Chapter 38: All secrets become dark
President Putin Pov:
Washington, DC
President Putin walked down the corridor to his office as the GRU office, grabbed the door for him. He entered the office, strolling over to his desk. Sitting down in the chair behind it, he had a strange feeling that Grigorevich couldn't be trusted and that possibility he had made a deal with the Resistance, but he wasn't sure how far they reach.
Yes, the treaty was vital for certain reasons; one of them was that he believed the arms deals weren't good for his country. There were certain shadowy, powerful elements within the Kremlin, and the US government that were against the treaty and he was about to do the one thing that they didn't him want to do. He didn't care; he was the Russian President, there was little that he didn't know about.
So it when all came down to it if they wanted to stop him, they would have do to their best. As an ex KGB agent, he had access secrets and knowledge access special programs. His computer on his desk flashed on a warning immediately on it, he froze for a second as his eyes narrowed on the screen, seeing where the alarm bells were going off. The Bubble room? Only two people had access to that classified room, him and deputy director Grigorevich. He scrolled up the screen and clicked it on it.
His computer screen flashed on a warning immediately on it. He froze for a second as his eyes narrowed on the screen. Seeing the alarm bells were going off. The Bubble room? Only two people had access to that classified room, him and deputy Director Grigorevich. He scrolled up the screen and clicked it on it. The Intel showed that someone had access a classified file on Rose Scorpio.
Terror overtook his face as he thought about the name. Knowing it was just one thing, but he knew who she really was, and that was dangerous. There was a reason why the file was kept on the GRU mainframe; The existence of the White Nights was a closely guarded secret in Russia, and the identity of of Rose Scorpio was the most dangerous secret,it could even get you killed. After a while he exited the file and then scrolled over to the surveillance footage from the Bubble room.
No, it couldn't be, but it was deputy director Grigorevhich entering the bubble room. So had he access Rose Scorpio file what he was looking for? It was unlikely that he had accessed it for the SVR because they already that she had was a foreign agent for them. He wondered if she had found out that Grigorevich was looking into the White Nights and into her. Earlier, before arriving at the Russian Federation, he had noticed that Grigorevhich had been on his burner talking to someone.
After a while he exited out of the surveillance footage, he rose as GRU agent darted into his office the expression on his face was hardened.
"Sir, I was just informed by one of our agents on the roof that deputy Director Grigorevich was found dead outside the Embassy."
He slammed down his fist on the desk. "Do, we know where he was rushing to as he left the embassy?"
"No, Mr. President we don't," The GRU agent stated.
He tilts head, raised his eyebrows as he paced back and forth, while he pressed his fingers in steeple "Well, I suggest you better where he was rushing to and who killed him Understand."
The GRU agent nodded in agreement as he sprinted out of the office; he had known along who had given the order to terminate the deputy director of the SVR. He had a strange feeling that Putin knew already who had ordered killed Grigorevich, knowing he trembled at the thought at what would happen to him if Rogue found out he had betrayed her.
The surveillance footage, he thought to himself.
It had finally dawned on him that President Putin had access the footage, and was waiting for the right moment before he made his move. He would have to thread carefully making sure that Putin didn't find out he was secretly working for Rogue the sniper he had instructed to kill him only knew him by his code-name Rasputin. And if it came to it, he would terminate the sniper if he needed to. He couldn't leave any traces.
President Putin walked over to his desk; he had known there was something his GRU agent wasn't telling him. There were certain agents assigned to the bubble room and he was one of them. His years in the KGB had taught not to miss anything and question everything. Sitting back down, he had one thing to look into: a name that Grigorevich told him about before they had left Moscow. He typed in his password on the slot on the screen and within seconds, the screen. After that, he typed in the name Azalea Elizabeth Grey.
Within seconds a file flashes onto the screen with the intel.
Name: Azalea Elizabeth Grey
Operational Status: Free-lance assassin/ weaponry specialist
Background: She was recruited out of the orphanage, by Martin Ray to the shadows and operated in Russia, North Korea, China and Venezuela.
Current employer: The Resistance/ Russtech Ammunition.
Known sibling: Ally Ruyan
He scrolled up the screen to the picture of Azalea Elizabeth Grey, as he froze for a second, the hairs on his neck standing up. Noticing the same cold and brutal complexion on the woman next to Grey, it was the threatening menacing eyes, and the pitch black hair that had got his attention. Things were starting to interesting here, he rubbed his chin, wondering if this Martin Ray had recruited Ruyan too. It would made sense.
There still was the matter of Russtech Ammunition yes, he had heard and knew about them through his intel briefings he had gotten from his national security advisor. It didn't surprise him at all, if they were behind the Resistance. He exited out of the file on the screen, rose from he was sitting, and strode out of his office. Everything was connected somehow to Russtech, There were too many powerful elements at work within them so he had to be very careful with what he did.
He needed to come up with a plan; maybe the twins were the key to all of this. He couldn't afford any mistakes here. They would watch and be waiting. If they wanted to control his Russia with the arms deals, well, he would not let them. Strolling down the corridor he noticed that the GRU agent was watching him, obviously since he had reported to Rogue Rose Scorpio.
The doors slid open as he stepped in, reaching into his pocket, pulling out his satellite phone and entered a ten digit encrypted secure for President Roberts at the White House. He held the phone up to his ear.

President Robert's Pov
She grabbed the phone from the Resolute desk before she spoke as her eyes narrowed on her chief of staff. He nodded at her.
"Mr. President," she answered in an authoritative voice sounding calm and firm.
"Madame President, Putin said in his old Russian accent, choosing his next words carefully. I know about Rose Scorpio, and how we can stop the Resistance and Russtech Ammunition from preventing us from signing the treaty."
"Mr. President, How do you know about Rose Scorpio, and that cover is an operational alias for Ruyan who is working for me right now,"
"Madame President, that's not important, but we can use Rose Scorpio to bring down the Resistance and Russtech Ammunition."
"I have my best agents already on it, Mr.President as for Rose I can't tell you,"
"What aren't you telling me Madame President, I know that Grey and Ruyan are twins and that they were recruited by Martin Ray from the orphanage," President stated.
How could he know that Grey and Ruyan were twins, she thought to herself, pondering the implications of it?
Listen, she said, "The treaty were about to sing is important to both of our countries. So my advice don't go sabotaging it by looking into the twins, to leave it alone."
"I'm well aware of how vital the treaty is to both countries. But I think the twins could be a valuable asset to us Madame President," President Putin scowled.
She ended the call by slamming the phone down on her desk as she drummed her fingers on the desk, rage flowed her like lava. She'd knew that if President Putin went looking into the twins,it would compromise Ruyan's cover and possibility ruin the op that she had put together. She couldn't let that let happen no matter what was at risk.

President Putin Pov
The doors slid open on the underground parking garage, as he stepped out and strode down over to the parking space where the limousine was waiting for him. The chauffeur grabbed the door for as he climbed in and closed the door behind him. A plan formed in his mind as he tilted his head, raised eyebrow with an enigmatic smile while pressing his fingers in a steeple. There had to be a reason President Roberts didn't want to t look into their the twins. The chauffeur walked around to the driver-side, as he grabbed the door handle and slid closing the door behind him. After that they sped out of the underground parking garage.
