He felt her body tense, heard her heart rate spike and watched as her fingers gripped the bedding for help. Apart of him wanted to rear off of her, but if he didn’t complete his bite she would go crazy from the lack of completion. A chemical most called venom dripped into her blood stream, rushing through every fiber of her being. It would awaken parts of her she never thought she had, and kill some she would never remember.
War caught himself, her blood was sweeter than others he’d given his bite to. A very select few at that. But most had a hit of sweet, or tanga, nothing like the child who her mother called out as Siana. Like drinking honeysuckle Siana’s blood practically flowed down his throat. Hands on either side of her body kept him from falling over her, but even they began to shake with the tingling her blood was doing to his insides.
As if a million butterflies were dancing around, his connection with her grew. Her memories were to be blocked, they were her’s, but he found himself digging into her few years. Learning she had a sleeping problem to which was why he found her roaming the hall so early into the morning. Other things that amused his senses where her admiration for things a girl shouldn’t be bothered with.
Pulling fangs out, he couldn’t resisted the urge to lick the four drops that presented themselves to him. She shivered tightening her body before him. Grabbing a few blankets he draped them over her, making sure to keep from bumping on her fresh wound.
Normally a freshly bitten would’ve been confined to the damp cellar, held down with a chain to be sure they were fully under control before being released. War had decided the child wouldn’t need to be put through such dramatic hold downs. She was small and weak enough that any backfiring of the bite wouldn’t hinder him from taking care of the situation.
Turning to sit in one of the two chairs present War pulled out a knife, flipping it through his fingers as his eyes randomly glanced at her sleeping form. The first few hours would be critical, and he wanted to be near incase she awoke suddenly.
Her heart rate continuously sped up only to plummet without a second thought. Tiny beads of sweat formed over her brows, fingers fought with blankets as her body couldn’t make its mind up whether to be hot or cold. So far all was following the order.
Ever so slowly she began to settle, pushing out of his chair War grabbed a fresh rag dipping it into the cool water to clear her forehead of the sweat. Satisfied he sat back down. Light breathing was all that could be heard over the cracking of his fireplace.
Howls from deep within the treeline gave him a light smile, a hunting party had caught wind of its prey and were now in hot pursuit. Normally leading the pack he held back, more pressing matters were to be taken care of. It was also high time the youngsters learn the meaning of contributing.
For the rest of the night War watched her sleep, his fingers flipping the small blade back and forth over rough knuckles. He had wanted to be around longer, see how she would fair in her new environment, but duty of a warrior called.
Too much heat seemed to be surrounding her, it caused her legs to thrash unevenly. A cooling sensation gave way to a sigh of relief before her body began to awake. Lazily she rubbed her eyes with a drawn out yawn. Blinking sleep from tired eyes Siana sighed as she took in her surroundings, her mind was buzzing with the knowledge that she’d been taken from her home, brought to a new place and was now suddenly alone.
The fire that surely had been burning brightly was now just a pile of hot lightly glowly coals, a heavy scent of male lingered everywhere. She pondered why she new that, how she could see better than before, hear things moving outside the large wooden door that more than likely lead to a main hallway.
She pulled at the gown that didn’t belong to her, it smelled of another little girl but she couldn’t get more than that. At the looks of things the room was fairly large with two chairs seated near the fireplace, a book self off to one wall while the other housed a table. The bed she was currently sitting on was much larger than the bed she had grown accustomed to sleeping in.
Dark curtains blocked out most of the sunlight that had been peeking through the three windows surrounding her. Wooden floors stretched the length of the room, only containing one very large dark colored rug in the center.
Her feet hit the floor, they padded softly to the rug. Allowing her toes to wiggle through the soft fibers she took in her surroundings. Besides being in a strange place and having her senses on full alert, Siana realized she hadn’t a clue what they were going to do with her. Twirling a strand of already curled hair she bit her bottom lip.
Snapping her neck to the main door as a few voices permeated through cracks she crushed eyes closed to a light pain on her side. Tugging on her gown, she lifted it till her wound was visible. Slightly irritated, with just a hint of bruising had been left for viewing.
She dropped the gown back over her side, nothing more could be done. What she did know was a craving for something was brewing inside her, yet she knew not what. Taking her first real steps towards the main door, Siana halted all actions when the door opened showing off a slightly heavy set woman. She blinked at Siana.
“Oh! Your up” She closed the door, holding a bundle of what looked to be clothes.
Walking right past Siana the woman placed the bundle on a chair before turning back around to her. Smiling a bit she motioned for Siana to come forward.
“Its alright dear, were just going to get you out of that gown” Siana tilted her head, her feet slowly making their way to the woman who for some reason seemed to be safe.
Dressed in what looked like boys clothing Siana stuck her arms outward looking herself over. Wiggling her feet in the new covers, and feeling slightly out of place she looked up at the woman. She chuckled cupping her mouth.
“Yes, its not very feminine. But it will be better than a dress, you’ll see.” Folding her gown the woman handed it to her.
“Come along now” Her dress moved with her large hips, causing Siana to almost become hypnotised. Blinking rapidly she hurried after the woman before being left behind. They walked down a hall giving Siana a chance to look around. The feeling of eye upon her caused her skin to crawl.
Gripping that gown she prayed they were just her imagination. While walking the woman spoke softly, explaining where each room lead to. Surprisingly Siana remembered everything she said, taking mental notes about random facts. Stopping at one large wooden door the woman sighed.
“This is where you will sleep, you won't be alone. Others your age will be sleeping in there as well, so try to make some friends dear.” A soft pat on her head was Siana reward for nodding. Leaving her to face what was behind said door, Siana gulped grabbing a silver looking lever.
She pushed till it gave way to a room.
