12- Ring

(F/n)'s POV

Waking up to warmth on my face, I opened my eyes to almost be blinded by the light. I squinted my eyes and got out of bed, closing the curtains.

Damn sun, always waking me up like this.

As I was stretching I glanced at the wall clock. "7:21..." I mumbled, stretching again.

Wait a minute...

I did a double take, looking back at the clock. "OH SHIT!" I shouted, not caring if anyone heard me. I scrambled around my room trying to get ready.

"Fuck, I am SO late for training!" I muttered, putting on my straps. After I finished doing the straps, I put on my scouts jacket and boots.

Looks like I'm gonna have to skip breakfast today.

I ran out the door, while doing my hair in my signature (hairstyle). While I was running down the hall, I managed to dodge some cadets that I zipped passed.

"Sorry!" I hollered after I almost crashed into someone. I rounded a corner and I was getting closer to the front entrance.

Don't worry! You're almost to the training grounds.

Just as I was about to burst through the doors, I felt someone grab my arm, jerking it back.

As I was being pulled back, I turned around and stepped backwards, causing me to trip and fall to the ground.

When we landed on the ground, I opened one eye and saw him lying on top of me with wide eyes and furrowed brows.

A small blush spread on my cheeks as he said, "Why the hell are you running through the halls, (f/n)?"

"I accidentally slept in...so I was trying to get to training b-before it got any later." I hesitated. He rolled his eyes, pecking my lips before getting off of me and holding an arm out.

"Levi..." I sighed, grabbing his hand as he pulled me up to my feet again. "I'll see you later." He said, walking away.

"Okay." I replied barely audible, walking outside now.

I still can't get over the fact that he's felt this way about me for years!

When I got outside, I was greeted by Hanji. "(F/N)!!!!" She squealed. "What?" I asked after covering my ears before I went deaf.

She started giggling like a maniac and grabbed both of my hands, jumping up and down. "What are you so happy about?" She wouldn't quit bouncing.

"I'M SO EXCITED! I THOUGHT THIS DAY WOULD NEVER COME!" She cheered.

Okay...there's two possibilities that she could be talking about...

"And what would that be?" I finally yanked my hands out of her tight grasp. "YOU AND LEVI OF COURSE! I THOUGHT HE WOULD NEVER FIND LOVE!" She shouted, making my squad look over at me with disgust.

Thanks a lot, Hanji.

I quietly sighed, looking down at the ground. "(F/n), you have NO idea about how he would not shut up when he would ramble on and on about you." She smirked, nudging my shoulder with her elbow.

"...Huh...?" I looked back up from the ground at her with confusion. "Yeah! Before you joined the scouts, he would always tell me about you!" She smiled, wrapping an arm around me.

"Like what?"

I had no idea he told Hanji about me.

"Well, I may have begged him to tell me stories about your life in the underground every night." She quietly chuckled.

"But he stopped telling me stories of when you disappeared. Which speaking of...do you mind telling me where you went?"

Sly move, Hanji. But it's not going to work.

I rolled my eyes, walking away so I could train. "Sorry, you're out of luck!" I shouted to her before I started training.

Hanji's POV

"Sorry, you're out of luck!" (F/n) shouted to me as she ran off, probably to train.

Dammit! Why won't she tell me?! And no, Levi did not ask me to try and pry into her past.

I inaudibly sighed, thinking about all the stories Levi told me about them in the underground.

"Come on Levi, won't you please tell me how you two met?" I begged for what seemed like ages. "Fine." He rolled his eyes, leaning back in his chair.

"Yay!" I brightly smiled, calming myself down so I could hear the story being told. "Let's see..." He mumbled, looking up at the ceiling.

I scooted my chair closer to his and held my head up on my knuckles. "We met about seven to eight years ago. I guess we sort of-"

"Squad leader, Hanji!" I heard a cadet shout.

Aw man! Did he really have to interrupt me during a flash back?

"Yes?" I asked, turning around.

"Commander Erwin sent me to retrieve you. He would like to see you in his office immediately." The cadet saluted.

"Okay, thanks!" I smiled, skipping inside of HQ to Erwin's office.

Time Skip

(F/n)'s POV

Training was finally over for today. It was already afternoon so I went inside for a late lunch. As I was walking down the hall, I saw Hanji walk out of the commander's office.

By the look on her face, I could tell something was up. She almost never wore a serious face! "Hey, Hanji!" I smiled, trying to put her at ease.

"Hello, cadet." She mumbled, not looking at me whatsoever.

Hmm...strange.

"What's wrong?" I frowned, wanting to know why she was acting weird.

"...Nothing that concerns you, cadet (l/n)." She sighed, stopping in place to look at me. I stopped as well and turned to look at her.

Hanji gave me a small, weak smile before walking away.

I hope she's okay...

I shrugged it off, continuing my way to the mess hall. This time, when I got to the mess hall doors, someone stopped me.

"Hey," I looked over my shoulder and saw Levi behind me. "Hi!" I smiled, turning around to face him.

Levi grabbed my left hand, making me blush. "Levi~ I still can't believe that you like me." I whispered the end.

I watched as his eyes went from happiness to confusion. "Levi...what's wrong?" I asked, tilting my head to the side a bit.

He looked down at my hand and ran his thumb across my index finger. "What are you-" I noticed what he was trying to tell me.

"Where's your ring? Don't you always wear it and never take it off?" He looked back up at me.

"I do always wear it...but I don't know why I didn't put it back on..." I mumbled. "I must have left it in my dresser by accident." I added.

"Okay. 'Cause I know how much it means to you, and I don't want you losing it." He showed an almost unnoticeable smile before going into the mess hall.

Time Skip

When lunch finished, I ran back to my room and literally threw everything out of my dresser. "Where is it, where is it, where is it, where is it?!" I started to panic when I almost threw everything out.

There was no sign of my ring anywhere, however. "DAMMIT!" I shouted, shoving my things back inside and slamming the drawers closed.

I walked over to my bed, flopping on top of it. "Fuck!" I yelled into my pillow.

"I'm so screwed." I muttered.
