Y/F/N = Your First Name

"Bail is denied. Y/F/N's trial will be held on Friday, July 10th. Court adjourned."

Your heart dropped as the judge banged the gavel on his desk. You had been framed for the brutal murder of a teenage girl who just happened to be your high school nemesis. The evidence was overwhelming. Of course, your friends at Community General Hospital knew that you were innocent. They just hadn't figured out a way to prove it yet.

Your head was swimming. Your vision blurred with tears. You held them back. You couldn't cry. You couldn't let them see you cry. You couldn't let him see you cry. Out of the corner of your eye, your nemesis smirked at you and left the courtroom. You swallowed hard, clenching your fists. You looked at your friends, Mark, Amanda, and Steve. They all looked worried for you. Amanda's eyes were red and puffy from silent crying. Mark gave you a sympathetic look. Steve looked disappointed and, for the first time since you met him, scared. Then there was Jesse. Sweet, sweet Jesse. He was clutching Amanda's hand like it was his lifeline, looking at you from across the courtroom with his big, brown eyes filled with what they usually showed when he looked at you. Love and innocence. Except there were a few new things in his eyes that you noticed. Fear, anger, and sadness. Fear for losing you, anger for whoever framed you, and sadness at the thought of you leaving.

You couldn't bare to face them all. You didn't ask to say goodbye before a policeman grabbed a hold of your arm. Steve had been too heartbroken to take you in. You looked at your friends one last time before the policeman started dragging you away. Mark and Steve turned and began walking away as the people in the courtroom dispersed. Amanda kissed Jesse's cheek in a sisterly manner and followed Mark and Steve. Jesse stood in place, watching the police take you away, feeling helpless. He wanted so badly to tell you how he felt. How he had been in love with you ever since you started working with Steve at the police department. However, he decided that you were better off without him. He thought that he had been in too many relationships to function properly and treat you right, so he stayed quiet. Now, as he watched you being taken away, he realized that he was wrong, but it wasn't too late. Before he could stop himself, he blurted out, "I love you, Y/F/N!" Everyone in the courtroom stopped and turned around to stare at him. Even the police who were holding you relaxed their grip and stared at Jesse. Your heart felt fluttery. You could hardly believe what was happening.

"What," you breathed. Jesse ran up to you and took your face in his hands. "I love you, Y/N," he whispered, tearing up. "I love you. I was too scared to tell you- b-because I thought that you wouldn't wanna talk to me anymore. A-And then you were framed by that maniac and I...I couldn't bare to watch you walk away without telling you how I felt. I am in love with you, Y/F/N." His pupils dilated with intense desperation and admiration. Jesse wanted nothing more than to hold you in his arms and kiss you and keep you with him. He wanted to tell you that everything was going to be okay. But he didn't know if it was going to be okay. You smiled sadly and pressed your lips against his. Jesse's eyes widened in shock. This all felt like a dream. But he knew that it was real. He smiled into the kiss, closing his eyes and running his fingers through your hair, snaking his arm around your waist. You wrapped your arms around his neck, drinking him in, taking in this one last moment of bliss before you were to be taken to your doom.

It felt like eternity before you pulled away from a desperate Jesse. He was usually chipper and ever so childish. You loved his corny jokes and his naiveness. You also loved his brain and the way he saw things that no one else could. The way he saw you in ways that no one else could. Now, resting your forehead against his, you looked into his teary, desperate eyes. "I love you," he whispered. You put your hands on his cheeks and wiped his tears away. "I know," you said, softly. Jesse tucked a loose strand of hair behind your ear. "I will always love you," he said. "I'm gonna get you outta this. You're not a murderer. We're all gonna help you. Everything is gonna be okay." You chuckled sadly and kissed him again. "As long as you promise to always love me, then everything will be okay," you said, smiling softly. "Promise?" Jesse smiled sadly, kissing the bridge of your nose. "I promise," he whispered. Amanda, Mark, and Steve watched the scene with teary eyes. Jesse clutched your arm as the police began dragging you away.

"No," he said, breathlessly. "You can't do this. She's innocent!" You gave Jesse a warning look as Mark and Amanda attempted to pry him off of you. When they failed, Steve picked Jesse up gently and laid him over his shoulder. You turned away as the guards led you out of the courtroom, blocking out Jesse's screams and cries, trying to remember the good times that you had with your friends, as you were being brought to prison.

Administrator Note: This is my first attempt at writing an imagine. I've never really done anything with the reader involved in a story. Diagnosis Murder is such an underappreciated TV show and Jesse Travis is such an underappreciated character, so that is how this came about. I wanted to do something more mysterious and humerous, but naturally, with me, angst and romance always comes to mind first, so I had to write this. I'll definitely be writing light-hearted ones though! I hope that you enjoyed this! And please feel free to request!

Also, my admiration for Jesse Travis may or may not have spilled while I was writing this. (It exploded).
