Victoria

The next morning, the breeze in Cancún is delicate - but the sun radiates a humid and fiery heat. To me, this warm Autumn air rather sets a relaxing mood. It's perfect.

I look to Rio who walks into step next to me; looking irresistibly sexy in his white t-shirt. I'm glad I didn't have to talk him into not wearing his favorite black jeans today. Right before he took me out for breakfast he stepped outside and got slammed by the unavoidable heat - and slipped on his blue swimming trunks himself.

I, not being able to help myself, saw this short white and sleeveless sundress in a gift shop earlier, and I couldn't take my eyes off it. Who knew dresses were sold at gift shops? Not me, anyway. I look to gift shops for souvenirs and keychains.

So now it's what I'm vesturing, as the mix of warm and merely cool sand sink between my toes within each step.

My tall husband's hand is hot in mine. "So what did you want for dinner later, sweetheart?" I latch onto his gallant brown eyes as he speaks.

"You're asking me about dinner, this early?" I can't resist breaking into an amused grin. I shake my head, a moment, before facing ahead to the shore ahead of us. "We have all the time in the world to plan dinner, baby." I hide my smirk, tightening the grasp I have on his hand when I feel his perceptive eyes burn into the side of my head.

"But I think we'll have tacos." I curl my lip, fixating my gaze on Rio's another moment longer. He cocks his brows, plastering an all too familiar grin. And my red lips curve. "What? It's Tuesday!" I remark afterwards.

My gangster licks his lips whilst his head shakes in return - his glistening gaze settling on the ocean before us.

The calm waves bring a calm, yet intense feeling of utter peace. Being in this serenity - with him - makes me want to stay here much longer than the week we're gonna get.

As I walk by his side, I shut my eyes - only for a silent moment. And my lips take in the air.

"I love it here, you know." I tell him. "You brought me to my favorite place, the place I've dreamt of visiting ever since I was ten." My eyelids soon peel open; my light brown irises soon scanning across the people in their own beachwear with tanner skin - scattered around on the sand, or seated at a barstool by one of the outdoor tiki bars.

A smile shortly creeps it's way onto my face.

"Well, darlin', you're my world. Remember? My rock..." Rio smirks when I face him again. "...My beautiful wife." His bright white teeth showcase in a smile.

"And still 'til this day, I don't know how I got so lucky." He seems to examine my face - while my heart flutters inside.

I wrinkle my nose in thought, purposefully. "Hm... your car crashed into mine?" I say jokingly, instantly feeling a playful nudge on my arm. I laugh as he does.

"C'mon," he starts huskily again, "I think that opinion has ran it's course, yeah?" He looks out ahead, and absentmindedly, I do too.

That is, until I'm literally swept off my feet. A gasp is sucked in when Rio's tattooed arms wrap around me, and I'm entangled in his masculine warmth. A faint scream escapes me when he spins me around in his hold.

My chest is pressed against his hard, and when he lands still he refuses to let me go, yet. My bare feet are still lifted from the sandy surface of the beach.

Rio's chocolate brown eyes are seemingly lost in mine for a silent and peaceful moment, sending the butterflies to their task in my gut.

"Nah, guess we crashed into each other when it was no one's fault. But if I got to place one wish in this ongoing lifetime of mine, it would be to crash into you again and again." He adds; his low tone husky and laced with rawness.

Processing the gangster's words, I feel my lips quirk up and I can't tame it. I form a wide smile against him, staring into his brown eyes.

And still in his strong arms, I lean in to press my lips against the gangster's.

"I don't understand," Mere frustration piles me as I'm seated on the sofa. "I just..."

My thumb doesn't give up scanning through the channels.  "What kind of resort that provides a t.v doesn't have The CW? Do you know how long it's been since I've binged on Riverdale?" I release a sigh, biting my lip. "And don't get me started on how far behind I am on Legacies. It's not like Klaus is ever gonna make an appearance on the show anyway..." I mumble the last part to myself in disappointment.

"Sweetheart, c'mon." Rio's deep voice sounds from far behind my back, as he's in the kitchen preparing dinner. "You're better off without those shows anyway. The Walking Dead is the only good spot, ma."

I shoot him a glare over my shoulder, spotting him smirking to himself as he stirs what's in the pot; his tall and toned side facing me. My lips twitch. I force back my sheepish grin.

Turning to face ahead again to turn off the t.v, I throw my head back onto the beige couch. And instead of loosing myself in the television, I drown myself in thoughts.

For some reason, the first thing my mind is brought to is the gang. Staring up at the vaulted ceiling, I release a sigh.

"What do you think the gang's doing back home?" I ask Rio - curious.

"Well," he begins, huskily, from across the vast space. And soon, I hear footsteps approach the back of me. "I talked to Chris earlier, I figured I'd give 'em a call since they know not to call themselves while we're out..." he explains - later plopping onto the cushion next to me.

Rio's dark and glinting eyes meet mine when I glance at him. "They're not up to much, really. His boy Teddy already got the basics jotted, he officially understands how the kingdom works. So, now they're just sittin' back..." Rio shrugs. "While we're here."

I watch his hand land on his lap as he's leaned back comfortably in his black jeans. He's back in one of his favorite black t-shirts. Propping my elbow up on the couch and studying his gaze, I can't help but to send my handsome husband a deliberate, careful once over.

Amongst the current gentleness of desire I'm feeling for him, a swirl of appreciation - and of happiness - swarms up inside my chest. And rushing through my warm veins is rapid gratitude.

And he says he's the one that's lucky...

"You're already pondering on what's goin' on back home. What, you already feeling homesick?" The gangster pulls me from my concentration, and I avert to his showcasing smirk.

I tug at my bottom lip with my teeth. Rio doesn't tear from my gaze, neither do I his. "No. Definitely not." I say, truthfully. "But, I have been thinking... I'm still gonna turn in that Nursing application when we get back, you know." I inform him.

Rio's brows rise, and his chocolate brown eyes search deep into mine - he listens to me ardently, giving me his undivided attention - as he usually does. Seeing him like that makes my pulse accelerate.

"I just still miss it. Serving and helping others. And hey," I point a finger at him, "that medical school wasn't for nothing. Besides, it'll be like a fresh start, sorta, but with an amazing husband by my side." I nudge his arm.

Rio sounds a deep chuckle for a moment; throwing his head back as I see his Adams apple bounce.

"C'mon..." Rio's brows are now furrowed when his glistening eyes latch onto mine again, and he shakes his head - gaining all seriousness. "You don't gotta work when you're with me, remember? You're taken care of." He reminds me rawly - though I for sure remember the fact.

"I mean I get running our business and being the Queen and whatnot, but you really wanna work?" He questions me huskily.

I feel my lip quirk up by itself as I glimpse down a silent moment, and my answer doesn't take much thought. I look back up at him.

I nod. "I do."

Rio quickly licks his full lips and faces ahead a brief second, releasing my gaze, and slowly begins nodding his head. His arm reaches out to rest across the head of the couch; his reclined hand now close to my face. I sit still.

"OK," he starts calmly. I stare at him in wait, curious as to what exactly he's thinking. Rio scratches the side of his stubby cheek, soon steadying on my eyes again.

I flick my gaze down to his lips, and I notice that it seems he's now suppressing a grin.

"So I won't be able to make unexpected drop-by's all over again right? 'Cause of the tat and all..."

I merely throw my head back and an exasperated sigh diffuses. And after I run a hand through my loose brown hair a moment, I move over to claim the spot on his relaxed lap.

My action seems to almost take him by surprise, that is, before his mouth then curves upward greatly. He concentrates on my light brown eyes while I look into his own.

"Let them see us, darling." I whisper, as strands of my brown hair plop over my forehead eventually.

In front of me, my husband forms a proud grin in return, quick. And my desire exceeds when I grasp his face and press his lips against mine myself.
