SHE STOOD MOTIONLESS UNABLE to talk when she heard Dami's voice again

"Can you come over? Rachee is crying and I don't want to get the neighbors involved"Dami said snapping Anna from her trance

"I will come"she said ending the call and check the time,it was few minutes to seven and she needs Jonah's help. She's not sure she will be able to return back home and she needs him to cover up for her. She stood up immediately wearing a sky blue jeans trouser on a red t-shirt she matched it up with a black head warmer leaving her room to Jonah's own

She knocked on his door gently and heard a faint 'come in'. She entered his room immediately and found Jonah laying on his back going through his phone. She sits beside him in the bed

"Hey!"she said quietly getting awkward and nervous at thesame time

"What's it?"Jonah asked sitting up and Anna get a glimpse of his phone screen. He was looking at Joy's pictures and that broke her heart

"I need your help"Anna said

"Anything for you twinnie,what's up?"he asked

"I'm leaving the house and I don't think I will be coming back today,I need you to cover up for me maybe when mom and dad comes you tell them I went to bed early,I will become back as early as possible in the morning"Anna said and Jonah look at her like she had lost it

"Where are you going that you want to spend the night outside"Jonah asked like a big brother

"It's urgent Jonah,you have to do this for me,Dami got into..."Jonah cuts her short

"Dami this! Dami that! I don't understand you,what's so special about this boy? All I see is threat,he is not good for you and now you want to sneak out of the house for him?"Jonah asked getting riled up

"I love him Jonah and that's the most important thing,he's in trouble and he needs my help"

"A night problem? His dick as rise and he needs you to help him bring it down right?, I am a boy and I know my fellow guys,you're not leaving the house"Jonah said nonchalantly and Anna felt like smacking him

"If Joy would have been alive and she needs your help,you wouldn't hesitate to help her"Anna said and Jonah close his eyes momentarily

"Don't use that against me"

"It's the truth Jonathan,please just think about yourself in this same situation. I know my morals and I know things I can't do,please Jonathan help me and whatever happens is on me please"Anna said holding her twin brother's hand

"You sure you will be safe?"Jonah asked quietly,he is not sure about letting her leave the house

"I'm with my phone and my location is working perfectly fine,I promise you I will take care of myself and also I will call you time to time,just do this for me"Anna said

"You won't ever ask this kind of favour from me for the rest of your life"Jonah said and Anna chuckled

"I promise I won't"Anna said and lean over kissing his cheek,she stood up leaving his room but Jonathan wasn't still sure about letting her go

Anna successfully reached Dami's house,she knocked on his door and the door opened revealing little Rachael. Anna's smile widen immediately carrying the little angel and went inside the house. She met Dami laying on his bed breathing heavily,she ran towards him immediately kneeling beside him. Dami was sweating profusely with his shirt stained with blood

Anna didn't say anything and leave the house,she went to a clinic and bought cotton wool,bandage and disinfectant. She doesn't know what's she's doing but she has to do whatever she can do.

She rushed back inside the house and help Dami out of his shirt,she look for a clean cloth and water and cleaned the blood,she use the disinfectant to clean the wound again with Dami slightly hissing. She covered the wound up with the cotton wool she bought and wrapped it up with a bandage

"Eaten?"she asked and Dami shook his head indicating no

She was glad immediately she bought some snacks,she offered it to him and he took few bites

"Eat some more"she said worriedly

"I'm fine"Dami said laying his head back on his pillow. Anna nodded and brought out the drugs she bought to calm down his fever. He swallowed it and in less than fifteen minutes Dami fell asleep

Dami's eyes flutter open and he tried to stand up abruptly only to groan painfully and lay back in the bed,he remembered what happened earlier and look around to see Anna watching him. Anna was sitting on the floor with her legs crossed while Rachael who fell asleep head were on her legs. Dami noticed Rachael isn't wearing her formal cloth anymore

"She said she hadn't bathed since yesterday and I did that for her"Anna said and Dami nodded. Anna helped Rachael on the floor and stood up sitting beside him in the bed

"What time is it?"Dami's hoarse voice asked

"It's past three in the morning,you slept long"Anna said and Dami nodded

"You were shot"Anna said accusingly after awhile and Dami squeeze his eyes shut "Dami I thought you have stopped!"Anna yelled

"You know why I'm doing it"

"And it doesn't worth it,your mother is dead and you can't bring her back. Don't destroy your future because of hatred,hatred is an emotional disease Dami whatever you do now doesn't change a thing"Anna said exasperated

"It changes a lot Anna! At least he will be dead too"Dami replied frowning

"Ever think about Rachee? Ever think about what will happen to her if you don't return home one day,ever think about me?! How I feel about all this?! You're selfish Damilola! You're just too selfish!"Anna said a tear sliding down her face

"Anna!"Dami said quietly sitting up "I'm sorry but this as started long ago before I knew you"

"You know it doesn't worth it"Anna whispered

"It's all I ever dreamt of,it's all I ever hoped"Dami said placing his hand behind Anna's neck and draw her closer kissing her forehead

"Thank you Anna,you show me what Francisca never did"Dami whispered and Anna felt like asking him who Francisca is but she thinks the question is for another day not now

"I don't want this type of life for you"Anna whispered again

"I know"Dami whispered too kissing her forehead again

"I want you to live like a normal teenager"Anna whispered again and Dami chuckled

"Promise me something please! Promise me you will never leave me,I know I don't worth you but please don't ever leave me,I don't know what I will do without you"Dami confessed looking vulnerable and Anna didn't have any other thinking than drawing him to herself and tell him how much he means to her

"I won't ever leave you Dami,I promise you I will always be with you through thick and thin"Anna said and Dami smiled laying on the bed again closing his eyes

"It's obvious you haven't have a single sleep,come lay with me and sleep before the sun rises"Dami said

"What about the exam,how will you write it?"Anna asked

"I will skip it"Dami said and Anna lay beside him closing her eyes,sleep took her immediately because she's already drained emotionally and physically

Anna open her eyes with Dami tapping her,she look around confused before remembering how she came over to Dami's place and spend the night with him. She sit up immediately

"I have to go"she said and Dami nodded. She took her phone and kissed sleeping Rachee on the cheek before running out of the house

She saw a taxi immediately and luckily for her the traffic wasn't hectic and arrived at the house quickly. She knocked on their gate and the gate man opened it for her,she went inside and met Jonah walking round the compound looking agitated and remembered she didn't later call him

"I'm sorry"she said and Jonah turned looking at her and scowl at her

"You promised to call me"Jonah stated angrily

"I'm sorry"Anna apologize again

"You're lucky you're here now,I was almost going to tell mom and dad you left the house,if you love yourself right now sneak into the house and get ready for school and also no more favours like this"Jonah said and Anna smiled at him,she knew how much Jonah cared about her and that soften her heart. She went closer to him kissing him in the cheek

"Thank you Jonathan, thanks for being born with me"she said walking away and Jonah chuckled,he knew before the day ends Anna will tell him how much she wished she never had a twin

It was their thing,their bickering and the love,it what makes them a twin

Anna and her siblings were well seated on the car driving them to school,she decided to go through her phone before she reaches the school. She went to her Instagram account after few scroll and saw a shocking video. Bisi's face swelled up making a video telling the world how nice her father is.

Anna snorted it was obvious it's a lie and her face alone is enough to arise questions.

"She's becoming a public figure"

Her heart skipped a bit getting worried about Bisi,the years of friendship they had is still strong to get her worried. She knew a lot was happening in her life and she also know Bisi doesn't have anyone to lean. So she decided to talk to her after the exam,at least if not for anything but for what they had in the past. It was Bisi who doesn't value friendship,she did,she do value friendship no matter how little it is.

They arrived at the school successfully and each get of the car going to their respective classes,Anna eyes landed on Bisi and she saw her going through her book not minding how ugly she looks presently. Anna's stomach churn seeing the sight. It was obvious Bisi went through series of beatings.

The supervisor entered the class sharing their script for them. The class as silent as a graveyard while everyone write their exams,the exam was harder than they all thought. They spent close to two hours in the hall everyone obviously tired before the supervisor collected the script from them.

Anna stood up stretching obviously tired,Desmond walk up to her and she smiled at him. He had being the closest being to her after Joy's incident and he had helped her a lot trying to recover and accept Joy wasn't here anymore

She suddenly look around the class trying to look for that figure she had wanted to talk to right from the moment she took her phone in the morning

"What's wrong?"Desmond asked

"I need to talk to Bisi, she's not in the class"Anna replied

"Then run along,she's definitely not far away"Desmond said and she nodded running out of the class.

She look around the school and didn't see her,then she decided to look for her outside the school compound,she open the gate out the school coming outside to meet Bisi slowly walking away,her hands on the two side of her school bag

"Bisi!"Anna called and Bisi halted

"Bisi"she called again and Bisi turn around looking surprised that Anna called her,that's the last thing she expected

"You call me?"Bisi asked still looking confused

"Yes I did,we need to talk Bisi I don't care about what's going on right now but I'm not you,I can't see you like this and let you be"

"Thanks for caring but you don't have to"

"I respect what we had and I can't will myself from caring"Anna said stepping closer to her and took her hand while Bisi tried controlling her emotions. She didn't want to break down while Anna watches

But something happened, Anna's eyes involuntarily look ahead and saw someone pointing a gun out of the car pulling the trigger and all she can do is shout

"Bisi!"
