Chapter 1: Prologue
════════
Being the only single one, Whether if it's in your friends' group Or whenever someone asks you about your relationship status -Even if you just met- is like being a leftover food that no one would pay attention to and more likely rather let the stray cats on the street swallow you into a dark pit.
I always wanted to know what it feels like, To Be a popular and pretty girl that flashes a Hollywood smile at everyone, To Be the girl with the amazing body and wavy, long hair with a infinitely handsome boyfriend that would spend all his time trying to find that Extremely expensive Engagement Ring for you.
═════
I stared at my watch waiting anxiously for him to come. I bite my lower lip nervously when I Suddenly hear the chair in front of me Screech. There he is. He's here, the person I thought I wouldn't meet in a hundred years. My Very First-Proper Blind Date. Bennett Blake. He instantly smiles, showing off his white pair of teeth.
════
"8 PM at the Lotus Restaurant Tomorrow!" He texted me back. For once I was happy about having a chance with someone. For not being the odd one in a group or conversation.
═══
"Let me drive you back?" He offers. He gently takes my hand and takes me towards a black car. I was sure it wasn't some cheapie car. The scent his car room had filled up my nostrils. Such a Pleasant smell...of Lavender. Now I understand those pretty girls' life. Now I understand why they long for a boyfriend whenever they don't have one.
"Let's go to another date, On for tomorrow at the docks?" He breaks our long silence. I've never been to the docks, I don't need to know it anyway since I don't have anything to do in there.
══
I lay on my bed scribbling in my diary. I write from detail to detail of what happened, I don't wanna lose any moment that I enjoyed. Now I can confidently flash that "Hollywood Smile" at everyone and be like 'Heh, I have a boyfriend'.
Now, here I am. A place filled with boats ready to take tour and some go for a journey. I hugged my diary tighter as I anxiously wanted to see him. Where is he? He couldn't have forgotten today, did he? I take a glance at my diary, maybe I should write right now, don't wanna lose a moment.
═
"An hour till our boat is ready. I'll go to the bathroom. Okay?" He stands up. I nod as he leaves.
New person, new date, new place. I Need to change my whole lifestyle now that I've come to this point. Even if he can be a bit sassy you still couldn't say anything to his bright-green eyes, those eyes were enough to make you forget what you were saying.
I stop as a touch of water lands on the paper. Rain?
Just a little more details. I told myself. My mind shifts from writing as the drops Redundantly fall on my writing. Frowning, I tilt my head upwards, why isn't he here yet?
I should go look for him.
I close my diary shut and slip it in my bag. Everything was different, it was cold. The trees were dusted white snow while everywhere was covered in white, the ground was freezing and the more I walked the more my body would notice the coldness. My footsteps echo in the long hall to enter the bathroom.
The last bathroom was open, there was...a long black object behind the door. The object grew arms, and a designer jacket.
This wasn't any object.
Blood rushes past my ears so quickly I felt everyone could here it, only, there wasn't anyone here. The jacket was the exact one Bennett wore. I froze.
I was close enough to hold him. I take his wrist. It was freezing cold, like it was dead a long time ago. My lower lip trembled. I catch sight of his phone before I grab it.
It's 1st January
Two weeks passed, two weeks, and I noticed nothing about it. His clothes were soaked wet from the ground. Every part of his body was as frozen as ice.
I weakly shove the phone in my bag and turn around. The hallways seem to shrink the more I walked, I wanted it to squeeze the life out of me.
The dock was empty, closed for Christmas holidays. How come no one ever noticed me by now? No one ever noticed Bennett either?
Worst of all, I didn't even know where his parents are to even tell them about this.
