"I CAN EXPLAIN"DESMOND said again looking really terrified

"Explain what Desmond?! And you too John I thought you were an holy person that's why you always stay away from girls"Anna said walking up and down not able to stay put

"I told you doing this in school is a bad idea"John muttered

"Let's talk in private,we should leave John out of this"Desmond said pleading with his eyes and hand,Anna look between the two and nodded yes atleast as her friend she have to listen to whatever he has to say

"We will talk later John"Desmond said to John who nodded and look at Anna for awhile

"Just pray he can convince me with whatever he has to say"Anna said glaring at John who nodded adjusting his uniform before leaving the class

"I thought you were crushing on me Desmond or are you bi?"Anna asked and slowly Desmond fearful gaze change into a loud feast of laughter

"I wasn't crushing on you, I don't crush on girls"Desmond said answering Anna's question,he is truly a gay

"Wow I thought you were because of the way you do,you know always after me or what I can't really explain it"Anna said finally calming down and eager to know Desmond story and the reason he chooses men over women

"I'm just a friendly person that's it,Anna I'm sorry you got to find out this way my sexuality is always questioned in this society we live in and I can't risk loosing things I'm working for"Desmond said looking down at Anna who nodded not feeling angry anymore

"When did you discovered you were into men?"Anna asked and Desmond sat on a random seat in the front of the class while Anna sat on it's desk

"When I was fifteen I think"Desmond replied and Anna frown

"How old are you now?"She asked

"I'm seventeen,I found out two years ago through truth and dare,I always admire guys physic when I was younger but I thought it was normal only normal adoration but everything changed when I was asked to kiss Chris my classmate in my formal school,the kiss was normal when I did it till I got home in the night and I couldn't sleep all I was thinking about was Chris,I was also happy later to found out he was gay too and he was my first boyfriend"Desmond said smiling

"Wow! That goes a long way back what happened to you and Chris?"Anna asked placing her chin in her palm

"We broke up when he told me his sexuality had change,he fell in love with a beautiful girl"Desmond replied shrugging and Anna can feel it in his eyes he was still pained

"Is that why you and Dami never got along?"Anna decided to ask because it was obvious Desmond and Dami had a past but she never had enough courage to ask till now

"No Dami doesn't know I'm gay and I want it to remain so,our problem is something else"

"Can you tell me about it?"Anna asked feeling the urge to know the problem her boyfriend have with Desmond

"Not now I will tell you next time but please keep my sexuality a secret,we are friends and I trust you and I'm glad about the way you took it,you didn't shout at me or look at me with disdain"Desmond said and Anna smiled shyly

"I'm not the type to judge people Desmond,I understand the way you're and I hope you come out of the hidings soon but the country we liveth we just have you killed"She said and they both bursted out laughing "hope you will tell me about Dami and you later,we just started dating today"Anna said feeling the need to tell Desmond about Dami since he told her about him being gay

"You're what?!"Desmond asked looking angry and slowly his anger change to fear

"No no no Dami is not good for you,he should be the last person you should consider"

"And now I don't like that,I didn't say your sexuality is bad and whatever you had with Dami doesn't determine my relationship with him"Anna said frowning

"I'm sorry but I hope you look more into this first"

"I have"Anna replied in a dismissive voice showing end of discussion, Desmond stood up taking his school bag and Anna decided to do that too

They left the school compound talking about random things making sure to stay clear away off  Dami's topic

Anna arrived home and met her mom at home,she got scared and went over to greet her

"You weren't in school when Mr Yemisi came"her mother said strictly and she quickly knelt on the floor

"I was in school ma'am I was only in the library reading after my tutoring ended earlier and I forget to come outside to meet Mr Yemisi"she lied

"I heard your test result is out?"her mother asked eyeing her warily and she smiled knowingly pulling out her script from her bag and showing it to her mom,her mother took the test from her going through and slowly she stood up from the floor

"It seem this student is good at tutoring you"her mother said handing her script back

"Yes mom his tutoring is quite different"Anna replied and her mom nodded

"Congratulations dear more of good result"her mom said smiling at her, something she had never done for awhile Anna got drunk in happiness and hug her mom who ended up laughing and patting her back before she went back to her room

Morning came earlier than they all expected and was back in school again,Anna saw Dami along the hall who pull her closer giving her a kiss which ended up racing Anna's heart not out of desire but out of fear of being caught

"You shouldn't do this on hallways"Anna said frowning

"I can kiss my girl anywhere I want"Dami said walking away while Anna shook her head smiling,she went to class receiving her first three classes before the bell was rang for break

"We should head to the cafeteria"Bisi said coming over to meet Anna who nodded piling her books into her bag,Joy joined them soon after and they headed out for the cafeteria

Bisi ordered fries,Anna ordered jollof rice and Joy ordered only chivita

"Ain't you going to eat?"Anna asked Joy worriedly,she have been unusual quiet

"I'm not hungry"

"Oh cut me the crap!"Anna said rolling her eyes while Bisi placed her hands on top of hers

"Let her be"Bisi said and they all grew silence taking what they bought slowly

"I'm in a relationship"Anna said suddenly and Joy spatted out the juice in her mouth,she thought she was the one that said that out loud

"In relationship?"Bisi asked Anna looking surprised and slowly Joy heaved graciously she wasn't the one that said that out loud

"Yes with Dami,we started dating yesterday"Anna said smiling widely

"Why am I just knowing about something apart from tutoring going between you and Dami?"Bisi asked narrowing her eyes

"Oh I'm sorry dear but I told you now I'm in relationship with him so I'm sorry"Anna said not looking sorry but Bisi nodded accepting her plea

"You haven't say a thing Joy?"Anna asked and Joy chuckled nervously

"Congratulations Anna! Seriously I'm just short of words, finally my best friend is in a relationship"Joy said giving Anna a teasing smile who laughed smacking Joy on her back

"You should really introduce us to your boyfriend,we need to talk to him"Bisi said

"Surely I will"Anna replied and they all became silent eating their lunch

The bell was rang for break over and Joy pull out her phone texting Jonah to meet her at the school old lab where they normally meet,she excuse herself from the midst of her friend going to the lab not long enough Jonathan showed up smiling,he tried to wrap his hands around Joy but she stepped back stopping him from doing so

"What's wrong?"Jonah asked placing his hand on the side pocket of his royal blue pant

"Everything Jonathan! I can't keep on keeping secrets from my friends when they tell me everything"Joy said looking nervous with her hand busy shaking

"I told you before to calm down they will know at the right time"Jonah answers looking tired

"When is the right time huh?! When is the fucking right time!"Joy shouted looking devastated and Jonah could see there is something else wrong with her,she didn't get this unusually angry

"What's wrong with you Joy? Why are you shaking terrible?"Jonah asked trying to step forward but Joy stepped backward

"I'm not shaking Jonah just answer my question! If you don't want this just tell me then we will go on our separate ways forgetting everything ever happened"Joy said with her eyes getting blur but she tried remaining conscious

"Joy what's wrong with you!"Jonah shouted out of fear as Joy eyes started changing to white and before he knew it Joy was falling down unconsciously,Jonah grab her immediately carrying her in a bridal style as she became unconscious

He ran with her to the school clinic,he started panicking and shaking out of fear when the school nurses took Joy from him,he pulled out his phone from his pocket texting Anna about Joy's condition and in less than five minutes Bisi and Anna were already at the school clinic

"What happened?"Anna asked looking scared

"I don't know she fainted!"Jonah said looking scared too

They sat outside the clinic for like twenty minutes before the nurse asked them to come in,they went inside and met Joy laying on the bed closing her eyes shut

"What happened Joy?"Anna asked running over to sit beside her in the bed

"She haven't been feeding well"the nurse replied instead and their heart all grew heavy

"Why ain't you eating well?"Anna asked and Joy bursted out in tears

"You can talk to us Rejoice"Bisi said and Joy shook her head dismissively

Jonah was tired of pretending and he thinks showing a one time care can't give out he is dating Joy,he went closer to her wrapping her in a hug and kissing her forehead,Joy bursted out into more tears crying uncontrollable and they all let her cry,they let her let out her frustration

Ruth Joy's Nana suddenly came inside the Clinic,she look angry and her eyes landed on Joy giving her a scorn, Joy look around confused of who called her Nana

"It's the school policy to call the students guidance when there is something wrong"One of the nurse said excusing them

"And now can you tell me how come they said you haven't been feeding well when I always see you eat?"Her Nana asked looking really angry but Joy kept quiet looking away

"Will you answer me Rejoice!"Her Nana yelled

"I owe you no explanation with what I do with my life! Everyone should leave me alone just let me be!"Joy shouted crying,she stood up and ran away from the clinic

"Joy come back here!"her Nana yelled after her but she refused to listen running away from everyone who cared about her
