Hanji's POV

(F/n)'s ring...it's back? But how?!

I quickly ran out the door to find Levi.

Once I made it to his office, I ran right in.

"Shorty, (f/n)'s ring...it's back!" I panted.

"What are you talking about?" He looked up at me with a confused look.

"I mean, I went to go check on (f/n) and her ring was just on her finger!"

Levi's POV

Shit...it's been four days now and I'm getting really scared that (f/n) won't wake up.

I would always be in the infirmary room with her, but Hanji would make me leave so I could do my paperwork.

God, I was so worried for her. What's even going on inside of her head?

"(F/n)...(f/n) please, wake up...I need you...I'm hurting without you here...I need to hear your voice again. (F/n) wake up, please! (F/n)!"

I felt my eyes start to burn up, and I realized it was tears. I looked up at the ceiling and held them back, holding her hand tighter.

"(F/n)...please..." I whispered.

Soon enough, I heard the door open. Looking away, I made sure my eyes were dry before I made contact with whoever came in.

"She's still not awake?"

It was shitty-glasses.

"No...are you sure she's going to wake up?" I asked.

"Oh...Levi...were you crying?" Hanji asked with a look of pity.

"I wasn't. Now answer my question." I snapped, shifting my gaze back over to (f/n).

"I'm sorry Levi, but I don't know when she'll wake up. Don't worry, I'm sure she'll wake up soon though." She smiled, coming over to me and gave me a hug from behind.

What was weird, was that I didn't push her away. I guess I just really needed some reassurance.

"Come on Levi, we should let her be and maybe she'll wake up later." Hanji said when she pulled away. I nodded in agreement and followed her out of the infirmary room.

(F/n)'s POV

"(F/n)...(f/n) please, wake up...I need you...I'm hurting without you here...I need to hear your voice again. (F/n) wake up, please! (F/n)!"

I heard everything around me, all of a sudden. The last thing I heard was Hanji telling Levi that they should leave.

I couldn't open my eyes though, and let them know that I was okay. I couldn't do anything.

All I could do was listen.

Time Skip

Out of nowhere, I felt myself twitch a little. I started twitching some more until I started breathing heavily.

I finally opened my eyes as a gasp escaped, and I inhaled deeply. "L-Levi..." I whispered, sitting up.

My vision was a bit blurry but I saw a figure out of the corner of my eye.

Once my vision cleared some more, I saw a male cadet with a clipboard turn around and look at me.

"Are you alright?" He asked, walking over to me.

My eyes darted around the room, I had no idea where I was.

"L-Levi...I need Levi." I spoke, looking back over at the cadet.

"May I ask why you need-"

"JUST GET YOUR ASS OUT OF HERE AND BRING ME LEVI!" I screamed in his face.

His eyes widened as he quickly got up and left.

I felt something on my finger, so I looked.

"My ring...it's back...?" I furrowed my eyebrows.

A few minutes passed and I heard some footsteps nearing outside the door.

Just then, Levi ran in and froze in the doorway.

"(F/n)..." He whispered, a grin now forming on his lips.

Tears started to form in my eyes as he came over to me, wrapping me in a tight hug.

After our long hug, which I didn't want to end, I noticed my lack of clothing. I looked down and saw that there was just a bandage wrapped around my chest.

"Um...Levi, can you explain this?" I gestured to my chest. "Oh, Hanji had to remove your cloths for the checkup." He explained and I nodded.

"(F/n), I'm so happy that you're awake and not dead, but we need to talk about something..." He said in a serious tone.

"What is it?" I asked as he sat down next to me on the bed.

"Hanji saw all of your scars when she did the checkup...and I saw them too." He bluntly stated.

"Oh my God..." I mumbled, covering my mouth.

"Care to explain the burn scars?" He asked.

My eyes started to well up and I began the story...

"Isabel and I have been keeping a secret from you..."

"What-...Isabel...?" He furrowed his eyebrows with confusion. I bit my bottom lip and nodded, not making eye contact with him.

"Levi...I've been lying to you about my past. Whenever you would ask if I was okay...I never really was. The truth is...my father would beat me." A tear escaped my eye, rolling down my cheek.

I closed my eyes and took a deep breath. I felt Levi wipe away the stray tear as I opened my eyes again to continue.

"When I was twelve, I finally told Isabel about my situation. One day when I got home from the market after telling her, my father was be-beating my mother for the t-third time that week."

I paused and glanced over at Levi. He had a look of sorrow which broke my heart.

"He h-urt me the most that day...out of all the other t-times. He...choked me...cut me...and," I started to cry harder and Levi wrapped his arms around me, pulling me into his chest.

"Shh...it's okay..." He soothed me, stroking my hair.

"I saw the mark on your neck...is that from him choking you?" He quietly asked. I nodded my head against him and a few more tears spilled.

"That's when...m...my mother died..." I whispered."

I felt Levi tense up and slowly pull away so he could see my face.

"W-what?" He asked.

"My father killed her."

I looked down and Levi hugged me again, burying his face into my neck.

"(F/n)...why didn't you want me to know?"

"I don't know..." I whispered, barely audible.

"W-where did you go after that?"

"Isabel told the MPs about my father and they came in just after my mother was killed. She promised me she wouldn't tell anyone...but she did anyway. The MPs took him away and they took me to a foster home in wall Rose. My foster mother also beat me and the other girls there...that's where the burn scars came from. When I "disrespected" her, she would take a branding iron from the fireplace and press it against my skin."

"That's awful..."

"I-I'm sorry, L...Levi..." I whimpered.

"Why are you sorry, you did nothing wrong...?"

"I'm sorry...I-I didn't want you to f-find out this way." I sobbed, wiping my eyes.

"It's alright, (f/n). You know this doesn't mean I love you any less." He kissed my forehead.

"I guess I should tell you about Isabel and Farlan, now that you've told me where you disappeared to. Since that was the deal, anyway." Levi sighed, looking down at the floor.

"You don't have to..." I quietly spoke, looking over at him. "No, I should. You wanted to know anyway."

Levi's POV

"It happened a year ago, after we got caught..."

Flashback

It was our first expedition outside of the walls.

"I didn't know rain could be this heavy!" Isabel exclaimed.

"Neither. We won't even be able to see any Titans before it's too late!" Farlan replied.

"This is our chance. We'll use this rain as cover and get close to Erwin."

"Levi!"

"Are we gonna go for it, bro?"

"Yeah. But it'd be suspicious if all three of us were to break away at once. I'll go alone."

"True. It's probably best not to carelessly move around."

"Alright, fine. We're counting on you, bro! Go and secure our surface citizenship!"

"If anyone asks, tell them I went to survey the terrain."

"Got it!"

I rode off ahead, looking behind me and saw Isabel wave as I left.

I was no longer able to see them, for the fog got thicker.

Just you wait, Erwin Smith. I'll kill you with these two hands!

I stopped my horse just in time as I saw a cliff.

There were a bunch of dead bodies and detached limbs around this area.

"What the hell...happened here?" I asked myself.

I heard someone shoot a flare signal to my right. I looked over and it was a black one. An abnormal.

"The Titan..." The cadet who shot the flare, weakly said before falling over.

"No way...did we pass each other?"

I snapped the reins on my horse and dashed to find the Titan.

The rain was getting heavier and my horse tripped over a body and slid on it's side.

When we landed, my horse got right back up...but I stayed on my knees.

There in front of me...was Isabel's head.

I heard a Titan and I watched as it spit out Farlan. But only his waist and up.

I sat there in horror...taking everything in before I made the first attack.

I used my 3DMG and flew up before coming back down and slicing more of the Titan.

I spun around the Titan some more, cutting deep into it's flesh.

Screaming with agony, I finally decapitated the damn thing.

When I got back to the ground, I stood there as a few tears rolled down my cheeks. Looking down at what was left of Isabel.

And that's when commander Erwin and the others came over...

Flashback End

(F/n)'s POV

I was in shock...more tears were spilling as it was now my turn to comfort Levi.

"I can't believe this..." I whispered.

"I shouldn't have left them alone...it's all my fault that they're dead..." Levi muttered.

"N-no, it's not you're fault at all!" I disagreed, pulling away.

"It's not your fault..." I repeated.

Just then, the door opened and Hanji walked inside.

"Levi, I saw that you weren't in your office but I came her-" She looked up from a clipboard she had and gasped.

"(F/n)...you're awake!" She exclaimed, coming over to my side and squeezing me in a death hug.

"H-Hanji...I kind of can't breath..." I weakly said.

"Sorry!" She let go and smiled.

"Hey...how long was I out?" I asked. "Four days." She answered.

"Oh my God..." I mumbled.

"That doesn't matter now, but how do you feel?" She furrowed her brows.

"Wait! What's wrong...why are both of your eyes puffy?"

"N-nothing, Hanji. And I feel fine." I answered, averting my gaze.

"Alright. Well now that you're up, I would suggest that you rest some more." Hanji got up, heading towards the door.

"I'll be back to check on you. But do you need anything...like water or food?" She asked.

"No thanks, maybe later." I grinned. She nodded and left. Levi got up as well, but I grabbed his wrist before he got too far.

"Can you...stay with me?" I looked up at him.

A faint smile graced his lips as he lied down next to me.

"Of course I'll stay with you." He whispered, wrapping his arms around me and pulling me closer to him.

Time Skip

My eyes fluttered open and I saw Levi still sleeping. I looked up at the wall clock, it was eleven at night now. I lied my head back down and I heard the door creak open.

I looked up and saw Hanji tip-toe in, "Need anything now?" She whispered.

"Water would be nice." I grinned.

"I'm on it!" She walked back out the door and down the hall.

A minute later, she returned, handing me the glass. "Thanks." I smiled, taking a sip before setting it on the nightstand next to the bed.

"No problem, need anything else?" "No thanks." I replied and she left.

Soon enough, I fell back asleep, in Levi's arms.

I'm glad I'm back here in your arms, Levi...

Amazing how easy this chapter was to write! (Up until the end, that part was a bit tricky)

I didn't think I would have an immediate idea for this chapter until like a few weeks but I got one!

It took a few hours but hey, it was well worth it.
