Family Pictures (re-upload, changed)
Lonna and Suga stood hand in hand in front of the choir. The lights from the Christmas tree illuminated their shiny robes. They both looked at the choir with different expressions. Suga had a smile on his face and Lonna wasn't sure she was seeing what was right in front of her.
Lonna pulled on Suga's sleeve and pointed ahead of her. "It's Jimin!" She said in disbelief. Suga smirked as he shook his head in confirmation. "Why have I just now realized I have never heard his voice before?! I didn't know his voice was so unique."
"Now you know why he doesn't like to speak." Suga said. "Because..." Suga cleared his throat. "I'll beat you up! I'll beat you up!" His high pitched voice made Lonna giggle. "Ah, so Jimin was here tonight singing carols." Suga finally realized why Jimin wasn't at the celebration.
"We're so lucky to have him sing for us..." Suga shook his head in agreement.
Suga's grandmother's POV
"Tonight, everywhere is having Christmas Eve events." The announcer on the TV reported. "There is even a choir here singing. Christmas is an important time for lovers." Suga's grandmother stood frozen in front of the TV as her eyes refused to look away from the screen.
Suga was standing behind Lonna, he pinched her cheeks, making her giggle. She turned to him and slapped his shoulder, making Suga laugh in return. Seeing a strand of her hair out of place, Suga gently put it back in place as Lonna smiled at him.
Suga's grandmother, didn't know what to think, or how to feel. She stood in a trance as she watched the two interact. "Grandma! Come eat." Jungkook called to her.
Being pulled back to reality. "Okay." Grandmother finally pressed the power button. The screen went black, but her mind still ran wild. She put on a fake smile as she joined Jungkook at the table.
Lonna's POV
"Why do you keep smiling?" Suga asked as he looked down into Lonna's face.
"Because I was remembering how we met." She answered.
Suga laughed as he pinched her nose gently. "You're an idiot." The day that Lonna had giving the confession letter she meant for Jin to Suga instead, flashed through both their minds.
"But I finally delivered it.." Lonna moved closer to Suga. "The right love letter to the right guy."
Suga rolled his eyes. "When did you write me a letter?"
"I did!" Lonna held the glove on her hand up between them. "I knitted these as a love letter. Everything I wanted to say, I knitted in here."
"Really? If these are a love letter, then I'll reply back to you."
"So annoying!" Lonna said. "I only wanted to express my feelings. Why tease me?"
Suga showed one of his rare gummy smiles as he gently pinched her nose again. "Idiot."
A Few Days Later
Suga rolled his eyes as he walked down the street talking into his cellphone. "I'm almost there. Old man, what trick are you playing? I got it."
The young girl's high heel got stuck in a tiny hole as she walked across the street. Losing her balance she fell down in front of the on coming traffic. To make matters worse, her glasses fell off.
Thankfully the cars stopped as she crawled on the street using her hand to try and pinpoint the location of her glasses.
Noticing the girl in trouble, Suga looked up at the light. It flashed yellow, telling him it was about time for the traffic to resume. The cars honked loudly as the girl continued her search. Suga rolled his eyes as he ran over to help.
Suga quickly picked up the glasses and the lens that had popped out. Leaning down, he grabbed the girl. She could hardly make out more than a blurry image of his face as she grabbed the cuff of his jacket and let him help her to her feet. He quickly crossed the road with the girl holding tightly to him.
"Your glasses are broken. Be careful." Suga said handing her the glasses and starting to walk away. Giving a second thought, he turned and looked at the girl, who was squinting, trying to see the pieces of her glasses. He knew he couldn't leave her to herself. He walked back to her and grabbed her arm. "Since you can't see, I'll take you to the glasses store."
"Can you see the 5 on the top?" The doctor asked.
"I can." The girl answered.
"Doctor, please give her a new pair of glasses." Suga said from his spot by the door. "Do you have money?"
"Yes." The girl confirmed.
"Please give her the fortified kind, not easily broken." Hearing him open the door and leave the girl ran after him.
"Hold on!"
"You're welcome." Suga said as he turned to face her.
"Huh?" She asked confused.
"I know you wanted to say thank you." Suga said.
The girl smiled. "I did want to say thank you and..." She reached into her Gucci purse and pulled out a Ferrero Rocher chocolate. She held it out to him. "This."
"What is it?" Suga asked.
"It's tasty. Gift for you." The image of Suga was blurry to her vision, but she could still see Suga smile a small bit.
The smile grew bigger as he walked up to her and took the chocolate from her hand. She felt her heart beat quickly inside her chest as they both turned to go their separate ways. She was stopped as something made a crunch sound under the bottom of her shoe.
Bending down, she picked the small object up to where she could see it. As she held it close to her face, she could tell it was a small button. She turned to where Suga was standing, to ask if it was his, but he was gone. She gripped the button tightly in her hand. She hoped the little black thing was her key to seeing the person who had dropped it again.
Now being late Suga had to run to get to where his father told him to meet him.
"Look over here." A voice said and then Suga heard a camera click. He ran into the room, to find his father and Pamela taking pictures.
"Yoongi, Yoongi!" His father ignored the photographer's next direction as he jumped up to greet his son. "Hey, come here." He put his arm around Suga's shoulder and turned him towards the photographer. "This is my son. Handsome, huh? He makes spectacled people's glasses explode. Other people, their eyes just shoot flames..."
"Shut up!" Suga screamed to quiet his father.
His father pinched his cheek. "It's this shy expression that is especially appealing. Let's take a picture..."
"I'm leaving." Suga rolled his eyes and tried to walk away from his dad. His eyes went wide as he came face to face with Lonna, who had just came back from the dressing room. Her long hair was straightened and blowing lazily in the air of the fan behind her. Her makeup was light and brought out her beautiful features. The white dress she wore hugged every curve perfectly. Suga was frozen in front of her, unable to move.
"Why are you dressed like that?" Suga's question confused Lonna.
"Because mom and uncle want me to take a picture with them." She answered. Suga's father stood behind his awestruck son and creepily smiled as he shook his head confirming what Lonna said.
"And Yoongi, too." Pamela chimed in. "I want you to take a family portrait."
Suga slowly turned to look in her direction. "I don't..." He drug the words out, because he knew he couldn't say no if she insisted.
Pamela knew she had him. "You won't let me down, right?" She pouted and batted her eyes in Suga's direction.
Suga quickly gave in. "If I don't do it, I will be very uncooperative." Lonna giggled at how easily her mother had cracked Suga.
"Right!" Mr. Min clapped his hands excitedly. "My son is obedient and kind. Also tall..."
"If you continue. I'll disappear!" Suga yelled warning him. Mr. Min quickly clamped his mouth closed.
Author's POV
In another room not far from them, the young girl pushed her new glasses further up her nose. The camera clicked away as she smiled sweetly at it. "Turn to the right." The photographer ordered and she obeyed.
"Ok, now lower your shoulder." The girl gathered the end of her long hair to the front as she again did what she was told. "Ok. Smile" Smiling big, the camera clicked again.
The photographer tilted his head as he looked her up and down. "I think if you take off the glasses, you'll look cuter."
The girl reluctantly did as he told her. "Ok. Look here and smile." The camera clicked for the last couple times.
Lonna's POV
The camera shutter clicked and the light stung their eyes. Lonna and Suga stood behind their parents as they took pictures. Suga and his father, both wore suits and Lonna was in her bridesmaids dress and Pamela in her wedding dress. "Wow. Your whole family is good looking." The photographer said. "Although they're siblings, they look good together."
Pamela looked back at her daughter. "Lonna looks more feminine now." Mr. Min looked back as well.
"Maybe NaNa has a boyfriend?" He asked.
"I do not." Lonna started to feel awkward as Suga looked over at her.
"Huh?" Her mother was shocked. "Didn't you have a date on Christmas Eve?" Suga's head snapped in Lonna's direction as she gaped at her mother unsure of what to say.
"That was the basketball banquet." Suga helped her out. "We went together since Lonna is the team manager." Lonna gave him a thankful look.
"Oh, that was it." Lonna couldn't hide the nervous look from her face. "But, that can't be it!" To Lonna's dismay, her mother wouldn't drop the subject. "I remember the night before, I saw you knitting a glove." Suga was trying to hide his smile as he looked out of the corner of his eye at Lonna's flustered face. "I thought it was for a guy you liked."
Lonna's mouth opened and closed like a fish, as she tried to think of what to say. Suga once again tried to help her out. "If there was such a guy, when he received the gift, he must have been very happy."
Suddenly, a thought hit Lonna. "I knitted it for myself." Suga couldn't help but smile devilishly as he knew what she planned to do. Lonna ran behind him and over to her purse. She dug out the glove that Suga had put on her hand and held it up. "See." She said confident she would stop anymore suspicion.
"Why is there only one?" Suga couldn't help but tease Lonna. Lonna looked over at the glove and mentally smacked herself for not thinking of what to say if that question was asked. "Then the other one, I'll pair it up for you. I promise." Lonna smiled awkwardly, unsure of how to feel about Suga's sour patch kid behavior.
"So, you got it wrong." Mr. Min patted Pamela gently on the back as she rubbed the back of her neck in embarrassment.
"When you do get a boyfriend, Lonna, you must introduce him to us." Pamela told her daughter.
If I could, it wouldn't be so hard on me, mom. Lonna was frustrated and saddened by the thought.
"Even though we haven't done the official wedding ceremony..." Mr. Min quickly changed the subject. "I'm thinking after New Year's, I want Pammy and NaNa to move in with us." Pamela smiled wide at him. "Then, we will put this family portrait in the house. Is that okay?" Pamela held in her tears as she shook her head.
Lonna could only look at Suga. Are we really going to be living under the same roof? She bit her lip as Suga stared back at her, smiling devilishly once again.
Suga gave Lonna that look that always sends goosebumps up her spine. So that means we'll finally be living together. It's great, isn't it? The thought made him smile again, but Lonna couldn't stop worrying.
"Smile." Stand back as they were, the photos resumed again. "Be happy." Lonna did her best to follow the directions, but her mind was running in another direction. "Give me a happy family expression." Suga's smile widened as the camera clicked again.
