THE YOUNG GIRL LOOK at Anna trying to figure out where she comes from,she suddenly gasped remembering her brother's warning and tried closing the door but Anna put her legs between the door stopping the young fellow from closing the door

"Take your leg!"the little girl cried and Anna can see she's not more than five or six years old

"Hey baby girl! I'm not here to harm you I'm a friend of your brother"she said not really sure if she can call herself Dami's friend

"He don't have female friends"the little girl said frowning and Anna can see how smart she really is

"He has one now and that's me,let me in"Anna said sweetly

"No"the girl said trying to close the door again but Anna didn't let her

"I mean no harm angel,I promise you just let me in"Anna said and the girl remain quiet for awhile thinking about letting her in and following her brother's order,he vividly told her never to let a stranger into the house,the little girl stomach suddenly grumbled and she hide her face away looking shy

"Are you hungry?"Anna asked but she chooses not to answer

"Please let me help you"Anna said starting to get tired of the girl adamant behaviours, the little girl nodded finally giving in into Anna's pressure she's a little girl and she's hungry so it's easy to get her to agree

Anna opened her school bag and brought out the sandwich she planned to eat during break period but she couldn't because she was busy inviting people for her house party

The little girl devoured the sandwich without wasting time and Anna can see how hungry she is,she picked the girl who finally succeeded trusting her and made their way inside the house

The house was very old and look poor,there was an old student bed at a side,a Ghana must go small bag she believes belong to Dami and she's sure that's where they kept their clothings,a plastic chair and that was all nothing else,no carpet no rug and she wondered where Dami's parent are

"Where are your parents?"Anna asked and the girl look at Anna like she has lost it

"Dami is the only one I got"the girl replied after awhile,Anna believed she's not going to answer but she eventually did

"Are you still hungry?"Anna asked her heart aching,she didn't believe people lived this poor,she always thought people were like her and even if people are poor but not to this extent

"Yes"the girl replied meekly and Anna got sad

"When last did you eat?"Anna asked

"I ate this morning"the girl replied

"And what's that?"Anna asked

"A slice of bread,Dami said he will bring a new bread soon"she said smiling widely and Anna's heart ache the more,she is a type to usually waste foods and don't give a fuck about it but right now she knows how wrong that act is when there are thousands of people out there that can't provide for themselves

"Do you know the way to the market?"Anna asked and the girl nodded yes

"So before we go,what's your name?"Anna asked smiling

"Rachel or Damilare"she said smiling and Anna fell in love with her

"I'm Johanna and you can call me Anna,I will be calling you sunshine"Anna said and the girl wondered why this stranger wants to call her sunshine

"Why do you want to call me sunshine?"the girl asked and Anna picked her leaving the house

"Because your smile shines brighter shaming the sun,you are a sunshine"Anna replied and the girl smiled widely,surely she don't understand what Anna said but she knew she meant well

They entered the market and Anna bought variety of foods and some wears for Rachel,the girl was so happy and couldn't stop jumping up and down,she bought themselves roasted meat and they eat along the road jollying back to the house

With the help of a teenager that helped them with all the goods they bought they succeeded going back to the house and Anna paid the young fellow

Anna was preparing to leave but was sad to leave her sunshine, she had no choice the time to go back home was near,the door suddenly opened and she turned coming face to face with Dami

Dami slowly frowned and Anna eyes traced over him,he was wearing all black making him look much more handsome and hotter,he was holding a black take away bag

"What are you doing in my house!"Dami roared and Anna got scared immediately fidgeting with the hem of her vest

"Didi!"Rachel called and came forward to hug her brother whose eyes were solely on Anna glaring hole into her head

"What did I tell you?!"Dami roared redirecting his anger on his younger sister who got scared and limped back

"She said she is your friend!"Rachel protested

"She's not my friend!"Dami roared once more and Rachel started crying out of fear

"Stop scaring the young girl for fuck sake Dami,what's wrong with you!"Anna said exasperated angry at the way Dami was acting

"You! Johanna because I don't know what you're doing in my house!"He said and turned around

Anna can see he have a little self control and gets angry really bad

"Stop being angry at me Dami,I want to be your friend and I want to help you"she said

"I don't need your help or anyone's help,I have being doing just fine"Dami said stalking her like a predator while she stepped back like a prey

"We all need help in one form or the other Dami,I know you're an independent man but please let me in let me help you,I'm willing to with all my heart"Anna said and she stopped stepping back as her back hit the wall of the house

"I'm not a charity case"Dami said standing tall in all his glories and Anna can see how powerful he looks

"You're not Dami and you will never be"Anna said quietly looking into his eyes,Anna was drawn into his eyes and she felt like kissing him,she never felt this kind of attraction towards any man before

"Then you shouldn't try helping me"Dami said in a low voice both blacked out Rachel forgetting she is in the room with them

"No Dami don't try stopping me cause I won't stop especially for my sunshine Rachel,she needs a sister figure in her life and I'm more than ready to render it"Anna said with thesame low tone like they were scared of letting someone else listen to what they were saying

Dami suddenly unexpectedly rested his forehead on Anna's forehead and heaved closing his eyes before sighing,Anna enjoyed the little contact and closed her eyes too enjoying the feelings that comes with it

"Thank you"Dami said in a low voice and Anna smiled with her eyes still closed

"I should be the one thanking you"Anna said,they heard Rachel's whimper and pull apart immediately,Dami cradled his younger sister in his hand petting her

"I got something for you"Dami said and Rachel opened her eyes

"What's that?"she asked

"Boli and tomato sauce"Dami replied and Rachel eyes shot opened smiling widely,Rachel smile was contagious because Anna found herself smiling too

"What's that?"Anna asked out of curiosity

"You haven't eaten boli before?"Dami asked and Rachel looked at her with bewilderment

"What's boli?"Anna asked furrowing her brows in confusion

"Roasted plantains"Dami replied

"No,I haven't eaten roasted plantain before"Anna replied and Rachel gasped,she can't imagine there's any being that haven't eaten roasted plantain before and it was her best food especially when served with tomato sauce

"Can I taste?"Anna asked she don't understand the looks on the two siblings face and she don't understand what's so special about roasted plantain

"Of cause sit"Dami said and went around bringing a plate,he poured the tomato sauce into it and put the boli into another plate

Anna waited for Rachel to have her bite first and she saw the little princess almost moaning as she devoured the boli and tomato sauce,she imitated Rachel too and slowly chew on the boli,her eyes almost budge out of their sockets as the sweet taste take over her taste buds,she ate and ate and can't deny roasted plantain is way better than fried plantain

"I never knew I missed this much"Anna said laughing and Rachel snickered

"It's a shame you never ate Boli"Dami said and Anna shrugged

"You should help me get this daily,I really love it"Anna said and Dami nodded

She can't believe she's eating from thesame plates as Dami and her sister and now she understands why Dami decided to collect a pay from her mom for tutoring her,the young man needed the money and she was more than willing to make her mom proud so that she can increase the pay

"I should get back"Anna said standing up hugging Rachel good bye before swinging her bag on her back

"Thanks for the foodstuffs and the clothes you bought for Rachee"Dami said and Anna picked that he calls his sister Rachee,the two siblings look alike a lot,Rachel is black skinned like Dami too and it's an undeniable fact that she will grow to become a very beautiful woman,she has a very black silky hair and Anna wondered which of their parents they take after

"It's nothing Dami,see you around and do make sure to attend my house party tomorrow"Anna said

"I'm not promising but might likely come over"Dami said and she nodded

Dami helped her to get a public transport that took her back to the school,lucky enough she met Mr Yemisi resting his back on the car and felt guilty immediately

"I'm so sorry"she said and Mr Yemisi opened his eyes to meet Anna's own

"It's fine"Mr Yemisi replied and they entered the car driving out of the school compound, Anna's mind wandered back to when she visited Dami and was more than grateful for the outcome,she believed a step have been made

Joy slumped on her bathroom floor after succeeded vomiting all she had ate,she knew no one can save her and even if Jonah tried there's a lot of darkness in her life she's not sure she can ever overcome

She tried standing up but she felt weak,another rampage of messages was sent to her again and this one's worst than the first one sent to her,she don't know why this person or people are so hellbent on making her sad,she succeeded climbing her bed and she sighed

Her phone suddenly start ringing and she took it immediately since it came from Jonah

"Hey sunflower!"Jonah called and she smiled widely at the nickname

"Hey king!"Joy joked too and Jonah laughed melodic,Joy wish she could have recorded the laughter and listen to it again and again because it sound music to her ears

"What's up with nicknames?"Jonah teased and Joy chuckled "what you doing?"

"Just laying on my bed"Joy replied

"Wanna sleep by this time?"Jonah asked looking at the clock on his room

"It doesn't matter"Joy said shrugging

"Okay.... Just wanted to hear your voice,hope you will be coming for the house party?"Jonah asked

"Sure I will,thanks for calling I appreciate"Joy said

"Welcome swii"Jonah said and the call came to an end

Joy smiled falling asleep,she knew Jonah is the perfect sleeping doze she needs because left to her after vomiting she won't be able to sleep
