CHAPTER SEVEN.

"what is this? love and war?"

ayzha nyree - "no guidance"

"What are you doing?" I hear Ada ask the moment she gently grabs my arm, forcing me to take a step inside of the apartment.

"I wanted to take some fresh air." I reply shrugging my shoulders, trying to sound as normal as possible.

Even if I don't want to lie to Ada, I don't have a clue what the hell am I doing following Lucifer. And telling her the truth, the fact that I'm heading out to meet him is a thought I don't want her to know. The words that could come out of her mouth after that.

"Let me go with you, I don't want you out there alone—" Ada is quickly cut off by Colin walking with speed out of the apartment, slightly brushing my shoulder with his. He seems worried as well as Ryker, who immediately follows him. "Ryker? What's going on?" Ada asks noticing the same thing as me.

"Don't leave the party." Ryker's tone comes out almost like an order making me furrow my eyebrows confused at them. I've never seen him talk to her like that.

"Why? What happened?" I can't help but try to catch his shoulder and stop him from leaving us behind, but it's too late since as soon as I move my hand upwards he's out of my sight, following Colin to the stairs.

"What is that all about?" Ada asks by my side. I shake my head as a response not understanding any of it.

I stand still trying to think of something that would make them leave the party rushed and worried, when Paul and Bobby, the boxers that I met the day before at the gym, walk worryingly out of the apartment just like everyone did moments before. I get even more confused than I already was, it's inevitably. Me and my curiosity wonder and wonder.

Is it a coincidence that every boxer walked out of the apartment like that? Why—?

It's not like there's a single hint of a fight going on outside the party.

Oh, shit.

My head places the pieces together like a crime scene that could lead me to the killer.

There is a coincidence after all.

"Wait— Lucifer just walked out." I say quickly gaining a strange look from Ada, but before she can let out a word my feet are already out of the apartment following the quick boys. Even if I know that my best friend is confused, asking herself how I know this, my ears hear her following me behind my back as quickly as I'm going.

How I didn't fall to the floor with my quick steps going down the stairs, I don't know, but I sigh of relief comes out of my body as soon as I take the last step and see the big door leading to the street. I open it feeling the wind blow around my skin immediately, sending a bit of chills down my back.

When my eyes surround what I have in front of me, all of that curiosity turns into confusion once again. The noise of the door makes Ada and I gain a lot of eyes on us, but not from all of the people outside.

The same boys that left the building are here accompanied by four other strange men. They're tall and athletic, like Lucifer and all those boxers behind him. I want to recognise them and maybe put the pieces together on what's happening, but there isn't enough light for me to do so, so, my feet take a couple of steps closer to them. Once I do, I find Bobby, Colin and Paul, the three of them standing behind an angry Lucifer. He's clenching his jawline as his chest takes big chunks of air in and out. Facing another guy very closely, intimidatingly, he's stopping me from seeing his opponent's face, I can't recognise him at all.

Just like the four boys that I know, the strange man standing like he owns the place, has three other men behind him. I can see their mouths moving like they're talking to each other, but from where I'm standing it's nothing but non sense mumbling like extras in a movie scene.

Ada grabs my arm and pulls me back to prevent me from going further. Even if a part of me believe she's right, that I shouldn't get involved in whatever is happening here, I'm not gonna give up. Curiosity wins, every time. I want to know who they are and what's going on in front of me. Why the boys walked out of the apartment with worried eyes. And why is Lucifer almost killing with his eyes this strange man that I haven't recognised yet. Curiosity on me sometimes doesn't lead me to the best ending, I know that, but even if I want to prevent it it's too late, my body is already walking me closer to Colin, who's now behind Lucifer.

As soon as I arrive my head turns to the side to see the guy that's standing in front of Lucifer. And when I do, I can't help but ask myself what's he doing here.

"Damian, you better walk away. Now." Lucifer's raspy voice shakes out of his mouth towards Damian. From the way that they're both staring at each other, there's not doubt in my mind that they don't like the other very much.

I didn't know that being from different boxing clubs could be this kind of serious.

"We just wanted to have some fun, Lucifer. C'mon, no need to get angry." Damian replies as a smile is placed on his lips. He seems like he's enjoying the fact that Lucifer is angry at his appearance, for him it's just a stupid little game he clearly likes to play: annoying Lucifer.

I can get behind that, to be honest.

"Have fun somewhere else." Colin joins the conversation. "There's no need for this. This is our apartment and like the rules say— you can't be here."

Damian's smile grows bigger.

Maybe their game isn't just annoying Lucifer but the whole group. I've never seen Colin this serious in the few days that I've met him, and for the type the person he is I'm sure he isn't the one to get angry at stupid things... It makes me wonder if this is a game to begin with.

"You guys are still pissed that I won against one of you guys?" Damian pushes their annoyance further. "Where is he? Maybe we can do a re match right now, I'm down." Damian starts to look around for his ex opponent. Seconds later, when he locks eyes with me, the smile on his face becomes even bigger. "Lilith?" He asks shifting everyone's attention towards me. Every single attempt to read their expressions is a fail. Automatically, Lucifer turns his whole body to where I'm standing, and my eyes go totally and a hundred percent in him. Noticing that his stare is full of surprise of me being down there with them, I can tell no good is gonna come out of this.

"The fuck are you doing down here?" He asks getting closer to me with quick steps.

"Excuse me?" I reply, lifting an eyebrow. "Who are you talking to right now?"

"Ada, I told you to stay in the party." Ryker says softly as he grabs my friend's waist and pulls her back.

"What's going on?" Lucifer doesn't answer my question, he isn't looking at me either, he has his eyes glued to Damian who started to walk closer to me with decisive steps.

"Great! We have the girls as audience!" Damian says, excited. "I would love to give you two a great show!"

"You get close and I'll beat the shit out of you." Ryker steps closer to him.

Ada gently grabs his arm. She's as confused as me, but doesn't hide it as well. Her eyes show what her whole body is feeling. Tension and nerves. Or at least, what I'm able to read it.

I hear Damian let out a laugh without stopping his steps towards us. "Buddy, I would like to see you try."

Paul steps in front of him and places his hands on Damian's shoulders, slightly pushing him back. "Why don't you guys leave our territory so nobody gets hurts, huh?" He's the most calm out of all of them. "We don't want this to end badly."

Damian takes a step back without taking his eyes away from mine. I can't seem to process why the hell is the situation between them so bad, for me, it's just a stupid boxing game. "Lilith, c'mon," Damian says and I feel Lucifer's body getting closer to mine "come with us, let us save you from this lame party."

"Save me?" I say lifting my eyebrows. "Who are you? Captain America?" My reply doesn't seem to matter to Lucifer, he steps in front of me hiding my body with his wide back from Damian.

"She's not going anywhere with you." His voice is deep and raspy, intimidating. I've never seen him like this before. A part of me likes it, just like when his softly talking in my ear. But, even then, who's he to tell me where I'm not going?

"Excuse you?" I walk to Lucifer's side gaining Damian's eyes on me.

"You better leave this asshole. You can be somewhere better, sweetheart." I can feel my veins boiling as the disgusting word comes out of his mouth. I don't like a lot of things, but being called 'sweetheart' is definitely on my top ten. I'm about to open my mouth to tell him to stop doing it, when Lucifer steps in front of me once again.

"Don't call her sweetheart." He says slowly shaking his head. I look at him to see his jawline even more clenched than the first second I saw him talking to Damian. I wonder what made him feel like that, it can't truly be because Damian called me that, can it?

"Oh," Damian says interrupting my thought. I turn to face him to notice that he's now pointing at me and Lucifer repeatedly with his index finger as a smirk grows in his mouth. "is there... you two... something going on?" He asks and I immediately furrow my eyebrows, ready to let out: "No!" at the same time as Lucifer.

"Then you can come with me." Damian immediately replies tilting his head slightly to the side.

Why is he so persistent about me going with him? So cocky about it too? There is definitely something bigger in this situation that I'm clearly not seeing. And I hate that I can't put the pieces together.

"You can't be here, Damian," Lucifer says, again "so you better fuck off before I make you. And she won't go with you."

I can't stand when people say that.

"Alright," I add lifting my hands to the air "can I get a say in this?"

"Yeah," Damian nods "let the lady choose."

"Choose? What do I have to choose?"

"Between me and him." Damian replies pointing with his head at Lucifer.

"What the fuck?" I slap myself in the forehead with the palm of my hand not processing what's going on. A minute ago I was confused, but now, I'm even more. Like the whole history of the world just placed itself in front me and I'm looking at it like it's in another language.

The fact that Damian and his group can't be here, like Lucifer said, is the competition that serious? To me, it sounds childish or even grabbed from a movie that I used to watch when I was a teenager.

As I slowly turn to the side where I know Ada is, I see Ryker grabbing her and saying something to her in a whisper. He's truly worried and wants to take her out of this situation as soon as possible, and even if she isn't the type to like confrontation, it also seems like she wants to find out what's going and stay down with me, not trusting the other team not even a bit.

And she has a fucking good gut feeling.

Hearing a noise coming from my other side, I turn my head quickly to where it came from. It didn't matter that I looked away for a couple of seconds, it was good enough for Lucifer to push Damian back when he tried to walk closer to me, once again.

"You better watch your hands." Damian says tilting his head to the side as he closes his hands into fists.

"Yeah?" Lucifer replies quickly when a smirk appears on his lips. "Or what?"

"This is ridiculous!" I yell without giving myself a chance to think my words, but it's too late to truly process what I'm saying, the words are already flying out of my mouth. "What the fuck is going on? Can you all just be grown ups and have fun for the rest of the night? What is this? Some type of teen show?"

"Lilith," Ryker walks closer to me "go back to the party and take Ada with you."

"Why? Because I'm telling you that you're acting childish and you can't handle it? Is your ego gonna get hurt?"

"Lilith—" Lucifer says now standing in front of me. Meeting those green eyes, I soon feel his hand grabbing my waist to pull me slightly back. "Go to the apartment." His tone is firm, but that still doesn't work on me.

"You guys are rivals in an illegal boxing match," I say more to Lucifer than to anyone else "why are you taking it so serious?" I let out a chuckle. "This is a little bit hilarious, I feel like I'm watching a movie right now."

"You should control your chick before I do, Lucifer." A strange male voice speaks before anyone.

Excuse me— what?

Lucifer and I immediately turn our heads towards the voice. It belongs to a guy that's standing right behind Damian, with a huge smile on his face as his arms are across his chest confidently standing.

"The fuck did you just say?" Lucifer and I ask at the same time.

"You better watch your mouth." I point at him when some gentle hands (Ada's) grab my arm, pulling me back.

She does know me well, because now all I want to do is punch the shit out of this guy.

"What are you gonna do? Scratch me with your nails?" He smiles like the joke that just coming out of his mouth is the funniest thing ever.

My fist on his face sounds like a way funnier joke.

"That sounds like a fantastic idea!" I yell at him. "I'm gonna do that and then squeeze you so all the blood comes out of all your body!" I quickly take some steps closer to the guy when Lucifer grabs my waist as a quick reflex. He lifts me up with ease and places me back on my prior place like it was the easiest thing in the world. I try to get his hands away from my body, but he's strong, I can't even move his hand a centimetre to the side.

"Calm down!" He yells with his hands still on my waist.

"Calm down?" I turn to him. "You calm down!"

"She's crazy man!" The guy yells as a big laugh comes out his mouth soon followed by the guys on his side, except for Damian, who has a smirk on his face. "What else you got?"

"Damn right she's crazy," Lucifer yells turning around to face him "and you better shut your mouth because next time I won't stop her from kicking your ass!"

"Lilith!" Colin says once he arrives by my side, but all I do is try to take Lucifer's hands out of my waist. "What the hell are you doing? You literally tried to fight a boxer!"

"Are you stupid?!" Paul and Bobby ask at the same time, now by Colin's side.

"He pissed me off!" Finally being able to free myself from Lucifer, I let out a long breath feeling Ada's hand touch my arm. "I don't give a fuck that he's a boxer, Colin!"

"I would like to kick his ass to, Lilith!" Ada says in a loud whisper by my side. "But" she pinches my arm with strength "stupid!"

"Ouch!" I complain grabbing my arm as soon as the pain appears on my skin.

Damn, she's strong!

"This is awesome!" Damian says while clapping, clearly enjoying my little show. "Lilith, now you gotta be with me because you seem to know how to have fun girl!"

"Again with that?" Lucifer rolls his eyes and immediately turns, intimidatingly looking down at him. "Why don't you stop, huh? You know you can't beat me while boxing me so you try with your words?"

"That fight is gonna be so much fun, Lucifer. I can't wait to see your ass laying in the ground after I beat the shit out of you."

"Keep dreaming."

Damian lets out a chuckle. "How about we do it now?" He says softly yet firmly.

"Lucifer—" Colin says immediately.

"You can't." Paul adds.

I stay quiet. Maybe there's some rule that doesn't allow them to fight outside of the ring. Lucifer seems to be the person to take his boxing seriously, I clearly saw that tonight, so, he's obviously going to refuse.

"How about yes."

Well, I guess not.

"Oh my god," I say annoyed "I'm stupid but this guys are stupider. Are you kidding me? At least make some money out of it and wait for the fucking ring. I'm leaving," gaining Lucifer's eyes on me I wave goodbye "you two can fuck off and keep doing what you're doing. And for the looks of it, it looks like you two are about to kiss right now. Let me know how this romantic movie ends." Rolling my eyes, tired of their little childish play I face my best friend who's trying hard to not laugh at my last comment. "Ada, you can stay with Ryker, I can go back by myself."

"Wait!" I hear Lucifer and then his hand grabbing mine.

"What do you want?" I ask, annoyed.

He does a quick look back worryingly, but what gets my attention is that he isn't looking at Damian, the guy he seems to have the most trouble with, instead, he stares at the guys behind him. "You can't leave now." He goes back at me.

"Are you fucking serious? Again with that shit? You just told me you wanted me to leave and now you want me to stay? Make up your mind!"

"It's a shame that he wants you to stay to see his ass get beaten up by me." Damian says with a joking tone, but I don't take my eyes away from Lucifer.

For the first time since I know him, I see some type of worry in his eyes. It's mixed with anger and sadness. Like they are seeing something else than just my eyes, a memory that is coming back while the voice of Damian and Colin go back and forth behind us. A past that haunts him.

Noticing that I'm not moving and that I want to know more about this, about what he's thinking about, he takes the opportunity to grab my arm and pull me in closer before turning around to finally face Colin, leaving me with a million of questions running through my mind.

What the hell was that? What happened in Lucifer's past?

"You all better leave." My ears catch Colin say when I place my focus on him.

"This is over, go." Bobby adds. "Or we're gonna have to pick the hard way."

"And what is that?" Damian teases him with a grin on his face. Silence follows his words, the tension between all of them is growing on my skin as the wind blows around me.

"You know what it is." Lucifer finally says, softly. For the looks of Damian, his eyes glued on Lucifer and the grin now disappearing from his face, I know that he immediately understood what they were talking about, whatever that is.

"I see you on the ring." Damian says walking backwards and Lucifer nods, grabbing my hand tightly.

"You will." He replies with his deep and determinanted voice, sending a little shiver down my back.

As I see everyone leave, before Damian turns around, he locks eyes with me. I feel the tension in him between my skin and bones. The silence of all our mouths is covered by the noise of them walking away, and before I can pull myself back from Lucifer's body, they're all out of my sight disappearing into the darkness of the night.

"Lucifer, this is not good." Colin finally says with his eyes glued to where Damian and his team just left.

"No." Lucifer replies softly, slowly shaking his head.

"What's not good?" I don't get a response, instead, gaining every eye on me while I turn to face Ada, she is confusingly looking at Ryker.

"All of this sounds familiar, Lucifer." Paul says and I can feel the sadness of his voice. The intrigue surrounds my body, the million of questions that are running through my head makes it feel like it's going to explode at any second.

"It's just a stupid game they're trying to play with us," Lucifer adds "don't worry about it."

"Do you really think that?" Bobby asks. "Because all I get from this is the story repeating itself."

"Nothing is repeating—" Lucifer replies quickly, cutting the tension around us. "I said don't worry about it, end of discussion."

Colin slowly shrugs his shoulders, faking his agreement with Lucifer's statement. "You know how it happend better than us, so..."

Hearing Lucifer's words Covaliov appears on my head, does his rule number two also apply when I'm out of the gym? Don't ask about what the boys do?

"What story?" Ada asks innocently, but just like me, she doesn't get a response.

"We need to call coach, now." Bobby says making everyone nod, agreeing with him.

"She can't go alone." Colin's voice speaks in front of me and I turn to him finding his eyes on mine.

"Who?"

"You." He replies and then does the same with Ada. "And her."

"She's staying with me." Ryker replies gaining an Ada on him, throwing him a million of questions.

"Why not?" I ask. "I can handle myself just fine and I still think this is just some childish game. I'm leaving." Rolling my eyes as I turn around, Lucifer quickly stops me by grabbing my hand once again. "Fuck off!"

"You can't go alone Lilith!" He replies.

"Why? Just because Colin says so?"

"No! I say so too!"

"Oh, now it's fine. Alright! If you say so then I'm gonna do what you want me to! Jesus, don't you ever learn?"

"This is more complicated than you know, Lilith. Trust me." Lucifer's words are more softly than they were before. A part of me wonders and intrigues me why, but the other part of me, stronger, rolls my eyes turning to Ada, wanting her to come with me and leave the stupid night behind.

For my surprise, I find her walking with Ryker to the inside of the apartment.

"Ada!" I yell making her turn to face me.

"Maybe you should listen to them, Lili. They seem to know what they're talking about." She gently shrugs her shoulders. "It's not gonna hurt you if you stay the night here."

"What?! Yes is it! A lot!"

"Can you handle her?" I hear Colin ask Lucifer.

"Don't worry about it." Ada answers before any of them. "I think he's as heavy headed as she is, they're gonna keep fighting all night right there."

"Enough time." Colin nods approvingly and then proceeds to walk towards the building, leaving Lucifer and I behind.

"Enough time for what?" I ask facing Lucifer once we're the only ones left outside, but he doesn't answer my question. Like usual. "Alright, fine! You're not gonna tell me anything, I'm fucking leaving."

"No, you're not." He stops me by grabbing my arm once again. Lucky for me, this time I manage to break free.

How? Who the fuck knows.

"Go to hell!"

"Then you should come with me because that's our home, baby!" He yells jokingly.

He is so annoying.

Turning around to leave him behind he makes his way in front of me with decisive quick steps that I end up crashing against his body.

"Move!"

"No, you're not going anywhere."

"And you're gonna fucking stop me?"

"Seems to be working so far." He shrugs his shoulders making me want to snap his body in half, like a glowing stick and use him as a flashlight to get home. But knowing that I couldn't even be able to snap his pinky finger, I let out an angry sigh before moving to the side trying to escape his body.

And again, he grabs my waist stopping me.

"You grab my waist again and I'll slap the shit out of you!" I point at him accusingly while he just lets out a laugh, crossing his arms on his chest.

"Do it, but I can't promise to you I won't like it."

What did he say?

I fight a laugh inside.

"This is not the time for that!" I yell ignoring my thought. "And no matter how much you try to stop me, I can spend the rest of the night trying to escape from you." As I finish to say that, he approaches me and leans closer to my face while growing a grin on his lips.

"Can you?" He says softly, teasingly, with his breathing brushing against my skin. "Can you escape, Avery?"

I lean closer forcing a smirk to grow out of my mouth. "Watch me, Donovan." Without giving him time to respond, my body swings to the right and manages to leave Lucifer out of my sight. I don't even give myself time to think, my feet make their move quicker than I could let out a breath.

But, fuck, he's quicker. Lightning on the sky on a heavy rainy at night. Close your eyes and you'll miss it.

Lucifer's hands grab my waist to lift me up to his shoulders like a bag of potatoes. Suddenly, I see his back upside down and the blood in my body immediately rushes to my head. "Lucifer! Put me the fuck down or I'll kick you!"

"If you don't want to stay, fine! I can't make you stay, but if you go, I'm going with you." He says as he starts to walk towards the street next to the road.

"No! I don't want you coming with me!"

"Sorry, but you don't got a saying in this. You can't go back alone."

"I don't got a saying in this?! Really?! I got a saying in everything and I—"

"No, Lilith, in this you don't. So why don't you shut the fuck up and let me do what I have to do." He's getting annoyed, the tone in his voice tells me that. It's screaming it at me.

I'm not done, yet. The more annoyed he is, the more soon he's gonna let me go. "I won't shut up because I won't go with you! You put me fucking down now!"

"No!"

"Now!"

"No!"

"Fuck you!"

"Fuck you too!"

"Lucifer!"

"Fine! You're so—!" He yells and then proceeds to let my body down. As soon as my feet touch ground, I turn around like a hawk not wanting to give Lucifer the opportunity to catch me. And like I had expected, the second that I start to walk away I don't feel his hands on me. A proud smile leaves my lips when I cross my arms on my chest wanting to cover my body from the cold wind blowing around me, he didn't catch me and my alone walk to my dorm has started.

He isn't chasing me so I won, fuck off Donovan.

I take a couple of steps away from where I am and there is still not sound of Lucifer following me or even saying anything under his breath.

Knowing how to annoy people sometimes has its perks. I always get what I want, no matter how.

Trying to relax myself as the sound of the night is as silent as my lonely walk, I take a long breath out. It's a lovely night, thankfully. No loud street, not any annoying people walking around with alcohol on their system, just me and my lonely walk— Oh, fuck me. The noise of a motorcycle getting closer and closer to me troubles my ears. I turn my head to the familiar vehicle now riding at my speed besides me.

Fuck—!

And double fuck!

"Get on." Lucifer's voice can be heard over the engine. I don't move a muscle towards him. "Lilith, I'm not asking."

"And should I care because...?" I reply without stopping my walk.

"Get on the fucking motorcycle."

"No, I'm not going to ride with you. Fuck off."

"Fuck!" He yells loudly making me face him. "Why are you so annoying?!"

"I don't know, it's fun!"

"No, it's not!"

"For me it is!" I let out a loud laugh. "And seeing your angry face makes it even more fun!" I turn back to face forward. I don't hear a response coming from him and that surprises me, at least I'd expect to hear a low insult under his breath.

I don't care enough to give it another thought, so, I move on. All I want is to get to my room, forget this stupid night and Lucifer following me.

"You shouldn't be involved with the gym and the boys, Lilith." Lucifer says more softly after a while in silence, still with his motorcycle by my side.

Why is he saying that?

And why so out of the blue?

His tone is lower than his prior one, he means what he's saying. Every word. It isn't him sounding annoying or even angry, he is sincerely telling me this.

Why?

"What do you mean?" I ask.

"I mean that you and your best friend shouldn't be involved with us. It's dangerous."

"Involved? All I see is my friend fucking yours and that's it."

"I don't think that's it and you know it, I noticed it and I know you did too. You're not stupid."

"Then why are you telling me this? Can't you just tell your friend to stop fucking my friend and leave us alone?"

"Ryker is new, he won't understand it."

"And I will?"

"I know that you care about your friend enough to not want her to be involved in something dangerous, don't you?"

"Dangerous? Lucifer, what are you talking about?" I stop my walk wanting to fully hear his words and process them, but he doesn't respond. Instead, he stops his motorcycle and gets out of it. I follow him with my eyes as he grabs his extra helmet from the compartment of his motorcycle. He turns around to lock eyes with me and I keep my mouth shut, my body waits for him to finally talk. But he doesn't, he just hands me the black helmet and stares like it's obvious what he wants me to do.

No matter how many questions I ask, he isn't gonna talk.

"If you're not gonna answer me, I'm not getting on that motorcycle with you."

"Didn't coach Covaliov gave you a rule about not asking about what we do?"

I roll my eyes. "That just tells me you're not going to talk, so, goodbye Lucifer."

I turn to the side when his voice stops me.

"Ryker is stupid for making Ada and you involved with us."

"Here we go again."

"I can't talk about it, Lilith."

"Then why bring it up?!"

"All I can say is that it's dangerous and the game isn't just a game, there's this whole thing behind it and it's too big for you to understand!"

"Try me!"

"No!"

"Then fuck off! Leave me alone and go back to the party! That blonde is probably looking for you!" I yell before I can think my words, and as soon as I let them out, I notice some sort of resentment in my them.

"Then why don't you go back with Colin, huh? You two seem to hit if off pretty well! Flirting with each other all the fucking time!"

"And if we do so what? Why do you care?!"

"I don't!"

"Great, leave me the fuck alone! I can flirt with whoever I want! GO BACK TO THE BLONDE!"

"FUCK YOU!"

"FUCK YOU TOO!"

As soon as I turn around with speed, I hear him going back to his bike and quickly leaving me behind the second that he turns it on.

Fuck him.

My walk on the street is loud as angry breaths are coming out of my mouth. I hate him and I do it with my whole heart. I can't understand how so much hatred can a person make me feel, so much loudness can come out of my voice as I'm fighting someone. I've always been so careful of my words and how I treat people, always calculating everything and being the one in control. But with Lucifer, everything turns upside down and I can't control my words, my heart speeds up and the tension in my skin and muscles becomes the strongest feeling in my body. I hate that, and I hate him, with my whole entire body.

I don't want to see him, ever again.

As soon as I let another breath out, the sound of his motorcycle comes back to my ears. Alright, universe, good prank, now take it back. I roll my eyes and shake my head when I feel his presence by side, just like a minute ago.

Why doesn't he just leave? Does he have to be there to annoy me every second of the night?

Fighting every wish in my body to not look at him, my head swings to the left. He wants to say something, I can tell by the way he's looking at me. Unsure and clenching his jawline, biting something in. I know that he came back because he wants me to ride with him, for God knows why, but I'm not going to, my pride is even bigger than the pain on my feet for walking so much.

I hear a loud sigh come out of his mouth over his motorcycle, he's eating his pride by coming back and asking me for tenth time to get on the motorcycle.

He makes his way a couple of steps before me on the road, allowing me to see his head facing me. He tilts it to the side wanting to get my attention, but I don't take my eyes away from the street ahead of me. Even if a part of me wants to.

Another tired sigh is let out by him, like asking me to just listen to his words. Carefully. "Lilith, I can't let you go back by yourself. If I did and something bad happens to you..." my heart speeds for a moment, feeling the truth in his words "no matter how much I hate you, I wouldn't be able to forgive myself."
