JOY AND JONAH DIDN'T talk throughout the day and the following day came,they had Mathematics and Computer science,Jonah arrived at school quite late than usual and decided to talk to Joy,he knew he's her first boyfriend and she's misunderstanding a lot of things and wanted to clarify them to her

"Joy let's talk"Jonah said while standing behind her desk,she completely ignored him partially because she wants to pull out the hard girl and mostly because her eyes had swollen out of crying throughout the night,instead of her to study she was busy crying over Jonah who was busy studying,one thing that's well known about Jonah is that he don't play with his book and don't mix any other thing with his education

"I'm talking to you Joy"Jonah said one more time after standing more than a minute

"Go away I'm reading"Joy finally choose to reply

"What's wrong with you Joy? We just had a little misunderstanding that doesn't mean you should ignore me"Jonah complained

"I said go away I'm studying"Joy repeated,Jonah opened his mouth to talk but the bell was rang and he couldn't continue,he went back to his seat and took his exam,this time around he was the one glancing severally at Joy who was purposely ignoring him,he groan and decided to focus on his exam he can't loose two things at once

"Joy! Stop!"Jonah stopped her immediately after the exam is over,Joy was going out with her friends but Jonah was tired of everything going on and didn't care about them finding out

"What's your problem?"Joy asked angrily

"We need to talk"Jonah replied in the same manner

"I have nothing to talk to you"Joy replied trying to walk away but Jonah grabbed her hand stopping her

"What's wrong with you Jonathan! Joy doesn't want to talk and what's happening here?"Anna asked and Bisi snickered like she had been expecting this to happen

"Nothing"Jonah replied calmly remembering he is taking it too far

"Then let her go"Anna said strictly and Jonah released her walking away angrily,he was tired of Joy's childish behaviour and almost leaked his secret

The bell was rang for the next exam and they all had their exam this time around,they both completely ignored each other,non of them spare eachother a look they acted like a total stranger,Joy was busy giving herself a mental reminder she is over him while Jonathan was only angry at the way she was acting

"It's obvious you have problem with your so called girlfriend,thesame girl you spent your night painting her pictures"Bisi said snickering,she went over to meet Jonah who was at the back of the school clinic trying to calm himself down

"Bisi what are you doing here?"Jonah asked tiredly with a very low voice

"You can still consider us, I'd never give you an headache"Bisi said sitting beside him

"I thought we are over this"Jonah asked,the last person he wants to talk to is Bisi and the last thing he wants to discuss about is her love for him

"We are not over anything Jonathan! I really love you,do you remember the day you kissed me?"Bisi asked

"Kissed you?"Jonathan asked,he felt like she was going crazy

" T and D at Anna's house party"Bisi reminded him

"It's just a kiss for God's sake Bisi!"Jonah replied rubbing his temples

"To you it's just a kiss but to me it meant more,please give us a chance Jonathan,I won't ask you to stop dating Joy but please give me a chance to prove myself and show you how much I love you"

"Wait! Do you really love me or my looks?"Jonah asked frowning

"We have a lot of fine boys in this school Jonathan and if it's just the look the feelings shouldn't have feel new just like the first day always"Bisi replied and Jonah chuckled dryly

"This shit Bisi! You know right? Joy is your friend and why can't you just respect the friendship and keep your feelings at bay"Jonah's voice got louder

"You are much more important than her to me"Bisi retorted

"And here she is fighting with me over you"Jonah muttered,Bisi couldn't get a grab of what he said

"I will be heading home"He said standing up

"Please!"Bisi plead wrapping her hands around Jonah

"Get off me!"Jonah said trying to push her away gently but he ended up sitting down on the chair he was previously sitting on with a thump and Bisi sitting on his laps,she use that as an opportunity and kissed him surprising Jonah

"What the hell!"this time Jonah succeeded pushing her off wiping his lips with the back of his hand "you're so desperate Bisi,what's wrong with you! And last warning this should be the last time you pull out such act!"he warned walking away

He felt so unlucky at the moment being stressed out by two women one he loves and the other who loves him,what a love triangle

"What happened earlier?"Anna asked as soon as she entered Jonah's room without knocking,he was busy removing his uniform

"What do you mean?"he asked without turning around to see Anna

"Don't play dumb with me Jonah! What's up with you and Joy! I already warned you never to hurt my friend!"Anna said angrily making Jonah to turn around to look at her with his eyes burning

"What do you all think about me huh! Why are your judgement against me so poor! I can't trust outsiders and now I can't trust you too because you believe I'm always up to no good,who told you all fine boys are players!"Jonah yelled at Anna making her to shriek,she didn't believe Jonah could just flare up like that

"I was only...."Anna tried to explain herself but Jonah cut her off

"I'm so disappointed in you and I don't wanna talk to you,get out of my room! twinnie my foot!"Jonah said angrily and Anna's shoulder slump walking sadly away from his room, Jonah and Anna do fight but Jonah had never been angry at Anna this way and she got concerned

She's not sure what happened between her brother and Joy and decided to call Joy to find out

"Hello"She says as soon as Joy picked up her phone

"What's up?!"Joy asked

"What's up with you and Jonah?"Anna asked going straight to the point

"Did he tell you anything?"Joy asked

"No,he just got angry when I asked him what's wrong"Anna replied

"Then forget it Anna,there's nothing wrong between us"

"You know it's obvious it's a lie"Anna said chuckling trying to clear up the air

"Then you should stop disturbing me"Joy replied back ending the call surprising Anna,then she knew something serious is wrong between the two,they rarely talk so how come they had issues Anna thought and decided to lay low for the main time,she didn't want to have the beat of the issue

The following day came they had Marketing and animal husbandry,the two refuse to talk non of them approached eachother and the day ended

Thursday came and they had government and Christian religious studies by the end of the exam Joy had already calm down and she wasn't angry anymore,she became scared of loosing Jonah and she thought maybe she had gone too far,her love for him was just too great that every other emotion she feels towards him her ten times worse than normal

She chew her biro afraid of going to him,she knew the following day is the last day they're coming to school for this term and they will be going on holidays,she didn't want this fight of theirs to exceed to the holidays if not they will only grew apart

"Wait!"she suddenly saw herself call and Jonah who was walking away halted and slowly turning around to meet Joy,she swallowed when she saw the frown on his face

"What's it?"he asked coldly

"I was thinking...."Jonah cut him short

"I got somewhere to be,if you got nothing to say I will just get going"Jonah said coldly

"Yeah,see you tomorrow"Joy said forgetting everything she planned on telling him,he turned around not sparing her another glance and walk away

That night Joy spent it crying and decided no matter how cold he is tomorrow she will try talking to him because she learnt from James earlier today the family will be going on a trip on Saturday and then she will not be able to see him again till resumption and she didn't want them to fight throughout the holidays

"The term successfully came to an end and by God's grace in three weeks time we will be resuming second term and I pray we all resume school in good health and steadiness"The principal said and they all shouted amen,they were currently in the hall for assembly with every one sitting on the soft chairs while the principal is standing facing the whole population

"As we all know the SS3 students will be starting their final exams next term and we all pray for success like the way we always excel in every exams"the principal prays and they shouted amen once more "when they succeed passing out of the school as per norms the school posts will be passed down to the SS2 students as an acting perfects so I recommend you all SS2 students to act well because we all have eyes on you and lastly your results will be posted on your emails in two weeks time"The principal ended and they all clapped

The assembly ended with them praying and saying the school pledge before they all disperse heading to their various home to enjoy the holiday

"I won't be following you home today"Anna told James and Jonah and they nodded

"See you at home"Jonah replied turning walking away while James run over to meet one of his friends

"Hi"Joy said meekly and Jonah turn around to meet her standing

"I was about looking for you"Jonah replied and Joy's heart skipped but the coldness in him was still present very much in the surface

"I'm here"Joy said trying to smile which ended up in grimace

"This is for you"Jonah said handing her a sheet of paper "I promise I was going to help you get back with your family so I have their home contact in that paper and you can talk to them with that"Jonah said turning around

"Jonah wait!"Joy called and he halted "thank you I appreciate"she said breathing hard trying to calm her hammering heart

"Can we talk?"She asked quietly,Jonah almost missed what she said

"We have nothing to talk about Joy,you made that clear and I have nothing to talk to you"Jonah replied stubbornly

"Please"Joy plead getting scared,she felt a pang of pain in her chest and she never knew Jonah's rejection can hurt her like this

"Go and reflect on yourself,we will see when school resumes"Jonah said

"Please"Joy plead a tear escaping her eyes "don't break up with me"

"Come here"Jonah said dragging her closer and gave her a simple kiss on her lips "I'm not breaking up with you Joy and I don't think I'm ever capable of doing that but right now I'm so angry with you and we need time apart to clear up our minds hmm? I love you so don't cry I hate seeing you cry"he wiped away an escaped lone tear from her eyes

"Ok then we will see and talk when school resumes"Joy replied and Jonah walked away
