Chapter 6
═════
"What is it?" I slide the door lock open.
"Sorry, but principal Jensen wants you in his office immediately!" A brown haired boy from my class anxiously tells me this terrible news. I wanted to ask him more before he jogs away from me and towards the exit door.
"Principal Jensen also told me to take you with me" he was sweating more by the minute. "That's good" I pat his head. His head shifts uncomfortably before we head to the hallways.
He was quiet the whole time, keeping an obvious distance with me.
"I'm not a murderer, you know" I turn to him. His expression was frightened. He looks away at me, he firmly believed that I was the murderer. "And I'm not lying" I state.
"For real?" He hopefully lifts his head at me. I nod approvingly. A shy smile appears on his face and for the rest of the way was made in silence.
We finally make it and I slip in Jensen's office, leaving him behind the doors. Jensen was a pretty tall guy, his black hair was streaked with gray while he rested his head on his clenched fists. Both sides of the wall was covered in bookshelves with a big window between them, I wondered if he ever read all that book. Logan and Tyler on the other hand were sitting on the green leather chairs, they looked quite comfy. Jensen's eye zoomed on me, then Logan, then me again.
"Take a seat, Miss Evans" he gestures his hands towards the empty seat. "Officer Lee" He turns to Tyler who only nodded at him.
"The trouble you have caused, Miss Evans, has affected our schools reputation" he turns to the left bookshelf. After a few minutes of searching through books he brings out a file with papers spilling out from it. He taps the file on the table before lending them to lee.
"Before Officer Lee takes you two at the crime scene, you must fill out this report paper" he explains. We all glance at Lee who took out two, neatly flat papers and lended them to me and Logan.
The questions were blurry. I couldn't focus anymore, let alone reading the stupid questions. I wanted to move on until I met Bennett, which made me only move back again. Things are getting worst by the day and I don't know how I've come to this point, filling out some weird shit just to prove that I was only a witness,
If they ever believed me.
"I'm done" I sniffle my nose. Lee gives a knowing smile then takes the paper from me, putting it back to the file. Minutes later Logan finishes and gives the paper.
With that, we leave Jensen's office into an angry crowd waiting for us. The roars blossom as Logan pushes me past the audience.
How did they figure out?
Tyler quickly opens his car door for us and we hop in, out of breath. They still followed us, fists banging against the window while I heard nothing of what they were saying.
We sped up as the faint rain rinses the city. The 30 minutes drive somewhat seemed like hours of sitting in a car seat. We make it to the dock with a big 'Do not enter' sign.
Shit
The place was packed. There was about thirty police officers inspecting the area with sunglasses hiding there faces and only showing they're extremely deep frown. Around the bathroom was about twenty or twenty five forensic scientists. They wore long lab coats with surgeon blue gloves and mask, carefully checking and examining every inch of the area.
I gulped the heavy lump in my throat as I take the scene in front of me. I felt like I was bleeding, blood rushes past my eyes so quickly as my vision got blank for a moment. I never got involved in any crime scenes, worst of all, I never thought it'd be this serious.
Was it too much to ask for a peaceful and happy life?
"This way, Miss Evans" lee smiles at me, a simple one. I follow him towards a few specialists talking to each other. Logan eventually slips of my mind.
"Hannah, here she is" lee talks to a tall woman holding a clipboard in her hands while writing nonstop in it. The woman lifts her head in a surprised face.
"Alissa Evans?" She asks. I nod.
"I'm glad you came, Alissa. I heard Tyler asked you some simple questions, but we, however have a detective" she points at a corner. A forty year old man wearing a scruffy coat stood up at the sight of me.
"Miss Evans, I'm detective Sanders" he lends his hands for a handshake in which we do. "These folks are here to prevent this mess from happening again, but I And the forensic scientists are figuring a way to find who it was" he explains. "But we need to question you first" he adds.
"Privately" He highlights it to Tyler.
"I'm the officer who brought her here, I have responsibilities too" he playfully raises a brow at sanders.
