Chapter 2
═════
I tremblingly look around the empty dock. I can't stay here.
Numbness possesses my body as I reach the exit door. Christmas decorated the whole streets with red and green lights as I walked down the familiar paths I took when I first came here. Then came the warm and caring hug of Logan. The first time he ever hugged me, the first time I couldn't keep my tears from dripping like the rain that came two weeks ago.
"Sis, Where were you?" His voice is hoarse. I sniffle my nose as I hug him tighter. My bag falls from my shoulder and on the ground.
"I Was worried I'd lose you forever" he tries to hide his tearful face. I swallow the bitter taste in my mouth and force a painful smile.
"We can't lose each other that easily Logan"
I pick up my bag from the ground and run upstairs. I thought I was tough enough to stop tears a long time ago. Cried on Christmas, Such a luck. I hide my diary under my bed stare at myself in the mirror. Everything that happened today went by so fast, I didn't even get to notice anything about two weeks being passed.
"Alissa's here, she came just now" his voice interrupts my thoughts. "Yeah? Bennett? We didn't talk that much she just ran upstairs after greeting me" he continues.
"Sure, just come in an hour" he hangs up. I hear his long and bold footsteps tapping on the stair as he walks up. I scramble in my room soundlessly as he comes closer to my room.
"Alis, your dates' family is coming over" he sighs behind the door. The door handle wiggles before he walks inside. "Bennett's family?" I ask even though I know the answer. He nods.
"Mom and dad can't come for the next few months. Don't be obvious and send us to trouble" He surely was upset and bossy, like before. Logan came more strict on me ever since mom and dad left for some business they never mentioned to me.
"Change your clothes and get out of this Tomboy style, it doesn't make you look like the old Alissa" he points out to my messed up clothes. I take a deep breath then nod. I'm not gonna style like that anyways, I hate my old self.

An Hour Later

I Walk downstairs with Logan before opens the ringing doorbell. The door opens and outsteps a woman with a younger girl. The woman had dark brown curls and the girl was cute, she resembled Bennett so much. I Aim to close the door until something stops me.
"Sorry miss, I'm also a companion of those ladies" a deep and manly voice says from behind. I stop when that person enters our house. He was a tall guy with a white blouse and black hair. He makes a slight smile at me then follows behind the two.
"Go sit with our guests, Alissa" Logan escapes into the kitchen. I make a awkward smile then sit on the chair with the three.
The snow outside was banging against the ground, coloring the street with white from time to time. Logan brings tea for everyone and sits beside the tall guy. From here I could feel the intensity between them somehow.
"Alissa Evans? Right?" The woman asks. I Nod. We exchange introductions and they insisted I call them by they're first names.
"Well, would you mind to tell us where's Bennett?" Cassandra asks. I shift uncomfortably in my seat and bite my lower lip nervously.
"Bennett... couldn't make it..." I stutter.
"It...it can't be true...No" Cassandra's eyes become tearful as she understands the fact that her son died. She wasn't as sad as a mother who just figures her child died, she seemed to know it beforehand.
"Elaborate it!" Bella -Bennett's Sister- scowls at me.
"I... Found Bennett's...Body in the bathroom...At the...Dock" I stutter. All four of them had they're eyes widened as I finish my sentence.
"You stayed with a corpse for two weeks?" The guy asks. He seemed less hateful and relaxed to me than Bennett's family over there.
"No..." my eyes demand me to pour out but I refrain myself. "He said he'd be back, when I went to look for him he..." I couldn't finish. I close my eyes and swallow the unease in my throat.
"Where?" Bella Sniffles her nose. "Answer!" Cassandra demands. There shouting sent shivers down my spine.
"The Dock" I answer them. Logan's eyes train on every move the woman and her daughter did. For a few moments the rooms stays in silence until Bella sighs before speaking.
"Is he still there?" She hopelessly asks.
"I'm sure of it! I saw him a few hours ago then found out it's first January and..." Logan shakes his head at me then gestures to Bella, who covered her face with both of her hands, silently crying.
