Hide and Seek
Suga's grandmother rolled her eyes at Mr. Min and Pamela running around her house tickling each other. She tried to stay focused on her calming cup of tea. "Santa Claus, don't you have a gift for Mom? Take it out quickly." Pamela said.
"Oh, mom's gift, I... forgot." Grandmother gave him an angry look.
"I don't believe you." Pamela tickled him again. "Take it out."
Grandmother sipped her tea as she turned on the TV. "It's okay. I don't need anything."
"Don't you have a lot of gifts in your bag?" Pamela whispered slightly angry.
"Oh, this..." Mr. Min nodded his head as he grabbed the big red present bag beside him. "Mom..." He walked over and knelt down beside the chair she was relaxing in. "It's like this, at school, there are some students that are especially needed. I thought tonight being Christmas Eve, me as president, I would take a little gift to cheer them up. So next year they will work harder, study harder. Is that okay?"
His mother didn't even look at him as she continued to watch her tv program. "That's fine."
"No wonder you dressed like this." Pamela gave him a look of adoration. "Mr. Min, you're a good man."
"Really?" Pamela nodded confirming. Mr. Min happily started kissing her all over her face. Pamela giggled like a little girl.
"Alright, enough. Stop goofing around." Grandmother scolded. "If you must go, then go." Honestly, they were getting on her already frayed nerves.
Mr. Min gave Pamela a "we're in trouble look." "Okay." He said to his mother. Pamela moved to crouch down beside Mr. Min.
"Mom, thank you." She gave her a small smile. "Cause without you, I wouldn't have your son, and it wouldn't be like now."
"Right." Mr. Min smiled proud of his fiancee. To his mother's shock, Pamela leaned over the arm of the chair and planted a small kiss to her cheek.
When she pulled away, Mr. Min grabbed his mother's hand. "Mom, I promise. Your Christmas present will arrive before the clock strikes twelve."
"Enough. Go." Grandmother chuckled a bit. Pamela bowed to her as she got her coat.
"Merry Christmas." Mr. Min and her both said. His mother again rolled her eyes as her son left her house singing jingle bells loudly.
Lonna's POV
The hall of the karaoke house was no longer silent as the basketball team wrapped up. They all quickly gathered in the lobby, none of them were ready to go home just yet.
Krystal could see the sadness Lonna was trying to hide as she walked out of the room behind everyone else. "What's wrong? Fight with Suga?" She asked her.
"It wasn't really a fight." Lonna sighed. "It's more like I'm the only one angry."
"It's not necessary. Every since the basketball incident, I've learned one thing."
"What?" Lonna was intrigued.
"Guys are physically developed, but simple minded creatures. You may have gone through 100 things in your mind, but he's not even on the first. Getting mad is useless." Lonna felt maybe Krystal was right.
"What should I do?" Lonna asked.
"Krystal, we're discussing where to go next." Jin came over interrupting. He grabbed Krystal's hand and lead her to the group.
Krystal looked over her shoulder at Lonna and pointed at their intertwined hands. "This is the answer."
Whether they're in a crowd, or alone, Krystal and Jin only want to be with each other. No question about it...like Krystal said there is a clear answer. But what about me? Maybe I should tell them I am leaving. Lonna tried not to let the sadness she was feeling show in her face as she went to tell the group she was going to go home.
"Want to play hide and seek?" Suga suggested. "The perimeter is the park outside."
"If we play a game, we don't have to spend any money, or squeeze into any crowded places." RM helped convince the others.
"Since every place is jam packed and super expensive." Taehyung added.
"It's unorthodox, but... a cute kind of unorthodox." Jhope persuaded.
"Since it's childish, let's give it a try, adding some Christmas spice." Suga's words caught Lonna's attention.
"Spicer the better. Quick, how?" Jhope asked.
"At the end of an hour, the last person that hasn't been found will be tonight's winner. The winner gets to ask the person he likes for a kiss." The team cheered as each boy looked at one of the three girls that were present. Suga glanced over at Lonna, who was staring back wide eyed.
RM looked over at Jisoo. "Does the same rule apply to the girls?" Jisoo asked.
"Equality between the sexes is a must." Jhope answered. Jisoo looked over in Suga's direction and smirked.
Seeing Jisoo's determined face, I've decided I'll stay and fight. Lonna thought as anger and jealousy took over. Krystal and Jin looked at each other and smiled shyly.
Outside, Jin stood in the middle of the rest. "Everyone the first annual men's basketball team hide and seek kissing competition officially begins." Everyone moved one hand behind their back. "Rock, paper, scissors!" Jin yelled and everyone put their fist in the circle.
Laughs erupted from everyone, except Jin who stared at his scissors with anger. "I'm it. Doomed to have no chance." He pouted dramatically.
"Auntie, this is probably your good guy destiny." Suga teased as he patted his back. Jin gave him an evil glare as he shoved his hand away from him.
"Jin, count to 100." Taehyung said.
"1,2,3,4..." Jin started counting and everyone scrambled to find a place to hide. Lonna stayed glued to her spot.
Seeing Jisoo's eagerness, she probably wants to take advantage of Suga. I won't give her the chance. Suga stopped and looked back at Jin. Seeing Lonna still standing there staring at Jin, who was now at number ten. He chuckled at her stupidity, before running back to her.
Suga wrapped his arm around her shoulder to break the trance she seemed to be in. "Let's go!" He ran, holding her hand, pulling her behind him.
"11, 12..." Jin continued counting.
The winter wind blows so hard, making the skin sting. Why did Suga suddenly suggest hide and seek? The thoughts ran wild in Lonna's mind as she looked at Suga's gummy smile as they ran together.
"97,98,99,100..." Jin opened his eyes, looking like a warrior ready to fight. "Krystal's kiss...I must protect her kiss tonight." He started searching.
The park was dark and it made it hard to see, but Jin looked everywhere. High and low. He knew that it was possible for someone to be hiding anywhere. Suddenly, the sound of a cellphone ringing drifted to his ears.
Jisoo gripped her purse tightly to her chest, in hopes of silencing the ringing enough to not get caught. Feeling someone staring at her, she slowly looked up. Jin stared down at her with a victorious smile on his face.
"Hello?" Jisoo screamed bitterly in the phone. "Wishing me merry Christmas? I have known you for a long time. I never knew you to be this courteous. I want to wish you a..." Jisoo knew she had to calm down. "Merry Christmas." She said the last part sweetly, before slamming the phone shut in anger. She gave Jin and angry gesture, he only returned her wordless threat by ignoring her.
Krystal ran quickly and hid behind one of the concrete pillars on the parks' walking path. Feeling suddenly like she wasn't alone, she looked to her side. Jhope was crouched behind a pillar not too far from her's. Once he saw her looking at him, he winked at her and blew a kiss in her direction.
What is this guy planning? Krystal though silently as she gave him a disgusted look. His continuous smiling creeped her out enough for her to leave and find a new hiding spot.
Jin silently crouched beside Jhope and used his elbow to nug him in the side. Jhope jumped being scared by Jin. Jin mocked his earlier actions by blowing him and kiss and winking at him. His smile quickly faded as he gave Jhope an angry look. "Out!" He yelled. Jhope went back to where Jisoo stood hanging his head in defeat.
As Krystal ran to find a new hiding place she heard a small chuckle from above her. Looking up she jumped in surprise as Taehyung gave her one of his signature boxy smiles. He was sitting on the highest point of the park office radio tower, looking down at her. Once again feeling creeped out, she turned to run the opposite way.
As soon as she turned she came face to face with Jin, who had been standing behind her. "Why did I get caught so fast?" She whined. To her surprise, Jin leaned down and covered her lips with his. He held her close to him as he kissed her. "You cheated!" Krystal yelled as soon as he pulled away.
"I didn't." Jin said.
"We're still playing hide and seek!" Krystal yelled again.
"I don't care if I cheated. I don't care about their rules." Jin looked deeply into her eyes as he spoke. He pointed at her lips. "Besides, how can it be a trophy for a game?" Krystal blushed. "My feelings for you are entirely serious. I don't want to play games."
Someone clearing their throat pulled Jin and Krystal out of their sweet moment. They both looked up at Taehyung. "Um, I say, this business should wait till after the game; when you're alone. Wouldn't that be better." He said.
Jin glared at him as Krystal hid her red face in her hands. "I caught you." Jin yelled. Taehyung rolled his eyes in annoyance.
"That's low." Krystal poked Jin's shoulder. Once he looked at her, she quickly pointed in the direction behind her. Jin gave her a knowing smile as he left her.
Suga quickly pulled Lonna behind a wall. He surprised her as he pushed her up against it and trapped her with his hands. "Suga, what are you doing?" She yelled.
Suga leaned his face closely to hers. "Quiet...or they will find us." Lonna instantly pressed her lips together.
Suga was staring at her. The same stare that always made Lonna's skin prickle. She could feel the butterflies start to flutter in her stomach. "I wonder how long until the end of the hour?" She tried to distract herself.
"Christmas Eve 2018..." Suga voice was low and husky, making Lonna feel even more excited. "This one hour, to Suga and Lonna, and the rest of the world's hour, cannot be compared. Because...this hour belongs only to us." Lonna's heart was pounding rapidly inside her chest as he stared deeply into her eyes. "Didn't you want to be alone with me?"
Why? Are you pouting? Suga's earlier teasing came to her mind. The look on his face didn't made Lonna want to tell him the truth. "I wanted to be alone with you." Suga smirked sexily at her as they looked at each other. He wanted me to say that. Because, his smiling face..." Lonna knew what he wanted her to her to do. It's for...She slowly leaned forward and placed a playful peck to his lips. Suga's smirk widened. Me to do that. Devil's wicked plan. I can't defeat him.
Lonna's eyes fluttered close as Suga inched closer to her. Feeling something touch both their lips that wasn't what was intended. They both looked out the corner of their eyes.
Jin smiled back at them creepily as he held his hand between them. "I caught you." Jin laughed. Suga gave him a look like he could kill him. Lonna quickly turned her head in embarrassment.
Taking a calming breath, Suga pulled away from Lonna and turned to Jin. "Can you see, do you recognize..." He pulled one arm up and grabbed his nose and put the other arm through the space. "What this animal is?" Suga asked.
Jin gave him a confused look. "It's an elephant, so what?" Jin answered.
Suga let his mouth open in fake surprise. "Oh, you do know it? Weird. You shouldn't have recognized it." Suga patted his shoulder hard as he left.
"What does he mean?" Jin asked Lonna.
"He means bad timing." Lonna said angrily. Jin followed behind her, still unsure what the two was getting at.
"Last minute." Jhope said as the three joined the rest of the group. "Everybody's been found." Krystal quickly looked around, before running up to Jin.
"Jin, there is one left." She said.
Due to Jin's persistence, one by one, everyone was found. But, another flaming love was holding on to fate, to the last minute. Lonna and Suga smiled knowingly at each other, as they realized who it was that was missing.
