Ruhani's POV

'Rudra?'

How can he be here ?

I really tried to stop the tears but I was not able to do it. I was so happy today and suddenly he came  and once again ruined my happiness.

I saw Rakesh ran out of the shop as soon as he saw him. After he ran, Rudra immediately called police and told them everything and asked them to catch him again as soon as they can.

'Are you okay?' he asked coming towards me and I hugged him and started crying in his arms.

'Shhh...Ruhani. Everything is fine. He was not able to destroy you once again. You are safe and I know he will be in prison once again and this time we will make sure he will not come near you,' he said while caressing my back.

I broke our hug and looked at myself to see I was only in my undergarments. He noticed I was uncomfortable and opened his shirt and gave it to me.

I felt uncomfortable as I had never wore anyone's shirt except Vicky.

Vicky ! I just want to go and hug him and be in his arms.

'Are you okay?' Rudra's voice bought me out of my thoughts.

'Yes,' I said and took his shirt and wore it.

It is better to wear the shirt rather than standing almost naked in front of my best friend's boyfriend.

'Thank you Rudra for saving me. If you had not come I don't know...' the thought of what would have happened if he had not saved me almost crushed me.

'Ruhani, you are Anaya's bestfriend and today if me and Anaya are together it's only because of you,' he said.

'Rakesh...I don't even know he ran from the prison. I regret the day I met him and...

'Shhh...Don't remember the past now, you are already stressed,' he said and kissed my forehead.

We heard the sound of the door opening to see Anaya .

She was shocked to see Rudra and then she looked at me and as soon as she saw me she ran towards me.

'Are you okay? What happened Ru?" she asked and I hugged her.

'Rakesh came and he was forcing himself on me but Rudra saved me.'

'What? But how came he ran from the prison?' she shouted.

'I am also not able to understand that.'

'Thank god, Rudra came and saved you,' she said looking at him and he just gave her a small smile.

"But, how did you came here? You were transferred to Jaipur few months back, right? And you said that you will not be back for the time being,' Anaya asked Rudra.

'I left my job,' he said casually.

'What?' we both shouted.

'Yes, I asked boss for a leave for five days so that I can come and surprise you on your birthday and spend some time with you but he refused to give me leave so I left the company,' he told us. and there was a small smile on Anaya's lips.

'But, what will you do now?' Anaya asked.

'Now, I will be staying here and search another job,' he said.

"Thank you, Rudra,' Anaya said and they were staring at each other so I pretended to cough and they both looked at me.

'Where is Rakesh?' Anaya changed the topic suddenly.

'He ran but I called the police and they are searching him. Thank god, I thought of coming to coffee shop and give you a surprise otherwise I don't know what would have happened,' he said and I could never think about what could have happened.

The thought of it frightens me and it happened today on my best friend's birthday. I ruined her most special day. She should have been happily cutting the cake and then going out with Rudra to some romantic place as they are meeting each other after almost eight months but because of me she is here .

'Anaya, I want to talk with you for a second,' he said and she looked at me and I nodded with a smile and then they went towards the corner of the kitchen and were talking about something and then she left the shop.

'Don't worry, she will be back,' he said and I nodded. I was feeling a bit awkward with him alone and that too only in his shirt. Yes, I knew him pretty well but Vicky is the only man with whom I am comfortable with.

Anaya came and gave him a paper bag. He removed the shirt and wore it, then kissed her on her right cheek and whispered something in her ear and left .

'Is everything fine? I mean Rudra...'

'Yes, he felt we both needed to spend some time alone and he also felt your awkwardness so he left,' she answered before I could finish my question and that made me more guilty.

'Happy Birthday Bestie. I ruined your special day...'

'If you speak one more thing then I will slap you,' she shouted and I became quiet.

'I hanged the 'close' tag and locked the shop from inside. Now, no customer will disturb us,' she said and at beside me.

'I prepared pasta for you as my birthday treat,' she said as she removed the tiffin from the bag and opened it.

'I had bought cake for you but everything ruined,' I whispered softly.

'What? Really?' she asked and asked me where was it and I showed her.

She took the cake out.

'We should cut it,' she exclaimed with joy and I knew she was doing all this to make me happy .

Then she cut the cake and we fed each other.

Yesterday, when I bought it I thought we will celebrate it happily but never in my dream I thought of this.

After that we ate the pasta and after some time I ran towards bathroom and vomited .

'What happened? Are you okay?' she asked as she ran behind me.

'Yes, just a stomach bug,' I said wiping my mouth with a towel and went and sat on bed and she sat in front of me and she was looking questioningly at me.

'What?' I asked.

'I will ask you few things and reply truthfully,' she said and I was confused but still nodded.

'Vomiting happened before also?'

'Yes, for the past few days it is happening but I never thought much about it as maybe it is due to something I ate and if I will take few tablets, I will be fine.' I told her.

'Ru, are you pregnant?' 

'No,' I shouted hurriedly as it was not possible as we used precaution every time except...

'Shit !' I mumbled as I started rubbing my forehead.

'Ru, what happened?' she asked and started stroking my knee.

"Every time we used precaution except for that one time. He was always so cautious but I don't know that day we both were mad at each other and it suddenly happened and now, when you asked me about it, I remembered it. As you know my periods are irregular so it never came in my mind  that I might be pregnant.' I said remembering the day in the washroom of the office.

'Yaa...You are pregnant,' she exclaimed happily.

'Wait! I am not sure and maybe I am not pregnant but these signs. Anyway, I don't know anything, my brain is not working right now,' I said tiredly as I was confused over all the things happening today.

'I will be back in five minutes and don't worry I will lock the door from outside,' she said and before I could ask anything she left.

Am I really pregnant? Can I take the responsibility of a child if I am pregnant? What about Vicky? How will he react if it is the truth? Will he accept it and the main question is, am I ready for this? What will I tell to mom and dad? Vicky said he does not believe in love and I don't even know if he loves me or not, as he has not confessed his love for me in words so I don't know what will be his reaction.

I don't even know if I am ready to give birth to a baby but if I am really pregnant then abortion or giving up will never be an option.

Suddenly, I heard the door opening and closing and Anaya came and gave me a paper bag . There was a new dress and three pregnancy test in it .

'Three?'

'Yes, to be sure. Now go in the bathroom and wear this dress and check,' she said and pushed me in the bathroom.

I wore the dress and decided to do the test.

'What are the results?' she seemed more excited than me.

'Positive,' I said and she hugged me.

'You are having a baby. It will be so much fun. We have to prepare so much for the child...'

'How will Vicky react?' I said and she stopped her ranting  and broke our hug.

'You have to tell Vikram, right ? If you will not tell him how can we know what will be his decision. We cannot just sit here and assume that will he accept the baby or not. First tell me do you want the baby?' she asked and I stroked my stomach with my hand. 

Yes. I want this baby.

My baby. Our baby.

'Yes. I want this baby.

'Tell Vikram and whatever will be his decision, I am with you. One more thing is he loves you, even though he has not said the three words but I know he loves you and he will be happy. Trust me, I know that he will be happy,' she made me understood.

'I will tell him when he is back because I if I tell him on phone I will not be able to see his reaction and I want to look at his face while I share the news of our baby to him.'

'Okay. I will close the shop for today as after everything happened, I don't feel like working. I will drop you to Vikram's house and do you want me to come and stay with you?' she asked.

'No. I want you to go and spend the rest of your day with Rudra,' I said and she smiled shyly.

'By the way do you know how many weeks?" she asked and I told her that I don't exactly remember but I think approximately five to six weeks.

'Okay in few days we will visit a doctor for check up and we will ask the doctor everything. Now go home and take rest. Don't think about Vikram or your parents or anything. Everything will be okay so don't stress yourself,' she explained and I nodded and gave her a small smile.

'I will always be owed to Rudra for what he has done,' I told her.

'I know that and I will also be obliged to him forever for saving my best friend and you have given me the best birthday present,' she said and hugged me once again.

I am so lucky to have her in my life.

'Where is Sameer and Shamika?' I asked after breaking our hug.

'I don't know what's going on with them, today both of them asked for a leave.' she shrugged her shoulders as we both came out of the shop.

She locked the shop and we took a cab and she dropped me in front of Vicky's house. I know Uncle will be angry to see me as he asked to call him before leaving

I opened the door to see Vicky sitting on the sofa.

He was back? When? Thank god he is back. 

Today after the stressful day, I just need to sleep in his arms peacefully and now I can tell him about our baby also.

'Vicky,' I ran towards him and he stood up.

By looking at his face, I can see that, he is angry but why is he angry?

'Are you okay?' I asked cupping his cheek but he jerked my hands away .

'No need of all this drama, Ruhani Jaywardhan and leave my house right now,' he shouted angrily.
