ANNA WENT TO THE kitchen and met her mom preparing breakfast while Tara their househelp was busy washing plates,she sat on a stool in the kitchen after taking an apple from the fridge taking a bite

"I heard you have new students in your class, scholarship students precisely"her mom said not sparing her a glance

"Yes mom"she replied nodding even though her mom can't see her

"I was thinking of telling the principal to allow one of them to tutor you,it will be much better and easier for you to learn since they're your mates"Anna's mom said and Anna's mood went sour immediately

Anna isn't a bright student though she studies most times but her results always come out bad,her mother had employed different home teachers to help her but no changes were made

"Must the new students know that I'm dull?"she asked slightly pissed

"Sooner or later they will find out and you need all the help you can gather so that you can pass your final exams in flying colours"her mom said and Anna lost her appetite immediately

"But I'm trying mom,I try studying all the time"she replied her mom with her eyes watering

"It doesn't matter and my decision is final"her mom said succeeding in finally pissing her up,she stood up angrily throwing the apple away and matching out of the kitchen

"Woah woah woah!"Her twin brother said stopping her "what's wrong?"

"Mom plan on assigning one of the scholarship students to tutor me"she said looking like she lost her favourite person while Jonah snickered

"Are teasing me or what?"Anna asked brewing in anger

"I'm not but it's just funny,I can't believe those two new students will soon be aware of how dull your brain is"Jonah said proud of himself,Jonah is a straight A student but Anna is the other way round is not but Jonah is too cocky about it

"I don't blame you Jonah"she said shaking her head as she walk pass him going inside her room to take her school bag

Tara served their breakfast in the dining table with everyone present to eat their food before the daily routine,Anna decided to skip breakfast because of what her mom said but the woman couldn't care any less,she's a straight and uptight woman who values education a lot

"Anna you're not eating?"her dad asked while James and Jonah snickered earning a glare from their mom

"I'm not hungry"Anna replied stubbornly

"Come on and eat,you have to take something this morning"her dad say but she folded her hands across her chest and shakes her head acting like a five years old kid

"I'm not going to eat, mummy wants the new students to know I'm not that good"she said stomping like a kid trying to throw tantrums,her mother ignored her because she was sure as hell her husband will try anything to see his child happy even if it's for them not to attend school for a week which won't be acceptable

"Seriously honey?"The man asked his wife who only gives him a glare and stood up loosing her appetite too,the poor man look at his kid raising up his hand showing that he can't be of any help

Anna's father is a definition of a calm and easy going type of man who has no problem with anybody and also can spoil his children to the core but in the other way round Anna's mom is a strict type of woman who expects her children to reach her standards and expectations

They rounded up their breakfast while their mom announced that she will be driving them to school,Anna huffed and matched away to the car while her mom only shakes her head

The drive to the school was faster than normal because their mom was trying to make it early to work,they came down from the car going to their various classes except Anna whose mom have asked to follow her to the principal office

The walk to the principal office was short,they knocked on the door and the principal voice boom through the door and the mother stepped forward opening the door to the principal's office ajar,the office is decorated with different awards won by the school, the office is painted grey complementing the beauty of the office

Anna's mom have been to this office quite different numbers of time that she didn't mind taking a look at the glamorous office

"You can sit ma'am"The principal said,she is a simple woman in her mid thirties with strong belief in her religion Christianity

"Thank you"Anna's mom said in an appreciative voice sitting down while Anna stands behind her mom

"To what do I owe this pleasant visit?"the principal asked

"It's about Anna,I heard you admitted scholarship students and I know this school only admits the best,I was wondering if you can let one of them to tutor her,maybe that might awaken her brain because her final year is approaching fast"

"I thought you assigned her home teachers?"the principal said taking off her glasses

"Yes I did but no changes I'm proud of was made, that's why I suggested having someone of her mates to tutor her who knows it might help"Her mom said shrugging while the principal nods in agreement

"You hit a point there Mrs White,don't worry I will assign the very best for her and also thank you for the last donation"the principal said smiling

"Oh please Mrs Obefue,I should be the one thanking you for taking care of my kids"Anna's mom said and Anna almost scoffed instead she bites her lips drawing out blood

"Yes dear and you see me after break"The principal said and Anna nodded walking out of the office with her mom

"Mom you know all this is not necessary"

"Of course it is, everything is necessary as far it's about your education,it is necessary and please this time around try to open up your brain because I'm not paying for your final year exams twice"Anna's mom said sternly while Anna brew with anger tears threatening to spill

She matched away not telling her mom goodbye,she just can't believe her mom is so hell bent in disgracing her,then her mind drifted to her new friend Desmond "what if he is the one assigned" she groan almost punching the wall walking into her class

Her friends saw her and their face lit up immediately,they rush over to her only to see she's in a sour mood

"What happened?"Joy asked holding her left hand

"My mom"she said and the tears spilled,Sewa hug her immediately dragging her out of the class,they don't want the rest of the class to be aware of what's going on

"What happened?"Sewa asked as soon as they reached their hideout

"My mom is so hellbent in disgracing me"Anna said and started crying again,Joy patted her back and it seems she can't stop "it's not my fault my brain doesn't like anything called book,how can she go ahead trying to assign me with one of the scholarship students"Anna roared crying further,her friends understood immediately growing quiet

The truth is they do wonder why a sharp and smart looking girl have such a dull brain, Sewa is an average students,she's a straight C students a good example of mediocre in terms of education,Joy is brilliant not a straight A student but she do have As,Bs and Cs and she's okay with it but Anna is another problem she barely have a D in any of her subjects and whenever she have a C it seems like it's her birthday

"Anna calm down"Joy said after awhile,she knows how it feels when things are not like the way you want it to be,Anna was struggling with her education while she's struggling with her body so she understood perfectly

"Yeah you should listen to Joy,calm down Anna see the bright side of this situation and who knows this might surely helps"Sewa added and Anna wiped away her tears graceful to her friends,their expression screamed worry she felt guilty for making them feel so

"I'm fine now"Anna said coughing to get her voice straight

"Do you know who is assigned among the two?"Joy asked

"I don't know the principal asked me to meet her during break,I won't be having break with you guys"she replied coughing one more time

"Oh okay,there's no problem then"Sewa said shrugging

"Like Sewa said earlier you should just concentrate on the good side of this situation,I would have love to teach you but you know we will end up doing something else,please don't feel ashame"Joy said

"Thanks babes,I love you guys a very big time"Anna said smiling feeling a little better

"We love you more"Joy and Sewa said at once

"BFF!"Joy yelled

"Forever!"Anna and Sewa yelled too and they all laughed going back to their class

Break time came sooner than expected Anna groaned standing up,her friends came to her side wishing her luck she smiled not saying a word going straight to the principal office,she avoided Desmond throughout the classes because she is shy incase he ended up being the one assigned to her, deep inside her she wished he was the one assigned to her because she feels more comfortable with him and she knows they will be doing more than studying

"Come in!"she heard the principal voice across the other side after knocking on her door,she gulped sighing before entering her office,she met her wearing a pair of glasses with files on her hand

"You asked me to come during break period"she said and the principal nodded in realisation

"Yes,wait a little longer your assigned tutor will be here any time soon,sit!"the principal said and she pull one of the chairs sitting down,she was busy praying in her mind that she ends up with Desmond, suddenly she heard a knock in the door,that stiffen her when the principal shouted come in

The door opened revealing Mr Ebere and Richard,she frowns immediately and Richard's expression mirrored hers as he frowns too looking like he wasn't interested in tutoring anyone

"Here they're"the principal beamed as they took their seats after acknowledging the principal

"This is the student you requested for,I choose him because he had the highest score in the scholarship exam done previously"Mr Ebere said and Richard almost snorted but instead he kept an hard face

"Yes!"the principal said rubbing her hands together and finally removing her eye glasses "I would love you to tutor this young lady here,she's having problems with her academics and I want you to find a suitable time to tutor her,if you needs pay her parents will surely be ready to pay you"The principal said while Anna felt embarrassed,she failed to notice how Richard's eyes lightened

"Ma are you sure there will be a pay?"Richard asked while Anna's eyes shot open,she expected the guy to say he doesn't want a pay but it ended up in the other way round

"Yes young man,I spoke with her mom before you came,she's ready to pay you thirty thousand every month and if her results improves she will pay you higher"the principal replied while Anna snorted inwardly,she trust her mom to go at any level for stuffs like this,she also failed to see the hopefulness written in Richard eyes

"That will be nice ma,I won't mind taking her"Richard replied and Anna's eyes shot to his direction,this was the first time she have place her attention on his voice and it's sounds so thick, delicious and manly,she wondered how a young man like him have such voice and his use of English and tone are so rich

"Settled then,you will let her know when you have the time. Dismissed!"the principal said while they all stand up leaving her office,Mr Ebere walked away first leaving Anna with Richard

"After school will be the right time for the tutorial,I will be tutoring you for two hours,which is from four to six in the evening"Richard said nonchalantly looking down at Anna

Anna eyes glance over looking at him,his hands were on his trouser's pocket standing like he own the world,Anna glared at him thinking that he thinks he owns the world

"Why did you accept to tutor me?"she asked glaring at him but he ignored her "Answer me Richard!"Anna yelled frustratedly

"First of all you call me Dami not Richard and second my reason for teaching you is non of your business,I will see you later in the day"Dami said walking away while Anna stood shocked looking at his back as he walks majestically away,Anna didn't believe he can ever talk to her like that

No guy ever talk like that to her because they always see her as a beautiful lady,they all respect her but this one is different,he didn't care about her looks at all
