- At The Same Night -

At Mukami Mansion

Yui are now in Ruki room along with the rest Mukami brothers.

There's Ruki lying on bed unconscious with a bandage around his chest and stomach.

Yui: Ruki-kun... *worried* How did this happen?

Azusa: He... protected me. Because of me, Ruki...

Kou: It's not your fault, Azusa-kun. It couldn't be helped under the circumstances.

Yuma: It was too sudden.

Yuma then tell Yui about what happened few hours ago.

Yui: Why did the wolves attack?

Kou: I know, it's weird. But we have no idea either.

She look at Ruki in sad gaze.

Yui: 'Ruki-kun...'

At Main Hall

The Mukami brothers at outside while Yui inside the room, wait for Ruki to wake up.

Azusa: It's because of Ruki... That we...

Kou: We spent most of our lives suffering, but when the four of us were together...

Yuma: We had good times as well.

Azusa: We did...

They silently staring blankly as they remember every moments they had together.

Yuma: ...

Kou: ...

Azusa: ...

At Ruki's Room

Ruki slowly woke up in his bed, his sight slightly blur.

Ruki: ..?

Yui: Ruki-kun...

Ruki: 'Lilith?..'

Once he could see her face properly, he went instantly disappointed as he see Yui instead of Y/n.

Ruki: W-What are you doing here?..

He said weakly.

Yui: I heard you got hurt, and I was worried--

Ruki: *Look away* Who the hell do you think you are to worry about me? Don't bother.

Yui went silent for moment before speak up again.

Yui: About the Adam and Eve plan--

Ruki: *Grip his fist* Shut up.

Yui: Why? You were trying to become Adam, right?

Ruki: I told you to shut up.

Yui: If you're worried about that, don't hold everything in. You should at least talk to the others.

Ruki: What good will talking do?! Nothing will change.

Yui: But--

Ruki: It won't change! We can't be Adam. None of us can.

Yui: ?..

Ruki: We needed to accomplish this plan for him, no matter what it took. That's why we needed your and Lilith's blood.

He look up at ceiling.

Ruki: But I eventually realized something. No matter how much of your and her blood I take, nothing will change. I cannot be awakened.

He slowly sit up, carefully.

Ruki: So I've reached a conclusion. We non-purebloods cannot become Adam. Only pureblood vampires are given the right to be Adam.

Yui: 'Ruki-kun...'

Ruki: Funny, right? In other words, we were trying to achieve something impossible from the start. There's no way I can tell them that.

Yui: You think so?.. It's possible that they've actually figured it out already. That you've been struggling on your own because you can't be Adam.

Ruki: ?..

Yui: They all told me how you always put them first.

Ruki: !..

He suddenly remember his memories with his brothers, a nostalgia hit him.

His gaze soften, then scoff.

Ruki: To think I've been cheered up by livestock.

Yui: ?

Ruki: That's true... If we don't discard the possibility, maybe...

Yui: *Smile*
