"Gourgeist, take the role!"

The ghostly Pokemon with a bright smile, pike appendages or hair, and a pumpkin for a body bowed for the crowd.

Leon approved. "You defeated the Gyrados that I struggled with. This should be amusing. Rillaboom, Acrobatics!"

Diantha refused to let that super effective attack go through. "Seed Bomb!"

Rillaboom smacked through it. "Quick, Phantom Force!"

Gourgeist slipped underneath a shadow before the gorilla could smack them.

"Follow her shadow, then attack with Knock Off!"

Diantha directed her movements accurately. When Rillaboom saw a force about to rise from the group it jumped up and swung, only for her Pokemon to stop and dive back down, leaving Rillaboom wide open for her to smack it away.

"Now, Trick or Treat!" Gourgeist formed white spheres while ghostly jack o lanterns behind her got released and flew into Rillaboom, giving it the Ghost type.

"I see now. Playing with a double edged sword."

"Wouldn't be the first time I've had to roll the dice in a role."

"Rillaboom, Drum Beating!"

"Gourgeist, Phantom Force and prepare your Seed Bomb!"

Gourgeist dove in a shadow, zig zagging while the roots from the battlefield swung at her escape route into the sky. Knowing what could happen next, she directed her Pokemon for specific instructions, and rose up to shoot the Seed Bomb. By the time Rillaboom uset its drum set to block, she rose up from the Phantom Force, using her hair appendages to latch onto the other hand and toss them away.

Jessie cheered. "Don't waste this. Let's go Gourgeist! Win this and the whole battle!"

Hop wasn't worried. "Big bro's not out of this just yet!"

"Shadow Sneak!"

"High Horsepower!"

Shadow Streak followed Rillaboom, who flipped over and dodged it's strike before racing back at Gourgeist.

"Another Shadow Sneak to match his blow."

"Knock Off!"

The ghostly shadow and Rillaboom's good fist slapped each other, leaving them wide open for Seed Bomb to rely on their weakened hand to block the explosion pushing them back. Leon sensed the pain and concocted his own idea too crazy to work.

"High Acrobatics!"

"What?"

Rillaboom glowed orange but leaped up as if it was Acrobatics, rolling down and jumping lower to the ground to lunge.

"Phantom Force!"

Gourgeist escaped into the shadows, allowing Rillaboom to get control of their Drum Set next, playing the beat and focusing on the movements of the stadium around them.

Then she rose up, Leon commanded it to use Knock Off, and the gorilla's fist glowed, uppercutting the pumpkin Pokemon into the sky.

"Acrobatics!"

Rillaboom jumped up glowing blue, striking Gourgeist with a mighty drop kick. They dropped down.

"Finish it partner, Drum Beat!"

"Gourgeist, hurry and escape with Phantom Force!"

Rillaboom played and the roots sprung from around the ground, smacking Gourgeist up in the air and conjoining around her, smacking her back and forth until a final swing brought her down to the floor.

The referee flew over when the dust settled. "Gourgeist is unable to battle!"

Diantha sighed. "Thank you my friend," returning her Pokemon back to her Poke Ball. "We'll avenge your defeat."

She threw out her new Pokemon. "Go, Aurorus!"

The Tundra Pokemon in plue skin, light blue underbelly, and sails down it's back, lightly roaring.

"My friend, will you help us avenge our fallen performers?" Aurorus nodded at her. "Let's do it then, Blizzard!"

Aurorus fired a deadly force of icy wind aimed directly at the gorilla, who lifted up their drum kit to shield themselves. However, their arms were immediately frozen solid.

Leon's smile faded. "Return!" His PokeBall teleported his Pokemon out before taking out a new one. "Aegislash, it's Champion Time!"

"That's Steel/Ghost type against a Rock/Ice type. Type matchups aren't going to make this easy for her."

Ash had an optimistic look. "Something tells me she'll figure something out."

"Aegislash! Sacred Sword." The Royal Sword Pokemon unleashed it's blade and launched itself at the dinosaur.

"Reflect!"

It summoned a shining rainbow colored round barrier in front of i, somewhat suppressing the damage from it's sword.

"Now, Rock Slide at the sword and shield!" They summoned a rain of rocks from the side Aegislash could not easily avoid, forcing Leon to call out to use the Sacred Sword to slice them away.

"Light Screen." Aurorus formed four square barriers in front of itself by the time their opponent finished. "Now, Blizzard!"

"King's Shield," blocking the entire blast of ice and wind. However, Diantha's keen eyes noticed a certain detail.

"I have an idea my friend, but for now, use Rock Slide!"

"Flash Cannon!" The silver laser burst through the rocks, with the Light Screen reducing it's damage output enough for the dinosaur to not be too bothered by it. "Shadow Ball!"

"Charge your Blizzard," waiting until the Light Screen hit Aurorus's face away. "Aim for the ground and release it!"

Aurorus launched the blizzard at the ground, and the entire field became a frozen tundra akin to a winter wonderland.

"Interesting, Shadow Ball then Sacred Sword!"

"Blizzard, quick, then slide under the ice!"

The dinosaur froze the orb of darkness into a small orb and kicked it alongside them as they ducked underneath the blad.

"Now strike the shield with the Shadow Ball!!"

"Oh no, King's Shield, quick!"

It was too late as Aurorus kicked her single projectile into the path between the blade and shield, preventing it from returning.

"Swords Stance into Attack!"

"Rock Slide before it pierces the shield!"

The rock smashed down as Aegislash blade grew, being forced to slash them apart. By the time it was over, Aurorus' mouth was on the Shield and flung it into Aegislash's body, stunning it.

"A good defense is only as good as its offense! Finish it off with your strongest Blizzard!"

"Sacred Sword, cut through the icy cold winds!"

Despite Leon's pleas, Aegislash's sword could quell the wind until the temperature overwhelmed it, freezing parts of it solid. It was too late and standing above it, Diantha called for Rock Slide, ending Aegislash's HP.

The referee came over. "Aegislash is unable to battle!"

Goh and Hop's eyes met. "She-she pulled it off!"

Ash grinned. "She's not a champion for nothing."

Hop gulped. "Big bro might actually struggle."

Leon laughed. "Three Pokemon down. That hasn't happened in quite a while. You really surprised me!"

"Was it worthy of your Champion Time," curtseying while Aurorus bowed.

"Truly," throwing his Pokemon out, revealing Rillaboom.

"A bit too eager for an encore, aren't they?"

"Perhaps. Rillaboom, Acrobatics!"

Rillaboom jumped from the pillars of ice created from the ice. Diantha called out for Rock Slide, and Leon ensured the path to victory. He called for Rillaboom to hop from rock to rock, leaping all the way closer to Aurorus.

"Use Blizzard!"

"Endure it and use Knock Off!"

Rillaboom's hands were frozen solid shielding itself and the rest of its body from the cold wrapping over their arms even more. However, the gorilla dropped its ice encased arms down on Aurorus. A yell of Acrobatics later, and Rillaboom sprung down on their knees and smashed it away to the other side of the field.

Aurorus's waning strength started to show signs of about to fall.

"Light Screen! Reflect!"

"Let's end this now! Rilla, High Horsepower!"

Rillaboom glowed orange while Aurorus summoned both shields before the gorilla shoulder tackled Aurorus to their neck, and body slammed them to the ice ground floor.

The referee checked over to see the fainting eyes. "Aurorus is unable to battle!"

Diantha closed her eyes. "Thank you my friend. You put on a wonderful show."

Down to two Pokemon, Diatha remembered her statement at the start. Alain, Steven, Lance and Iris all fought hard to get to this point.

"This battle is reaching its climax. Goodra, let's ignite the crowd!"

She summoned the Purple and Lavender Dragon Pokemon, ready to initiate the final rounds of the battle.
