Peter was just about out of the school's wood-shop door before he paused in his tracks, hearing your angelic voice.

The rush of going home must have made him forget that you were still working on the finishing touches on your project. You two had planned on studying later tonight, but Peter had abruptly cancelled, leaving you with hundreds of questions.

❝I mean, I'm not doing anything wrong, right? Like, we make plans, and then he cancels last minute. Peter always has the same excuse,❞ you sighed. Peter slowly ascended down the stairs, trying to get a better view of you talking. ❝and then I talk to Ned and he says that they hung out. Is Peter just bored of me?❞

His emotions turned upside down, wondering how in the world you thought so badly of yourself. Of course he wasn't bored of you, but his constant internship worries were starting to take up most of his time. However, he felt absolutely horrible for not taking your emotions into account.

❝there's no way. You're amazing. In fact, I'm surprised he hasn't asked you to homecoming yet with the way he always looks at you.❞ your best friend admitted, handing you your book-filled backpack.

You playfully rolled your eyes. ❝yeah right. Anyways, I have to go and pick up a pint of ice cream to drown out my sorrows. I'll call you later.❞

Before you could catch Peter spying on you from the stairs, he left the room, heart beating a million times a second.
