📖 Chapter 1 :

The sound of the water hose being turned on outside her bedroom as the water spurts all over the window from the front yard wakes up Deva Powers .

She wasn't ready to wake up , didn't help she had stayed up half past her bed time being at least 9:00 pm .

She let herself recall it was only because her older brother Vincent was home visiting from college .

This was her final year of high school ..

she hated she got pushed back a year while growing up but her ability at not understanding reading and math gave her the label of being learning disabled !

It was great having her sibling back home .

Their parents died when they were younger , so they were raised by their Uncle Tommy .

Tommy was the best , he would be there for anybody and dependable on a dime , but if you did him wrong ..

It be payback in the worst way.

Vincent smiles seeing Deva awake with a half sized smile ..

" Good Afternoon sleepy head ! "

he teases

She just about panicks ..

" I slept in ?!

Please tell me you wrote me a note i can not afford too be late ! "

she states firmly

He cant hold back , as he belts out into loud laughter ..

" Nope , why would i write a note for you when its Saturday silly nut ! "

He remarks ..

She dives directly to his arms , and immediately hits him !

" That isn't funny ! "

she says

He knods ..

" It kinda was ! "

he says. .

Doorbell Rings. .
