All were enjoying the banter between Samaina and the elders were engrossed in talking about the wedding preparations.....while one person, sitting there, was burning in anger and anguish....It was none other than Kartik....Ever since he has seen Naina for the first time, he has lost his sanity...He just wanted her.....she has become his passion...his obsession......but seeing her getting closer to Sameer was only boiling his blood...His reverie broke hearing Amrita's voice...

Amrita: Kya hua? Aap kuchh kha kyu nii re?

Kartik: Kuchh nii bas office ka kuchh yaad aa gaya....wahi soch re the....

Amrita: Pehle lunch then office....

Saying this she fed him a bite with her own hands and he gave a small smile in return.....unknown to him, someone was observing everything keenly....and decided to look into it later.....

After lunch all bade goodbye to each other deciding that Nani would reach out to Pandit jii and then discuss and finalize the date....They all proceeded towards home, while Sameer went to his office......

In office, Sameer reached his cabin all furious and banged his hand against the table....being a weekend, the office was almost empty except for a few cleaning staff......He picked up his phone and called someone and after speaking for couple of minutes in a low voice, he banged the phone hard......And sat back on his chair resting his head on the back rest.....

He sat back and closed his eyes......and all the past happenings started to run in front of his eyes just like a movie.....

His father started an affair with his secretary, who was very much younger than him and he handed over the divorce paper to their mother on the day of their 25th anniversary.....His mother was shattered and seeing her like that both Amrita and Sameer too had broken down....Sameer was only 18 then, and Amrita was 24.....It was really difficult for both the kids to take all this in.....After all this, they moved in with their Nanu and Nani....who tried everything to cheer up the kids...Munna was always by his siblings' side as he understood how difficult it must be for them......Since Vishakha was not in a correct state of mind, Mami jii took care of both the kids.....She never let them feel the absence of a mother......

Just after a month, since they moved in with the Maheshwari's, Vishakha took an overdose of the sleeping pills, which the Dr had prescribed to her.....Nani was the first one to find her in the morning.....with white foam oozing out of her mouth......They rushed her to the hospital, but it was too late...they had lost her.....And overnight, Sameer had become an adult.....he became matured suddenly and started to look out for his elder sister......He suddenly became very serious for his studies, and then also started his own business, under Nanu's guidance......

But in all this, Amrita had become more vulnerable and emotional.....Her father was her hero, and seeing the hero of her life, become a villain, had completely broken and shattered her......The starting few years were really difficult for her.....Her father tried to contact her and Sameer many times....but they never spoke to him...Amrita did want to speak to him initially, but after her mother's demise....she started hating her father.....She was even dating a boy named Siddhant, who too abandoned her seeing the scandalous events in her family...and this was the last thread.....which broke her completely.......Her entire family tried to cheer her up, but with each passing day, she was becoming more and more miserable......

Their father moved to South Africa, after trying hard and failing in getting his kids back......But one day they received a news that their father died in a car accident......Amrita cried her heart out...but Sameer, he didn't even shed a single tear......he hated his father, since the day he had seen how badly he had behaved with their mother and left her in tears....And he didn't even come, when their mother committed suicide......And that's when Sameer asked Nanu to officially adopt him and Amrita....he didn't wanted to be connected to his father in any way....

That was when, Amrita had met Kartik in the orphanage, where she used to go to get her mind off of things......Amrita was slowly slipping into depression and that's when Nanu suggested that Amrita start visiting an orphanage that was close to their house....With the kids, of the orphanage, Amrita started to become normal again.....She had started to smile again.....Though they had thought that it was all because of the kids, but the major reason was Kartik......

Kartik was taking care of the legalities related to that orphanage.....He had recently moved to the city, and this was his first working place....He had seen Amrita on his very first day at the orphanage.......He was smitten by her and since that very day, he had started to woo her.....But he was unaware back then, of an extra possessive younger brother.....Within six months, she had introduced Kartik to her family....Sameer wasn't convinced of Kartik, but Nanu and Nani loved how he treated their granddaughter with all the love and respect.....All trusted him blindly, but something was there which was bothering Sameer....

He had set out his men to find more about him.....but before he could find anything, the Dr informed them about Amrita's condition.....Though she was doing better now, but she needed to be kept away from any kind of stress and tensions...and Sameer too reluctantly agreed for their marriage seeing his sister's condition.......But on the wedding day only, he got to know the reality of Kartik......

His reverie was broken by a knock on the door, and he knew who it was.....

Sameer: Come in...

And just then, Kartik entered the cabin....with a wide smile....but his smile faded seeing Sameer's angry face......He slowly moved towards his desk and Sameer stood up from his place......And as and when, Kartik was about to sit on the chair across the desk, Sameer pushed it away with his leg and the chair fell directly on the floor with a loud thud......And Kartik kept looking at the chair, until he felt a tug on his collar.....

Kartik: Are Sameer ye tum.....

Sameer: (roaring with anger) Chup ek dum chup......

Kartik was evidently scared, but still tried to look confident...

Kartik: Sameer pehle mera collar chhodo...agar Amrita ne Dekha lia to....

Sameer slapped him hard across his face and left him with a jerk.....and Kartik also fell on the floor.....

Sameer: Dare you...agar tune meri di ka naam b apni zubaan p laya to...

Kartik: Lekin Sameer humne kia kya h?

Sameer: Tujhe yaad h naa ki teri shaadi k pehle maine tujhe kya kaha tha?

Kartik looked at Sameer all confused, but just then he remembered his encounter with Sameer, right before his marriage...

Flashback..

The entire Maheshwari mansion was decorated and was buzzing with energy....All were running here and there doing the last minute preparations...Today was the big day....Finally after so long, there were celebrations at the Maheshwari mansion......Amrita and Kartik were getting married with the blessings of her family....As mentioned, Kartik was an orphan and had no one from his side......

Nanu: (to Kartik) Beta kisne kaha ki tum akele ho......hum sb hain naa...aur aaj se hum hi tumhara parivaar hain......

Kartik: Nana jii...aap sb hain isiliye to aaj mujhe apne maa baap ki kami nii ho rii h....warna to....

His eyes teared up missing his parents...and Nanu took him in a comforting hug......And Sameer was standing at a bit of distance, observing all this.......Just then someone tapped on his shoulder and he turned to find Munna standing there.....

Munna: (in Sameer's ears) Bhai vo Patil aaya h..office Mei wait krra h tera....

Sameer: Hmmm....

Sameer was about to go, when Munna stopped him...

Munna: Bhai....ab to maan jaa ki Kartik jiju mei koi gadbad nii h...aur vo sach mei di se pyaar krta h.....

Sameer: Hmm...mujhe usse kuchh aur kaam h..tu jaa jaake dekh sb sahi h ki nii......

And saying this, Sameer left from there and Munna shook his head in disbelief......Sameer went inside his cabin and locked the door, so that nobody can disturb their conversation....

He went and sat on his chair, with his one leg on top of the other....with grave expressions...

Sameer: Kucch pata chala?   

Patil: Yes boss....Ye Kartik basically Meerut se h....Iske maa baap ki bahot saal pehle death ho gyi thi...

Sameer: Ye sb mujhe pata h...vo batao jo mai nii jaanta....

Patil: Isne kaha ki ye yahan better opportunities k liye aaya h......lekin aisa nii h...

Sameer: Go on...

Patil: Ye wahan Meerut Mei chhote mote frauds k cases ldta tha...out of court settlements and all....but wahan isne bahot scams kiye...jiski wajah se isko vo sheher chhod k yahan bhaag k aana pada....Aur ye us NGO Mei koi kaam wagerah nii krta tha....ye bas wahan kaam dhoondhne gaya tha, aur Anjali jii se milte hi unhe aur aapki family ko phasane k liye sb naatak kia tha.....Aur...

Sameer: Aur kya?

Patil: Sir iska character b achha nii h...mujhe pata chala ki iske college ki b koi ldki thi, usko isne pregnant kr dia..aur...aur fir usko b chhod dia....ldki localite nii thi, isiliye zada matter nii badha....aur yahan b kayi baar isko doosri ldkiyon k saath dekha gaya h...umm..red light area mei b...... 

Patil said the last line very slowly...seeing Sameer burning in anger....

Patil: Boss ye aadmi sahi nii h....

Sameer: Tum jao....

Patil had known Sameer for really long time to understand that at these situations, once Sameer asks someone to leave...it's better to leave....He just nodded and left from there without saying a word....

Sameer sat there contemplating on what all information he had received....He cannot doubt Patil, as he's been working with Sameer for really long time....He cannot doubt his investigations...and also his conscious never allowed him to trust Kartik wholeheartedly.....It always seemed that he was too good to be true...or he was trying too hard to be good....

He stood up and decided to stop the wedding right away....He would take care of his sister, whatever may come.....but he cannot let her ruin her life by marrying a wrong man.....maybe his mother too had married a wrong man...and ended up committing suicide.....and he cannot let his sister meet the same fate....Deciding this, he stormed out of the room.....

He went to Amrita's room...the door was open, and he could see her all dressed up in a beautiful red lehenga...and fine jewels....Even though he wasn't in favor of this marriage, still he had designed this lehenga for his sister with all the love he had for her.....And seeing her all dressed up like a bride, his resolve was becoming weaker.....She was laughing whole heartedly....Which he was seeing after a really long time......And seeing her like this, he felt as if his feet were stuck on the ground with glue....He couldn't take even a step ahead.....

Amrita saw Sameer standing on the entrance...her voice broke his reverie....

Amrita: Sonu...wahan kyu kade ho? Andar aao naa?

Sameer took slow steps towards his sister....his eyes fixed on her face.....

Amrita: (excitedly) Kaise lg re hain hum?

Seeing him all lost, she shook him from his shoulder and asked him through gestures...But his throat felt really constricted to say anything....

Sameer: Bbb..Bahot beautiful lg rii ho...di.....

Amrita's smile became wider.....But she still could see apprehensions in his eyes....She kept a hand on his cheek, and spoke lovingly...

Amrita: Sonu....I'm really happy...sach mei....Kartik jii bahot achhe hain....tumhe pata h, pehle humein b darr lgta tha....jo Papa ne aur jo Siddhant ne kia...uske baad to hum kisi p b trust hi nii kr skte the.....lekin Kartik jii ne humein firse trust krna sikhaya.....Agar is baar aisa kuchh hota naa Sonu...to hum sach me mar...

Sameer kept his hand on her mouth and shook his head vigorously.....His eyes were automatically filled with tears....And Amrita smiled softly....

Amrita: Lekin don't worry.....Vo aise nii hain....aur hum bahot khush hain...sachi...

Sameer: Hmm..

He could just hmm..and lightly wiping his sister's tears...he went away from there.....He went back to his office, and started throwing away things in anger.....

Sameer: Meri di use bahot trust krti hain..agar unko pata chala ki ye kaisa insaan h...vo toot jayegi....First time ever I'm feeling so helpless....Mai di ko kuchh bata b nii skta....what the hell should I do?

He banged his hand hard against the table, and the glass cracked.....and Sameer was breathing really hard.....He stood there contemplating for a few moments....then he called for Kartik...who came in next five minutes.....He was all dressed up in his wedding sherwaani....and his wide smile was making Sameer more and more angry.....he wanted to go ahead and punch him hard......

Kartik: Kya hua Sameer? Tumne mujhe bulaya?

Sameer: Yahan baitho...

Kartik was confused seeing him like this....his voice, though low but sounded very curt....though he was never too friendly and open with him..but still he did as he said..and sat down....Sameer pushed a file towards him, and Kartik picked it up reluctantly.....and started to go through it....but with every page, his eyes became bigger and bigger.....And by the end of the last page, he was sweating and his face had turned pale.....And Sameer was noticing his each and every movement keenly....

Sameer: Tumhaari har harkat ka kachcha chiththa h...tumne kb kb kya kya kia h.....uska poora hisaab h isme.....

Kartik: Sameer...vo..hum...

Sameer: Don't bother....Bas chup chap suno....Meri di tumse bahot pyaar krti h...aur mai apni di se....To ye jo tum aajtk krte aaye ho naa...ye sb band kr do...smjhe....tum aaj se yahin, Maheshwari mansion Mei hi rahoge.....Har mahine mai tumhaare credit cards ka bill pay krunga....Aur tumne, meri di ka kabhi b dil dukhaya, to mai tujhe jaan se maar dunga....smjha....

Sameer roared at him...and after warning Kartik, Amrita and Kartik got married.....

Flashback ends.....

Sameer: Yaad aaya?

Kartik: Hhh..ha..haan....aur usne baad humne kabhi Amrita ko hurt nii kia h...

Sameer: (shouting) Just shut up.....(coming deadly closer to him) Tujhe bola tha naa agar aisa kabhi kuchh hua to mai khud tujhe jaan se maar dunga....

And Kartik was trembling out of fear.....but still he managed to speak up..

Kartik: Lekin humne...

Sameer: Tu jis nazar se Naina ko dekh raa tha naa....sb dekha maine....

And Kartik's eyes widened in shock.....
