ContentsAppearance

Kou has a handsome, beautiful face. He has blond hair with his bangs covering the top right side of his face. His left eye is light blue and his right eye is red. He wears earrings on both ears.

He usually wears a long sleeve black shirt that has circles in the front and black bordering the top and bottom. He sometimes wears it with a pink jacket with short sleeves. He wears it with blue jeans. He also wears a necklace and bracelets on his left arm.

His school uniform consists of the black school blazer with the sleeves rolled up to his elbow and a white dress shirt underneath that is slightly unbuttoned revealing a maroon shirt with four yellow diamonds on it. There are two red belts along the bottom of the shirt. He wears black pants that go up to his knee with long black socks with the right one having a vertical row of diamonds on it. He wears it with white boots that have some black detail on them. He also has a gold diamond-shaped necklace that has two curves sticking out at the top with a red jewel in the centre and two long strands at the bottom. He also wears bracelets on both arms.

In LOST EDEN, Kou's school uniform consists of the dark red school blazer over a pale yellow gym jacket and a white dress shirt underneath. He wears the black school scarf in a ribbon style around his neck which is fastened with a gold heart-shaped brooch. He wears black pants along with tall white boots.

Personality

He appears friendly, but he's actually very selfish and two-faced. Anything surrounding this idol Do-S (extreme sadist) is always at his mercy. He uses his handsome, beautiful face to his own advantage.

Due to his brutal childhood, Kou can easily switch his cheery and easy going usual appearance of a superficial person and an idol, to a vicious and very cruel merciless monster who doesn't understand at all, the very meaning of love. Thinking that all of the humans are vile creatures who either want to use and abuse, or be used if they are paid for that.

History

As a human child, he was abandoned in a manhole and never knew anything about his parents or where he had come from. In LOST EDEN, it was revealed that Kou was actually born into an aristocratic family. His parents were exiled during the war, and they were unable to take Kou with them. They entrusted him to a nanny who later abandoned him in a manhole when she was unable to continue taking care of him. Since he had spent most of his early life living in the sewers, Kou would always dream of obtaining the blue sky he saw above. One day, soldiers randomly shot a mother and her child in front of Kou, believing to be making them examples to potential rebels due to a war which was going on in the country. Kou didn't understand what was going on or what the soldiers who found him intended to do to him. When they saw his face, they sent him to the orphanage. Upon arriving there, he received good food, clean clothes, and all the nice things he wasn't able to have in the sewers. Kou thought of the orphanage as heaven.

Young Kou

Then Kou was taken to a "club" where he was whipped, cut, beaten and tortured, physically abused in all possible ways by the aristocrats. Due to the war, the country needed money. To earn quick money to fund the war, the orphanage selected and sent the beautiful looking orphans like Kou to those clubs, offering them up as merchandise and "entertainment" for the aristocrats. He was so in-demand that his bruises and wounds didn't have time to heal. Kou didn't want to think that his beating was painful, believing he should be happy because he could have nice things and it was also because he was repaid for that treatment. This caused Kou to grow up believing that the world is about "give-and-take".

Eventually, he accepted that the situation he was in was basically hell. In an attempt to stop the orphanage from making him continue as an aristocrat's toy, he lamented that his right eye might never see the blue sky he craved again. He decided to disfigure himself by gouging out his right eye. Unfortunately, that only made the aristocrats desire him more. Kou realized that he made a mistake, and he feared that his situation would only get worse.

Kou tried to commit suicide but realized that he was unable to kill himself. It was then when he met Ruki, who called him a loser. Kou denied that and tried to kill himself, (Ruki even dared him to) but again, was unable to do so, as Ruki expected. Ruki told Kou that the reason he was unable to commit suicide despite desperately wanting to escape his situation was because he still had hope. Ruki knew this because he often caught Kou staring at the sky. Ruki told Kou that if he gave up that hope, he would be nothing more than a loser. Ruki invited Kou to come with him if he wanted to be free from his hell and they became friends.

Kou, later on, met Yuma and Azusa became friends with them as well. The four planned their escape which was initially successful, but the orphanage staff caught up to them. Kou was shot and injured multiple times, but the staff didn't care, because Kou's patrons liked him the more damaged he was. However, Kou was already near the brink of death by the time he was brought back to the orphanage, much to the dismay of the staff and the Facility Director. As Kou's life faded, he cried that he didn't want to die until he was able to see the free blue sky that he desired. Karlheinz soon appeared with the offer to make him and his brothers vampires if they agree to serve him.

Karlheinz turned the Mukami brothers into vampires, and gave Kou a new magic eye. His eye is and seems, to be like a jewel but it also allowed Kou to see the truth by reading the heart of humans. Karlheinz told him that he received the eye because he knew that Kou had trouble believing in other people besides his brothers and him. This would make it hard for Karlheinz"s "Adam and Eve" plan to happen if Kou was incapable of bonding. However, Karlheinz warned him to not to rely on the eye too much, as it would cause him to lose sight of what was really important to him. He also added that when Kou is matched with a certain blood and understands a certain truth, the eye would show him a miracle.

Although Kou doesn't completely understand the purpose of Karl's plans and experiments, feeling indebted for life, he plans to serve him unconditionally. Which later gives him many struggles when he realizes an impure vampire like him cannot become "Adam".

RelationshipsFamily

Even though not related by blood, the Mukamis are very close with each other. Kou respects Ruki very much and always listens to his advice. Kou starts to feel despair that he is failing Karlheinz in unable to become that Adam, fearing that everything until now is pointless and the goal won't be reached, at least not for him. His brothers stand beside him and remind him that no matter what happens he will always and forever have them and they will always be there for him. Their family is very important for them and they protect each other and always cover each others backs, having more close to human-like bonds, far stronger than the true vampires have.

Kou respects and obeys his savior and master Karlheinz hoping to serve him well, who has shown far more concern for the Mukamis than his own sons, even though in truth everyone for him is simply a pawn for his experiments. Karlheinz had given Kou's magical eye to replace his missing one.

He was initially horrible to her at the beginning, such as making her fall victim to his fangirls after making out with her in front of them, or hurting her when she didn't follow his "give-and-take" motto. He also became frustrated when Yui pointed out that "money cannot buy everything" and resisted him. However, he slowly begins opening up to her after she finds out about his scars and his traumatic past. When he noticed that Yui was gradually starting to fall in love with him, he started "testing" her by constantly putting himself into danger to see "how far she would go" if she loves him. This resulted in him getting locked up in the dungeon as punishment for almost killing her. It was then when Yui decided to "test" him to see if he loves her which she did by almost slicing her neck. This was just enough for Kou to realise that he is in-love with her. In his Vampire Ending, he decides to betray Karlheinz by running away with her.

In Subaru's MORE BLOOD route, he appears more friendly and cheerful towards Yui, unlike in his own route. He also vowed to steal Yui from Subaru, no matter how long it would take him to do so. When Subaru started avoiding Yui, Kou took the opportunity to make advances towards her, but Yui rejected him as she was already in love with Subaru. This caused Kou to become jealous and he vowed not to give up. When Ruki asked him what attracted him to Yui, he replied "her blood", and Ruki told him that this was probably the reason why he lost to Subaru. It is then when Kou realised that he only caused a spark between Yui and Subaru, enabling them to get closer to one another. He also admits that his chest "hurts" at the thought of it, though he is comforted by Ruki. He approached Yui again and attempted to forcefully make her his, but Subaru interfered and they fought over her. In Subaru's Manservant Ending, when Subaru asked Kou what Yui is to him, he replied that she was a 'ticket' to enable him to become "Adam".

He plays the antagonistic role in Subaru's MORE BLOOD route. He is rivals with Subaru; Kou being jealous of Subaru's privileged life, while Subaru believes Yui would be better off with Kou who has more "self-control" with his thirst for blood. Whenever Kou approached Yui, Subaru easily got jealous. Their rivalry with each other soon becomes rivalry over Yui's affections. In Subaru's Manservant Ending, Kou is killed by Subaru, after he kidnapped Yui in order to make one final attempt to become "Adam".

In his MORE BLOOD route, Kou provoked Subaru by biting Yui right before his eyes, in order to find out how Subaru felt to have his "bait" stolen. This resulted in Subaru punching Kou across the face before biting Yui in front of him as payback.

However, they soon start to get along with each other in DARK FATE and LOST EDEN. In their perspective LOST EDEN routes, Kou helps Yui cheer Subaru up in Subaru's route, while in Kou's route, Kou helped Subaru when he was gravely injured.

Abilities

Like all vampires, he has an inhuman strength as well as increased speed,(less than a pure born vampire), increased vision, hearing and smell. Being a vampire, he also heals at an accelerated rate though still slower than the pure-blood vampires.

Magical eye

Kou's missing right eye was replaced by a magical one by Karlheinz. The magical eye normally appears blue at first sight but when Kou starts reading the heart of the person, to see if they are being truthful, it starts to change to red. It also starts blinking from red to blue when Kou gets overemotional.

Other

Impure vampires do not have the same amount of skills like pure ones, nor do they possess their own magic, however, Karlheinz borrows some for them, such as protective barrier and bat familiars.

However, due to being former humans, they are quite used to things like daylight and human food.

TriviaKou's surname Mukami means "godless" (無神).

He is left-handed.

His foot size is 26 cm.

His right eye is prosthetic which was given to him by Karlheinz.

It is also magical as it enables Kou to see into people's hearts - he can tell if they are lying or not.

He absolutely adores cats.

He is not very good at buttoning his shirts.

He obsesses over vongole bianco and can devour up to three servings in one go.

He has a birthmark in the shape of a lily flower, which he has to cover up during his idol work

.In CHAOS LINEAGE, he is a member of the Violet Family.

Prologue

Prologue

Two drunken men are hovering around a sewer and one needs to vomit. Looking into the hole, they find a boy living inside. The two drunk men comment on the smell and how dirty the child is and then walk away. The child is actually Kou who wants nothing more, but the blue skies. Back at the present, Kou comes into Yui's room with a present, a boquet of roses, as a "token of their acquaintance". Yui's shocked and Kou then goes on to say he wants to know more about Yui. However, her reaction doesn't fit the needs of Kou, putting him in a bad mood. To make matters worse, he can't believe Yui doesn't know who he is and explains to her that he's an idol. Back to the flowers, Yui's thankful, but Kou wants something in return: her blood. Yui refuses, so Kou takes back the roses and rips them apart petal by petal, crushing them on the floor. He then pin's Yui against the floor (Cue: CG) and commences with the blood sucking. Ruki pops by because Kou forgot to close the door and sees Kou's face covered in blood. Telling him to go wash it, he does and Ruki lectures Yui. Kou and Ruki then have a discussion about if their plan is possible.

Prologue

No.01

After school, Yui is approached by a male classmate who shyly asks her if he could borrow her math notes, having had been absent the previous day due to a cold. Yui knows that the boy doesn't talk much, but she agrees to lend him her notes, much to the latter's delight. Yui warns him that her writing may be hard to read, but the boy tells her that she writes beautifully until he spots a scribble causing Yui to get embarrassed and she tells him not to look at it. The boy then responds to her kindness by telling Yui that he'd like to be friends with her. He also compliments on how cute she is; indicating that he may be having a crush on her. He gets embarrassed and tells Yui that he will see her tomorrow and quickly leaves. After he is gone, Yui is left confused by what he just said.

Yui later returns to the Mukami household, a little disappointed that she wasn't able to walk home with Kou. Just as she is about to change out of her uniform, Kou suddenly appears in her room and he comments on how cheerful she is. When Yui gets confused, Kou explains that he overheard the boy telling her how cute she was. Kou tells her that she's not cute at all, and seeing how angry he is, Yui starts wondering if he is jealous. Kou suddenly pulls her towards him and orders her to smile, like she did with the boy, but Yui tells him that she has to laugh for she can't smile when there's nothing funny. Kou then bites her violently and comments on how she is able to smile in front of other guys before pulling out a knife and cutting her arm to mark that she belongs to him. He then asks her if he should cut her face into pieces, claiming that no one will look at her like that. Yui immediately responds that she understands and tells him to go ahead and cut her up. Stunned, Kou notices that she is smiling right now and gets irritated. In her mind, Yui realises that it isn't jealousy but a deep attachment and finds herself a bit happy about this.

Epilogue

In a flashback; Kou, Ruki, Yuma and Azusa have escaped the orphanage and are running through the woods. As Kou celebrates their escape, gunshots are heard and he collapses from a gunshot in the abdomen. His legs are shot to prevent him from running and the orphanage staff comment on how the aristocrats would love him even more in that state. He is later in the punishment cell where by now, he is close to death while the Facility Director comments on how unfortunate they are to have lost their "product". Karlheinz then appears before Kou and offers him eternal life as a vampire. At Karlheinz's mansion, he is given his magic eye. Karlheinz explains the purpose of the magic eye and tells Kou that he may have difficulty trusting humans. As for the eye, he warns Kou not to only believe the things he sees with the eye and that if he uses the eye wisely, it will lead him to something even more wonderful.

Back to the present, Yui is in the dungeon with Kou until Ruki appears and separates them. Ruki lectures Yui in the living room and also informs her that he has arranged for her to leave the Mukami household. Yui begs Ruki to let Kou out of the dungeon and Ruki agrees, but she is not allowed to see Kou or be near him, which she accepts. Later that night, Yui finds a trail of rose petals in the hallway. Curious, she follows the petals, which leads her into the garden where she finds Kou. When he sees her, he offers her a rose. Yui accepts the rose and is surprised that Kou didn't call for his trade-off like he would normally do. Kou tells Yui that he is happy when she accepts his gifts, but he doesn't know what to do afterwards. He also tells her that he doesn't understand why she doesn't want anything in return when he wanted to repay her for her kindness. Yui recalls how she used to be cautious of accepting gifts from Kou after when they first met (see Dark Prologue), but she now feels safe to accept things from him.

Kou finally reveals his magic eye to Yui, causing her understand why he sometimes misunderstood her words or actions. Kou tells Yui that he is now scared to read her heart, because he doesn't want to make the same mistakes again. Yui asks him if he would like to try reading her heart now, because she may be thinking the same thing as him. Kou worries that he might be wrong, but Yui tells him that if he is, then he can start over. He pulls Yui into his arms and tells her to scold him if he is wrong and they kiss. Yui quietly expresses how happy she is to finally declare her feelings for Kou. He begins to worry that Ruki would get angry if he is caught with her, but Yui tells him that they will be scolded together and that she isn't afraid.

Ending

No.01 - Vampire Ending

Kou in his room commenting on how nice 'love' is, but is interrupted when Yui awakes. He finally admits to Yui that he and his brothers are incapable of becoming "Adam" since they are not purebloods and he would hate it if she became "Eve" for another vampire, who is more suited to be "Adam". Kou then asks Yui if he told her that he wanted to run away, would she come with him? He tells her they will go to a place where she can remain as herself, though he considers this as betraying Karlheinz. Yui happily replies that she will go anywhere with him and they agree to run away together. Some time later, Kou visits Yui in her room and asks if she is ready to go, telling her that his brothers are at school so they can use this as a chance to run away. They then go to the balcony and he tells her to hold onto him, but they are caught by Ruki, who had foreseen that this would happen and he confronts Kou about betraying Karlheinz. Kou declares that his mind has made up, then takes out his knife and stabs out his magic eye. He tells Ruki to return it to Karlheinz and persuades him to overlook this, saying that he doesn't want to hurt him, because he is his brother. Seeing Kou's act, Ruki pulls out a knife and shatters the eye telling Kou that with this, he is dead and is now free.

He encourages Kou to go and watch the blue sky as much as he likes then leaves. Kou thanks Ruki for understanding his feelings then takes Yui and they fly off into the night sky. The scene changes to Karlheinz's mansion. Unbeknownst to Kou, Karlheinz is aware of his betrayal, but is not angry at all. He praises Kou for finally looking at the truth without using his right eye, and learning how to trust humans again. Karlheinz explains that it is "Eve" who chooses the vampire, and the vampire who receives and returns her love becomes "Adam". He tells Kou that he might be able to become "Adam" after all. Back to the present, Yui is amazed by Kou's ability to fly, and he replies it's because he's a vampire. When Yui asks him if he is really okay without his right eye, Kou says that he doesn't need it anymore for he has finally found the important thing. Yui then asks him where they will be going from here onwards and he tells her that they will go to a place where they can watch the blue sky as much as they like. They then reaffirm their love for one another and promise to be together forever as they fly off to their destiny.

No.02 - Manservant Ending

Kou is on the balcony doubting the definition of 'love', but then decides that it must be beautiful as the blue sky he dreamed of. The scene changes to the next day at school with Yui telling Subaru that she has decided to stay with the Mukami's, having had finally realised her feelings for Kou. Kou then appears and Subaru quickly makes his leave. In her mind, she is happy that Kou finally accepted her trust, but is interrupted by Kou who tells her that he wants to quickly get back to the mansion so that he can drink her blood. The scene changes to Kou's room, where Kou is sucking Yui's blood. In her mind, she sees Kou's urge for her blood as his proof of love. Kou suddenly complains that her skin is in the way, pulls out of knife and starts slicing her before realising that he is hurting her. Kou frantically asks Yui if she is okay, but she assures him that she is fine much to his shock. He quickly makes an excuse to get bandages for her and leaves. He goes to the bathroom instead and starts throwing up while asking himself if this is 'love', when all he does to Yui is end up hurting her. He then decides that 'love' is too disgusting and painful.

The next day, Yui bumps into Kou in the hallway and greets him with a good morning, but Kou doesn't even respond to her. Instead, he goes up to Yuma and questions him about homework. Yuma tries to avert Kou's attention to Yui, but he acts as though he doesn't see her at all. Seeing this, Ruki tells Yui that it seems as though Kou has finally realised that it is impossible for him to become "Adam" and that he still doesn't understand love. He also tells her that Kou has no use for her anymore, but she is welcome to stay in their mansion and is free to do whatever she wants now. Desperate to gain Kou's attention, Yui makes Kou's favourite dish, Vongole Bianco, but he still ignores her, causing Yui to wonder if Kou is purposely neglecting her because he loves her and doesn't want to hurt her. At school, she gets even more upset when she sees him happily talking to some schoolgirls and agreeing to hang out with them after school. One day, Kou returns home after hanging out with his fans and is confronted by Ruki, who asks him if things are going okay with Yui. Kou tries to avoid the question, but Ruki snaps at him to stop playing dumb and tells him that treating Yui like a non-existent has gone too far. Yuma appears and comments that she is just a boring eyesore now, followed by Azusa who says it's good but sad at the same time. Ruki informs Kou that unless he clearly refuses her, Yui will continue living with them. He also admits that he finds it aggravating to surrender to the Sakamaki's who are more suitable candidates to become "Adam". Kou starts worrying and asks if they have to return Yui to the Sakamaki's, saying she might die there, but Azusa tells him it's too late which confuses everyone. He explains that he just caught the scent of Yui's blood spilling somewhere outside, causing Kou to freak out and go searching for her.

He eventually finds her lying in the sewers covered in blood. Fortunately, Yui is alive and when Kou is about to ask her what had happened, he is cut off when Yui suddenly chains him. She tells Kou that he is being unfair; he wouldn't let her talk to others without his say (see Ecstacy 08), and yet he has the right to talk happily with other girls. Yui then taunts him about his magic eye being unable to see 'love' and she knows that he does love her, but he just doesn't see it. Kou replies that love is filthy and her current face is holding ugly and painful desires. She calls him stupid and pitiful, then promises to properly teach him 'human love' and how he is lucky to have someone who loves him. Finding himself powerless against Yui, Kou weakly tells her that he cannot love the current her now.

No.03 - Brute Ending

Yui is with Kou in the dungeon getting sliced by Kou. He tells her not to struggle so much, warning her that his hand might slip and she'll get even more hurt. Yui asks him why he is doing this and he replies that she enjoys his torments and pleasures now, and that he still doesn't understand love. Kou reminds Yui that she tested him by almost slicing herself with his knife and he wants to feel it over and over again. Yui starts to feel uneasy, but Kou tells her that he might understand something if he kills her and he cuts her chest with his knife. He happily drinks her blood and comments on how delicious it is coming from her heart, but Yui doesn't respond. Kou laughs and praises Yui for being quiet and he asks her if she would like to be rewarded with a kiss. Yui still doesn't respond. Kou gets agitated and starts slapping Yui in an attempt to wake her up, but to no avail.

He then asks her if she is dead until he notices that her heart has stopped. Upon realizing that he has killed her, Kou breaks down over her body. Karlheinz appears before him and he asks Kou if he has seen the important thing. Kou tearfully begs him to bring Yui back to life, but Karlheinz tells him to give it up. This is what he committed and when something dies, it will never return. Kou stabs out his magic eye and returns it to Karlheinz, but he tells him that it is not enough. He asks how far he would go for Yui, because if he really wants her to be brought back to life, then he has to give up his other eye as well. Kou hesitantly, but willingly does. Karlheinz tells Kou that he will never be able to see the blue sky he had been desiring for anymore.

Later on, Kou hears Yui's heart beating. He desperately calls out to her and Yui asks him why he can't see her. He replies that he has done many worse things to her and his blindness is his punishment. Yui can't recall what had happened, but her thoughts are interrupted when Kou requests her to let him touch her and to speak more so that he knows she is still there. He regrets not listening to Ruki and he tells Yui that it's not good if they're together, but Yui assures him that no matter what happens, everything will be fine. She suddenly says that she doesn't appear to be human anymore and Kou realises that Karlheinz had brought her back to life as a vampire. He then tells her that as long as she is with him, he is fine being unable to see and that the sky he had desired is already in his heart. In his mansion, Karlheinz tells Kou that he has already obtained his blue sky and how he didn't need to become "Adam' to understand all this. Back to the present, Yui is guiding Kou into the garden. Kou asks Yui about the sky and she replies that it is beautiful. She promises to stay by his side forever, reaffirming their love for each other once more.

Chapter 1

Kou and Yui visit a clothing shop. The shop owner tells them that the clothing in the shop are special, and will only be able to fit the one they have 'chosen'. Taking this as a challenge, Kou sets off to find the perfect fit for Yui. He comes back with a red dress. Yui tries it on and finds out that the dress suits her very well. Kou gives Yui a challenge to try to find the right clothing for him. While Yui is a bit hesitant at first, she accepts the challenge.

She returns holding a shirt she picked out. Kou calls her fashion sense devastating, and the shop owner asks Yui if she is hiding anything from Kou. Yui immediately denies this, flustered, but Kou's mood is suddenly ruined. He drags her out of the shop and into the back of an alley, asking her if she was keeping anything from him. When she denies it, he asks for proof. Kou tries to use his eye to read her mind, but, strangely enough, he finds out that his eye does not work on her.

Frustrated, Kou demands to taste Yui's blood to see if she is lying or not. He complains that it would have been much easier if he could use his eye. After sucking her blood, he is in a much better mood and announces that he believes that she was not lying to him after all.

Prologue

Yui decides that she cannot leave Kou behind and she returns to the Mukami mansion. By the time she gets back, the living room is a wreck, and the Mukami's are nowhere to be seen. She decides to check Kou's room hoping he is hiding in there. When she gets to his room, someone grabs her from behind and covers her mouth. This startles Yui who is then dragged to the bathroom where she is released. She screams for help until a familiar voice tells her to calm down. It's Kou. He suddenly collapses from his wounds and Yui notices that his right eye is injured, so she offers to let him suck her blood to ease the pain. When Kou starts feeling a bit better, they decide to head to the Demon World using the tunnel from the Sakamaki mansion. Upon arriving at the Sakamaki mansion, they are confronted by Shin who was waiting for them in the tunnel. He introduces himself to Kou before sending his wolf familiars to attack them. Kou protects Yui from the wolves and attempts to fight off Shin, but he is clearly no match for him. Shin savagely beats up Kou until Yui shoves him away before grabbing Kou and running with him to the Demon World. Upon arrival, they are greeted by Ruki and Kou collapses from his injuries. Ruki praises Kou for being able to protect Yui and he also thanks Yui for helping Kou change for the better. He then carries Kou and they head to the castle.

Kou appears on top of a nearby cliff with his brothers after the Sakamaki's limousine crashes. When Yui takes a stroll in the rose garden outside the Sakamaki mansion, Kou is the first to greet her. He sneaks up behind Yui and whispers into her ear, 'Found you~!' which startles her. He then picks up the rose petal Yui dropped and greets her with a good morning instead of introducing himself. Yui backs away and tries to run from him, but his brothers, Yuma and Azusa appear and block her paths. As Yui flees from them, he watches on and appears again when Ruki captures Yui at the end of the episode, but his hand is only seen closing in on her along with Yuma and Azusa's.

Kou is present when Yui awakens. He comes down the stairs leading to the living room after Yuma yells at Yui to not make a big fuss about her abduction. Kou tells Yuma that it is alright, saying that it's natural for Yui to react like that since they had abducted her so suddenly. When Azusa scares Yui by asking her whether she likes pain, Kou tells him that he shouldn't ask inappropriate questions to a person they had just met. When Yui refuses to trust them, he gets irritated and tells Yui that they don't care whether she believes them or not.

Kou is with his brothers as they accompany Yui when Ruki finally allows her to attend school. He is later seen again being surrounded by a group of girls, and he doesn't seem to notice Subaru confronting Yui and dragging her away. However, he later follows the pair to the school roof where he interrupts Subaru's confrontation with Yui about her reasons for "leaving" the Sakamaki's. He also appears amused to see her struggling to explain her situation to Subaru. Kou provokes Subaru and he uses his right eye on him to find out Subaru's feelings towards Yui. He then challenges him to take Yui back if he really wants her when he suddenly embraces her from behind. This further provokes Subaru, prompting him to grab Yui and bite her, much to Kou's amusement. After Subaru leaves, Kou bites her in the same area in order to make her forget that Subaru bit her earlier on. As Yui's consciousness begins drifting away, he vows that he will not hand her over to the Sakamaki's.

"Hello, M Neko-Chan!" - To Yui"

Do you think I would give you something without a price to pay? This is a give and take world." - To Yui

"I mean, isn't it a miracle itself, that me, and idol, would even give you flowers?" - To Yui

"Is it your conciousness that's hesitating to answer? Have you fallen that deeply under?" - To Yui

"To die for somebody... ...? Heh heh... ...Humans are strange. There's no true meaning behind it." - To Yui

"I'll suck until I'm satisfied, every drop of blood that flows through your body... ...and you'll die. Don't you belong to me? So dying isn't that big of a deal, right?" - To Yui

"I have freedom, I have enough money to last me an entire lifetime. I've been given all the things I could've ever asked for...however...Is it still not enough? But, what's missing...""Nope. Aren't tears for humans? I'm a vampire, Yui. Therefore, I don't have the heart of people, it's something you need to understand." - To Yui

"Hey look? The blue sky is beautiful. Isn't it healthy to look out at the blue sky every so often while I'm sucking your blood?" - To Yui

"Dont lie to me, I can see through any of your lies in an instant" - To Yui
