"Hey, little rebel," a male voice whispered, gently stroking my cheek. I tried to open my eyes and identify the person standing above me, although only one person called me that. "It's adventure time."
I sat straight in my bed and rubbed my eyes. "What time is it?" I asked, my voice raspy from sleep.
"I just said it, it's adventure time," Draven replied, sitting on a wooden chair by my bed.
I glared at him. "I'm not joking, fuckwit. I really appreciate my sleep," I said, not in a mood for his humor.
"It's 2:13 in the morning," he said, glancing at my clock and back to me.
"Draven!" I groaned, laying back in bed on my stomach and burying my face in a pillow. "I want to sleep!" I whined.
"What if I said we are getting out of here?" although I didn't see him, I could easily hear he was mischievously smirking.
I snapped my head to meet his gaze, noticing the famous, sexy smirk displaying on his face.
Gee, stop Alya! You were both drunk and it probably meant nothing!
"How do you plan to do that exactly?" I asked him, getting up from the bed and brushing my hair.
"I have my ways," he simply said, now leaning against the desk.
I don't understand why did he always need to be so mysterious?! Would it hurt him to actually answer my questions and spare me from solving his riddles?
"You are a pain in my ass, do you know that?" I asked, although I already grabbed my stuff and was ready to leave.
"When we're at asses," he said, smirking. "Did you sit in sugar? Because you have a sweet ass."
I raised my eyebrows and covered my face with my hands. "Is that lame pick up line supposed to make me suck your dick or something?" I asked him, dressing while he was preoccupied with laughing.
I didn't want to change myself, so I just threw on his hoodie over my t-shirt and some sweatpants on top of my thighs. "Damn, I love your butt," he announced.
What the hell?
"Draven! Stop looking at my ass!" I yelled as he looked me in the eyes.
"I said that out loud?"
"Yes, yes you did."
"Well, if I already said it-"
"No!" I interrupted him, raising my arms to stop him from further talk. "Just tell me the plan."
"Can I do something else first?" he suddenly asked, a spark of lust and greed reflecting in his emerald eyes.
I couldn't help myself but feel nervous by his sudden heart change. "Yeah, go ahead," I said anyway, trying to ignore the butterflies in my stomach.
Without hesitation, he grabbed my waist and pulled me to his chest, not both of us leaning against my old desk. I felt his heart beating fast, while I thought mine is going explode purely from his touch as my breath became shallow.
He looked into my eyes for a while, almost as if he was admiring them before he roughly pressed his soft lips against mine with a sort of passion I have never experienced before.
Although I was taken back by his unexpected actions, I instantly drowned in his embrace, wrapping my arms around his neck. He let out a soft groan and I smiled against his lips.
You have no idea how sexy that sounded.
After a few minutes of the heated make-out session, I finally pulled away, but he immediately groaned in disagreement and pulled me even closer. Our faces were millimeters away from each other, so his fresh breath gently tickled my skin.
"What was that for?" I asked with a smile, completely and utterly consumed by him. How can you like someone this much even though you've met them less than a week ago? Is that even possible?
But there is something different about him that I can't explain. I've never met anyone who can make me smile and laugh as he can.
"You need to stop doing that," he mumbled into his chin, deep into thought.
I frowned at his statement. "What?"
"Doing things that make me want to kiss you," he replied, distantly looking at my lips.
"The last one," I whispered, leaning in. He pulled me up and I wrapped my legs around his waist. He sat me down on the desk and trailed soft kisses down my neck, eventually sucking on one spot.
"Time to go," he suddenly pulled away with a smirk, breathless and lustful. He turned his back on me, but I stopped him before he could get away.
"You still haven't told me the plan," I complained, taking his hand and pulling him back.
"Oh, you're just so curious," he smirked, resting his hands on both sides of the table.
"Don't push my buttons, Aquaboy," I playfully warned him, getting into his face. "I'm 99% angel, but oh, that one percent."
"What about it?" he smirked, playing along with me.
I shrugged nonchalantly. "You know what they say, angel face, yet devil thoughts."
He closed his eyes and groaned. "You have no idea how much that just turned me on," he complained.
"So, the plan?" I changed the subject, not wanting to hear the details of Draven's sexual thoughts and urges although I already hear them daily.
"I've set traps for security staff, so we'll just have to run," he explained, opening my doors. "Let's go."
I didn't question his shady words any further, but just followed his actions and hid behind his body.
Our rooms were on the first floor, from four floors in total, so all we had to do was climb down the stairs to the ground floor and escape through the doors. If the security staff is occupied as Draven said, this will be easy.
"Stay behind me," he whispered, protecting me with his body. "And do exactly what I say."
I nodded in response, feeling my chest rising in excitement as adrenaline coursed through my veins.
C'mon, Alya, you can do this. This is what being a teenager means. You have to risk it all to have fun and make memories.
He looked at me before gave me a small nod and he started running down the stairs as I quickly followed him.
We were out of the building in a second and we didn't get caught. A proud smile spread across my face as we inhaled the fresh air.
I was out of breath, which made me think I should probably start exercising. It's an embarrassment to run for two minutes and already be out of breath.
"How did you do that?" I asked him as we ran towards the city, referring to distracting the security staff.
"The master doesn't reveal his secrets," he simply replied, looking forwards as we slowed down and stopped running.
"Okay, at least tell me where are we going," I wanted to know.
He smirked. "Okay, if you want to know," he gave in. "I dare you to do something illegal," he said, knowing how I hate illegal things.
I opened my eyes in shock, trying to figure out what to say. "Um... I don't know."
"Aren't you my little rebel?" he asked, trying to convince me as he pouted. Did he just say I was his little rebel? Holy shit, this was new.
Well, if he wants to push my boundaries, I'll have to do the same with him.
"Okay," I simply said after a while of thinking. I have the perfect plan.
He raised his eyebrows in surprise. "Okay?" he asked.
I nodded, smiling from ear to ear. He doesn't even know what I have in store for him. Literally, in a store.
"We're going to that 24-hour supermarket that's in this area," I announced my idea proudly.
"And what for?" he questioned with suspicion.
"You said we're doing illegal shit and I just happen to think of one."
He sighed and nodded in defeat, interlocking our hands. "You're freezing cold," he said with concern.
I shook my head. "I'm fine, really," I withdrew my hand from him.
He looked at me with raised eyebrows and sighed. "You are impossible, Aly." Suddenly, he lifted me in a bridal style and started running as wind crashed against our bodies.
At first, I was shocked and surprised by his actions, not knowing what to do. I mean, he was carrying me whilst running like a leopard. Is that normal? Did anyone else experience this?
But soon enough, I adjusted to his recklessness because I realized this is just what I needed - a getaway.
I screamed on the top of my lungs and raised my hands in the air, feeling as if I was on top of the world. I heard him chuckle as he sped up.
Gee, what was he, a machine? How can anybody run that fast while carrying another body? Although, I did warm up, so I'll give him that.
His loud, heavy steps echoed through the deserted streets while poor street lights shined down on our dim silhouettes.
We were in the middle of nowhere, but with him, I felt safe. It was weird, but I just felt like nobody can hurt me when he held me near his heart.
"Here's the market. You can lead the way, little rebel," he whispered, finally putting me down on the ground. He walked past me as I felt the warmth leave my body.
I grabbed his wrist and pulled him back, preventing him from entering the market. "Wait," I stopped him.
"Oh, I like it when you boss me," he smirked.
Patience, Aly. Patience.
"Okay, so, I'll steal something," I explained my plan, unable to hold back my laugh. "But you'll have to kiss it."
He burst out laughing and I couldn't stop myself either. That sounded hilarious, but it will be so much funnier when it happens!
"Uh, okay, sweetie," he said, wiping off his tears. "I'll distract the cashier, you do your thing."
I nodded as I felt my heart beating faster and faster - I'm about to steal something, in the middle of the night after we snuck out of our Foster Center. This must be the craziest night of my life.
"Hello, mate," Draven greeted the cashier, a mid-aged man who looked like he was tired of living. Draven leaned against the pult. "I have a question for you."
I quickly sneaked behind him, trying to locate the food aisle, as he stalled. "Recently, I heard this song from Taylor Swift," he said seriously as I searched for the freezers. "Do you know who Taylor Swift is?"
Bingo, I found it!
"Of course I know, she is my queen," the cashier replied, suddenly more interested in Draven and the flow of their conversation.
I, on the other hand, didn't know whether to be concerned that Draven listens to her or that a fifty-year-old man said she is 'his queen'.
My eyes scanned through the freezers, trying to find some good fish. What will terrify him the most?
"Do you know this song?" Draven asked and hummed the melody of a song even I can't recognize. He must've made it up.
Instead of listening to their rather interesting conversation, I focused on my mission and took the first one I thought was the biggest.
"Yes, Blank Space!" he said as I peeked behind the food aisle, giving Draven the sign I'm done. He nodded and gave a friendly shake to the cashier, after which I heard a loud clatter and chain of curses. "Oh, my bad! It's like gravity hates me. Wait, let me help you."
I took that as my sign and quickly ran towards the exit, crouching behind the store on the ground.
"So, what do you have?" Draven asked me, suddenly appearing in front of me. I got up and smirked, as I pulled out a raw, slimy fish from behind my back.
His eyes filled up with terror as he frowned and turned around. "No," he shook his head. "No fucking way."
"Hey, Aquaboy. A deal is a deal," I reminded him, still holding out the fish. On a real note, this thing stinks!
He groaned before he turned back to me, pouting like a disappointed child. "I thought I'd get to kiss your ass."
"Step by step, baby boy," I joked, handing him the fat fish.
It was honestly disgusting and I don't think I could do it if I was in his place.
He slowly closed his eyes and fastly kissed the fish, before tossing it in the trash. He wiped his hands on his shirt and threw up on the sidewalk.
"You'll never speak of this again," he said with disgust as he wiped off his mouth.
I could barely contain a laugh as we went to get something to eat. Food, finally. I'm so hungry I could eat the entire diner!
"We'll see," I playfully bumped my shoulder into his.
"Little rebel, you make me crazy," he chuckled, intertwining our fingers.
That goes both ways, Draven.
