good morning, problems
Claire bit her lip as she watched him sleep. She couldn't believe that their relationship managed to make it past her secret. And more than that she couldn't believe that he was as good in bed as he was. Her cheeks reddened at the thought. To her Lucas was looking very good in his sleep and she didn't mind waking up to this every morning. When Lucas woke up to see her already looking at him, he pushed away the urge to laugh. Claire was practically eye fucking him and he couldn't help but find it extremely cute. Lucas also wouldn't hesitate to give her exactly what she'd silently been asking for. So when Claire finally noticed he was awake he took his chance and flipped them so he was hovering over her and kissed her deeply.
"Good morning babe" he whispered as he spread kisses up and down her neck. Claire bit down harder on her lip and only hummed in response. Lucas kissed her again and squeezed her hip a bit making her jump "I said... good morning" he said assertively making Claire way hotter than she was a second ago.
"So forceful. Good morning" she said back as he placed a sweeter kiss to her my lips.
"I like hearing your voice. Which I thought we established last night" he said as he buried his face in her neck.
"Did we? You'll have to remind me" Claire said in response and just as Lucas was going to do that Paul walked in eating a bowl of celery.
"Please stop. Last night was enough. Claire I'm all for this little vampire rehab thing but if you're just gonna fuck while I sit in my room doing Tai Chi I'm out" he said as he dipped a piece in ranch and crunched on it.
"Dude! A little privacy?" Paul rolled his eyes.
"Fine but no more nookie while I'm here" Claire laughed into Lucas' chest, even though Claire might've thought it funny Lucas was annoyed. He wanted nookie.
"It's fine. Go ahead Paul I'll be down in a minute" Lucas gave her a disappointed look but she pushed him off regardless. The man rolled his eyes and got up grabbing her robe and tying it loosely around his hips.
"Ok. It's your loss" he said gesturing to himself up and down.
"I'll be fine. You'll be here later" Claire said making her own plans for tonight. They had each other completely and now Claire didn't feel like she had to hide. Or pretend. Now she could be herself and she wasn't afraid he'd reject her. Claire rushed into the bathroom before Lucas annoyingly leaving him time to look around. He'd never been here he wanted to take it in. And Lucas wasn't exactly paying attention to his surroundings last night. On a pile of books he'd found an old picture of what he had to assume was Julius. A part of him wondered why she kept it but then Lucas figured how much Julius must've meant to her at the time. Could he really be mad? Lucas still had Opal's things. Not intentionally but how do you get rid of someone you've had this much history with? Yet Lucas couldn't help the thoughts that bubbled in the back of his mind.
Did she still care about him?

Meanwhile Claire got downstairs and she went straight to the cellar. After she'd checked on Val and rubbed in her face that she'd love happily ever after with Lucas maybe she'd let her out or take her out of town. Where she'll stay. Yet as she opened the cell door she knew something was wrong. Val would've said something by now, Clarie had nothing. And just like she thought Val was missing. Which meant every plan she'd had for the day was over. Val was out and Claire knew there'd be hell to pay for locking her up. Claire rushed upstairs to warn everyone but she was met with the sight of Val with her hand around Lucas' throat. Paulie was standing behind her a conflicted look on his face.
"Val" Claire said with a warning tone.
"Clarie darling glad you could finally join us. I've had a hell of a day truly. I was in my cell and then Quentin popped by for a visit. Sweet boy... and he let me out. Then after nabbing my daylight I devised the next part of my plan. Should I kill everyone for this? Should I stick to the original plan? What to do? Then I realized that I can literally... kill two birds with one stone. So... to wrap up the theatrics I have Terrance and I have Opal. You'll do exactly what I ask" Val said as she squeezed Lucas' neck a bit toward the end. Lucas knew that Claire didn't want to have anything to do with Val and her plans but now they had no choice. Opal and Terrance were at stake and Lucas would get them back.
"Fine. What do you want?" Claire bit back.
"First? You want the full itinerary or the itemized list? Because I'd very much like to reveal it as we go" Val was having fun with this, they weren't prepared for how today would end.
"Cut the shit bitch. Take me to my sister" Paulie said clenching his fists. Val frowned and sneered at the boy.
"First. I need Terrance's Grandma. Poor Terrance might die if he does what I'm asking alone. And in the interest of getting what I want I'm nothing but thorough. So Paulie that's your task. Hop to it. Now you two... come with me. Your part in this is special" they followed her through the woods behind the manor. Val had long since let Lucas go and he and Claire were now walking tentatively towards the unknown.
"What do we do to get out of this" Lucas asked looking over at Claire.
"She's stronger than me right now. I can't compete with her. At least not without putting you in danger. That's the exact reason you're all still alive. Val has had decades to put me in the ground but hasn't because she'd rather watch me suffer. So my guess is... wherever we're going we're meant to do just that" Claire said as the old church came into view.
"What are we doing here?" Lucas said as they got closer and Opal came into view. He almost ran to her when Val sped in front of him.
"Simple. We're waiting for Paulie. Once I have my warlock and witch then we can move to phase two" Val said as she pushed Lucas down with Opal.
"What the hell is going on Lucas?" He didn't answer only side eyed her and bit his cheek.
"I'll explain all of this later" Lucas said turning his attention back to the two sisters. The answer wasn't good enough for Opal as she was about to demand he explain it now when Claire spoke.
"You can't honestly believe that he's down there Val" Claire said making Val smirk.
"He is. And so is everyone else. I made a deal with Neal. You remember him? Julius' best friend and a warlock. I begged him to keep Julius alive and in return I'd keep his family from being burned at the stake. Pretty simple really. With that wife of his Bonnie he was bound to say yes. Only catch was that I couldn't just save Julius, I had to keep everyone alive so now that church is a tomb and it holds the corpses of every last vampire massacred that night. Which brings me to the next phase. Hello Paulie and guest please have a seat" Terrance's Grandma Sherri stood indignantly glaring at Paulie as they walked over to the rest of the group. Opal frowned, she was taking everything in. Witches, vampires, tombs. What the fuck had happened in the last 6 months of her life to bring her here?
"Paulie?" Opal asked earning nothing but a gesture to keep quiet from him.
"All the tasty snacks we've brought with us will be their welcome gift. I can shimmy out with the love of my life while you and Paulie can grapple with the undead after they've murdered your family and friends. Seems about fair after locking me up and leaving me to starve." Val said inches away now from Claire's face as she shook her head.
"You wouldn't. You wouldn't unleash a tomb full of desiccant vampires on a town of innocents" Claire said surely, Claire knew her sister had anger. And that there was hurt and fear behind it. But this, this would take her so far beyond what she thought Val was capable of and she didn't know if she could handle that.
"You've underestimated me once in recent times big sis. Let's not do it again" Val said as she turned her attention to the elder woman "Your grandson is downstairs. Unless you want me to feed you his jugular I suggest you hop to it" the older woman gave Val a look but walked away regardless to Terrance who was looking through the family grimoire for answers.
"I told you to leave that boy alone Terrance" Terrance sighed and shook his head.
"Lucas didn't bring her here, grandma" Sherri frowned and the book flipped to the page he was searching for.
"Are you sure" Terrance wasn't sure. He didn't want to blame Lucas because he didn't ask for this anymore than Terrance did. Terrance also couldn't deny that Val seemed more emboldened to punish everyone simply because Lucas was with Claire. Terrance was torn because he didn't know if he'd do the same in his position.
Lucas kept looking over at Claire wanting to make sure that Val didn't split her in half while he wasn't looking. She was pissed. Albeit not as pissed as he thought. She could've just killed everyone on sight. Maybe her dragging it out makes it worse. Lucas wasn't sure. You can never really tell with Val.
When the spell was ready Val smirked and turned to Opal, Lucas and Claire "Showtime. Lucas you're coming with me" Claire rushed in front of Val before she could get to him and Val rose an eyebrow at her.
"You won't touch him again tonight. I'm serious Val" Val tilted her head a bit and said nothing for a moment. Then in a blink Claire was on the ground as Val had snapped her neck.
"Welp." Val grabbed Lucas and Opal cried as she pulled at the handcuffs that Val had her bound with. Terrance and his grandmother watched in silence as Val walked through the boarder and pulled Lucas into the tomb.

"Now's our chance" Sherri whispered as the book flipped to the next page.
"I am not locking him in there with her. With them... The tomb is already spelled to keep vampires in to close the door to everything including humans. It's a mistake" Terrance wouldn't be apart of it. He grew up with Lucas, how could he lock him in a tomb of starving vampires forever?
"It's him... or the town" he rolled his eyes.
"There's gotta be another way. I can't do that Grandma" his grandma sneered but the book flipped again and a new page revealed itself. Terrance not noticing the slight bleeding beginning to fall from his grandmother's ear.

"Will this be worth it?" Lucas asked as Val scanned over the bodies on the floor searching for him.
"Of course. I get what I want how it could not be" Val said in response as Lucas shrugged.
"Is it what you want? Real or not this is the same guy who didn't want to choose between you and your sister so he lied to you... both of you. What makes you think if you bring him back he won't do the same thing all over again" Val screamed out and suddenly Lucas was two inches from being in arm's reach of one of the tomb vampires.
"Stop. Talking. You don't know shit about Julius. So back off" Lucas knew he pushed it too far but he couldn't understand it. He couldn't understand her. Why would she even want him back? Why did Val think Julius really loved her?
Val was sure her undying loyalty would be rewarded with faithfulness. Before she hadn't been able to show the lengths she'd be willing to go for Julius with the limits of morality but now. Now she could show how much he meant to her. He'd have no choice but to give that love back. Val was sure of it. So they continued on in silence roaming the halls of the tomb as the eyes of the desiccant vampires followed them slowly.
An hour passed.
And then another.
Until finally they'd hit the last wall. There was no more tomb to search. Val said nothing she just stared into space shaking. Lucas watched as the Val he knew crumbled and suddenly he didn't know who he was with anymore.
And one long painful heart bleeding screaming sob later Val was on the floor and in tears "Julius was never here? Was he?" Lucas asked gently.
"Julius must've found a way to be saved from the massacre. That's the only way I can imagine why he wouldn't be in this tomb" Claire said from the entrance. She'd wanted to go in but Terrance warned her not to.
"SHUT UP!! SHUT UP SHUT UP SHUT UP! YOU DON'T KNOW ANYTHING. HE WAS SUPPOSED TO BE HERE!! WHY WOULDN'T HE BE HERE?!" Val screamed as she threw a rock into the brick.
"Julius was smart he might've known the attack was coming. Played into it so he could set up an escape. Which would mean this entire time... he's been free" Val couldn't fathom it. To be free all this time and never come to see her. Did he not know how much she missed him? Did she not know how she begged at night to be held the way he held her? Why would he do this to her?
"I was good to him. I was good to him and he betrayed me" she whispered as she turned to Lucas. Lucas backed away from Val slowly as her eyes darkened and she sneered at him. Just looking at the face of him and for it to not be Julius infuriated her so she thrust Lucas' head into the wall. "Don't think I don't know that you spelled me in here witches. Take it down or I kill him. He's already bleeding. I may just leave him to be eaten by the others. I can hear them" Claire in a quick act of desperation rushed him out. Val smirked as she walked back to the entrance at human speed. This was ending better than she thought.
"Gave up your freedom for him. Hmm. You care a lot more than I thought" Val said as she got closer.
Lucas was pulled to sit up by Opal who Claire had set free "Come on Clarie. Let's go" Lucas said as he looked up at Claire's tear soaked face.
"She can't. They spelled us in" Val emphasized every syllable because she knew it ate at him. Lucas couldn't imagine never seeing her again so in his same amount of desperation he looked over at Terrance.
"I can't leave her in there" Lucas said simply.
And after that... it only got worse.
