JOY RUMMAGE THROUGH HER bag looking for her English note,she have an assignment she wanted to do before doing any other thing,she heaved graciously when she finally found her note

She jumped into her bed which make a creak sound with her pen between her lips,she opened to the page she wanted laying on her stomach when her door opened abruptly

"Still on your uniform?"her Nana asked and she smiled sheepishly

"I wanted to get this assignment done first"she said and her Nana nodded

"Be fast and join me in the kitchen"her Nana said leaving Joy alone to do her assignment

She was half way through it when her phone suddenly start ringing,she took the phone and the call came from an unknown ID,she picked the call and heard a masculine voice from the other side

"Joy"the voice called smoothly and for a milliseconds she thought it was Jonah but shook it off because she was sure she didn't gave her contact to Jonah and there's no way in the world he will be calling her

"Who is this?"she asked meekly trying not to offend the person

"Jonathan"the voice confirmed her suspicion and her heart skipped,fear gripped her immediately as her mind wandered to why he called her

"Can you come out I'm standing at the front of your door"Jonah said and Joy stood up immediately,all the fear that gripped her thrown out of the window as she wore her flipflop rushing out of the house

She ran to the door opening it with her heart beating erratically,she saw the handsome face of Jonah standing at the other side with his two hands on the black jogger pocket he was wearing

"You still on your uniform?"Jonah asked and snickered,Joy suddenly became self conscious feeling embarrassed,thank God she was black if not she would have been blushing like the whites

"I was on my assignment,plan to change later"Joy replied without any mishap of her words,she mentally patted herself proud about the fact she didn't waver

"You should go and change,we are going to jog"Jonah said and Joy eyes furrowed in confusion

"Why?"she wondered out loud

"I told you I'm gonna help you remember"Jonah said and Joy nodded gesturing him to come inside the house

Jonah made himself comfortable as Joy rushed inside her room changing her uniform into a multicoloured jogger and a pink jersey shirt,she went to Ruth's room and met her half asleep

"I'm going out"she said and her Nana eyes shot open immediately

"You haven't eaten"

"Don't worry I will be back soon"she said and her Nana nodded,she went back to her room taking her phone and headphone

She met Jonah sitting comfortable in the sitting room with his full attention on the television

"I'm ready"she said and Jonah stood up,she looked up to meet his face admiring the demigod standing before her

They left the house and started jogging silently when Joy decided to break the silence

"Do you do this often?"she asked and Jonah stopped

"Yeah,I love working out"Jonah answered looking at her for some time

"You haven't eaten"Jonah commented and she looked away feeling embarrassed

"I will do that when I get back home"Joy answered

"No you're doing that now"Jonah said holding her hand dragging her with him,she didn't mind him dragging her if she could have a glimpse of the sweetness that came from having contact with him,they stopped at a regular diner across the other street and went inside

"What do you wanna eat?"Jonah asked

"Anything"Joy said shrugging and Jonah stood up,he came back with pizza and two orange juice

They sat and ate comfortably with Joy eyes solely on Jonah,she wanted to believe this moment is true but it felt like she is dreaming,she smiled to herself and decided to ask Jonah a question

"I still can't imagine you and I sitting alone,why are you doing this?"she asked again

"Because I want to"Jonah replied

"Is there something else I need to know?"Joy asked because she still don't want to believe this is true

"Do you trust me?"Jonah replied her question with another question

"I don't know"Joy replied looking away and Jonah took ahold of her left hand

"Trust me Joy because I just want to help you,I mean no harm"Joy nodded at this and they ate in silence

They jogged back to Joy's house and it was time to say goodbye

"Thank you so much for today,I appreciate"Joy said and Jonah nodded

"You're always welcomed"Jonah said pulling Joy into a hug

Joy closed her eyes relishing the moment trying to master the feelings of being in Jonah's arm before he pull away,she waved him goodbye and entered the house closing the door behind,she rested her back on the door heaving and finally sighed before going back to her room

Anna woke up not looking really that great,she spent the previous night dreaming of one specific soul Dami,she became troubled thinking about the reason she is so drawn to him and she pinpointed it on the mystery behind his whereabouts and decided to start a plan on knowing more about him maybe that might help her with the sudden attachment she feels for this specific stranger

She took her bath happily remembering it's the last day of the week and she have a whole weekend to spend doing nothing but lazying around,she wore her Friday wear which is a nude vest on a black jeans trouser with a white sneakers,she rounded up fast and swung her school bag on her back leaving her room

She met her siblings busy devouring on their breakfast and she waste no time in joining them,her eyes looked tired because she waked up early in the morning to study just like the way Dami had advised

"You look tired"James pointed out and she shrugged,she was expecting to see her parents out of their room soon but she didn't see them

"Where's mom and dad?"she asked

"Tara said they left the house early traveling to a near by state for some business issues"Jonah said shrugging eating his food,this wasn't the first time their parents will travel unexpectedly without telling them

"Wow!"Anna's eyes grew wider as a mischievous thought swung around her young mind "what about house party?"she asked and James groan while Jonah shot her a glare

"No more house party Anna,the last time we did that shit you end up breaking mom's a million worth vase"Jonah said and James snickered

"Thanks to dad you would have been homeless by now"James said and Anna shot him a glare

"You better shut up James,no one is your mate here!"Anna said angrily

"No fights in the dining table and you Anna no house party!"Jonah said

"Bet you forget I have thesame right in this house as you do,we are age mates remember"Anna said glaring at Jonah

"I'm still some minutes older than you Anna and you have to respect that!"Jonah said silencing Anna,Anna couldn't do anything really because their parents have placed Jonah in the status of seniority

"Please Jonah I promise not to break anything,we are just going to play some games and that's all"Anna said and Jonah decided to let her have her way

"Two hours maxi and if you don't throw them out of the house I'm phoning mom"Jonah said and Anna eyes gleamed

"Thank you so much Jonah"she said but Jonah grumbled not really pleased with the idea of having an house party

Everyone was busy receiving classes and during break time Anna decided to tell her mates about the house party inviting them

"Do you think this is right?"Joy asked

"Why did you say so?"Anna asked

"I think we are too young for such parties and I don't want you messing around like the last time"Joy said

"Let her be Joy,you are just too old fashioned and have no taste to enjoy life,this time next year we will be writing our final exams and there will be no time to enjoy like the way we are now,you should make a memory out of this"Bisi said

"No arguement guys! Because Joy is coming either she likes it or not"Anna said and she high five with Bisi,Joy groaned going back to her seat,she really have no choice if her friends are so adamant on her attending the house party

The short day almost came to an end when Dami came over to meet Anna in her seat

"I won't be able to tutor you today,I have somewhere else to be"Dami said and Anna nodded slightly happy she don't have to go through the grumpy young man

Dami left and Anna turn to look at Desmond

"Hey! Make sure you're at my house tomorrow"she said eyeing him with almost closed eyes while Desmond snickered

"Of course ma'am I will I don't miss parties"Desmond said and something flickered into Anna's mind

"Do you know where Dami lives?"she asked curiously

"Yes,why?"Desmond questioned eyeing her warily

"Nothing really I just wanna know"she said shrugging

"Hey Anna! Whatever you're planning to do better drop it because Dami hate people invading his privacies"Desmond say

"He won't know,just show me"Anna said eagerly

"I won't"Desmond said crossing his hand when the bell suddenly rings for school over

"This is the first time I'm asking something from Desmond,please just do this for me I will be indebted to you"Anna said and Desmond can see how eager she is,he is not sure of what Anna is trying to do but he prayed it doesn't come back biting her

"Okay I will do you this favour just this once"Desmond gave in and Anna smiled widely

"I won't follow you there definitely but I will show you the house"Desmond said and Anna nodded in agreement

Anna lied to Jonah she had class with Dami and Jonah believed her leaving her alone in the school,she took a public transport with Desmond and her joy knew no bound because this is the first time she's ever going anywhere on public transport

"You're smiling widely"Desmond commented and Anna laughed

"First time on public transport and it feels so amazing"she said and Desmond rolled his eyes

"You won't find it amazing if you have to do this everyday"Desmond muttered

They stepped out of the public transport walking through a very rural area and Anna got scared

"Are you sure of where we are heading to?"Anna asked gripping Desmond hand

"Be quiet!"Desmond hushed and they walk through a very dirty and rural path,the gutter smelled so stinky with papers littered everywhere

"This is his abode"Desmond said stopping Anna abruptly,Anna eyed the building suspiciously,it was an old building that Anna doesn't believed it existed any longer

"Are you sure a human live here?"Anna asked getting scared while Desmond laughed

"Just because you're blessed doesn't mean every other human is"Desmond said turning around "I will be heading home and Anna be careful"Desmond said and Anna nodded

Anna rubbed her hand on her vest slowly before heading forward,she didn't know what she was going to expect and that scared her but it didn't stop her from moving closer,she stopped at the front of the door waiting for few seconds before knocking on the door

The door suddenly creaked open and a little girl emerge from the house looking at her discreetly

She had expected either Dami himself opening the door or his parents but the last thing she expected was a young child opening the door for her
