Convenience Store [Part 1]
Taehyung had gotten extremely busy with his finals and didn't have the chance to see Jimin or Jungkook for that matter. He often had his face glued to his computer screen, camera, or textbooks. As the editor for one of his film final projects, he was constantly going back and forth between tweaking the look of every scene and relaying back his changes with the team. Although his days were stressful, it was kind of nice to have some space from his troubles. Ignorance is bliss after all. That was, until he ran into Jungkook at the local convenience store. His first thought was to rush out because he was dressed very casually in a tank and cargo shorts. However, he was much too late as they had just made eye contact.
"Long time no see. Busy with finals?" Jungkook asked after he waved and approached him.
"Yeah, it's no joke this time around. I'm running on energy drinks to get me through the final bits of editing. How have you been?" He asked waiting for the other to look away before giving him a once over.
Even at the dead of night Jungkook looked so cool in his white tank, grey zip-up shirt, and black pants. He quickly looked away at the ramen options Infront of him when Jungkook looked back at him.
"Tell me about it, I'm in the same boat. I've been balls deep in the documentary I've been working on. But, Taemin hyung invited a bunch of us out tonight as a little break, so I'm here to get some last minute snacks." Jungkook replied and picked out a few snacks.
So that was why he was in the area. Taehyung wasn't the type to have FOMO (fear of missing out) but he couldn't help but wonder if Jimin was with them too and what Jungkook had been up to lately.
"Ah, so you're the servant huh?" Taehyung said eyeing the contents of his basket.
"Ouch, but unfortunately yes. Would your highness care to pregame with me?" Jungkook did a little bow and he couldn't help but laugh at him.
"I thought you either hated drinking or were a lightweight because I haven't seen you drink before."
"Neither or those are the case. When surrounded by a group, the dynamic tends to encourage pushing boundaries, sometimes leading to a loss of control. But since it's just you and I, I can stay within my limits, as the influence of the crowd fades away and personal responsibility takes center stage." Jungkook explained.
"You make it sound so fancy... Anyways, I'm not drinking with you until I lose another bet. Which won't happen ever again." He said and walked over to the next aisle to get some cheese for his ramen.
"I wouldn't say that if I were you. Want me to show you some proof?" Jungkook broke out into a full on grin and followed Taehyung.
"Show me that again and I'll ... steal your cigs from you." Taehyung threatened and looked over at him with a small smile.
"Oh my, I feel so threatened right now~" The younger male exaggerated.
"As you should. Anyways, what's the documentary about?" He asked genuinely curious about what the topic could be.
He slid open the door to grab some more energy drinks. Before he could move on, his hand lingered around a banana milk. The last time they had went to a convenience store, Jungkook seemed interested in that one and perhaps Taehyung felt just a little guilty for being a little distant from him.
"The topic was celebrities because they have been on the rise lately. A friend of friend actually hooked me up with one of my idols so it's been an amazing experience getting to know them on a more personal level. If you guess them right, I'll buy you anything you'd like. But if you guess wrong, you have to pregame with me." Jungkook said with this smug look on his face.
In fact, he had already reached in and added some more beer to his basket.
"Wow~. First of all, I didn't even accept your terms yet AND I don't even know you like that to be able to guess. You have to give me a hint at least." Taehyung crossed his arms over his chest.
"Okay okay. They're a singer." Jungkook leaned against the wall as Taehyung took some time to think.
That didn't help him one bit. The person could have been part of a group or a solo artist. Not to mention he wasn't even given a genre. If it was a friend of a friend's connection, maybe they weren't that old?
"Is it Sunmi?" Taehyung asked feeling just a bit hopeful.
"Nope! It's IU." Jungkook laughed and grabbed one more can.
"Ugh, I was so close!" He groaned and followed Jungkook to checkout.
After paying for their things, Taehyung went over are started preparing his ramen, sausage, and kimchi while Jungkook set two cans on the table and took a seat. Suddenly, he felt a little nervous as he wondered how he should give the banana milk to the other. Would he think it was too much? Maybe he would make fun of him or become weirded out.
