ᑕᕼᗩᑭTEᖇ TᗯEᑎTY

I was laying on my back, facing the white ceiling.

The pain was consuming my entire body, but inside, I felt numb.

Memories from last night came flooding back to my head and I found myself sobbing, covering my face with hands.

What the fuck have I done?

I fucking ruined her life!

I closed my eyes and focused on her beautiful face, distancing myself from the world.

Come here, little rebel, I called her.

I opened my eyes and there she was, crouching next to me.

Her snow-white hair was falling on my face and her blue eyes pierced through mine.

Her face was decorated with pureness and innocence, just as I remember her.

"Hey, Aquaboy," she greeted me as I covered my mouth, holding back the sob. "What is wrong?"

I pulled myself together, still laying on the floor. "I just miss you."

"Draven," she said, touching my cheek. Although I couldn't feel her, I remembered her soft and gentle touch.

And her mesmerizing smile.

"You have so much ahead of you," she whispered.

"I have nothing without you," I closed my eyes. "I am nothing without you."

As I opened them, a lonely tear escaped my eye when I saw that she wasn't here anymore.

I got up from the floor as sudden anger overwhelmed me.

My eyes were searching for something, anything, to destroy.

I grabbed the wooden chairs and threw every one of them across the pub. I broke all of the tables and the pictures on the walls with my bare hands.

"I DID THIS TO YOU!" I yelled and smashed the mirror behind the bar. "It's all my fault."

My body was shaking and my knuckles were covered in crimson blood, which was already dry. I screamed into the void as I slid on the floor with my back pressed against the wall.

Suddenly, the pub doors flew open and Omega came rushing towards me.

He crouched beside me, checking my injuries.

"Thank fuck you are okay," he finally said, concern reflecting in his brown eyes. "What happened?" he asked when he saw the mess I made.

I tried to suppress tears that were threatening to escape.

"They killed her," I whispered. "Fucking Sawyer and his angels killed my little rebel."

His eyes widened in shock and he opened his mouth, but nothing came out.

"Oh, brother," he finally said, hugging me.

"I can't live without her," I cried into his shoulder. "She is my everything."

"You won't give up, Draven," he said, helping me get on my feet. "I won't let you."

I felt like a total mess.

My little rebel.

Why would anyone do that to her?

She was the best person alive, who has been through so much and yet, managed to stay strong.

Why wasn't I more careful?

I could've stopped it all.

"What do you want me to do? I'm hopeless," I said, shrugging.

I reached behind the bar and pulled out a bottle of vodka, the only thing I didn't destroy.

I opened it and took a decent amount, feeling the burning sensation flowing down my throat.

"Mourn and heal," he said, looking at the bottle with disapproval. "Then we will hunt down that motherfucker and burn him alive."

I nodded, chugging the liquor again.

I wiped my mouth. "That sounds about right."

"But we will need help," he said, a smirk appearing on his face. "And I just happen to know who."

"It has been two weeks," I said in annoyance. "Where the fuck are they?"

Omega shot me a death glare, warning me to quit it. "Stop complaining like a fucking baby and suck it up like a man."

He turned back to face the dark forest, waiting for our company.

It was almost night, so I don't know how will we pull this out in the nighttime. We will get jumped by a bear or something.

"I wouldn't fucking complain if they were on time," I shot back, feeling the temptation to punch the living shit out of anything that messes with my temper.

Ever since Omega found me in that pub, I haven't exactly been the best company.

Except for the fact that not one day passed when he didn't have to snatch the bottle of alcohol from me, I have been pretty fucking depressed and annoying.

More than usual.

What the fuck do you want me to do when my fucking girlfriend died?

Oh, I'm sorry.

Was murdered.

"Would you shut up already? If you want to do this, you have to get your shit together."

"Oh, I'm sorry Mr. Perfect," I glared at him, although he didn't even look at me. "What would you do if Sanguina died, huh?"

He turned back to face me, his body about one meter away from mine.

Although he was older, I was taller, so he didn't look threatening.

"I know you are fucked up right now, okay?! I get it!" he said, a glimpse of sympathy reflecting in his eyes. "But if not for yourself, stay strong to avenge her."

I stayed quiet for a while, letting his words sink in.

And as much as I hated to admit it, he was right. I have to avenge her and when I do that, I can finally die in peace.

His eyes were studying me and waiting for my response. I nodded my head, looking down at the green grass.

"Good," he said, turning back to the forest once again.

Once we are over with this, I will have no reason to live.

"They are here," he said, his body tense.

How the fuck does he sense everybody?

What can't he do? Can he fly too?

Suddenly, four figures came out of the forest, looking at us. Three of them were girls.

I was surprised by their look since demons lose their tattoos and change their appearance when leaving Hell.

We are gifted with tattoos when we sin or do something bad. You should see our bodies down there.

Pretty intense if you aren't used to it.

The only way I could somehow recognize them is because two girls were holding hands and the guy was tall, taller than me.

Without hesitation, a tall girl with long black hair and freckled nose came running towards us, throwing herself into Omega's embrace.

That would be Sanguina.

They turned around in circles, kissing the fuck out of each other.

I looked at the two girls who slowly approached us, giggling about something.

One had shaved hair and was dressed ina black, latex suit. Her eyes were big and grey, looking more alive since the last time I saw her.

That is Salem Brith.

The other one had purple hair and loads of rings which I instantly knew was my little sister, Gehenna.

The guy had platinum, blonde hair with loads of chains around his neck. He looked like he could murder you just with his look.

That is Yama Isham, my not so dear friend. And he doesn't scare me but is just a pure joke instead. He always tried to get me in trouble with my parents.

Fucking ass kisser.

"Henna," I whispered and she looked at me, with tears in her purple eyes.

She hurried towards me and wrapped her arms around my waist.

I hugged her back as she rested her head on my chest. "Draven, I..." she started, her voice full of sadness. "I am so sorry."

We stood there, hugging each other for a while because this is the only comfort I felt in these two weeks.

"What is the plan?" Salem suddenly asked, breaking the silence.

We separated and Omega coughed, running his hand through his chocolate brown hair.

"We need to summon an angel," he said, looking at Salem.

She raised her dark eyebrows and crossed arms.

I exchanged looks with Sanguina, who flashed me a sympathetic smile. 'We will talk later,' she mouthed and I nodded.

Yama scoffed. "Are you fucking kidding me? We won't summon a fucking angel just because you feel like doing it," he said, glaring at me, but Salem raised her hand to shut him up, still looking at Omega.

"Which angel?" Salem simply asked, ignoring Yama's outburst.

I would lie if I didn't say she looked threatening.

She honestly scares the living shit out of me.

"Angel of Death," Omega announced, looking at her with the look that said 'please-don't-kill-me-we-need-your-help'.

She let out a bitter laugh and raised her hands in the air, turning her back on us.

Henna looked at me and ran towards her, whispering something in her ear.

"I won't summon him. He will kill all of us," Salem whispered back.

Fuck, she was never good at whispering.

"Listen to me!" I said with authority in my voice.

Everybody turned to me, eyes wide open.

"That motherfucker killed the only girl I ever loved, okay?!" I said, specifically looking at Salem. "They killed the Sybil and I will not let him get away with that!"

Salem finally looked shocked, something I haven't seen since we started hanging out as a group.

Henna took Salem's hand into hers and intertwined their fingers, giving her a reassuring grip.

Silence levitated in the air while we looked at each other.

I am not fucking around.

If they won't help me with the easier plan, I will do the harder one. And it doesn't end up good.

Salem sighed, tilting her head back.

"Fine, but we can't do it in this field, it's too open. We need to go deep into the forest," she said, already walking towards it.

I glared at Yama, a satisfied smirk spreading across my face.

We followed Salem without a word and I could feel the tension stretching in the air.

"How are you?" Sanguina came closer to me as we entered the dark woods. Her voice was low and full of sympathy.

"Is that supposed to be a joke or do you want me to have an emotional breakdown?" I couldn't stop myself from saying.

She sighed. "That is the attitude I didn't miss these past 800 years," she said, slightly annoyed.

"How have things been with Omega? Did he confess?" I asked, changing the subject.

I don't feel like talking about my fucking feelings.

Before I left Hell, San was deeply in love with Omega, but she never told him. More of that story later.

"Yeah, if you didn't notice already, we're a couple now."

"Good for you."

"So, what was she like? The Sybil?" she asked carefully, staring into my profile with anticipation.

I couldn't look at her because I know I would cry. So, I stared in front of myself while we walked deep into the forest.

The sky already turned purple, it was only a matter of time when it will get dark.

"She was the prettiest girl I had ever laid my eyes on. And she was so strong, life wasn't so easy on her. She loved me, although she knew who and what I am. There are not enough words to describe her."

Silence overcame once again and I knew I left her speechless.

Henna and Omega laughed about something behind us while Salem and Yama were far ahead of us, searching for the perfect spot.

"I bet we would be good friends," she finally said and I clenched my teeth, suppressing the tears from breaking the barrier I put up for weeks.

"You would be best friends. She was always alone and didn't let anyone in. You would show her that friendships aren't bad," I heard myself say.

What the fuck is wrong with me?

Since when am I an expert in this shit?

I cleared my throat, letting her know it was the end of our conversation.

"We found it!" Salem called and we all instantly hurried towards it.

The six of us were standing in a cleared up area, which was perfect because trees couldn't bother us.

After Henna and Salem exchanged a  couple of words and kisses, Salem closed her eyes and started levitating in the air.

Fucking hell.

I never saw anything like this.

She started whispering something, probably a summoning spell.

I don't know much about her power, because it's really rare, but if she says or does something wrong, it could cost her life.

And the place where demons go when they die is not good.

Suddenly, she fell to the ground, her eyes bleeding.

Henna ran towards her, but who she really needed was Yama. He embraced her body, letting his power of healing do its trick.

"What did he say?!" I heard myself yell, which made everyone turn their head towards me.

"Draven! She just collapsed!" Henna warned me, looking shocked by my reaction.

I crouched next to Salem and pushed Yama away, slapping her cheek. "WAKE UP! WHAT DID HE SAY?!" I yelled in desperation.

Omega tried to move me away using his telekinesis powers, but I was stronger. I gripped her body, shaking her.

"WHAT DID HE SAY?!"

Everybody was yelling at me, trying to pull me away from Salem's unconscious body, but I couldn't hear them.

All that was on my mind was Alya.

I closed my eyes and clenched teeth, trying to prevent myself from falling apart.

"He said... it was all your fault," Salem finally whispered and I backed away her words stabbing me in the chest.

I got up from the ground and stumbled away from them, tears streaming down my face.

After about ten meters, I finally collapsed on the ground again, feeling the energy leaving it.

Screams surrounded me as night drowned inside of me.

I was pure darkness now. She was the only one who made me feel.

"ALYA!!" I called her, feeling the pain leaving my body.

I looked around myself and saw something I never thought I will experience.

I was kneeling in the center of the fire circle.

I was releasing the fire.

This is the end.

Omega called after me and I knew what was going through his head.

He knew this would happen.

"I can't and won't live without her!" I screamed, pulling out a black, sleek blade, meant for killing demons.

I put it against my neck, tears streaming down my face. This is how she died, and this is how I will, too.

"DRAVEN!!!" I heard a familiar voice calling me, overpowering everyone else.

Alya?

"DON'T DO IT!! I'M ALIVE!!" she screamed, finally coming out of the shadows.

Her familiar white hair was falling down her shoulders and her blue eyes were begging me.

The fire around me was still protecting my body and I couldn't believe she is here.

"WHO IS FUCKING WITH MY HEAD?!" I screamed, closing my eyes.

She is dead.

I saw her die.

Alya is dead.

Suddenly, I felt a soft hand brushing against my cheek. My eyes shot wide open because no one could be so near me.

I looked up and saw her, standing in my fire circle, with tears glistening under the moon.

"I'm not dead, Draven," Alya whispered, crouching next to me. She slowly took the blade away from me, not separating her beautiful eyes from mine once.

"You are dead. I saw you die," I whispered, my voice hoarse.

She smiled, touching my face again.

I felt her.

"How is this possible?"

"Draven, Sawyer's powers made you see me dying. It wasn't real," she explained, her voice full of sadness. "I had a vision about you when I woke up in Heaven, where Sawyer took me. When I realized what you were going to do, my powers just became stronger and my guardian helped me get on Earth."

I looked behind her, completely confused, and saw a Phoenix, which was looking at us with caution.

"You're alive."
