before peter had left for his washington trip, you and him had gotten into a pretty big fight about something so minimal. it was completely obvious that you both had regretted it, and it invaded your thoughts every hour of the day.

when may called you, it was obvious that there was a slight trace of panic laced in her voice, and she tried to persuade you to join her on her drive to go pick up peter. almost immediately, you were out on the sidewalk, waiting for her familiar car.

upon arriving, you noticed all your friends, basically the entire decathlon team, outside and embracing their parents. you trailed behind may as she raced up to peter and brought him into a hug. a few moments passed by before she pulled away, excusing herself to go talk to some other people when she noticed the way you were staring at the ground.

it didn't take long for peter to make the first move, rushing up and bringing you into a loving embrace. in no time were your arms wrapping around his shoulders, holding on like tomorrow didn't exist.

❝I'm so sorry for that petty fight. I love you, so much.❞ peter whispered against the crook of your neck. you felt that if he held you any tighter, he would squish the breath out of you. on that thought, you let out a small laugh.

❝there's no need to apologize, it was my fault for bringing that up. you know, let's forget about it,❞ you smiled, placing your hands on the sides of his face. ❝I love you too, by the way.❞
