CHAPTER NINETEEN.

"i need you more than i want to"

camila cabello — "shameless"

"It's a crime, Ada."

"Lilith—"

"This is outrageous."

"It's only—"

"I'm starting to feel like I'm gonna vomit."

"You're not serious."

"Yes, I am. All my breakfast I coming up right now."

"You're so dramatic."

"I'm dramatic? You're the one who's doing this to me, let me freak out the way I want to."

"It's not my fault that I'm sick!"

"Letting me take this class alone?! I feel betrayed." My feet turn around, letting me see the big door to enter the building.

"It's only for today!"

"On a Monday morning!"

"I can't control my body and how it feels."

"Yes you can! Maybe if you didn't came to our dorm at 3 am in the mo— I'm sounding like my grandmother, see what you're doing to me?"

The big door opens when I push it. I immediately feel the coldness of the hallway hitting my skin as the other ten students follow the way to class, just like I'm doing.

"You're gonna be alright, Lili."

I long sigh comes out of my mouth. "Be honest with me..."

"Yes."

"Are you lying to me because you're staying in bed to give Ryker a booty call?"

"Lilith! No!"

"C'mon, missing my company because you're sick?! Make a better excuse, like you have a dick appointment!"

"My throat hurts and—"

"Yeah, I have a lot of things to say about that. There's definitely a reason why you came late last night—"

"No! I was just cold yesterday and it's probably that."

"Yeah, sure, I believe you and everything." Once I locate the familiar door to walk into class, I stop to rest my back on the wall just like my head almost immediately swings back closing my eyes. If I didn't have a phone against my ear right now it would totally look like I just fell asleep.

"I'm gonna get some more sleep," Ada continues "take notes for me."

"Ditching me for some dick and asking me for notes, the audacity!"

I can't help but smile when I hear a little laugh coming from my friend's mouth. "Bye, Lilith."

"Love you! Go get that dick!" I open my eyes to finally walk into class. When I find a couple of eyes on me because of my last words, I don't move from my place.

"Did you just gained like a ten set of eyes on you?"

"Yep."

"Get to class, Lili. Love you too."

There's no more than ten people inside the classroom. Half of them are staring at their phones with tired bags under their eyes, two of them look like the have the worst hangover of their lives and then the rest just rest on the chair waiting for this morning to end.

This is such a great vibe that we're having right now. A true party.

Turning my head to the side when I find a tiny projector waiting to get turned on, I smile to myself. It looks like not even the professor wants to be in this class today. Already knowing that we're not gonna have too much to hear from the professor, I make my way towards the end of the classroom, probably the video we're going to see it's gonna be on full volume since these old people don't know how to manage a simple project. Nobody complains, though, gives us the chance to eat something in class without having a lot of eyes on you.

Or at least that's why I don't complain.

Resting my back after laying my notebook on the tiny desk, I let my eyes close feeling the silence relaxing my body. Nobody's talking, not even moving, these morning really fucked every one in the ass.

"Rough night?" A familiar voice speaks by my side. Still not opening my eyes, I wave my hand shushing the person away.

"Shhh, silence... whoever you are."

"You really don't recognise my voice?" His joking tone. Of course I recognise it, the way that my veins boil just by hearing it already makes me want to push him away and keep my relaxation going.

"I said shhhhh stranger." I shush Lucifer again.

I hear a chuckle coming from him. "You're being louder than I am."

"Shhhh." Hoping to finally get him to leave, I move my hand quicker than before. But then, the sound and the presence of someone sitting on the chair next by my side surrounds me. Fuck. "Do you have to sit next to me?" I ask, annoyed.

"Annoying you is gonna make my morning better, don't fight it."

I quickly open my eyes, I'm for sure not gonna give him the satisfaction of annoying me to make his day better. No way. "I'm not annoyed." I straighten my back resting on the chair, like I suddenly gained the energy I was lacking.

When I lock eyes with him, I find a grin on his face as one of his eyebrows is lifted. "You're not annoyed that I'm siting next to you?"

"Nope."

"What if I do..." he moves his knee to push mine "this?"

One.

Two.

Three times in a row.

I bite the inside of my cheek to not kill him right now.

"No." I reply, sounding unbothered.

"Really?"

"Yeah."

"What if I take your notebook?" With a quick movement, before I can even take my eyes to it and prevent it, he takes on his hand the notebook laying on my desk. Watching it fly towards his body, I let out a annoyed smile.

"What are we? Twelve? Is this your way of telling me you like me, Donovan? By annoying me?" He knows I'm turning the game around, and by the way he stays quiet, I know he doesn't know how to turn it back around.  "Do I finally win the game?" I can't help but ask to see him finally lose this round.

"You wish." He drops my notebook where it was before.

I smile at him, enjoying my win. "That's what I thought." Resting like I was a minute ago, my head flies back hitting the wall behind me. My eyes go shut as a long breath comes out of my mouth. I'm not gonna let Lucifer and his annoying ass fuck up what I have going on right now, me and myself enjoying the silence of the classroom.

But then, when I hear how loud he is when he takes off something of his backpack, I let it be heard that I'm annoyed by letting out a long sigh. "You're not drawing me, are you?" I ask before I can even think about it.

A chuckle leaves his mouth. "I'm not that desperate now."

Opening my eyes to roll them, I find him looking my way with a side smile. "Very funny, I'm dying from laughter."

"Maybe not from laughter but you're definitely dying." Giving him a confused him, he leans closer to my face surrounding me with the gentle breathing coming out of his mouth. Staring down, he does a quick look to my lips which automatically leads to my head skipping a beat. He reminds me of the last time we spent the night together, kissing me like there was no tomorrow— "You look awful."

I hate him.

"Funny. That's not what you said the other night." I tease in a whisper, wanting to annoy him.

He tilts his head to the side, immediately lifting an eyebrow reacting to my words. "Oh, really? Is that how we're playing it?"

I innocently shake my head. "I don't know what you're talking about."

"You look like you got run over by a truck."

I roll my eyes. "I'm so turned on right now."

Lucifer leaning even closer to my face making me lock eyes with him, I stare at the smile slowly forming on his face. "I thought you liked me calling you a good girl instead of insulting you, Lilith." He whispers, deeply and slow, like he wants me to process every single word he just said.

Oh, he fucking didn't.

My heart starts racing as my mouth goes slightly opened at the surprise of his words. He seems to have loved my reaction, since he can't help but let out a chuckle still keeping the eye contact with my eyes, enjoying every second that I can't come up with any words to say.

Even though my tongue is numb, my body composes itself almost immediately, and my hand doesn't wait another second to slap the side of his upper arm.

"I thought you weren't into smacking—"

"Shut up!" I say in a loud whisper.

"It's not my fault you look like that! I just pointed it out which lead to me realising things... that you like."

"I don't!"

"So—," he smiles even bigger "you prefer good girl?"

I swear if this mother fucker doesn't shut up—

I smack the side of his arm again.

"I just want to know! It's my job to make you feel g—" Smack. "I'm a boxer, I can take it Avery. But you still look awful."

"It's a Monday morning, what do you expect? A princess dress and drag queen make up?"

He leans closer without erasing the smile from his face. "There she is."

I roll my eyes, pushing him away. "Fuck you."

Hearing another chuckle as I rest my head on the wall, it's soon followed by Lucifer taking another thing off his backpack. "I have something for you."

"Is it you dropping out and leaving me alone?"

"No—"

"Is it dead?"

He nods. "Yeah, it's a dead rabbit." His sarcasm makes me want to roll my eyes once again, and this time, I don't stare away from what he's doing, instead, my eyes go directly to his hands inside his backpack. "Why would I give you something dead?"

I gently shrug my shoulders. "I don't know, you having something for me is weird."

"It's not from me."

"I don't trust Colin or Griffin either." I add, with no hesitation.

Finally, as he quickly takes the mysterious thing off his backpack, he places it on top of my desk. The sound of a tupperware being laid down surrounds the room, and for the first time since I woke up this morning, I'm confused as ever.

It has to be poison. "My mom." He says like it's the most natural thing in the world.

"Your mom? What is it?"

Closing his backpack to rest on the back of the chair, he stares at me as he gently shrugs his shoulders, like the answer is the most obvious thing. "It's more lasagna, she made it for you."

"Did she really?" I ask surprised. I know it shows how I didn't see this coming on my eyes and face. My eyes turn to it to see the familiar lasagna laying inside of the tupperware. It's hot, so on the inside, I can see the smoke flying around. No strange mom has ever done something like this for me, not even Ada's.

Well, if you count giving me a lolly pop when I was hangover and I had to accompany Ada to a family dinner as something nice... then Lucifer's mom is the second.

"She's so sweet! How did you came out of her?" I tease to then see his eyes roll once again. "This just proves my theory further, you're definitely adopted."

"Or that my mom has been abducted by aliens and they brainwashed her, that's the only reason she would like you."

"Is the pretty boy getting jealous of his mommy liking me?"

"No—"

"You are!" I cut him. "Donovan, I'm better than you. There's no escaping it so get used to it. Sooner or later your whole family will like me better."

"Vienna will probably call you to plan a prank on me."

That sounds like the perfect evening plan, to be honest.

"Immediately give her my number. Like, now."

"So you two can plan my murder? No, thank you."

"I wasn't even considering murder!" I smile excited. This, causes Lucifer to stare surprised at my own words. I've told him multiple times that I know how to hide a body without getting caught... I'm a criminal justice major! My excitement for murder crimes shouldn't be a surprise for him. "That's so much better than a stupid prank."

He crosses his arms on his chest as he slowly shakes his head. "I'm never letting you two hang out alone."

"Bold of you to assume we're gonna tell you about us hanging out."

"You and her is a disaster waiting to happen."

I can't help but let out tiny smile. "When is that a bad idea?"

Before Lucifer is able to reply at my comment, while he lets out a grin and shakes his head, the professor walking inside the room gets my attention. He quickly heads to the projector throwing his suitcase on the side of his desk, making a loud thud in the process. "Good morning, everybody." The sound of the screen tuning on hit my ears soon followed by the lights being turned off, allowing everyone to only see the green light flying out of the little machine.

"You haven't reply to me, Avery." The whisper of Lucifer covers whatever the professor continues to talk about.

"Reply to you about what?" I ask in the same tone as he does but unbothered, without giving him my sight.

"What do you prefer?" The breath coming out of his mouth softly touches my skin, allowing my heart to race quicker than it normally does. "Me calling you a good girl? Is that it?"

"Shut up."

"Not until you answer." He leans closer to the side of my face. "Does the bad girl Lilith Avery prefer to be called good girl?" I know he's smiling right now. "Who would've thought?"

"Lucifer—"

"Answer me." He touches my cheek with the edge of his lips, brushing me with the soft and warm air coming out of his mouth. "What else would you like me to call you?"

Is he seriously having a sex talk with me right now? In the middle of class?

"How do you start playing the video?" I hear the professor asking leading to the sound of a student getting up to help him surrounding the room.

Slightly jumping from the sudden noise of the video and the big screen showing up in front of the class, my hand immediately flies towards Lucifer's chest to push him away from my face. A chuckle leaving his mouth gets my attention, my head turns to the side finding a smile on his lips, enjoying what he just did.

I'm glad that the sound of the video is louder than anything else, otherwise the whole class would've heard his chuckle and turn around to see what's happening, finding him and I close to the other... something I don't want anyone to see.

"Having fun?" I ask knowing that he's the only one that's gonna be able to hear it. Lucifer nods and without giving me a chance to prevent it, with a quick movement, he leans closer to my face leaving a wet kiss on my cheek. Disgusted by it and his annoying self, pushing him far away from my face with my hand, I lift my leg up and rest my foot on the chair, leaving my knee to do the job of a barrier between us.

I hear a another chuckle coming from Lucifer's mouth.

He's having fun and I don't like it.

Not wanting to give him any more of my attention, I turn my head to the big screen showing me a tall man being interrogated. I try to place my entire focus on him and his words, everything that I can turn into a note or an observation... when I look down to my notebook, it's no longer there.

I'm gonna kill him.

"Lucifer—" I whisper once I turn to lock eyes with him, but I find nothing else than his side profile staring at the video.

"Mhm?"

"Give me my notebook."

"I don't know what you're talking about."

"Yes, you do. You took it again."

"No, I didn't. You're mistaking me for someone else, stranger."

"Lucifer—"

"I don't know who you are, stay away from me you crazy lady."

"I need to take notes, give it back."

Leaving the screen in front of him, he stares at my eyes to then let out tiny grin. "So you are a good girl after all."

I do the same, lifting my eyebrows. "Wasn't I a stranger, Donovan?"

He leans towards my face not caring about the video anymore, and to be honest, I'm not either. "After what we did the other night, and multiple nights before that, I don't think I could ever be a stranger to you... ever again." Doing a quick look to my lips as he makes the grin bigger, I can't help but lead my eyes to his. Soon later, without taking away the eye contact, I suddenly feel the notebook touching my leg that's up in the chair. "Finish your notes, Avery, I don't want the good girl falling behind." And just like that, the grin becomes a smile.

Asshole.

Rolling my eyes, I grab my notebook to leave it on top of my desk. His presence is annoying me even more than before, so, with the intention to remove my foot from the chair and bring my leg down, my back leaves the wall. Before I can do another movement, Lucifer's elbow resting on my knee suddenly stops me. I don't wait another second, my hand is already flying towards it to push it away.

"Does that annoy you?" He asks once I turn my head away from him, not wanting him to see the annoyance in my eyes.

"No—"

"I think it does." He does it again. And just like before, I push it away. "If it doesn't annoy you, why take it off your knee?"

"I don't want you touching me, Lucifer."

"You don't?" I hear a chuckle coming out of his mouth, soon followed by his breathing brushing against my cheek. "In your words... that's not what you said the other night."

"Fine!" I brusquely turn my head to lock eyes with him, finding, not too much for my surprise, a proud and cheeky smile on his face. "Put it there!" Grabbing his elbow to place it on my knee, another chuckle leaves his mouth as he wets his lips taking his tongue over them. "I don't care! Now, shut the fuck up!"

"I just love annoying you, Avery."

"You suck." As soon as I say those words, the memory of the night at his apartment comes immediately to my head.

He better not say anything— "Yeah, I know." He replies. "You did say the other night."

I don't want to put my attention on him anymore, the video and the man talking is everything I should be paying attention to. So, without giving him a single word, as a long breath comes out of my mouth I try my hardest to understand what's going on in front of me. Since I've missed the beginning, there's a slight chance it's gonna take a while to do that.

"Lilith."

No.

"Lilith."

Stop.

"Hey."

Ignore him.

"Are you ignoring me?"

Yes.

"You and I both know you can't ignore me for a long time."

Watch me.

"Lilith."

He doesn't give up!

"What do you want?!" I'm glad my loud whisper is covered by the man talking over it, only allowing Lucifer to hear it. As soon as I turn to the side to see his face, I regret it, the side smile on his lips immediately takes my eyes to them.

"You."

I roll my eyes ignoring his words, but the fact that my heart started to race a little bit faster, there's no point, I'm never gonna be able to put my whole focus on the video in front of me.

Ada is gonna hate me for not taking notes.

Suddenly, Lucifer's elbow isn't the only thing my skin can feel. For my surprise, when the palm of his hand touches the lower part of my leg still on top of the chair to caress it, I try my hardest to not lead my eyes towards it.

Give nothing to him, that's my plan for now.

His thumb gently brushes side to side on top of my jean. It doesn't last long there, his elbow replaced by his hand to continue caressing me immediately takes a short breath out of my mouth. I don't know what he's doing or why, but all I know is that there's no way I'm giving him the satisfaction of seeing the affect it has on me.

Ignoring my heart skipping a beat when he starts to slowly go down my thigh, I look down to the professor staring up to the video. Maybe seeing him and his concentration is gonna help me get there, but there's no case, when Lucifer arrives right at the beginning of my thigh, right in my waist, and places one finger inside of my jean, my head can't think of something else.

"We're in the middle of class, Lucifer." I say in a whisper without staring at him. If I do, I just know it's game over for me.

"Tell me you don't want me and I take my hand off of you immediately." Once again, the breathing gently brushing my skin races the air coming in and out of my nose. His whisper sends a slight shiver down my back as the sound of the video keeps playing.

I don't want Lucifer knowing that I want him, it's gonna let him win. Me, under the spell of his touch, his hand touching my skin and how his words affect me... it's been game over for me a whole minute ago.

I turn to lock eyes with him expecting for the words to come out of my mouth, how I don't want him and smile proudly at my win taking over the situation, but instead, my tongue stays still giving up to the desire my body wants of him.

Hearing how the tall man in the video speaks again my head turns to it even if my mind isn't caring about him at all, just Lucifer.

That's it.

How his finger inside of my jean caresses my skin when I don't say anything after his words, his thumb doing circles around and his lips now leaning closer to my shoulder. Leaving a slow kiss on my skin, he then proceeds to rest back on the wall, without stopping with his hand on my body.

I take a breath in processing what's happening while my insides are trying to do the same. Lucifer is ready to place his hand inside of my jeans without hesitating... in the middle of class. Taking out how strange this is for me, I have to admit, I'm liking it. My body likes it. The ides of having Lucifer with the need to pleasure me like his life depended on it, annoying me a second ago to then this— like a week had passed since we insulted each other. Like a completely different scene, but no, we're here needing each other a minute after we talked about how much we think the other sucks.

Strange, isn't it?

Without giving me a warning, with his fingers, he undoes my jeans and places two fingers inside of it, touching my underwear in the process. Stealing another breath out of me, I have to close my eyes for a second to prevent myself from doing anything that would alarm anyone in the room. Thankfully, the professor knows shit about technology, like I said, and the volume is at the fullest giving some people the opportunity to even snore while it's playing.

My breathing speeds but I try to keep my mouth closed. Slowly, like he's enjoying my body reacting to his touch or even waiting for me to rush him, wanting to see my desire of him, he leads his fingers down to the left side of my underwear to pull it aside.

"Fuck." I can't help but mouth out silently.

"Careful." He whispers against my ear. "You don't want anyone seeing you like this with the guy you claim to hate, Avery."

My heart speeds. The sweat now dripping from the side of my forehead makes my fingertips rush to it swiping it away. He doesn't wait another second, with the tip of his middle finger he leans his body a bit closer towards mine to have the perfect reach. Teasing my folds, he suddenly stops brushing his breath against my cheek once again. "I need you to tell you want me, Avery."

As I keep my mouth shut, taking his hand off my underwear he leads his hand to the side of my arm gently caressing it up and down with his fingertips. "Say it." Just like before, I don't reply. My body wants him, there's not doubt in that, but my tongue just like I know it does, it doesn't want to give him the satisfaction.

My tongue and it's proud fucking self.

"Do you want me to stop?" He asks me as his fingers don't stop caressing my skin.

No.

Then say it to him.

No.

Then you suck.

Leaving my arm, he leads his hand towards the side of my neck to proceed his caressing there, where I can't help but let a long breath out liking his touch there. Slowly tracing to the back of it, he places his thumb on the other side where he's now gently grabbing. I bite the inside of my cheek when he does a little squeeze... oh, fuck— he knows how to get a girl in the mood.

Closing my eyes enjoying the relaxation of his fingertips playing around my neck, I slightly lean to the side to give him more space. He immediately takes the opportunity and wraps his hand around it, which automatically leads me to bite my lower lip to prevent any type of noise that would fight to come out of my mouth.

"Yeah," he whispers leaning closer to my shoulder "I know you like my hand there." Leaving a gentle kiss on my shoulder as my heart skips a beat at of his words, I have to bite my lip even harder when the kiss he's giving me travels up to my neck. I want him to stay there until the class is over, his thick and warm lips give a lovely sensation to my body that I don't think I've ever had anything like it.

Lucifer's tongue joining in to the kiss wetting my neck, my eyes go brusquely open to remind myself that there's ten more people in the room. No noise can come out of me. So, preventing this even further, I press my lips together with strength. Not even a single space left for a sound to escape.

When I stop feeling Lucifer against me, making my body missing his softness immediately, my eyes go directly to him finding a grin on his lips as his back rests on the wall. "Need something?" He asks like he already knows the answer.

What a cocky bitch.

"Because if you do," he leans closer to my face almost touching his lips with mine "just let me know. I'm here to give you anything you want, love."

I unconsciously bite my lower lip once again. Before I can catch myself and go back to normal, the way that his eyes go down to them makes me want to do it again for him to keep his eyes there. His breathing speeds as his eyes won't meet mine. Can't help but smiling, without even thinking about it my hand flies towards his knee to give it a little squeeze. Still, his eyes don't leave my lips. I wet them to tease him, and one more time, I bite my lower lip to then watch his eyes suddenly shine getting filled with lust.

It's so much nicer to have him like this.

"Do you need something?" I tease.

Finally, he leaves my lips to meet my eyes. Lifting an eyebrow, he makes a grin appear on his face to then gently and slowly shake his head. "You better stop playing with your lips like that, because I don't care we're in the middle of class, I'm gonna kiss the shit out of you."

Doing the same with the grin and leaning closer to end right on the edge of his lips, I can see how his breathing speeds once again. "And then fuck me against the professor's desk?"

He smiles. "If you think I'm gonna fuck you just against the professor's desk you're very mistaken."

"Where else?"

"Wherever you want me to." I don't reply just yet. I can see in his eyes how his mind is slowly picturing it, us having sex everywhere in this classroom. They shine just a bit where I don't know if it's the video still playing or the lust inside of him affecting his entire body. Either way, there's no hiding the fact that he's thinking about it.

And that, brings a point to my game.

"Where do you want me first, Avery?" I stare at his eyes, as he does the same, they go directly to my lips to then let out a long breath out, impatiently waiting for my answer. I want to reply, but I hold it in, seeing him get weak under the silence of my mouth brings joy to my chest. "Do you need me to kiss the shit out of you so you know the answer to that?"

Yes.

No, shut up.

"Or is your mind already having a place in mind?"

"Maybe."

"Tell me."

"No."

He lifts an eyebrow. "No?"

"No." I repeat to tease him.

"Maybe if I get..." he leans towards my lips brushing the edge of them with his "closer, you'll spill it."

The air coming in and out of my nose speeds up. "I don't fall that quickly." I try to keep it together, but boy, my lips are screaming at him to end the space between us.

"Are you sure about that, Avery?" He asks as a grin appears on his lips. "Because as far as I can see, you need to kiss me so fucking bad."

"And you don't?"

"Mhm, I don't hide it. But I need you to tell me that you want me—"

"What if I don't?"

"Then I'll step away."

"Can you?"

He smiles at me, doing a quick look to my lips. "It's gonna be one of the hardest things I've ever had to do."

My lips turn into a grin, my mind is already processing an answer. Before I can, the sound of the video ending and the lights suddenly turning on from the room immediately makes me turn away from Lucifer and lead my eyes to the professor who's now started clapping. Everyone joins him and I do the same. Hearing Lucifer slowly clap, I can't help but turn my eyes towards him to see the grin still on his face as he's staring to the front of the class.

I'm noticing now that my heart was speeding from having him so close, it's now going back to normal, but it still doesn't cure my chest moving up and down quicker than usual.

As the claps slowly fade away, I hear the sound of a phone vibrating close to me.

It's Lucifer's.

Discreetly turning my head to see him, I find his eyebrows furrowed as he's reading something on the screen. Confused and suddenly a bit worried, Lucifer blocks his phone making me turn back to the professor.

What was the message about?

The professor heads back to his desk to then grab his suitcase, heading out to the door. "I hope you all took notes, I am going to test this on the next exam."

Fuck.

Ada is definitely gonna kill me, murder me on cold blood.

Time to ask for a classmate's notes.

For the way that everyone's looking around, either frustrated or annoyed, it takes me to believe that nobody took notes of the video. We're all screwed.

I turn to the side to see if Lucifer is slightly concerned about the notes just like everyone else. When I do, I find nothing but an empty seat by my side. He left so suddenly and quick that I didn't even hear him leave the classroom.

Huh—?

Does the text he received the reason he left so suddenly?

I have no clue, even if there's no doubt that whatever he read, affected him in a way that made him forget to even annoy me at the end of class. Not even a goodbye, idiot.

Nothing.

>>>

16 pm hits the clock... a new day that I have to go into work and clean dirty towels from boys that train all fucking day, punching a bag like their life depended on it.

Wonderful, isn't it?

I wouldn't like to spend my Monday anywhere else.

The moment I step out of the bus and I see the old and abandoned looking building that I work at five days a week, I can't help but let out a long sigh. It's not like I'm not grateful of my job, the opposite, I'm glad I have something that allows me to afford the expensive books every professor wants, like college isn't already taking all the money I don't have. Lovely. But, hey, taking a nap wouldn't hurt me!

It could be worst, right?

The door is now in front of me ready for me to push it and go inside, but when a blonde haired girl stops me from moving any step forward, my tired eyes take a couple of seconds to recognise her. Ruby.

"What are you doing here?" She asks annoyed, blocking my entrance to the building.

"I work here." I reply like it's nothing, confused on why she's here.

Shaking her head, she crosses her arms around her chest. "No, you don't." She adds not like a question but more like a fact, trying to convincer herself of a lie.

I try my hardest to not roll my eyes.

"You're right I don't, I just come here just because when I could be taking a nap or just studying... or eating a cereal..." I can feel my mind slipping away imagining myself having a bowl of my favorite snack... it happens more often that I would like to admit. "I could really use a bowl of cereal right now—"

"Then leave and go get it." Ruby interrupts my thought.

I can't help but let out a smile. "Nice trick, I'm gonna give you that." Once again, I try to step inside of the building and finally get to work, but moving to where my feet are heading, Ruby prevents me from getting inside like she doesn't want me to.

"Where are you going?" She asks like she's my mother and I'm heading out the door at 3 am in the morning with nothing but a short and tight red dress.

"To work." I say, obvious. The hell is she playing at? Is it something inside that she doesn't want me to see? Or does she want to accuse me of something? She's reminding me of when I was trying to sneak out in high school and the principal's secretary held me at the door for five minutes interrogating me. Maybe if I annoy her like I did then she's gonna let it go, whatever she's trying to do. "Hey listen, I really appreciate you trying to save me from having to clean those dirty towels, but I need the money, so I have to."

Ruby rolls her eyes. "I'm not trying to save you from anything."

"Then, are you gonna pay for my books?"

"No."

"My classes?"

"No."

I let out a tiny chuckle to then take a step closer to her. "Then, baby, you better fucking move because those things aren't gonna get payed alone."

I take another step inside. Like it's her life's purpose, Ruby stops me again.

She's starting to get into my nerves. Where's Ada when I need her to calm me down?

"Why did Lucifer came late to training today?"

"The hell would I know!"

"Was he with you?" She asks as if the words coming out of her mouth disgusted her.

I shake my head. "Rather clean dirty towels."

"He never comes late!"

"And you think I have to do anything with it because...?"

Ruby lifts an eyebrow looking me up and down, I guess she's liking my jeans once again. "You're a bad influence."

I smile. "Aw, thank you! That's the best compliment you have ever given me."

"That's not a compliment."

This girl does not know the meaning of sarcasm.

"Look, I know you have a crush on Lucifer and all—"

"I don't."

Yeah, believable lie.

"Sure... but, there's no reason for you to hate me and I really have to get to work."

Ruby stops my walk just like two times before. I swear— Ada? Where are you? "Stop hanging out with him."

"I would love to stay here and watch you trying to intimidate me more, but the towels aren't gonna get clean if I don't go in—"

"I'm serious, Lilith."

"So am I. I wish the towels would clean themselves up, that would be amazing wouldn't it?"

She rolls her eyes, annoyed. Bingo. "Stop it."

I shrug my shoulders and make my way beside her quicker than she can say the word stop. "Alright."

"Wait—"

"You told me to stop so I'm doing that and walking away! Win for the both of us!" Before she can even let out word and be heard by me, I close the door letting the smell of an used gym hit my nose.

Even if I never take what Ruby says seriously, I can't help but get stuck on her words. Lucifer came to training late. Does the text have to do anything with it? Because just like Ruby said, coming here late isn't like him, it has to be something that's a good enough reason. And for Covaliov to understand, not scream at him for being late afterwards, he has to know too.

Family problem?

He wouldn't be training right now if it was somewhat of a big problem. And for the way that he reacted to the text, it wasn't that serious. Something really bad happening. So... boxing issue? Like, Damian and the hundred of problems he has with him and his team? Could be. There's still so much that I don't know behind all of it that I beat myself for thinking about when there's rule that doesn't allow me to.

The talk with Covaliov, the almost fight with Damian, the story that happened years ago that he and Covaliov swore to never tell anyone about it... it's all a puzzle without an answer and it kills me every time I think about it.

It's non of my business.

I shouldn't be giving it a thought.

Not a single one.

"You look concentrated." The sound of Lucifer's voice takes me down to reality and realise that my feet walked all the way to the bathroom, with my backpack still hanging from one of my shoulders.

I have to take a couple of seconds to regain my thoughts and put my attention to Lucifer, who's staring at me with a smile with noting but a boxing short on. "I do?" I let out without even thinking about it.

He nods as he places a white shirt on. "You look like you're about to solve a math problem."

"Yeah, well," I leave my backpack on the floor "apparently I'm a bad influence, those kinds of people don't solve math problems on thin air." Before I can even realise what I've said, Lucifer lifts an eyebrow and stares at me confused like I just told him the most confusing mathematic problem.

"I'm gonna need you to back track a little bit and explain me your train of thought."

"I just talked to Ruby— or better said, she just talked to me."

I hear a little chuckle coming from Lucifer. "Is she still alive?"

"Barely." He chuckles again sending tingles down to my stomach. Not you again. "She told me that I'm a bad influence."

He nods, placing his hands on his waist. "I mean, you are."

"I know."

"But why did she say that?"

"She blames me for you being late."

My whole attention flies towards the way he frowns his eyebrows. Like I expected, he's as confused as I was of the accusation, but on top of that, the  concerned look he has one surprises me, like him being late was something so secretive that no one was supposed to know. The corner of his lower lip slightly lifts up as he bites the inside of it, holding in words or even thinking about something that has been holding his entire brain lately. His eyes leave mine not holding the eye contact anymore, maybe afraid that I'm gonna be able to see what's going on inside of his head. "Why would she do that?" He finally asks.

I slightly shrug my shoulders, like I wasn't just deducing what every angle of his face could tell me. "She thought you were with me."

Changing his expression completely like someone clicked a button inside of him, he lets out a grin and relaxes his eyebrows. Oh, a stupid comment it's about to come. I just know it. "If you were with me before training, I wouldn't even be here."

Now I'm the one confused. "Because I would've killed you?" I joke.

He grins even bigger, taking a couple of steps closer to me. "Because we would be in the bedroom, love."

There it is.

"I prefer the you being dead option. And me going out for a beer afterwards, proud of finally accomplishing my most deep desire."

"There's no way you're killing me without me being able to at least hurt you."

"Maybe a little bit while you struggle, but that's it."

"I—" I lift my finger to shush him.

"No, that's how much I'm allowing."

He nods giving me a grin. "Yes, ma'am."

And he keeps going with the stupid comments.

"Don't call me ma'am."

"Fine," He rolls his eyes before turning around and heading to the sinks "good girl, whatever." I can hear him letting out. And I just know he's smiling right now.

"I am gonna murder you."

He locks eyes with me without stopping his walk. "I'll be waiting."

"I'll do it when you least expect it, so sleep with one eye open, Donovan."

Smiling even bigger he heads towards me until he's close, almost touching our bodies together. "You're so cute thinking that you can actually hurt me."

Cute?!

"Don't call me cute. Besides, I could easily do it. Just because you're a boxer doesn't mean I won't be able to." I lift my chin up a slight more to make him hear my words coming out softer: "Everyone has a weakness."

He leans closer shaking his head, smiling as he almost brushes his lips with mine. "I don't."

"I'll find one."

"Good luck."

Ugh.

I lean back away from him rolling my eyes. "You're so annoying."

"Thank you," he says proudly. Fuck! "I take pride in my ability to annoy you."

"Asshole."

"Idiot."

"Are you two done insulting each other?" The voice of coach Covaliov leads Lucifer to take a step back away from me as we both stare at him standing in front of the door. "Donovan. Ring. Now. We lost an hour and we can't risk that. Hurry."

Lucifer immediately nods. "Yes, coach."

Giving me a last look, Covaliov steps away from the bathroom leaving Lucifer and I alone once again.

Thank you, Lucifer, for annoying me leading me to step away from you. Otherwise, I don't think starting this week of work hearing Covaliov's deep and loud screams after finding us that close to each other would have been that great.

When my eyes go back to Lucifer, I don't find him in front of me. Instead, he's back at the sinks cleaning his face and wetting some of the hairs falling on the side of his head.

Covaliov definitely knows about the reason he was late. And maybe he was the reason. I know that him and Lucifer know a lot of stuff most of the team don't, or at least not the full story. Something behind their backs that's been dragging them for a long time.

What could it be? If they're both involved, my best guess is that Damian's team is also involved. I mean, the night I saw the coach of his team I didn't get the best feeling. Surely not the best person that there was in that room. Maybe Ada placed a little bit of her good gut feeling on me, but there's not doubt that Damian's coach intentions aren't the same as Covaliov.

No matter how much I try, I can't seem to remember Lucifer's conversation with his coach weeks ago. Maybe if I do, I'm gonna be able to put more pieces together. But as far as I know... well, not a lot.

Damian and his coach equals... bad.

Yeah, that's it.

Three and a half years of criminal justice have to help me here, c'mon.

"Why were you late, though?" My words come out of my mouth before I can even realise it. Gaining Lucifer's attention on me, an immediate grin appears on his face as he stares at me in the mirror.

"Why the interest?" I don't reply, I don't know what to. "Just being noisy?"

"Maybe."

Turning around leaving the mirror to stare at my eyes, he lets his waist rest on the wall next to it as he crosses his arms on his chest and gives me a grin. "I thought this was no strings attached."

"It is."

Leaving the wall, he's quickly in front of me leaning so his nose brushes against mine. I can feel the breathing coming out of it hitting my skin, my heart uncontrollably speeding just like my eyes going directly to his lips, finding an even bigger grin. "Then stop worrying about me."

I roll my eyes hiding the mess that is my head and chest right now. "I'm not worrying—"

"I think you are." He nods cutting me off.

But regaining my the full control of my body, I shake my head stepping away from his face. "No, I'm not." I say firmly for him to understand it better.

I gain nothing more than a chuckle coming from him. He leans back as well taking a step away from my face, making me impatiently wait for his words. "You look so adorable when you're lying." Leaving me processing those words, he turns around as I can hear a laugh from him.

"Lucifer—!" I call him annoyed. I hate when he leaves before I can even let out a word and reply to him.

Fuck! I fucking hate him!

He's so... ugh!

Shit.

Now I'm in a bad mood. That and a Monday morning aren't a good combination.

Letting out a big sigh to calm down I grab my backpack and leave it on the side to start with my job. Kneeling down to pick all the towels left in the bathroom, I make my way towards the hallway outside of the bathroom where the washing machine is. Dropping it all inside, I click all the bottoms like it's automatic in my head and I don't even have to think about it for my body to move.

I can hear all the boxing bags getting punched. I know that if I make my way towards the main room and my eyes Lucifer there, I'm gonna make myself even more annoyed than I already am.

I still wonder what is it about him that gets me this way, he has such a big mouth and has always something back to say. He adores getting on my nerves as much as I do. I never let anyone get to me. I'm known for being always a step ahead and the control that I'm able to get in every situation. But with Lucifer, I can't. I don't know how to. Not matter how much I try, he has a comment behind him.

Who else do I know that's like him?

"Thinking about me?" Colin's words bring me down to reality.

Do I really zone out this much?

"You're not that lucky." The joke comes out of my body without going though my head. I hear a laugh coming from Colin, who's now standing by my side as I open the drier and take all the towels I left last Friday.

"Then who are you thinking about?"

"Not a who," I lie "a what. Food. Good enough for me to zone out."

Colin doesn't reply immediately. When I already have enough towels that my hands can hold, I look up finding a grin on Colin's face, as his arms are crossed on his chest like he just uncovered a secret of mine.

"So that's what we're calling Lucifer now?"

"What?" I reply confused on his train of thought.

"I am a lot of things, Lilith— but I'm not blind. I can definitely see that something is going on between you too."

"More than me wanting to kill him?" I let out jokingly just to defuse the tension Colin is throwing at me to take the words out of my mouth.

What does he want me to do? Scream my undying love for Lucifer?

"C'mon, you two would make a perfect couple!"

I roll my eyes. I've heard that one before. "Not you pulling an Ada."

He laughs. "A what?"

"The perfect couple doesn't exist. It's stupid."

He lifts an eyebrow. "Then you and Lucifer don't exist?"

He swallowed a clown I see.

"Ha ha, you're funny." My feet head out to the side of the hallway to start folding the towels I picked up. "I have a rule that doesn't allow me to be involved with any of you guys, so if I'm gonna break a rule the last person I'm going to do it is Lucifer." I sound so convincing letting out those words that I even convince myself.

"That makes it more sexy."

"Ew, no!"

"C'mon! Yes it does! Griffin agrees with me."

"Talking about Griffin," I change the subject "is there something going on between him and Paul?"

Colin nods, rolling his eyes. "Yeah, change the subject, Lilith, very smart.  But answering your question, I don't think so, why?"

I shrug my shoulders. "I don't know, they seem like they're into each other."

I fold the last towel and then walk away towards the main room, knowing that Covaliov is waiting to give me something to do like he always does. "Maybe. Wait—" Colin follows me "don't you believe that relationships are stupid?" He thinks he has me, but no fucking way.

"I wasn't talking about a relationship." The sound of the boxers punching the bags becomes stronger as well as the sweaty smell hitting my nose like a fast ball thrown at my face. At this point, I'm more used to it that I was ever been.

"Right." Colin stops just as I do when we arrive at the desk to turn on the computer. "And what were you talking about?"

For a guy that's probably had more girls in his room than any other guy in this room, he surely doesn't know to process my words when I talk about sex.

I let out a sigh, tired. "If they're fucking each other, Colin."

"Right! Well,—"

"Anderson!" Colin slightly jumps at the yell of Covaliov calling his name. He slowly turns, ready to be boss around by his coach. "Ring, now!"

"Yes, coach!"

I smile when he turns to look at me. "Duty calls."

He sighs tiredly taking his finger to his ear and starts rubbing it like it hurt. "I'm never going to get used to those screams."

"Donovan!" The loud yell of Covaliov shakes the walls again. I swear it's a surprise this building hasn't come apart yet. Hearing the sound of his last name, I can't help but follow the coach's eyes and see Lucifer standing by a boxing bag with a fast breathing on his chest. He looks a bit shiny from training, and just like times before, it doesn't make him look unattractive. Worst, he looks as sexy as ever. His reddish cheeks match the color of his thick lips, the tired look on his face match the way he moves with his body. Even if he also does it comfortably, knowing that he's the best there, I hate his cocky ass self. His arm... his stomach, I can't stop staring at them. The tattoos make it even more impossible. "Leave this on my desk." Covaliov lifting a brown envelope towards Lucifer lead my eyes away from him and turn to it as they leave Covaliov's hand into Lucifer's.

Noticing that he meant the desk that I'm standing in front of right now, my eyes immediately move to the computer not wanting him to know they were staring.

The smell of his cologne surrounds me as he arrives besides the desk. I pretend to be waiting for the computer to be fully on and start working, but I feel like an idiot just staring at the black screen with the white circle spinning. So, I remove my phone from my back pocket to see all the old messages from Ada telling me buy milk on the way home, focusing my mind on something.

As soon as I lift my phone up, the way that Lucifer's arm flexes as he closes the drawer make my eyes inevitably fly to them. I can follow the slow drop dripping from his body, his quick breathing as his hands take care of the key now locking the drawer.

Yeah, I know you like my hand in there.

I remember his whisper against my ear as my eyes can't seem to focus on something else, no matter how much I try. His hand touching and teasing my neck, sending shivers and tingles to my entire body...

"Are you alright? You now look like you're about to solve a murder—" Lucifer's voice breaks me down from my trance once again.

I really have to stop zooming out so much.

I can't respond to him since the feeling of my phone vibrating against my hands lead my eyes to the screen.

Damian...

I have to blink twice to see if what I'm seeing it's true.

Damian...

It can't be.

Why the hell is he calling me?

"Dude—" Lucifer calls me once again. And this time, it isn't a joke or even his tone for me to be annoyed, it's truly confusion of whatever he's seeing in my face. "Lilith?"

Before I can reply to him or even deny the call, Lucifer makes his way towards my side to see the screen still vibrating. I hear the whisper unbelievable coming from his mouth, as soon as he reads the name shining with the three dots.

"Why the fuck is Damian calling you?" He now sounds angry, but I still don't turn to see him or even have the intention to reply, I'm still working on the answer myself.

I clearly don't want to talk to him, there's no way I'm gonna talk to the guy that thinks he can talk to me the way that he did at the party. Who does he think he is? Nobody. And he doesn't deserve to talk to me. End of discussion.

Decline.

"Care to explain why Damian is calling you?" I finally place my attention in Lucifer. I just declined one boy that was trying to talk to me because he was a douchebag, what makes Lucifer think that I'm gonna let him do it?

Lifting an eyebrow I lock eyes with him, who's still waiting for my answer. "What are you, my father?"

Hearing the sound of the washing machine being done, I don't wait for Lucifer to say anything back and lead my way towards it to keep doing what I'm supposed to do, not caring about anything that just happened.

"Lilith!" I hear Lucifer calling my name behind my back.

Apparently, he does care.

"I don't have to explain shit to you." I reply as I walk inside of the hallway to stop the ongoing alarm of the machine.

"Have you been hanging out with him?"

"Over my dead body." I can feel the angry presence of Lucifer behind me, how he's walking quickly, almost brushing his chest with my back annoying me even worst. Like a scratchy angle I can't reach or can't get rid of no matter how much I try.

"Have you been talking to him over the phone?" What's he on about?

"No." I open the door of the washing machine to take every thing I just left inside moments ago to place them into the drier, maybe expecting to finally see Lucifer leaving me alone to let me do my job in peace. But as soon as I look up, he's right there killing me with his sight.

"Texting?" He asks not giving me a break.

I'm getting tired of him.

"Lucifer—"

"Do you know why he's calling you?"

My mood isn't getting better!

"I don't!" I finally snap. "Stop asking questions because I'm as confused as you are!" I drop every single towel inside of the drier and my fingers move like a fast memory, turning the timer.

"You know what I'm gonna say, Lilith."

"That he's dangerous and I shouldn't be hanging out with him, yeah, yeah. You're very predictable."

"I'm not joking."

"I know, you've said it a thousand times." The sound of the machine hit my ears so I finally lock eyes with Lucifer once again.

"I mean it." He now looks like my mom when she used to lecture me about something. But too bad for him, I can scream back.

"I know! The last time I saw him was that night at the party, that's it. No text, no phone call, not anything! He probably butt dial me so no need to be stupid and annoying, Lucifer." Ready to leave him and the conversation behind, I roll my eyes before heading back to the main hall and see what does Covaliov have for me today, since he hasn't given me the task of the day.

"Block him." Lucifer's voice stops my walk.

My body turns to him as I try to process what he just said. "Excuse me?"

"Block him." He repeats like it's the most obvious thing in the world.

"Are you for real?"

He better say no.

"Yes!"

Well—

"Why would I block him? It's just a stupid phone call! It was probably an accident!"

"And what if he calls you again?" He walks closer, almost leaning forward as he arrives in front of me ready to keep arguing. Like we always do.

"I'll block him then." I answer, now me like it's the most obvious thing in the world.

"Why not block him now?"

Good question, that would be the best option to forget about Damian, but there's 90% of my body who hates doing what Lucifer says. So now that he said that, it's off the table.

"Because I just don't want to." I admit.

"Are you waiting for him to ask you on a date or something?!"

I roll my eyes, he's seriously taking this thing so fucking serious! "Yes," I smile as fake as I can "my undying desire is to go out on a date with a boy that treated me like shit the last time I saw him. Yeah! Sign me up!"

"There's a reason you don't want to block him!"

"I just don't want to do what you say." My words come out before I can think them.

As a chuckle leaves his mouth, he steps closer. "That's so childish!"

I step back shrugging my shoulders. "Fuck off if you don't like it."

"You're so—!" The frustration in his voice shakes my brain even if I'm now far from him, I'm heading back to the main room. "Stubborn!!" He finally finishes.

"Welcome to the world of Lilith Avery," I hear him following me once again "knowing me may involve hearing a sarcastic comment, me annoying you and dealing with the most stubborn bitch you've ever known!"

"Yeah, you got that right!"

I brusquely turn towards him to snap on his face just like before. He's getting on my nerves that my heart starts to speed. My Monday can't get worst, can it?! "Why do you care, anyway? It's just a stupid boy!

"Damian isn't just a stupid boy!"

"And what is he? An idiot too? I wouldn't be surprised!"

"Just promise me you won't talk to him!"

I have to let out a laugh.

"Me promising you some shit? I thought this was no strings attached!?"

"No when it to comes to you being involve in—!" He suddenly stops like he realised he words that were about to come out of his mouth. Leaning away from my face, a long sigh comes out of him, he closes his eyes trying to calm himself down.... maybe not wanting to say something he may regret later.

"Involve in what?" I hurry him.

"It's just a whole mess." Lucifer shakes his head opening his eyes to meet mine, and this time, I don't see the same anger I saw before. Instead, they're more calmer... worried.

"Then explain it to me and maybe it's going to be a little bit less of a mess." I hurry him again, maybe I'll get some answers now.

"I can't."

"Then drop it and leave me alone." I turn around to walk again.

"Don't answer him."

"I will because I'm want to ask him out, he's such a lovely guy isn't it?"

"What?!"

"I'm joking! Know the meaning of sarcasm?!"

"You never take anything serious, do you?!"

He did not.

I'm surprised I didn't break a bone in my neck as I brusquely turned to face him, making him almost crash his body with mine. "You don't know shit about me, Lucifer. You don't get to come here and tell me what to do or even be a close inch inside of my business. Stop acting like some kind of protector or hero, I know what's good for me." He's shocked at my words, not expecting them. His eyes go a bit wide as he steps back, not giving me a word. "Got it?" I ask demanding an answer.

But before he can, the voice of Covaliov breaks our silence.

"Donovan! Ring!" The walls shake. "Avery! Desk!"

I don't give Lucifer anymore of my attention. He doesn't deserve it right now. So, as I listen to Covaliov getting closer to the desk, I leave the hallway behind before giving Lucifer a last look to enjoy his tongue not being able to say anything back to my words.

"I'm gonna need you to write all of these numbers and names in the computer." Covaliov says to me as soon as I walk into the main room, hearing the sound of the bags getting punched like always. He hands me this paper that's filled with words and numbers all around. "That's it. Understand?"

I nod. "Yes, coach."

Covaliov satisfied with my words nods like I just did, he looks down to his phone the moment it starts to vibrate on his hand. I want to start with this task since it looks like it's gonna take a while, but before I can head out to the computer by my side, a shoulder pushing mine makes me turn my head to where the body came from.

I'm not surprised.

Lucifer doesn't look at me, all I see is his back walking away towards the ring where Covaliov is now heading too. The way that I bite the inside of my cheek to prevent any big words coming out of my mouth, angry at what he just did, makes my skin hurt just a bit. I don't care, there's no way I'm giving any more of my energy to him.

The computer and finishing what coach told me to do is all I have to care about right now.

Thankfully, the computer is on and I don't have to waste time. My head can be confused on that.

I try to erase the sound of the punching out of my ears, maybe hearing it Monday through Friday it's gonna help me since I'm so used to it. But when I hear Donovan! my eyes can't help but head towards the sound.

"Punch it like you mean it, damn it!"

His head isn't where it's supposed to be. His hands seem weak as his feet don't move like I'm used to seeing them, he's getting more punched than giving and I'm sure my eyes have never experienced this.

"Donovan! C'mon!" Covaliov's yells don't seem to help him like usually, he's still doing everything wrong. His punches aren't strong, even worst, I don't think his other trainer is even struggling to keep up. "Lucifer! What are your feet doing?! Practicing ballet?!"

Lucifer stumbles leading him to step back and shake his head, like he's really trying to concentrate. "Stop! Stop! You're annoying me." Lucifer follows the words and breaths normally like he didn't even break a sweat. "Come here, you dumbass."

Covaliov is starting to sound like me.

"Is that how you're gonna defeat you're next opponent, huh?!" Covaliov grabs the side of his head to bring him closer. "Where's your head?! At the moon?!" Lucifer's eyes meet mine stealing a breath from my mouth and dropping my heart to my stomach. "You need to concentrate, boy. Do you want to give me a hundred a fifty?! Maybe staring at the floor will do you good." Covaliov shakes Lucifer's head for his eyes to leave mine. "What if that is Damian, Donovan?" Lucifer doesn't move, hearing very closely to the words being said to him. "You need to get your head in the ring because Damian isn't gonna give you a break like I do. Get your head right, boy, or you'll be in the floor before the first round. Understood?" Lucifer meets my eyes. The way that I see fire in them, like he's angrier than before. Covaliov shakes his head again. "Understood?!"

"Yes, coach."

"That's my boy. C'mon," he pushes him with strength but Lucifer barely steps back "go back at it and do it right!"

Giving me a last look, Lucifer steps back to then position himself starting his training once again. From the way that's he's preparing, I know something's different. Maybe Covaliov's words helped him after all.

As soon as I hear the whistle, Lucifer throws the first punch so fast that his trainer has to close his eyes and breath it out slowly to bring himself back again. He doesn't hold it, punch after punch, dodging after dodging, moving like he owns the place... Lucifer's back. And Covaliov loves it.

"Yes! That's it! That's my boy!"

"Why do you think Lucifer gets distracted?" Colin's voice makes my eyes go to him by my side while he stares at the ring with his arms crossed around his chest. I shake my head, why the hell would I know? Colin notices the confusion on my eyes when he turns his head to me, I see how he shrugs his shoulders and gives me a grin like he definitely knows the answer, but what's gonna come out of his mouth isn't it.

"Maybe he was thinking about food too."

I don't reply to him. Instead, realising that I have to do my job, I leave everything behind and stare at the computer to open all the tabs I need.

But Colin's words can't seem to leave my head...

Maybe he was.
