The Moon

Lonna walked on the gym balcony as she ran her hand over the cool metal of the safety railing. Her mind was running with never ending thoughts. Suga and her still hadn’t bumped into each other, and in all honesty, she wouldn’t know what to say even if they did. She had thought once the Keun-suk issue was taken care of he would be happier, but she never imagined things would end up like this. The thought of her feelings meaning something more than his was heart shattering.

Suga’s POV

Suga had left Taehyung behind wondering what he had done to cause such a cursing. He now stood on the outside steps, leaning on the railing, with his hand under his chin. His regrets were starting to lay heavy on him as he stared out over the city.

Jin walked up to him and leaned his back against the railing lazily. “Do me a favor…bring the old Suga back, okay.”

Suga rolled his eyes. “Don’t know what you’re talking about.”

Jin was tired of Suga’s stubbornness. “Bystanders see it clearly. You, the participant, are blinded to no end. Even if Keun-suk was Lonna’s first love, so what? Don’t you know by now who has her heart?”

“I’m just jealous…that he isn’t going to be her brother.” Suga opened up. “So annoying. It’s because were siblings…I’m so agonized.”

Lonna felt her heart sink as she listened from the door behind them. Jin had offered to help her find out what Suga’s problem was, but she never thought he would lay his feelings out this easily.  I’d always thought I was the only one agonized. But Suga is too.

Lonna’s POV

The quiet of the locker room was disturbed as Jisoo slammed the club log on the table in front of Lonna, making her jump. “Make sure to update the club journal today.” Jisoo ordered.

“Why is it me?” Lonna asked.

“Because chocolate girl took the day off.”

Lonna was shocked by this information. She slowly stood up out of her chair. “Seungwan took off? What happened?”

“Who knows?” Jisoo shrugged her shoulders. Then her face got serious as she leaned closer to Lonna. “But…she noticed.” Lonna didn’t need to ask to know what she was referring to. The thought made her nervous. “I think sometime soon, she will confirm it with Suga.” Seeing the distress on Lonna’s face, she oddly felt like comforting her. “But…she doesn’t know it is you.”

Jisoo didn’t know what to do to help Lonna. The more she stood and watched her, the more she seemed to disappear inside herself. RM called for her to come on, giving her the chance to escape. Once she was gone, Lonna walked on unstable feet to the nearest beach and collapsed on to it. What should I do? We’ll be exposed. What to do? Lonna felt as if her world was crashing down around her. She clutched her chest as it started to vibrate with pain. If uncle and mom find out, what will happen?

Later that night, Lonna sat on her bed reading one of the new manga books Krystal had let her borrow. She was interrupted by her phone ringing. “Hello?” She answered.

“Can you come out?” She stopped reading the book as Suga’s voice came through the phone.

“Where?” She asked confused and shocked by his request. To her dismay, Suga hung up the phone. “He didn’t say where.” She pouted. The sound of her message tone caught her attention. Once it loaded up, Lonna could see a familiar part of the city staring back at her. She smirked slightly as she recognized where Suga was.

Suga’s POV

The sky was dark and void of any cloud cover, making it easy for Suga to see each shiny star as he lightly swung the park swing he was occupying. He thought the view from this tiny abandoned park was one of the best. The city lights didn’t block it out, which was rare to find. The bright moon seemed to twinkle as he watched it. He tapped his on his hand as he contemplated its beauty. It reminded him of Lonna, always had.

Lonna was out of breath and sweating as she ran up beside him. “You’re slow.” Suga said as he walked up to her.

“Why’d you make it a test? Do you know how many swings are in the world?” Lonna was annoyed already with his attitude. “If I hadn’t recognized it, to what year would you have waited?” Suga didn’t say anything to her, instead he just turned his eyes from her. “Why’d you suddenly want to come here?”

“I just wanted to.” He answered simply.

“Oh.” Lonna said slowly. Suga looked back at her. The memory of how he had found the park came to his mind as he watched her look around.

Suga pulled into the small abandoned park to find Lonna sitting on the one good swing, with her head sadly in her hands. He parked his bicycle and sat across from her. “I was just wondering what kind of person would sit alone on a swing crying. Didn’t think it would be my own noona.”

“The first time I found you here, you were crying hard.” Suga said.

“Was not.” Lonna denied.

Suga rolled his eyes before lifting his view to the sky above them. “I never thought there would be a place one could throw away unwanted emotions.” He turned his gaze back to Lonna. “It feels pretty good.”

Lonna could feel her heart start to beat faster as her nerves overtook her. “You…have unwanted emotions you want to throw away?”

Suga took a deep breath to steady himself as he prepared to talk about the subject he most wanted to avoid. “Yesterday, I went out to eat with Keun-suk.”

“You and Keun-suk. Why?” Lonna grew confused.

“I don’t know why I agreed to eat with him.” Suga answered simply.

“Then why didn’t you tell me yesterday?” Lonna asked.

“Because I was pissed.” Suga gave her a ‘duh’ kind of stare.

“Huh?” Lonna asked, not getting his reasoning.

“When I saw you in his car, I got even more pissed.”

Lonna sighed deeply. “You can’t blame me for that. You’re the one who left me behind; you left first.”

“What could I do? I couldn’t not take her home.” Suga said.

As a silence grew between them, the events of earlier today came to Lonna’s mind. She didn’t know if he would answer her, but her curiosity was too large. “Suga, what are we going to do?” It didn’t surprise her when he stayed silent and looked back up at the glowing moon that seemed to be staring at them. Lonna followed his lead. This is us feeling the uncertainty. Slowly searching, confirming, again and again. With only the moon to see us. Lonna thought as she admired the beauty in the quiet.

Seungwan’s POV

Seungwan sat on her couch as she tried to concentrate on the task she had created to help ease her mind. She took the gold foil that she had gotten from her chocolates and made a tiny rose from it. Her eyes drifted after she had finished her latest one, to the cup the chocolate laid in. Instead of a piece of chocolate though, the small ring took its place. A sound from her window shocked her out of her depressing thoughts.

She quickly dropped the rose with the others as she ran over and opened the window. Looking down a smile formed on her lips as RM, Jimin, Taehyung, and Jhope stared back up at her. “It’s you guys. What are you doing here?”

“Uh, yeah…we’re here to look at the moon with you.” RM answered.

Seungwan looked up at the sky but didn’t see any moon. “Moon?”

“Because it is a full moon tonight.” Taehyung added.

“Yeah, Yoongi always likes to look at the moon.” Jhope spoke next.

“Yeah, yeah, because “moon” sounds like…” RM quickly elbowed his ribs to shut Taehyung up.

Listening to them talk, the conversation with Jisoo made its way into her thoughts.

“Yoongi dropped this ring. I think…he plans to give it to the person he likes.” Just saying the words made her heart feel like it could break any second.

“You finally noticed?” Jisoo asked.

She gave the boys below her a suspicious look. “You guys. Are you trying to tell me something?” She felt like they had confirmed her question as she watched them all elbow each other, trying to get one of them to speak up. “I know…Yoongi already has someone he likes.” Suddenly RM motioned for the other boys to gather around. Seungwan became confused as she watched them all put a fist in the middle.

“Rock, Paper, Scissors.” They whispered before releasing what they each had picked. They all laughed at RM as they saw his losing scissors among three rocks. Jhope and Jimin both gave him an encouraging pat on the back.

RM cursed for losing, before turning his attention back to the girl standing in her window. “It’s…” He looked around at the other three as he stuttered nervously. “What I’m trying to say is…” His silence highly annoyed Taehyung, prompting him to smack him hard on the arm. RM took a deep breath trying to steady himself. “Yoongi would never agree to a marriage without love.” He prayed that what he had said made the sense he was trying to convey, but the way Seungwan stared at him made him question himself.

“The person…do I know her?” That was the only thing Seungwan cared about finding the answer to. It made her angry as the boys stayed quiet and looked nervously around at each other. “The person that Yoongi likes, do I know her?” She asked clearer.

None of them wanted to answer her question, but they also didn’t want to lie to her. “We don’t want you to get hurt.” Jhope was the first to say something. “Actually…” All the boys’ hearts raced as he continued to speak. They were so scared of how she would react if he chose to spill the truth. “We all like you.”

To their surprise, he changed the subject. Jhope felt bad for not telling her what she wanted to know, but he couldn’t tell her something he didn’t feel was his place to say. All the boys breathed a sigh of relief.

“Yeah.” Taehyung agreed. “If you give up on Yoongi, I will be the first to ask you out.” Seungwan smiled finally as she saw Jimin shove Taehyung and start pointing at himself frantically.

“I already have a girlfriend, so…” RM said. “But, if not, these losers wouldn’t stand a chance.” The other three boys each pinched him in different places to punish him for his comment.

Seungwan laughed as she watched them play fight among each other. A sudden idea came to her head. “Hold on a second.” She said before disappearing back into her apartment.

The boys all wore huge smiles as she came walking out of her buildings’ entrance door. She smiled happily as she walked over to Jhope and handed him a chocolate first. She wanted to thank them for making her feel better than she had since last night. They all thanked her as she handed each of them their own chocolates.

Once she got to Jimin at the end of the line, he smiled at her sweetly. The smile was so big that his eyes seemed to disappear, which Seungwan found cute. He gently rubbed her shoulder as he gestured for her to look up.

Just as the beautiful moon came to her attention they all started to walk away. They felt the plan had worked out the best it could and now it was up to Seungwan to figure out the answer to her most important question. She glanced at their retreating figures once more before turning back to the moon that seemed so mysterious to her. What did they mean when they said, Yoongi likes the moon? She felt like it was a clue and was determined to find the answer.

A/N: I plan on uploading two more chapters. Tomorrow and Friday morning, but after that I will be on a 3 day hiatus. I am attending my annual horror convention, so I will not upload. I may read and I will definitely try to answer to comments and messages at night, but I don't know how much I will be on here during the daytime.

I know this story is taking forever and again I apologize. Hope you are still enjoying it though.

Love you all! ❤💙💛💚💞
