CHAPTER TWENTY ONE.
"I know I ain't right for tempting you, but I just wanna see what you would do"
lauren jauregui — "more than that"
"Oh my god, the killer is inside the house!"
"Griffin shut up! You're gonna scare me more than I already am!"
"Paul! What do you want me to do?! The killer is inside!"
"But where?!"
"Bobby you're crushing my hand so hard I'm gonna start to think you're the murderer!"
"Sorry!"
"Where's the killer?!"
"I don't know, Paul! Stop freaking out so much! Don't you punch people for a living?!"
"But he has to be inside! Who else would make that creepy ass noise!?"
"A ghost!"
"A ghost?!"
"People are getting murdered, Colin!"
"And ghost can't kill people?! We've seen it! Multiple times!"
"Those are demons you idiot!"
"Still! Ghosts, Paul!"
"What if he's in the kitchen?!"
"That noise was someone moving furniture, it can't come from the kitchen! Maybe the bedroom!"
"Yeah, it could Griffin, or someone just moving in next door."
"Don't laugh at my deduction skills, Ivy. I'm definitely Sherlock Holmes in the group."
"That's bullshit, Griffin, I'm definitely Sherlock Holmes."
"You're funny."
"Can you guys shut up!?"
"Ryker! The killer is inside!"
"So, she's gonna die anyway!"
"Don't you dare say that again!"
"She's going into the bathroom she'll be fine!"
"Yeah, the killer can't be there, right?"
"The killer is in the bathroom, guys." I finally speak as the innocent girl walks through the rooms of her house on the TV. Everyone turns to me.
"What? Why would you think that?"
"The bathroom is the room that has a lock," I start "they showed it before. And, the girl being an idiot but good for the movies, she's going to get inside and hide there knowing that it has a lock and the killer won't be able to come. The killer, of course, knows this and they will go there beforehand to catch her, thinking the same thing that I just did." I shrug my shoulders like it's the most obvious thing in the world, but for the way that everyone's eyes are confused and slightly terrified of what I just said, I might just start thinking it isn't the most obvious thing in the world.
"That can't be," Paul grabs his pillow with more strength as his head turns back to the TV. For the looks of it, he looks like he's living inside the horror movie himself "someone was moving furniture!"
I shake my head, sliding more into the pillows under me. "It was a distraction."
"Or someone moving in!"
"It can't come from the bathroom." Colin disagrees. "How did the killer came inside? The girl was on the first floor the whole night!"
"That's right!" Griffin nods. "She would definitely seen him coming!"
"Isn't there a slight chance in your head that the killer wasn't outside the house to begin with? Didn't we saw the girl come from soccer practice two minutes ago?" They stay quiet.
"So you're saying he was inside all the this time?!" Paul asks me, freaked out.
"I still don't believe you." Colin shakes his head taking his eyes towards the TV, where now the girl is slowly going upstairs and the suspense music blast through my ears.
"I don't either." Griffin adds, doing the same as Colin.
"Do whatever you want, but so you know, you won't survive a horror movie."
"Yes I would," Colin nods "because o would carry holy water everywhere!"
"They're not ghost, Colin!"
"Shut up, Ivy!"
"Don't open that door," Paul quickly says interrupting everyone "don't open that door, don't open that door, don't open that door,—!"
"Paul, don't believe Lilith she's—"
Paul covering his eyes with the pillow cuts Griffin's words immediately. "And she's dead!"
I smile, proudly. "Told you."
Both Colin and Griffin stare at me as the screams of the girl surround the room. With shook eyes, I can see how the wheels inside their heads are turning trying to figure out how I knew it. "Have you seen this movie before?" Colin finally asks.
"Nop." I shake my head. "But I've seen my fare share of crime scenes."
Colin and Griffin nod with a smile while Paul just repeatedly shakes his head. "Disturbing!"
"Fascinating."
"I'm definitely staying with Lilith if we're in a horror movie! Fuck you all!"
"Lovely, Colin. We love you too."
A laugh escapes my mouth while the girl is still trying to survive the knife of the strange killer. A body sitting next to me and placing a bowl of popcorn cuts it short, realising what I have in front of me, I can't help but furrow my eyebrows. "You brought me popcorn?" I ask giving Lucifer a disgusted look.
He nods uninterested. "Yeah."
"I told you I wanted cereal."
"Yeah, and I care so much about what you want." He adds sarcastically and then lets out a chuckle, like me saying my prior words was the most stupidest thing ever.
I'm gonna ignore what he just said and move on with the conversation, for the sake of his cheek not ending up against the palm of my hand. "I prefer eating cereal while I watch movies."
"Who asked?"
I roll my eyes going back to the TV. I literally hate him so fucking much. "Asshole."
"Who eats cereal while watching a movie? You're a freak."
Oh, he didn't!
"I eat them without milk, it's the same as having popcorn!"
I can't help but get louder going back to his eyes who haven't left mine since he sat down by my side.
"That's so weird!"
"Oh, I'm sorry, I didn't know that there were rules on how to watch a fucking movie!"
"There are, actually."
"Enlighten me, please. What are they?"
"Rule number one," he leans closer to my face making a grin appears on his lips "every person who eats cereal while watching a movie is an idiot."
Doing the same as him, our faces end up real close allowing him to have a perfect view of my lips. He can't help it, he stays there as much I need to turn the idea that rushed through my brain a reality.
A piece of popcorn flies to his face as soon as I throw it.
He leans back, annoyed at what I just did. I don't know what's better, being right and win against Colin and Griffin... or annoying Lucifer. I'm definitely gonna give it a thought because the proud feelings running through my body can't be compared to anything. "There, have that." I smile innocently. "Your such loved snack." Flipping him off before going back to the TV, the last thing I see is Lucifer throwing fire with his eyes at me. He's definitely angry. Maybe I'll throw another one— but one hits me first. His audacity! "Lucifer!" I complain facing him to find the proud smile now on his face.
"You did it first!"
"And?!"
"I can't do it back?!"
Yes, he can. But I feel like acting childish right now. "No!" Another piece of popcorn hits the side of his face after it leaves my hand.
"Stop!" He gives it back.
"You stop!" Another one.
"Both of you, stop!" Ada's loud and scary voice hit my ears. Removing the bowl of popcorn from my lap, Ada is now in front of me annoyed at Lucifer and I throwing a tantrum in the middle of the movie. "We're all trying to watch a movie and your annoying asses won't let us listen!" Don't want to lie, as much as I'm the one who would fight someone who treats any of both of us wrong, Ada can be scary as hell when she wants to. Pointing to the left side of the apartment where the wall is and some pillows are messily laid there, Ada lets a long and heavy sigh out getting ready to let or her next scary words. "To the punishment corner! For ten minutes!"
"What—Ada!" I complain immediately. The punishment corner, or as Griffin gracefully called it, made for when Colin or Bobby started to make stupid comments during a movie. Tonight, Ada has a different task for it. "Ada!" I complain again ready to give my friend some puppy eyes, but she doesn't even lets me let a breath out.
"To the corner!"
"I can't see the movie from there! It's so far back!"
"We made it for a reason! You're grounded! Both of you!" She points again. Now besides of scary, she's reminding me of my old teacher in high school getting fed up by me throwing papers around the class.
"This is bullshit!" Now Lucifer complains while he gets up. He takes a step closer to Ada, but once she shakes her head and points again, Lucifer takes a sudden step back.
Yeah, I know, she's scary!
"Want to make twenty minutes, Donovan?!"
Lucifer hesitates on answering. "No."
"Then, shut up and go to the corner!"
I don't even get up, dragging my body to the corner as a long sigh comes out of my mouth, I bite my tongue like a little kid who just got lecture by its mom and it's trying to not talk back.
"Damn, she's scary." I hear Colin say with a bit of excitement on his tone as soon as my back hits the wall, soon followed by an annoyed Lucifer.
Our shoulders are touching, and right now, that's the last thing I want. Moving to the side disgusted, he notices this and takes out his tongue at me as a response.
Maybe we both want to act childish right now. And to be honest, if that makes him more annoyed, so be it.
I take out my tongue at him too.
"Now," Ada gets my attention "we're going to hit the play bottom and I don't want to hear any of your voices arguing. Got it?!"
"Yes, Miss Cameron." Lucifer and I say at the same time.
"Let me watch how the killer rips this girl's intestines out in peace, please." The movie starts again once Ada hits the button, regaining with the sound of the main girl's screams surrounding the room.
"Damn." Paul says, surprised.
"Mommy Ada is scary as fuck!" Griffin joins the conversation, gaining a bit of a nasty look from Ryker, but he soon opens his eyes wide scared of his own girlfriend when Ada brings his arm around her shoulders, almost as if that was the final position and there's not gonna be not arguing. Like a good boy, Ryker doesn't say anything.
"Yes, she is." Ada agrees. "These children make me want to have wine every night before bed."
"Why am I turned on?" Ryker confesses soon followed by the laugh of everyone, who slowly fade away bringing back the suspense music from the movie.
I can't believe I'm in the corner. Grounded! The last time I got grounded was when I tried to steal a bottle of beer from a bunch of rich people at the beach of the town back in senior year with my friends. Everyone was doing it! But good old Richard and his two sons were assholes, caught me and took me to the police station. Who does that?! I was seventeen doing teenage stupid things!
Idiots.
Besides, they were rich! They had like a hundred of beers for ten people. What's one less?!
Anyway, I'm still pissed.
And I think Lucifer getting us to the corner comes close. Or maybe even worst. It's his fault! What am I doing here!? I just threw one to get back at him for calling me a freak, what's so wrong about that?! He's the one that continued!
Ugh, I hate him!
"Can you stop breathing so loudly?!" Lucifer gets my attention with his words in a loud whisper. Brusquely turning to him offended, I slap the side of his arm.
"It's your fault we're here!" I copy his tone. "You stop breathing so loudly! Or stop breathing at all!"
Thankfully, the corner is far away from everyone, even if we start to throw hands they couldn't hear us or even see us. It's a nightmare. If I kick Lucifer's ass, I want everyone to see it.
"My fault! You threw the first piece of popcorn!"
"You're the one who brought me popcorn instead of cereal, if you heard me when I asked, we could've just avoided this whole thing to begin with!"
"Who eats cereal while watching a movie?!" He repeats his question, still not being able to process it.
"Me, asshole!"
"Yeah, a freak!"
"Stop calling me a freak!" My index and thumb flies towards the side of his arm, without hesitating, I squeeze his skin with all the strength of my body.
He opens his mouth offended, and like it hurt, his hand covers now where I pinched him earlier. "Did you just pinched me?"
I nod. "And what about it?" He pinches me back. "Ouch!"
Leaning closer to my face as a proud smile appears on his lips, the air coming out of his mouth hits my skin. "Have that, asshole."
"Idiot."
"Stupid."
"Jerk."
"Dork."
"Cunt."
"Bastard."
"Fuckface!"
He lets out a chuckle to then a side smile, making me wait for his words. "I want to kiss you so fucking bad right now." Lucifer whispers to me, leading my heart to speed just as like my tongue gets tied up.
"I—" my brain shuts off. I don't even have anything to say, my mind is filled with the butterflies that came because of his words. I hate it. I despise it. But what makes me get even angrier, is the fact that he knows I can't come up with anything to say since my eyes told on me. "Shut up."
I roll my eyes leaving his eyes to stare at the TV. Crossing my arms around my chest, I try my best to place my focus on the movie, but hearing a chuckle coming from Lucifer doesn't help me.
"What's that? Got nothing to say right now?"
"Shut up."
"C'mon, one last insult."
"No."
"Did Lilith Avery ran out of insults?"
He wishes.
"I have so much more than your brain could even think about."
"You're lying, otherwise you would be saying them right now."
I shake my head. "I have nothing to prove to you."
"You're proving to me right now that you can't beat me." Can't? What's he on about?
"I win, Avery?" No. "That's amazing," he goes on before I can even let a word out "wow, me winning against Lilith Avery. I'll definitely remember this day. And probably the hour too. The day that I beat you." He's so proud that even on his words I can tell. I don't want to face him, the fact that I'm gonna hate it surrounds my brain.
"Me, Lucifer Donovan: 23, fantastic boxer, great at school and amazingly attractive... beating the one and only, Lilith Avery." The need to find something to shut him up rushes through me. There has to be something... he always has something to say, how can I shut him up?
"People will look at me with so much admiration that I'm not gonna pass unnoticed in the hallways." How does he shut me up? Talking about him wanting to kiss me, that's for sure. But now? Kiss him?
No.
Something worst.
"Even at class, the teacher it's going to kneel in front of me..." Kneel? That gives me an idea.
Oh, it's definitely gonna shut him up. Not saying words, because hopefully something else would want to come out of his mouth. "I won't even have to study because they'll give me a 100 no matter what." Lucifer's so into his words, that he doesn't realise me discreetly licking the palm of my hand. "What do you say about that, Avery?" I quickly hide my hand when his eyes go back to me. "No words?" He lifts an eyebrow. "C'mon, you always have something to say." I cant help but smile innocently when he does the same. As he waits for my answer, my hand slowly reaches to his crotch. But I don't touch him just yet. "What is it?" What do you s—" My hand giving his pants a strong squeeze makes his mouth go immediately shut. There it is. Going down to my hand, his lips turn into a side smile. I don't wait for him to process it, I give another squeeze. "Fuck." He breaths out still with his eyes glued to my hand in his pants.
"That's what I say, Donovan." His head swings back resting on the wall. I can see the smile placed on his lips, it's small yet visible for me to deduce he's liking my hand where is at. Another squeeze leads to another breath out by him, even longer and heavier. "What's that?" I ask, teasing. "Say something, Lucifer."
Our eyes meet. They shine by the light of the bright TV, lust surrounds him just like a beat of heat suddenly appears on the palm of my hand. He wants it. And it's no doubt in my mind of it, I can fell a bulge now growing through his clothes. My lips can't help but form a side smile. "Always that fast for me, Donovan." I whisper again.
It's not a surprise for me non of our friends can hear us, I don't worry about that, the TV volume is so loud that I'm sure if Lucifer is a couple of steps further away I would've even be able to hear him.
Another squeeze, but this time, I bring my hand a bit up towards his zipper. Teasing him, my index finger caress it up and down while my eyes like what they're seeing. Lucifer can't hold it inside, the way that his eyes shine with desire and how his breathing is a bit speed up, he wants it. He wants me to open his jeans up and start working on him like he does with me... what a great idea this was, shut him up in a second.
It's a great feeling to turn the card around on him once in a while.
"Do you want me, Donovan?" I whisper leaning closer to his face, almost ending our lips crushing together. "My hand around your dick... is that what you want?" My fingers stop on his button.
"Shit." He breaths out.
"That's not an answer, Lucifer."
"Fuck, Avery. Yes, that's what I want."
I smile. "That sounded good... say it again." I undo his pants for my index finger to slip inside of it, touching his skin under the underwear in the process. "And again." I make my middle finger join soon. "And again." Hearing a long breath out coming from him, I don't wait another second, my entire hand slips inside of his underwear until they touch the beginning of his cock. Slowly tracing it upwards towards the shaft. Like music to my ears, the air coming out of Lucifer's mouth surrounds me.
I stare at his eyes to see them closed, relaxed under the touch of my fingers. His boner is now wrapped around my hand to gently start caressing it up and down. "Fuck, love, that feels fucking good."
I don't move my body, my back rests on the wall as if nothing is happening, trying to look interested in the movie, but Lucifer and his heavy chest is all I care about right now.
Feeling his hand suddenly reaching to my thigh, Lucifer squeezes my skin as my hand doesn't stop with the slowly and now firmly grip stroking it up and down. "Shit." The way that his mouth is slightly opened and his lips are that bright pinkish colour, I can't help but stare at them for a while. I get lost in them, not giving attention to my hand on his dick or even his hand moving downwards to my pelvis.
I don't go up and down anymore, I simply touch with the tip of my fingers his shaft, playing around like I'm drawing something to then see his eyes open with sweet shine in them, as I give it a last stroke towards his balls.
His hand suddenly goes deeper into my pelvis. "Where does your hand think it's going, mister?" I teasingly ask.
A low chuckle coming from him makes my heart sink to my stomach once I get the touch of his fingertips caressing my inner thighs. "You really though I was gonna let you shut me up?" Another chuckle. "You definitely got the wrong guy."
"The wrong guy?" I lift an eyebrow. "You didn't sound like the wrong guy a second ago. No. You sounded like the right fucking guy, enjoying my hand—" I stroke up and down again, slowly, to tease him. Seeing his teeth bite his lower lip, I smile escapes my mouth. "C'mon, talk to me." I speed my hand.
"Fuck, Avery." His hand grabs my thigh with strength just as if that's what's keeping him from saying something out loud instead of a whisper.
I don't want to get caught by our friends, no way, but making it harder for him it's way more fun than doing nothing. "Shhh, Lucifer." I tease going even quicker on him. "You have to quiet."
Suddenly, my hand instead of doing it with speed, my strokes go harder from the shaft to his balls, allowing me to see his eyes roll back just like his head swings to the wall behind him. "Fu—ck." He whimpers out.
That was hot.
His other hand reaches up to my cheek bringing me closer to his face, meeting out eyes as my hand doesn't stop. "Avery." Lucifer calls my name. I want to hear it again, so giving up on the hard strokes, my fingers now playing around in the middle of his dick. Teasing it like there's no tomorrow, bringing out yet another long breath from Lucifer's mouth before biting his lip preventing his throat to let something out loud.
My hand wraps around it once again, and just like times before, up and down towards the shaft. "Keep go— keep going." He insists. "Please."
"What's that?" I brush our lips together making him open his eyes to meet mine. "Say it again." I speed.
"Please, love. Don't— don't stop." His chest quickly bringing the air in and out almost crushes into mine. Covering his mouth with my other palm, his eyebrows slightly furrow giving me the hint that he's going to finish. So I don't stop.
But I'm not done with my words. "Donovan, speak to me." I remove my hand from his mouth.
"You're doing so go— good love." He whimpers out. "Keep doing what you're doing." I place my hand on his mouth once again.
"Is that so?" I tease with a smile. "You want me so fucking bad, Lucifer. Get a grip, asshole."
It's almost here. Lucifer tilting his head back and taking his left hand towards mine on his dick allows me to know. Removing it, he places his hand where mine was so I don't get dirty, seconds later, him biting his lower lip with strength brings nothing but a smile to my face.
He came.
He came because my hand did it.
Lucifer finally opens his eyes, letting me see those shining green eyes. Without hesitating, feeling the proudness rush through my veins, I make our lips brush with each other allowing for a side smile to come out of my mouth. His hair is a mess, his chest speeds while the air enters his mouth, his lips are strangely puffy while his cheeks are a rare colour of red. And his eyes, his damn eyes staring at me like the most wonderful thing just happened to them. "And you thought I begged." I tease.
Giving me a little smile while he's still troubling with his breathing, he tries to crush our lips together, but I immediately stop him by moving away. Still, with our eyes locked. "I never lose, Donovan. You better get cleaned up... the movie is almost over." Making those my last words, my back now rests on the wall like the movie got my attention all along.
"Fuck, Avery." I hear Lucifer whisper against my ear as he gets up. "Don't think I'm not gonna get revenge."
"Revenge?" I stare at his eyes and body, now kneeled down by my side.
"Yeah."
"What? You're gonna kill me?" I joke, but the way that he leans closer giving me a grin, makes my joke slowly fade away from my head.
He gently shakes his head. "You'll be screaming... that's for fucking sure." Lucifer turns around leaving the living room behind before I can even let a word out.
I don't think that matters, though, my heart it's going at full speed. And my tongue... it's so tied up that it looks like when you take out the Christmas' lights from the box after a year of not using them.
Yeah, a mother fucking mess.
"I can't believe that asshole survived."
Bobby complaining about the movie takes me attention away from Lucifer.
"Yeah," Griffin agrees "he deserved nothing but a brutal death."
"Or some chopped balls," Colin follows "at least."
Ivy getting up to grab the control, a long sigh comes out of her mouth. "And he got the pretty girl?! That's bullshit."
"That fact it's making me hate the movie."
"The killer was hot, though." Paul gets everyone attention with his words. And the fact that every eyes stare at him confused, he just shrugs his shoulders like the innocent kid I'm sure he isn't. "What? He was hot!"
"He just had nice hair." Griffin shakes his head by his side, bringing Paul's eyes on him.
"And? That's hot."
"Let's see you when he shaves his hear."
"I'll love him then too."
"Google him." Griffin gets up followed by Paul, who immediately takes his phone out of his back pocket. "And if he's still hot now, I'll give it to you."
"Deal."
I want to see, intrigued. But before I can, Ada walking in front of lead my eyes towards hers. "Where's Lucifer?"
Getting on my feet to stare at her more comfortably, I play it cool, simply shrugging my shoulders. "Why the hell would I know?"
"He was with you ten minutes ago."
"I don't know, Ada. He probably got tired of his own stupidity and is now sleeping." I add with a fake smile. "Good for me, I don't have to hear his annoying ass voice anymore!"
Bobby suddenly appearing behind Ada, soon followed by Ivy, Ryker and Colin bring my attention towards them, who have nothing but suspicion on my words. "Did you kill him?" Bobby finally asks.
"Bobby!" Ivy slaps the side of his arm.
"What?! That movie is gonna have me thinking everyone in this room is a murder. Get used to it."
"It was awful!" Ryker complains. "Did that scared you?"
"Please," Bobby turns to lock eyes with him "don't act tough. The other day you saw a cockroach in the kitchen and screamed like a little baby."
Ryker admits his defeat by simply nodding with a disgusting expression, remembering the awful moment.
"He's probably in the bathroom." Ivy continues. "Stop annoying Lilith."
I inevitably point at Ivy, who immediately gives me a smile. "That's why you're my second favorite."
"Who's first?" Ivy asks as if she was offended.
"It's me." Colin says out of the blue. "Obviously."
"You wish." I shake my head. "It's mommy Ada, of course."
"As much as I want to say thank you and I love you too, I hate that you call me mommy Ada."
"That's exactly why I call you mommy Ada."
"Where's Lucifer?" Griffin suddenly appears followed by Paul.
"Lilith killed him." Before I can continue Bobby's words, everyone's eyes are on me.
"I'm not surprised!"
"As much as I want to say yes, I didn't. He just got up and left." I'm so good at lying sometimes I even believe myself.
But even then, the people in front of me don't seem to think the same thing.
"So if I call him right now?" Colin now speaks. "Is he gonna answer?"
"How on Earth would I be able to kill him, hide his heavy ass body, get back in here and pretend like nothing happened in less than ten minutes?"
A chuckle comes from Ada's mouth. "You and I both know you're totally capable of that."
Colin quickly nods. "After you and your strange ways of knowing the killer was inside the house, I don't doubt that."
"I'm just really good at getting into the mind of a killer."
"Yeah," Bobby nodding takes my eyes to him "because you're one!"
"My own friends," I joke "the audacity!"
"Lucifer!" Colin lets out so loudly, Ryker who's by his side, has to cover his ears to prevent them from hurting.
"Ouch, Colin, you almost made my ear explode."
"Lucifer!" Now Griffin is the one screaming.
"They're literally perfect for each other."
"Lucifer!" Both of them shake the walls of the apartment. Ryker, giving up and saving his ears from exploding, heads towards the kitchen followed by Ada, Bobby, Paul and Ivy. "LUCIFER!"
"Damn—!" His raspy voice complains once he arrives in the living room. My eyes lead to him, his hands are slightly wet just like his hair, messy as always too. But what gets my attention the longest, is the fact that he's no longer wearing the same jeans as before, sending an immediate smile to my face. "I'm here, what's all this yelling?"
Both Colin and Griffin walk towards him, grabbing each one an arm from their friend. "Where did you go?"
"To wash my hands, the popcorn got them all sticky."
"We missed you." Colin giving Lucifer puppy eyes as a joke, he's soon followed by Griffin, who does the same.
I can't help but smile, again.
"I was gone for like a minute."
Colin opens his mouth widely, offended. "So?! You didn't miss us?!"
Placing his hand on his chest like he just heard the most awful words ever, Griffin also swipes a fake tear away from his cheek. "My heart hurts."
Colin follows his friend. "Our dad... he hates us."
Meanwhile, Lucifer just stands there with the most expressionless face ever, used to Colin and Griffin dramatic scenes.
But my head, can't seem to forget about a word it heard coming from Colin's mouth. "Dad?" I ask, lifting an eyebrow.
The fact that his friends call him that... I don't know how I didn't burst out laughing when my ears heard that.
Colin immediately nods. "He's the oldest."
"Takes care of us."
"Cooks us food."
"Solves our fights."
"Sometimes he even does our laundry."
Colin slaps the side of Lucifer's cheek. "Our daddy!"
Getting up seeing how Lucifer is now rolling his eyes at his friends, they soon follow it with a laugh enjoying his annoyance. "I don't know if I should laugh or be concerned." I say as soon as my body arrives in front of them.
"Who wants to make pancakes?!" Ada's scream from the kitchen gets everyone's attention, before any of us can carry our previous conversation.
"You already know the answer to that, Ada!"
Both Colin and Griffin don't hesitate on walking towards the kitchen, leaving us and my strange concern for the way Lucifer's friend call him.
"Daddy?" My tongue asks the moment I lock eyes with Lucifer. Finally, I let out a laugh realising how strange it is.
Lucifer? Daddy?
"What?" I hear him ask bringing me back from my own thoughts. Leaning towards my face, the grin now on his lips lead my eyes to them. Lucifer, enjoying our closeness, he doesn't hesitate on brushing our noses together without giving importance to our fiends happily making pancakes in the other room. "Don't get weirded out, Avery," he finally says almost in a whisper, carrying his words with a raspy and deep tone. My eyes meet his "you'll probably call me that too."
My heart speeds once my eyes follow the grin becoming bigger. Lucifer doesn't allow me to say anything else, instead, stepping away from me without unlocking our eyes, he heads towards the hallway of the rooms. Once there, ready to turn the side and walk inside his room, he first points at me with his head, indicating that I should follow him.
He doesn't wait for a response. Before I can even let a breath out, Lucifer turns his body to the side and disappears from my sight.
Ugh.
Now my mind and body are fighting each other on what should I do.
Follow him?
Or not?
Our friends are gonna notice us gone. Maybe the pancakes will work as a distraction, give us enough time...
Look at me, talking like the horniest person alive. There's only one reason why Lucifer told me to follow him, and I'm not even considering not going.
Is this what I've come to?
Just saying yes whenever he says so?
He's good, though. Not gonna deny that.
Is is that bad that I want to give myself a good time?
No.
Is it that bad that it is with the guy I hate?
Maybe.
Yes, probably.
Who am I kidding?
I'm gonna end up following him anyway.
Fuck this.
Turning my head off, my feet walk to where I saw Lucifer last. The familiar long and dark hallway appears in front of me. Allowing myself to remember which one was Lucifer's room, I stay still wondering my eyes around.
It doesn't take me long, but not because my head remembered, Lucifer waiting for me on the door frame of his room and a side smile on his lips helps me find my way.
"If I didn't come," I saw to him while arriving in front of me "were you gonna wait for me there the whole night?"
He gives me a confident side smile, nothing but cockiness in his eyes. "I knew you were gonna follow me, Avery."
This confident asshole. "How?" I lift my eyebrow, giving him the hint that I don't believe his words.
Leaning closer to my face and bringing the palm of his hand on my cheek, gently caressing it, my chest suddenly tightens as if his touch made everything inside of me go into idiot mode. "I could see it in your eyes." Lucifer breaks our eye contact to give my lips a quick look. Catching his eyes shining, it sends a little side smile to my lips now.
"Are you a wizard or something?" I tease, closing the space between us by an inch.
A chuckle escapes his mouth. Before replying, teasing me like like I did him, Lucifer brushes our noses together hitting me with the air coming out of him, warming up my skin. My hands act on themselves, they fly towards Lucifer's waist pulling him closer to me. I hear another low chuckle come out of him. "It doesn't take a wizard to see that you want me, Avery."
Lifting my chin up for my lips to be closer to his skin, Lucifer can't help it, he stays longer staring at them, giving in to the desire his body is growing. "And it doesn't take a witch to see that you want me more than I do, Donovan."
He smiles. "Is that so?" Whispering his words, Lucifer now takes both of his hands on my cheeks grabbing them tightly, almost crushing our lips together by placing my head just an inch away from him.
"Or maybe I am a witch," I tease again "who knows?"
"You? A witch?" Lucifer caresses my lips with his. Inevitably, the need to kiss him right now grows even more. "I'll be dead already."
"No," I slowly and gently shake my head, not wanting for our lips to separate "I would tell you that I'm a witch but I wouldn't kill you right away."
"Make me wait, nice, Avery."
"Drive you inside, that's for sure."
He smiles, now heading his left hand towards my neck pulling me closer, to the point of us already tasting each other. But not a kiss just yet. "You already drive me inside, Avery."
"Good or bad?"
"Up to you."
Finally, like he's been waiting to do that since we locked eyes with each other, he unites our lips together, crushing them like the desire of each other's bodies is the only thing controlling us.
His lips are warm, heating mine up as he starts to carry them more into the kiss. It's slow at first, getting used to the other and that familiar taste rushing to us. Lucifer doesn't wait any longer, even if the kiss is slow, he manages to slip his tongue inside of my mouth by gently taking it out of his. They touch, caress each other as if they would want to wrap themselves up like two snakes in the wild.
My skin is getting warmer. When Lucifer slowly traces my cheek down until my neck, his fingers give it a squeeze allowing for a low moan to shake out of my throat.
We don't speed the kiss up, first wanting both to breath in, we split our lips apart missing the other's taste almost immediately. My chest needs to catch up, I wasn't thinking about it, losing myself in Lucifer's lips, but I was holding my breath like my life depended on it.
Damn Lucifer... he's a great kisser.
His shining green eyes stare at me, up to mine to then lose themselves once again in my lips. His cheeks being the color of a light pink, allows me to feel his body being warm just like mine. Holding me tight in place, Lucifer doesn't let go, as if he wants to say there for him to enjoy the sigh of my face in front of him, and maybe worst, being filled with lust and desire just because we kissed.
Suddenly, when his eyes meet mine, my heart speeds. I can't control it, I can't tell it to stop, I get nervous because he's eyes are on mine.
Me? Nervous? Because of a boy?
He's not a boy...he's fucking Lucifer Donovan.
I ask myself for the third time since I've known him, what makes him so special?
Fuck.
Not that again.
Hearing Ada's laugh before I can even say anything, the reminder that we're not alone in the house comes back to me. I can't help but think what would happen if any of them walk on us... either chaos or people winnings or losing bets.
Suddenly, Lucifer bringing me closer to pull us both into the room behind him, my body makes a decision to stay put for a second. "What about our friends?" I can't help but ask.
"Let them hear," he doesn't hesitate on answering "let them know the hottest people in this apartment are fucking."
Alright, before my heart was speeding, now it wants to jump out of my chest and kiss the shit out of Lucifer.
No, heart, we can't.
Lucifer, like he usually does, doesn't wait for an answer coming from my mouth, he pulls me inside like he wanted since the beginning. This time, I do follow him. Slipping his arm towards the door behind me, Lucifer keeps our eyes locked as I hear the door of the room closing.
Click.
Now it's only us.
My heart is speeding again. I stare at his eyes, bright and green, looking at my lips as if they are the water that a dessert, him, it's missing.
My hands don't wait for my brain, instead, they take it upon themselves to touch Lucifer's waist and pull him by grabbing his shirt. He doesn't complain, better, he gives me a side smile brushing our noses together.
He wants to kiss me. I can see it in the way that his lips just can't stay still, but for some reason, Lucifer doesn't end the space between us. Instead, he teases us both by looking at them and tracing with his eyes every single angle of my face. It's like he wants to sink in the moment and enjoy it for whatever reason I can't just simply understand. Either way, my body doesn't mind. So, now moving my hands towards his chest, I trace it down until his stomach. I want to pull his shirt up and caress his fit stomach, but before I can, a long sigh comes out of his mouth.
"Shit, Avery." He smiles shaking his head slowly side to side. Closing his eyes, I try to deduce what's happening with him. My eyes travel down, looking for something that would help me understand.
It doesn't take me long.
Oh, God. I need to laugh.
He has a boner.
I can't help it, a low laugh escapes my mouth. "Oh, Lucifer— even faster than before." Another laugh. He's just facing down with his eyes still closed. "Twice! I'm never gonna let this go." Finally, locking eyes with me, he stares acknowledging his defeat. Letting me enjoy it, he doesn't say a word. "And you thought you had a chance on winning? Stupid, stupid, stupid, Donovan. Giving you a boner a second time in less than half an hour just by touching you." I lean towards his lips, letting out a side smile. "I guess I am a witch after all. Most men can't do this, maybe the name Lucifer makes you a bit different—"
Now he lets out a low laugh. "I know that, you're the proof of that too. Just like I know I don't need my dick to make you cum." He leans even closer, touching our noses together as he gives me a cocky smile. "Twice." Asshole. "You didn't need to worry about giving me a boner, love, with just my tongue I already have your knees shaking."
"Yeah," I slowly nod, ready to tease him "and my mouth letting out your name?" His eyes go down to my lips, perfect. "Moaning it? Whispering? Whimpering? How do you prefer it?"
Now his hands grabbing my waist, Lucifer slightly tilting his head to the side giving me a side smile, he doesn't let out a word before pulling me up once his hands reach down to my thighs quicker as the wind. My legs are wrapped around his body just like my arms around his neck, our lips are now barely touching, tasting the hot breath coming out of us. "Screaming it." He finally says.
Without waiting a second, crushing our lips together once again I can feel his pelvis hitting mine. This one, it's rougher than the one before. Our desire for each other it's finally being shown in the way that we're tasting the kiss, our lips moving in synch, fitting perfectly like two partners dancing Tango. My skin doesn't hold back, after a couple of seconds already in the kiss the heat rushes through it.
I can't control anything else my body does. My hand flies to his neck to grab it and give it a little squeeze, tightly. My legs want to feel him closer to me, so, with all the strength they have, they push Lucifer against my skin getting the warmth of him on me.
His tongue suddenly enters my mouth. Playing around with mine, again, like the two pieces of a puzzle fitting perfectly with each other. And the sudden strange feeling inside my chest, it's like I'm actually putting together a puzzle and the joy for finally finding the last piece to complete it just happened to me.
I want to keep going, I don't care that I'm having trouble breathing at this point. My hands bring Lucifer closer, but, he suddenly breaks the kiss as a long sigh comes out of his mouth.
"Fuck—!" He lets out annoyed in a loud whisper.
"What?" Focusing my head on the room around to to try understand what's he annoyed at, the sound of his phone vibrating hit my ears.
He doesn't respond to me, instead, leading my body towards the bed and dropping there, he quickly removes the phone from his back pocket and throws it aside without even looking who it is, his thumb ends the call uninterested.
"Eager to fuck me, I see." I tease once he locks eyes with me. Rolling his eyes, even if a little smile escapes his mouth, he leans over the bed resting his hands by the side of my head. "Does the second boner hit harder or...?" I joke making me laugh at my own words.
"No, with you, Avery, every time I want to fuck the shit out of you." Kissing me again, he enables me to come up with response. But just like times before, my tongue is like nope, and it tangles itself.
Great job, tongue, you're doing amazing.
His phone vibrates again.
"Shit," Lucifer breaks the kiss "the fuck do they want?!"
"Just answer them," I roll my eyes "they're definitely excited to talk with the amazing," I let out sarcastically "Lucifer Donovan."
"It's probably Covaliov, I have a fight next weekend."
He suddenly stays quiet. Giving me a smile as his eyes look down for a bit, I know exactly the memory that just went through his head.
"Uh, uh." Placing my hand on his chest, I try to pull him away. He doesn't even move a finger. "You're not gonna put it on speaker, Donovan."
Lucifer laughs, grabbing his phone still vibrating once he gets off the bed. "Why not? It was fun."
"Shut up."
Giving me another laugh, he finally answers the call without even looking at the screen. "Hello?"
I wait for him to be annoyed at his coach being on the other side of the phone, but he doesn't look like it. Worst, his eyes go a bit wide as his mouth slightly opens surprised. Who the hell just called him? "Hi, Mr. Avery!"
Excuse me—
What?
My body brusquely sitting down on the bed almost makes me lose balance and fall to the floor, but I'm too focused on the conversation going on in front of me to even care.
"I've been doing great! How about you?" Lucifer looks as surprised and confused as I am.
I was always able to see the meaning behind my grandparents' actions. Doing something nice, or something remotely of our liking, it ended in them manipulating us because they wanted the perfect family in a dinner party.
But right now, what could my grandad earn from calling Lucifer?
What does he want?
"I'm glad." Giving my full attention to Lucifer once again, I don't know if in his eyes he's asking me for help or if that's just his confused look. "Oh, yes, sorry I just got out of training." Another Avery lecturing about not answering a call... figures.
"Invite me?"
Invite him? Where?
"Oh, it was nothing. Me taking Lilith to the hospital was just a simple friend favor." Lucifer goes silent for a couple of seconds. Transforming his confused look into a little smile, he simply nods. "Yes, friends." He goes silent again hearing Philip's words.
My intrigue is killing me inside.
What is this call about?
"For Teddy?"
For Teddy? What does my brother have to do—
Oh, no. No, no, no, no.
The dinner party.
They want to invite Lucifer?! Why?!
"That's such a nice thing to do." No, it's not!
"I'm sure Joyce has great ideas." He can't come. What are my grandparents thinking?!
They're not! That's for sure!
I can't bare it anymore, I get up from the bed to stand in front of Lucifer and slap the side of his arm. I try my best, but he's not even faced. "This weekend?"
"Come up with an excuse!" A loud whisper comes out of my mouth.
Lucifer doesn't give me a reply, instead, he keeps his full attention on Philip. Suddenly, his confused look is back. "Joyce wants me there too?"
No.
That's literally impossible.
Philip is lying.
"Speaker!" I smack the side of his arm again, and this time, he answers to my words.
"Yes!" I hear Philip's voice once Lucifer places his phone in between us. "She's thrilled that you're coming!"
Liar!
Even if Lucifer met Joyce once... he also knows that's definitely not true. "That's... nice."
"So, can you come Lucifer?" I hear a little bit of excitement in his tone. Still, I can't find the reason why would my grandparents... more like Philip, invite Lucifer for something that's for Teddy. What does Lucifer have to bring?
Nothing.
"Uh—" Lucifer hesitates staring at my eyes. Giving him the look of you better say no, he opens his mouth again to speak—
"Honestly, I think it would mean a lot to Lilith if you came."
HUH—?
No, it wouldn't!
Philip is on drugs! Drugs, I say!
He must be talking about some other Lilith, because the Lilith that's standing right here in my body would hate if Lucifer came to the party.
My family is another world. The one that I'm in with Lucifer it's a whole other... universe, even.
He shouldn't come. He can't.
"She seemed very happy with you."
Happy?! When am I ever happy when Lucifer's around?!
When he makes you finish—
Shut up.
Opening my mouth like I just heard the most disgusting news ever, my eyes get a surprise... Lucifer's smiling right now.
But not the kind of smile of I just saw a puppy, the kind of smile the killer makes when they get away with murder. And for Lucifer, he didn't kill anybody, he just found something to annoy me with.
He nods without erasing the smile from his face. "Yes, she does."
I want the slap the shit out of him.
My body listens to my needs, with the palm of my hand and a quick swing, I slap the side of his arm for like the third time since the phone call started.
He doesn't even react to it, the pride inside of him is bigger than any slap I can give him.
Fuck.
"And, since you know her family I'm sure that they would love to have you at the party." Again, definitely another family. "You took Lilith to see little Teddy at the hospital, that's no little favor."
What a great manipulator Philip is. He knows that after that comment, no decent human being is gonna say no. But... Lucifer is not a decent human being, maybe there's still a way out.
A good excuse.
"Do you have anything that prevents you from coming here?"
Nodding quickly, I mouth out a simple yes. "Come up with an excuse!"
Lucifer doesn't reply after my words. Instead, turning the cocky smile into a side one, he shakes his head as slowly as possible for me to see every second of it. "No, I don't."
I'm gonna kill him.
"Fantastic! We'll see you here!"
"You will."
"This is marvellous! Oh, I'm so excited."
"Me too, Mr. Avery."
"See you Friday!"
"Yes, see you."
I'm heating up. The blood in my veins rush, my chest gets filled with anger as the air coming in and out troubles my ability to let out words.
My words, my hand, even my face told him I didn't want him to come. He wants to annoy me so bad that he's willingly going to a dinner party? To my grandparents' house? With my family?
No.
He has gone too far.
"What the fuck, Lucifer?" I ask when he ends the call. Looking at me and giving me just a shrug of a shoulders, he places his phone inside his back pocket again.
"What?" He asks, uninterested.
Is he serious?
"What do you mean what?!" I snap out loud. Surprised at my high tone and my anger, Lucifer furrows his eyebrows confused lifting his hand towards me to stop me from yelling.
"Calm down!"
"Calm down?! Why would I calm down?! Why did you say yes?!"
"Because your grandparent invited me!" Matching my tone, Lucifer manages to bring the anger inside of me towards my voice too.
"And?!" I ask, even more loudly. "Are you gonna come to dinner every Friday night too!? Just be one of us?!" The words coming out of my mouth just slip up, they don't go through my brain. At this point, I even believe my brain isn't the one talking.
"It's just a dinner party! Philip probably thought that it was a good idea!"
A fake chuckle leaves my mouth. "Oh, now you're calling him Philip?! What's next? Phil?!"
Rolling his eyes, a long sigh coming out of Lucifer's mouth reaches the skin on my face. "What was I supposed to say? No?!"
"Yes! There's a reason why I'm mad at you, Lucifer!"
"I can't say no after he said all of those things, the favor, Teddy and your mom!"
"That's what he does! Manipulate you with his nice words to get you to say yes!"
"Why are you so mad that I said it?" His question makes my mouth go shut. My brain suddenly wakes up... I don't truly know why I'm mad. "Don't you hate going to your grandparents' house?" Lucifer speaks again. "Maybe if I go we can make it fun—"
Fun?!
"No! You're not supposed to be there!"
"Why not?!"
"Because—!"
I don't know.
It's a black whole without an answer if I ask myself why I'm so heated up at him for going to the party. Him just being there, in my head, it gives me the sudden strange feeling in my chest. It's tight. Like my heart suddenly gets weirded out at Lucifer hanging out at a dinner party in my grandparents' house.
Is it the I just don't want him there a good enough reason?
Yes.
"It's my family!" I finally speak. "You can't be there with my family!"
"Fine! I won't talk to them!"
"No, it won't make a difference! Don't go!"
"I already said yes!"
"Then get sick and use that as an excuse!"
"Why don't you want me there, Avery? What's the big deal?!" He's getting tired of the argument, I can tell. The way that his words just come out louder the more he speaks, the unknown answer to why I don't want him there it's killing him.
"It's just—" I say before even thinking about it, but I stop, the words that should come next don't appear. Fuck! Trying to come up with an answer my head turns into a mess. The idea of just me not wanting him there won't answer his question, and neither does mine to be honest, my chest feels different. Like that reason isn't just it.
But even if I'm trying, I can't come up on the why. "No!" I finally let out giving up. "I won't explain it to you! Just don't go!"
"He was really excited, it's gonna make him really sad!"
"Why do you care?!"
"Yes," he nods giving me a fake smile "because my goal in life is to make old people sad. Don't you have a heart?"
"No!" I reply without thinking.
He chuckles. "Not surprised!"
"Aren't you doing this to annoy me?! You did it, good job! Now don't go!"
He shakes his head. "I'm not doing this to annoy you, Lilith. Maybe I wanted to when your grandad said about you being happy but then he said those words— I couldn't say no!"
"No! There! It's that easy!"
"It's just a stupid dinner party." Lucifer suddenly brings his tone down, softly, the more understanding he can get making my heart suddenly speed. "Lilith, why are you mad?"
Good question, Lucifer. Good fucking question.
The way that I can't even answer the feeling as nervousness or annoyance... it's just strange. I get the need to run, walk away and just forget about it. Forget about Lucifer and his desire to go to the dinner party, my grandparents inviting him probably to make something out of it and how's everything making me feel.
It's my family. Mine. Why does Lucifer have to be there?
And why... don't I feel the same when Ada is around my family?
It makes me feel uncomfortable.
I won't ask why, the answer is definitely not in me. I need it to go away as fast as possible, but for the way that he's arguing with me right now... there's no point. He's persistent about going.
I shake my head. "Fuck you, Lucifer." I let out now, softly.
"Well, fuck you too."
I can't be in his room anymore, everything surrounding me get my insides even more uncomfortable. And Lucifer's eyes, trying to read what mine are trying to tell, doesn't help to prevent my feet from walking away towards the door. "Fuck!" I hear Lucifer complain once I'm out his room, heading now into the living room. "Lilith, wait!"
"No, Lucifer, fuck off!"
He follows me. I hear his footsteps getting closer and closer, so I speed my walk. "Just wait!"
"No!"
I need to be out of his apartment. The air around me becomes suddenly thicker, enabling to be at ease when I need to take a breath in. My heart it's gonna jump out of my chest, speeding at the speed of light.
"Let's talk!" I hear Lucifer again.
"Guys, what's going on?" When my hand is on the handle of the front door ready to open it, Ivy's voice stops me. Soon, I also have Lucifer's hand touching my shoulder.
"Just wait—" I push it away, to then open the door.
"Lilith?" Ada's now in the living room. Wanting to see my best friend and her worried eyes, I turn my head towards her being followed by the entire group behind her.
Great.
I can't deal with this right now.
"I'll see you later, guys." I simply give them a tiny smile to then start my way out the apartment.
"Lucifer!" I hear Colin. "What did you do?!"
"Nothing!"
It's true.
He has done nothing wrong.
Then... why am I mad?
Am I mad?
Upset?
Or... freaking out because Lucifer's getting closer to me and my family?
Feelings are a tricky thing.
I guess I'll never know.
