❝Together we can change the future❞ Callum Tanaka (0/3)

General

Name
They gave a hesitant smile before shifting in their seat. "Callum Tanaka" they answered quietly before glancing over to a woman that was standing beside them. "You're not interviewing her, but that's...Jade, my assistant. She follows me everywhere which is why she couldn't wait outside"

↢Nickname↣
"Well..." Callum trailed off with a small frown as they looked down at their lap. "My mother tended to call me Cam, that's about it"
(Al and Cam)

↢Age↣
"Eighteen. I've only just turned a legal adult. I honestly wish I could be a child again but..." Cam spoke with a small frown and sigh now glancing over to Jade. "Once you lose something, you can never, ever, get it back," they remarked softy

↢Gender↣
With a small chuckle he covered his mouth and pushed up his glasses, "You're quite funny, aren't you?" Callum questioned, his shoulders relaxing some
(Male)

↢Species↣
"I'm something that is pathetic, boring, fleshy, and so...weak. In plain terms, a homo sapiens, or more commonly known as a human" the male explained as he started to mess with the seat's pillow quietly. "However..." Callum trailed off now taking off his glasses as one of his eyes glowed a light blue. "I've grown to become more than that. You can too as well"
(Human with abilities who then became a cyborg)

↢Sexuality↣
At that question, Callum's excited tone turned into nothing more than a flustered mumble as his face reddened. "What my young master is trying to say is. 'What does that have to do with the interview?'" Jade spoke clearing her throat as Cam looked down. "Y-yes! Thank you Jade" he confirmed quietly with a small nod
(Bisexual)

↢Nationality↣
"Russian. Although more precisely part Russian, and part Japanese. I'm more American than anything though, I moved here when I was eight"
(His mother is Russian, and father is Japanese)

↢Accent↣
"Once again, if anything American. I've lost my accent" Callum answered back as he now turned his focus back to you
(American with a faint Russian accent)

Looks

↢Height↣
"Appromixiatly six foot one! I've measured my body so many times, that I've memorized everything down to a T. I even recall the size of my left nostril" Cam explained and let out a small chuckle and tapped his nose

↢AppearanceIrl/Anime

↢Eye color↣
"Ah...I honestly don't feel bothered to answer such obvious questions. I-I'm sure there's a reason behind it...it all just seems too easy" Cam spoke as he glanced over to Jade who understood his directions without him even opening his mouth. "Dark brown" the android answered simply

↢Hair color↣
"Black" she answered again as Callum now closed his eyes and folded his arms, patiently waiting for the easy questions to be over with

↢Skin tone↣
"Pale" Once again answered from Jade

↢Body type↣
"He's average, but most would say slim" the woman finished off as Callum opened his eyes and let out a sigh of relief, easy questions always made him nervous

↢Scars❣Piercings❣Tattoos

"I...have many scars all over from the accident, and all the amounts of surgery I've had done"

Personality

Positive
Sentimental | Despite what he might say, Callum cares a lot about physical things. Especially after the tragic fire accident that took place, he has a better understanding and an appreciation of the 'little things in life'. From the way his room is, to the clothes he wears on his back, the life-threatening has left him, in many ways, enlightened to what he had been so clueless to before. He used to spend all his time indoors, studying. But now, he spends it outside on a picnic table under a tree because he wants to enjoy all of what the world has to offer. He takes good care in any of his possessions and of the people around them, because, he fears that one day, he'll lose it too
Dedicated | The male's parents had always carried a sort of ideology that they lived by. Callum had never truly agreed with it, but ever since that day he understands what they meant. Now he's determined to continue on their words and thoughts through his own actions, and he isn't messing around. When he puts his mind towards something Callum becomes very focused, almost tunnel visioned on that task and only that task. He's a man of his words, if he says he's going to do it, you can bet he'll spend all of his free time getting it done.
Reserved | Callum is a very quiet guy in general. He's always been like that, maybe even more so now. The man is the type to not lead a conversation, and instead stay in the back and listen. A man of few words, he has an easy time noticing important details and paying attention. He enjoys his seclusion away from others, but at the same time, he has always wondered what it would feel like to be inside of a large friend group. The thought alone makes him both curious and afraid

Negative
Spontaneous | You have to be a certain type of mad to be apart of the Tanaka family. There's a reason why his parents were successful inventors, and why they always seemed to be on the go. Callum could be half asleep in bed when all of a sudden he gets a new idea. These sudden spurts of energy aren't uncommon, but once his thoughts are clouded with ideas, there's no stopping him from seeing them out and writing them down. This could sometimes lead to him suddenly leaving, or losing his thought in a conversation, and them him quickly running off to go do it.
Shy | It's seems that no matter how hard he tries, Callum doesn't have a single social body in his bone. He's quick to lose his words and knot his tongue if faced with talking to a ballroom of strangers, let alone run a corporate business. He wasn't born to lead like his father, but it's something he's forcing himself to do, even if his face ends up looking like a red tomato. Don't get him started on a love interest either, he acts like a bumbling buffoon, avoiding eye contact, stuttering in his words, and losing his thoughts
Critical | Callum is always looking at things and how to fix them. He has a bad habit of scrutinizing things and people, quietly staring them down and focusing hard on them, which often leads to annoyed glares from the other person. He wants to create a better world for all humans, and if that means taking apart every little flaw in someone, even himself to do it, he's willing to suffer the consequences. Cam wants people to see his way, but with how shunned his philosophies are, this can even lead to small bursts of anger from frustration, but he is quick to excuse himself out of the room

↢Likes↣
"Well, let's see..." Callum mumbled softly as he furrowed his brows in an attempt to think. "I'm a fan of taking nature walks. The outside world is just so lovely, and there are many inspirations we can take from it by simply just looking!" he hummed happily from thinking about what he liked
(Playing chess, folding origami, observing people and studying them, tinkering on his projects)

↢Dislikes↣
"When people fail to realize how weak we all are, that...if we are to survive we must force evolution instead of waiting for it to happen" the male explained with a small frown as his gaze trailed elsewhere
(Being an outcast, large fires, the color red, hospitals)

↢Backstory↣
"C-can...we not talk about it?" Callum asked meekly as he tried to focus his gaze elsewhere, like the plant in the room that was looking mighty interesting right about now
(Callum's parents met at a inventors convention in Japan. Not the strangest of places, but also not the most common. Both had come from low-income families, but also had a strive to make it in the world with a dream, a dream in which the two worked as partners in their fields of expertise. What blossomed into a friendship soon grew into something more serious until finally, his father decided to leave Japan and pursuit his job as a mechanical engineer in Russia, where his mother lived. All the while his mother was studying to become a doctor, more importantly, a neuroscientist. The basis of their work was to use humans to create meta-humans, such as using bionic parts or full on creating an android to do it for them.

The time Callum was born was around when his mother had been out of college and into her personal studies for a few years in hopes of creating 'the perfect body pieces'. As a young child Callum got all the love and attention he could have ever wanted as a child, and even when his parents were stacked with work, they always had time to read him a bedtime story or play a game with him. He would often follow his parents around in their labs and watch them work, often asking curious questions or wanting to try it himself. It wasn't until he as about seven did his parents make leeway in the technology world. His father had spent all his time creating a brand of mini house robots known as, E.V.I.E, or; Easy versatile intuitive electronic. He was the first of his kind to have ever developed such a complex ai system that practically seemed to think for itself. With the raging success, the family moved to America to pursue his parent's aspirations and further their ideology. First, introduce technology as a must tool. That had been phase one, now, phase two was to show how humans could become one with that technology. However, for how bold their ideas were, they were bound to have enemies who wanted nothing more than the whole thing canceled. Callum had no trouble finding a new place in middle school, he learned to keep to the back and watch from the sidelines, although he was always eager to answer a question, he was a bit of a teacher's pet.

His parents were his heroes, his idols. Seeing them do so well make him want to achieve in school, and so he threw out any and all things that didn't involve getting straight A's. Once, his mother had shown him how to make origami to help him relax, but at the time he didn't much care for 'silly' paper, when he could do things like chess. The time soon came for Nefrit Tech to unveil it's next latest invention, and so they hosted a large even on one of the tallest buildings in the city. Whenever there was a large event Callum was no stranger to following his parents around like a lost puppy, he'd keep quiet and listen to adult talk, but he was bursting with energy to see what the latest invention was. His father had never told him this one, it was meant to be a surprise.

The time soon came for the project to be revealed, and right as his father had been about to present along with his mother, a strange smell encased the party, the smell of smoke. What had been a calm event soon turned into complete chaos, the elevators had mysteriously gone out of service, and the stairway was much too slow to make any progress, in other words, all one hundred people in that building, were about to die. Callum hadn't the slightest of clue what was going on in the havoc, but when his parents had pulled him aside with teary eyes, a child could easily make an assumption. He didn't want to leave his parent's side, but with his mother's charm it was irresistible to resist when he heard her tell him to, "Cam, could you go grab me my jacket from the roof...I'm getting cold". He tried his hardest to be quick, but by the time he made it to the stairwell the building had already started to collapse. In fact, a large piece had managed to come crashing down on his leg, making him unable to move. After that, there was a flashing light, and then he woke up to being in a hospital, almost as if it were a bad dream. What sent him into panic though was the fact he was unable to see, and he couldn't move.

From that day forward it looked as if Callum's seemingly normal life had come to an end, in such a short span of time he had lost practically everything. His parents, his leg, and his vision. What he had gained though, was the very surprise his father had left behind. The exact thing that had saved Callum in his now very unfortunate life, Jade. After spending many months of recovery time in the hospital it was concluded that 'he would never be able to walk to see again', and upon hearing those words he laughed, never had he heard something so foolish. Never wasn't apart of a Tanaka's vocabulary, never meant a challenge. For a few more months, Callum spent it getting adjusted to Jade, owning a company, his powers, and most of all getting his vision and ability to walk back. Using his mother's technology, he developed a prototype of a bionic eye, and without hesitation had surgery done, which was thankfully successful. After taking so long to 'upgrade', Callum had become what his parents had always dreamed of happening to people, a cyborg)

↢Powers↣
A spark in his eyes seemed to of been lit as he sat up in his chair a bit and quickly started to speak, "I most certainly can tell you! There's many benefits to becoming a cyborg, although we are still in the testing phase"
(The best way to explain it would be to describe it in parts. Due to his bionic legs, he has increased speed when running, and doesn't get tired of it. This also includes super strength when kicking, although to a much lesser degree as the parts weren't made for combat. His family's goal is to better humans, not weaponize them. As for his eyes, they grant him enhanced vision, allowing him to zoom into things to see from further away, along with analyzing things and memorize them for later, there is also a night vision mode included as well. Lastly, and much more of a prototype than the others is his abilities other than the four bionic parts, in fact, it rests in his hand left, which has been enhanced to allow him to connect and control any electronic he touches, from simple things like phones and radios, to complex things, such as computers and cars

While we're at it, I'll discuss Jade's abilities as well, it's only fair to know everything about a character, especially a strong servant such as her. Jade was designed with the jobs of a bodyguard and nanny, in mind. Her body is made of a strong metal that allows her to be durable but not heavy, resulting in her being able to be light on her feet, all the while able to take many hits, like bullets. She has super strength, and with powerful legs can jump large distances very quickly. This allowed her to save Callum from such a high building. She has an x-ray mode, which can let her detect weapons, basically a walking metal detector, however, she can only detect weapons made of metal. Lastly, she has quick reflexes, allowing her to quickly and swiftly make decisions just as a good nanny could.

All of Nefrit Tech is made to incorporate normal living, meaning that she doesn't look like an android with the synthetic skin she was given, it almost makes her look completely human if it weren't for her empty gaze and cold embrace, this goes for Callum's body pieces too)

↢Weakness↣
"With such power does come with great drawbacks I do suppose. But! I think the positives outweigh the negative, I don't have any regrets"Cam hummed a little less joyful as he looked over to you with a small smile
(Callum's bionic parts rely on energy produced by his stomach, more or less he has to eat constantly or his limbs will shut down. As in, he won't be able to walk and will go blind. While he hasn't ever run into a situation like that before, he's always careful to bring a wheelchair and snack wherever he goes. Controlling other objects can always be a bit tricky, he has to physically touch them, which is ironic to say given the day and age of Bluetooth.

For Jade, it's a bit different. Her parts aren't made to supply power like a human's. In fact, she runs very differently, relying on a battery that she has to charge for an hour a day, meaning that this is when Callum is most vulnerable when she is off. She can also not turn on while charging, the charge must complete its cycle. His parents are also aware of the possibility of an android revolution, so she has been equipped with an off button located 'easily' on the back of her neck. The x-ray vision works exactly like a detector, if you have the weapon concealed inside of one of those bags, you'll be fine. Jade only takes orders from her 'master', which is the entire Tanaka family. And with the last words of her creator being 'Protect Callum Tanaka', she will risk herself to do anything Callum desires, whether it be good or bad)

↢Dream Job↣
"I was born to fulfill a specific role that my parents spent their entire life carving. I...just hope to live up to their expectations one day" Callum admitted quietly with a small sigh as Jade reached over and placed a hand on his shoulder in an attempt to comfort him

↢Occupations↣
"I am the heir, founder, and CEO of Nefrit Tech" the male explained with a smile as he pushed up his glasses and looked to you. "I'm going to be successful and run my family's business! I won't let them down!" he exclaimed even louder before realizing he had raised his tone. Callum went back to adverting his gaze as his face reddened once again

Extra information◊

↢Pets↣
"My mother's cat, his name is Ivan, although I barely see him often. He likes to go outside so I just leave food out for him. I think he's been mourning in his own way" the male spoke softly with a small frown

Family
"They're...all dead" Callum remarked, his already naturally quiet voice going even more inaudible as he paled. Jade frowned and looked to you with a small glare. "That's enough questions. You've made my young master very upset" she spoke sternly as Callum slowly stood and grabbed his heavy coat. "No...Jade, it's alright. I am the one at fault here. Even though you don't bleed red, I still have you" the male assured as her gaze softened and she looked towards him, "Young master..."
(Deceased, although here are pictures of Jade since he considers her family)
