavior'. Your dad whispered,

"I'm sorry for slapping you" I mumbled sheepishly

Paul's grin widened into a full-blown smile at your sheepish apology. He leaned down and pressed a soft kiss to your forehead.

"It's alright, little warrior," he murmured against your skin.

Your mom let out a soft sniffle, your dad putting an arm around her shoulders as they watched their daughter apologize for the first time ever.
