At the coffee shop. ☕
I use to always think i was insane and caffeine had taken the best part of me until I realized a mystery which made me view the world differently. Entirely. It was supposed to be a day like every other. Coffee shop. Home. Books. Movies. That was exactly how my routine ran, until everything changed drastically.

My butt ached and I wriggled my waist to relieve the pain. The scent of brewed coffee, the strong smell of mahogany and new paints have become my company for the past 5 hours.
I sat on the orange cushion, which sat at the rear end of the coffee shop. To my left was another one that rested on the see-through glass and then a square wooden table to my front. Honestly, I don't understand why there's a cushion here, and then a wooden table a little ahead of the cushion which rested on the glass. In front of it were seats with different colours. The table faced the busy street, at what seemed like the center of the room were other round tables with chairs of different makes—wooden and plastic alike.
I grunted and rolled my eyes. I know very little about interior decor, but know this place was a no-no. Not regarding it was a local coffee shop, I just thought they could do better. The only thing that caught my interest was the well stock bookshelf. I didn't meet the same books here whenever I came, and it was almost as if they kept changing it from me.
I decided to ignore everything and concentrate on the book in my palm while being conscious of the Barista whose eyes were on me. He was new here because since I started coming here, I've never seen him.
He was ravishing handsome, and I knew I won't leave here without having his cell phone number.
Since I've been here, I've watched people come and go, waiters take shifts but I couldn't move from here.
Then a random thought found its way to my head.
What if everyone here read minds
Silly thought, *eye roll*
I dismissed it.
I sipped on my coffee, it was the fifth cup since I came here.
Then something even shocking happened, everyone was staring at me, like they heard my thought. I turned to the Barista to see him staring at me again. My heartbeat plummeted, my blood ran cold, I felt a knot tie in my stomach.
I didn't want to believe it till I someone who came few minutes ago said to me,
"Five cups of coffee is too much for a pretty young girl, "
Then the heartbeat increased, I could feel the sweat form at the root of my hair, just above my forehead.
How much have they heard? How much have my privacy been invaded? How much about me do they know?
Just then, Jayce ran in, looking panicked.
"Lara, come on, this place isn't safe."

Is anyone anxious?
