The Umbrella Deal

Lonna's eyes stayed locked on the titled floor below her as she slowly walked down the lonely hallway. 'Even though what Jisoo did was wrong, Suga and I becoming step siblings is a reality. What should I do?' The thoughts were sad, making the frown on her face worsen. 'To the person I like, I can't even tell him I like him.' She sighed loudly as she leaned on the window sill next to her. 'The sky is grey. Is it about to rain? I'm feeling the same way. I want there to be rain, so it can wash away my frustrations.'

Krystal's POV

Momo and Krystal held on tightly to their umbrellas, as the heavy rain poured around them. "This is the biggest crisis in Lonna's love life. We must help her diffuse the situation. So let's go to her house." Krystal started to pick up the pace of their walking.

"That girl took the manager job. I think it was to spite Lonna." Momo added her two cents.

"Using a basketball term, she's tell Lonna that she is going to 'shut her down.'" Momo nodded in half understanding.

"Don't you have to go to work? I can go see Lonna myself."

"We should work hard for love. We shouldn't give up on the first try." Krystal said waving off Momo's question. " Even if she is targeting Lonna, Lonna shouldn't give up..."

Krystal stopped walking as she saw the soaked figure running through the rain. "You're right, if it we're us, we'd have to work hard for it too." Momo said not realizing she was currently being ignored.

Jin ran as fast as he could while gripping the hood of his sweatshirt tightly. His eyes darted back and forth, looking for any kind of shelter from the rain. Finally, he managed to get inside a phone booth.

"Hey Momo, I'll lend you my umbrella." Krystal said making Momo look at her confused.

"I have an umbrella and it's raining." Krystal became frustrated at Momo's lack to get what she was trying to do.

"Lonna might need it."

"She's at home." Momo answered back.

"It doesn't matter, just hold it for me. Go!" She shoved the umbrella into Momo's hand so roughly, it pushed her back.

"What's going on?" Krystal didn't answer her, but she simply waved her away. Momo still didn't understand what was happening, but she left anyway, carrying both umbrellas as she was told.

Krystal bit her bottom lip out of nerves as she ran towards where Jin had went to hide from the rain. His back was turned towards the door, forcing Krystal to have to knock to get his attention. Once Jin saw the distress on the girl's face, he quickly opened the door.

The phone booth was a lot smaller than usual with Jin in it. The pair had to move as close as they could to each other. The atmosphere turned awkward as neither of them knew what to say to the other. "The..."

They both had chosen the same time to talk. The embarrassment of the moment made both of them blush. "You first." Jin was the first to say something.

"Please go ahead."

Jin frowned at being forced to speak ahead of Krystal. "I don't want to lie, but I don't know what to say that won't hurt you."

"Don't...I know." Krystal could feel the pain of tears start in her eyes. "Actually, the more I thought about it, the stranger it got. Why would I do something like that? I was a bit out of it." Krystal grabbed the strap of her book bag tighter to try and distract her sadness.

The phone booth went completely silent until a small sneeze came from Krystal. Jin looked at her with concern. She sneezed again. Jin slowly reached out and grabbed one of her hands in his. He gently rubbed her small hand in between his two bigger ones.

"Rub your hands, and put them on your face. You won't feel cold." He showed her how to do it, making Krystal awkwardly smile at the loss of contact. The awkward atmosphere returned as they both shyly looked away from each other.

A sudden knock on the door interrupted them. Jin opened the door to better hear the man on the other side."I need to use the phone, sorry." Jin nodded his head in understanding before shutting the door back and looking at Krystal.

"Where do you need to go?" Krystal looked everywhere for any valid location.

"There's a Subway station over there." She was grateful for not looking like a fool, but the destination was still far away from where they were. She hated the thought of having to walk in the hard rain without an umbrella.

"I'll take you there." Krystal's mouth dropped open at Jin's unexpected words. Jin quickly removed the hooded jacket he was wearing. Krystal tried not to let him see her smile as he opened the door and pulled her under the cover he had made with the jacket.

"Sorry." He said before moving Krystal closer to his side. They took off running through the crowds. Krystal could feel her heart pound in her chest as she snuck a glance in Jin's direction. His lips were pressed together in thought and his strong jawbone was tensed up.

Just as Krystal had had a good enough look, she started paying attention to what she was doing once more. Jin peeked over at the girl that was pressed against him. Her smile made him blush, as a small smile took form on his own lips.

After awhile of running they finally made it to the overhead cover of the station. They separated quickly to shake the rain from their hair. "Hold on to the jacket." Jin said making Krystal look in his direction.

"No, it's okay." She said quickly denying his request.

"Hold on to it, the rain won't be letting up soon. Go in and take the subway." Krystal reluctantly took the jacket.

Jin watched her disappear down the stairs before looking back to the rain. He didn't know why he felt so disappointed to see her go. "Jin!" Her voice screamed his name making her look back at her. His heart raced as he looked at the sad look on her face. "Is it really impossible? I know you can't forget Lonna so soon, but that's not important. Can't we...create our own memories?"

Jin stood quiet as he listened to her. He didn't know what he was feeling. "I'll make a bet with you." Jin's heart beat louder as Krystal got closer.

"If the next passerby carries a red umbrella, then we'll go on a date."

Jin ran his hand through his hair in frustration. "I don't think that would be very fair to you."

"If I don't even get a chance, then that will truly be unfair to me!" Krystal's voice raised with her own frustration. Jin grew quiet once more, unable to find the strength to fight with her anymore. "So, if red umbrella, we'll go on a date."

Krystal and Jin both looked down the steps in anticipation. Krystal squeezed Jin's jacket close to her, to keep herself from shaking from her nerves. They both held their breath as the woman reached in her bag to pull out her umbrella.

The color of green and white made both of them frown. Krystal felt stupid for even trying. Jin looked at her to see what her next move would be. "Well, that's it. Bye." Seeing Krystal start to walk away made Jin's stomach flip. He was tired of fighting it, he knew he was still sad over Lonna, but it was evident, he felt something for the girl that was giving up on him.

"Krystal!" He yelled hoping she would go for his plan. Krystal's eyes grew wider as she turned back around to face him. "It's only fair if I'm given a chance too." Krystal was stunned by his words. Jin gave her a small smile. "Same thing, if the next umbrella is red, then we'll set up a date."

Krystal had never prayed so hard in her life as they both stared at the girl coming up the stairs.
