"WHERE ARE YOU COMING from young lady?!"Anna's dad asked and she stopped breathing immediately,she met her whole family in the sitting room and that got her really scared, everyone was supposed to be sleeping how come they're awake Anna thought

"Dad!"she tried to defend herself and nothing came out of her, immediately she started crying knowing that she's in a deep trouble

"You know what is the time now?!"her father yelled at her angrily which got her much more scared,her dad rarely gets angry and when he does be ready for hell to let loose

"Who was the guy that picked you up in the middle of the night?"her dad asked venomously

"Dad I didn't go anywhere I was just just...."Anna tried to protect herself but she had nothing to say,her dad got angrier at the fact she's still lying and went closer to her giving her a resounding slap

"From now on you can't leave this house except you're going to school and you come back home directly,I will surely investigate what's going on and I will deal with you when I find out the truth"her dad said matching away angrily

"I thought I know you but it seems I don't for God's sake Johanna, you're just sixteen how can you be leaving the house in the middle of the night"Her mom said looking equally angry like her dad

"Mom it's not how it seems"Anna said felling on the floor crying bitterly

"How does it seems? Anna! How does it seems? You're leaving the house in the middle of the night to do what? Are you clubbing? Do you now how a boyfriend? Have you start having sex? After everything I thought you to be a proper woman this is how you're going to repay me?! Look at your dad! He rarely gets angry and now he is so mad at you,I thought I trusted you but I'm so heart broken to found out my only daughter is nothing but a liar!"her mom yelled at her walking away,Anna quickly crawl over to her mom stopping her from walking away by grabbing her legs

"Mom please believe me,I will never do something to disgrace you"Anna cried louder

"You already did Anna and I'm so disappointed,you have to work your way back to earn my trust"her mother reply walking away and James quickly came to kneel beside her while Jonah rub his eyes quietly seeing the scene unfold

"Anna why will you leave the house at the midnight,you know how dangerous is that and you know what you did really made dad and mom get scared"James said rubbing his sister's back

"Now I know I was wrong,I shouldn't have tried leaving the house is so bad of me"Anna said hiccuping "how did they know I left the house?"

"Well when you left,the gateman came quickly banging at the door waking us up,he told dad how you threatened him before leaving the house and he also told us he saw a young man with a car picking you up,so mom and dad got angry and went to check your room only to find out you're not there,they got scared because the time is gone and we all sat here for the past three hours waiting for you to come back and if you don't then they would have fired a complaint in the police office"James said

"Now I know how wrong I was"Anna said and James wiped away the tears in her eyes

"I don't want to know what you went out to do but it really broke mom and dad's heart please don't do this again"

"I won't,thank you so much James"Anna said trying to force a smile

"Don't force it,you're not okay and we know,so I'm going to bed see you in the morning"James said and stood up stretching before walking away

Jonah stood watching his twin sister shoulder slump and an aura of regrets floating through her,he went closer to her helping her up before guiding her back to her room and closing the door behind them

"I know I was wrong"Anna said looking away,she was scared of Jonah judging her

"Hey!"Jonah called taking her face into his palms "I'm not going to judge you because we all do something that's not right and the most important thing is regretting it and not repeating it ever again,so I think it's better you don't dwell too much on it"Jonah said and Anna felt an heavy weight lifted off her

"I thought you are going to judge me and that scared me a lot,thank you"

"You're welcome,just try to make mom and dad happy like James said,you really scared them today"

"I will"Anna replied laying down and Jonah lay beside her covering themselves up with a blanket,their back on the bed and their face facing the rotating fan and they both got into a comfortable silence before Jonah decided to break the silence

"I have a question for you"Jonah said and Anna lifted her weight on her right side with her right elbow on the bed and her palm on her cheek facing Jonah

"What's it?"Anna asked

"For example you're in a situation you're asked to choose between your boyfriend and siblings,who will you choose?"Jonah asked and Anna laughed

"What kind of silly question is that,of course I will choose my siblings,they're the most important person to me,my primary objective and a boyfriend is just a secondary,wait wait... Are you trying to cheer me up?"Anna asked

"Is it working?"Jonah asked smiling and Anna nodded

"Definitely"she said and they became quiet once more "I can't sit and let something happen to my siblings when I know I could have helped"Anna said awhile later making Jonah tense up,he didn't say a word and few minutes later he turn to look at Anna already asleep

He stood up from the bed covering Anna up with the blanket before kneeling at her side seeing her sleeping figure

"We were together right from day one,stayed in thesame stomach right from when life was breathe into us, I can't stand anything happen to you like the way you can't stand anything happen to me,it's my fault so I will take responsibility,I love you"Jonah said kissing her forehead before leaving the room his mind entirely made up

Jonah was having a bath in the bathroom while his phone kept ringing continuously,he showered up quickly to get his phone only to meet Joy on the line

"What's up?"he asked as soon as he picks the call

"I'm fine,been calling you since yesterday and you ain't picking,you didn't mind calling me back"Joy complained

"Well I was showering when you called me"

"What about yesterday?"Joy asked

"I was busy"Jonah replied and Joy gulped tears threatening to fall

"Can we see today,maybe at my house?"she asked

"I'm busy,I have somewhere to be"Jonah replied

"Please just for a minute"she begged and Jonah heart softened a little

"I will be there soon"he replied ending the call,he wiped away the escaped tears and his face hardened he already promised to burn away all the  feelings in him

He dressed up and left the house going to Joy's house,he knocked on the  gate and Joy came to get it,Joy smiled hugging him as soon as she sees him but he didn't return the hug

"What's wrong?"Joy asked

"You called me"he replied instead and Joy nodded going inside the house with him,he greeted Ruth following Joy to his room

"What's wrong with you,you have been acting weird throughout the week"Joy asked after they settled down

"What do you mean?"Jonah asked frowning and Joy swallowed

"Uhmm nothing! Uhm was was planning on telling you I spoke with my parents"Joy said trying to lift up the mood

"That's good for you"Jonah replied nonchalantly and Joy was taking back

"You don't wanna know what they said?"Joy asked

"I told you before I got somewhere to be but I made time to be here,is there something else you wanna tell me?"Jonah asked and a tear escaped Joy's eyes and she quickly wiped it off immediately

"Nothing,that's all"she replied and Jonah stood up leaving the room,she sat confused she hadn't had a fight him so she doesn't understand his mood swing,she thought he was being distance because of school activities but now she can see he was simply avoiding her

Jonah left Joy's house and sighed,he took a taxi to the city hospital and dropped when the taxi stopped at the front of the hospital,he paid the cabman and went inside the building

"Jonathan!"the receptionist called and he smiled,he is so accustomed with her that she can easily call his name whenever she sees him

"For Uche Dorcas"Jonah said and the receptionist nodded

"In her ward,we haven't seen you for awhile"The receptionist said

"Well I have been busy"Jonah replied smiling at her before going to Dorcas ward,he slowly open the door to the room and saw Dorcas still on oxygen mask,his heart felt heavy again and went to sit by her side when the door suddenly open

"Greetings ma"he greeted Dorcas' mom who smiled at him

"I thought you forgot us,I haven't seen you in a while"the elderly woman said

"Things have been hectic recently,how is her health?"he asked

"She's finally responding to treatment,she might wake up any time soon"the woman said and Jonah nodded happily a tear escaping his eyes "I will excuse you for the moment"the woman added before leaving the room for Jonah and her daughter

Jonah sat closer to Dorcas,it felt like she was sleeping but he knew better,he took a hold of her left hand and sat beside her bed

"I'm so sorry Dorcas, I know I'm the worst person you ever met and till date I regret that day and wish I could turn back time,I hate the fact I already stole a year of your life from you,I should have listened to your pleas and let you go"Jonah said wiping a tear away

"I was stupid very very stupid,I'm the most stupid person ever liveth,I thought I was having fun but I was practically destroying another person's life,I know you might never forgive me so I won't bother begging for your forgiveness,I'm just begging you to wake up,I want to see your annoying face again,see the way you frown and laugh whenever I say something you like"Jonah stopped sniffing

"You know Karma is a bitch right?"Jonah asked and chuckled dryly "I got to loose someone I love too, now I know how it feels,how you always feel and I regret ever making mockery of that,that feeling is really horrible"he dropped her hand and lean over kissing her forehead

"Just wake up please,you have to get up before we write our final exams,we need you, the class misses you and I know you will be surprised to hear this since I always drove you away,I miss you too I miss you so much I don't mind seeing you wake up at any expense"Jonah stood up and turn around seeing Dorcas' mom leaning on the door

"She will wake up I'm sure of it and I'm sure she will forgive you,you have showed to be a good boy and regretted your actions that's what matters most"Dorcas' mom said and Jonah run over to her hugging her tightly while crying on her shoulder bitterly
