"Of course you're invited, Peter," You stated, earning a small smile from him. Truthfully, you hoped that he would show up. Then again, he never missed your birthday. "You're the most amazing guy I've ever met."

"T-thanks!" He stuttered, looking down at the ground. "I'll be there, I promise. And I'll have an amazing present for you!"

"You just being there with me is the best gift I could have," You whispered to yourself, quickly hoping that he didn't hear your unfiltered thoughts. "I'll see you later then."

He smiled, saying his goodbye and turning around. Boy, was he excited. Now, he thought that you did like him back, and he was on the right track.
