Long awaited last chapter is here :')
Also I'm sorry but when all nine of them are together my crackheadedness just bursts out
~~~~
Seungmin sighed dejectedly as he slowly made his way to the old detention room, feet trailing further behind with each step, he'd not long finished his first week of detention and now he was right back here, waiting for the teacher (he hoped it wasn't the grumpy old croon that looked like a crow that had aged seventy years in a day). Maybe this detention would be different? After all he wouldn't be alone he'd have his boyfriend. Boyfriend, the word still sounded unfamiliar as it bounced back and forth in his mind, he whispered it quietly, his cheeks tinging pink and his eyes scrunching up in delight as he whispered it a few more times, the unfamiliarity being replaced by the warm fuzzy feeling of that happy flame that tickled the insides of his stomach.
He felt the aforementioned flame die down and become replaced with embarrassment when he felt a pair of arms snake around his waist and a chin placing itself on his shoulder, Hyunjin's warmth breath tickled his neck as he smugly whispered, "someone's happy."
Seungmin turned around in the boys arms and wrapped his own around Hyunjin's neck, placing a gentle kiss on his cheek before resting his head in the crevice where his neck met his shoulder. "Shut up," he huffed happily, burying his head further into the warmth with a smile when he heard Hyunjin's quiet snickering.
A voice behind them cleared its gravely throat, a disgusting crack of phlegm being the sound to pull the boys apart and stare at the teacher, Seungmin's wish didn't come true because the old man was stood behind them, a snarl of impatience present in his voice as he unlocked the classroom and shooed the boys in, repeating his usual chorus of rules and regulations that neither teen paid any attention to as they sat down and threw their bags down beside them, their hands immediately finding each other and interlocking tightly under the desk.
A very slow hour later filled with hushed giggles about the small pool of dribble situated under the mouth of the old teacher (obviously passed out from a tiring day of dealing with high schoolers); a cute compliment war that left one another flushed and smiling brightly; and a few sneaky kisses to the cheek and one 'accidental' one on the corner of Seungmin's lips by Hyunjin who did it solely for the priceless reaction of Seungmin's ears flushing a deep red and him gently hitting Hyunjin while he buried his face into the latter's neck; and the two of them fled the school grounds like there was a pack of wild hellhounds chasing after them.
They walked in the direction of Seungmin's house, he'd already made arrangements with his mother to let Hyunjin stay for a while. She confirmed her feeling from a few weeks back that there was some sort of unhealthy environment that the boy lived in or else Seungmin would not have bursted into her bedroom at eleven at night and stood his ground demanding that Hyunjin stay at least until the school year ended, the other boy sheepishly standing behind him and fussing over being a burden, earning him an 'angry glare' which really looked like an adorable puppy pouting, from Seungmin who stormed over to him and unashamedly kissed him on the cheek (Hyunjin burning a deep red) and told him, "Jinnie what did I say about you never being a burden? I'd throw myself into a pit of fire for you." Seungmin's mother agreed on him staying, simply because she was half asleep and wasn't really listening to what her son was saying and instead thinking about how long it would be until she passed out from exhaustion. She didn't mind though, she would do anything to make her children happy.
"What do you want for dinner bub?" Hyunjin turned to Seungmin, slipping his hand into the smaller boys palm and bringing the back of his hand to his lips to place a gentle kiss to it. Seungmin's cheeks became dusted with a pink hue, his eyes crinkling as he whispered, "you're so cheesy." He thought for a moment, mainly about chicken, and opened his mouth to reply when his phone started vibrating from his pocket. He whipped it out and swiped on the answer call button, Jisung shouting at the background noise to subside as he greeted Seungmin;
"Yo, I know you're with Hyunjin right now so why don't you guys come over? Everyone's here and were playing Mario Kart."
Seungmin turned to his boyfriend, not needing to ask any questions when Hyunjin just nodded and shrugged, silently notifying that he didn't care what they did as long as they were with each other, so they crossed the road and continued down a street until they were approaching the large house, front door wide open and seven teenage boys all screaming very loudly at each other from inside.
"Its about fling flangin' time you guys got here! You took too long canoodling in a bush or something!" Jeongin exclaimed, twisting his head similar to an owl, towards the boys walking into the mess of a living room, quickly letting out a shrill screech as he got hit by a shell in the midst of the clusterfuck. "Yang Jeongin you do not use that kind of language!" Chan scolded, although not too sternly since he pulled the boy into his lap afterwards, wrapping his arms around his waist and resting his cheek on the youngers back, "sorry Channie," he said, leaning into the others chest and planting a quick peck on his cheek.
Seungmin took Hyunjin's hand and lead him to the couches, sitting on the only vacant spot available, the floor. They sat down and Hyunjin slung his arm over Seungmin's shoulders, pulling him in closer as Seungmin rested his head on Hyunjin's shoulder and intertwined their hands to a more comfortable position, becoming transfixed with playing with his boyfriends fingers.
Shortly afterwards the game had ended, with Felix dabbing rapidly and Jeongin shouting loudly while (lightly) hitting Jisung who sat with his hands up, shrieking as the tiny terrifying boy attacked him in his helpless state, calling for Minho to help him. After the little attack fest calmed down and Jeongin had stopped literally growling, all the attention was directed at the two on the floor. "How long have you two been in kahoots?" Felix asked, cautiously eyeing Hyunjin, still not fully trusting him.
"Friday," Seungmin beamed happily, earning a kiss on the cheek and a cute chuckle from the boy next to him, in return Hyunjin got smacked on the knee by a very red faced and pouty Seungmin.
"Friday?! And you didn't tell us? Snake!" Gasped Jisung in fake offence. Minho nodding his head in agreement as he crossed his arms and tsked, pointing between Changbin and Felix on the couch opposite them, "now its just these two we're waiting for, mutual pining is stupid, just walk up and be like 'hey cutie, you're cute let's date okay thanks babe bye,' its how I got Jisung!" He exclaimed confusedly.
"Well that's not how you said it, you said 'lix you're so cute blah blah sappy cute things about my freckles blah blah let's go out on a date tonight,' right binnie?" Felix grinned at Changbin who flushed a deep shade of crimson and buried his head in the pillow that was wrapped in his arms tightly his arms as he nodded, "yes sweetheart, that's exactly what I said," Changbin huffed into the pillow. The sound coming out muffled and distorted due to, well the pillow.
The room fell silent and the the hair on Felix neck stood up in fear of his friends hating him (for what ever reason). The silence caused Changbin skin to crawl and the two awkwardly shifted under everyone gaze.
"I didnt even know you two were close to being in kahoots!" Jisung blubbered, his nostrils flaring wildly while he flailed his arms.
"I'm abso-hecking-lutely flabbergasted, how long have you been up to this tomfoolery lads?" Jeongin wheezed as he miraculously pulled a pair of detective glasses and a fedora from his back pocket, shortly mumbling "you have no idea how long that's been in there."
"Wow now I'm like a ninth wheel," Woojin huffed sadly, "it just doesn't work I'll be making us spin in circles like a brain dead dog trying to eat its own ass."
Everyone broke out into cackles at Woojin's words and offered him reassuring words.
"Well you have chicken!" Felix's eyes light up at the word.
"Didn't you say you thought that Taeil guy was cute? He's like a 14th wheel or something!" Chan encouraged.
"You could always bang the math teacher that made you hard eh?" Hyunjin winked, nudging his arm into the air.
"I regret ever meeting you."
"No you dont."
"No I don't." He sighed.
The nine of them continued to take turns in playing different games, not paying any attention to the rushing going on behind them. Soon Jisung's mother was rushing over to her son and placing a kiss on his forehead, the boy huffing and brushing her off, then she placed her hand on Minho's shoulder and gave him a happy nod of acknowledgement, "I have to leave again but I'll be home next week sometime and I promise we'll go out so I can get better acquainted with Minho!" And like that she was out the door and back into her car, leaving her son for the umpteenth time since he was thirteen.
Since it was a school night they all decided they'd had enough and made their way home, Chan driving himself and Jeongin, Changbin walking Felix to his house before he went to his own; Minho helping his still slightly crippled boyfriend up the stairs for bed and Seungmin and Hyunjin walking hand in hand towards his house. They opened the door, greeted Seungmin's mother and hopped up the stairs happily, quickly changing into more comfortable clothes and diving into the large double bed together, immediately tangling their legs and wrapping their arms around each other.
"Do you know why I call you sunshine?" Hyunjin asked Seungmin randomly in the silence after a while. The younger boy shook his head and looked up at Hyunjin.
"I call you sunshine because before I properly met you I was alone in the dark, sure I had a few candles to help me along the way but I was wandering aimlessly and only able to see what I was doing at the time and never thought about what I would do in ten minutes or in ten days or even ten years. Then I finally got an hour with you and it wasn't enough so I purposely made you angry, do you remember? I made you yell and get mad just so we could have at least another hour together but we got the rest of the week. I drew on that seniors locker because I knew you'd get in trouble and I tried so hard to get more detentions but it didn't work so you endured them alone and I'm sorry about that. Then that day when you wanted me to teach you how to be bad. You were so cute and awkward that day, you don't understand how badly I wanted to kiss you when I helped you up but it was too soon, I liked you a lot but you still hated me, then I took you to that old building and you were scared someone was going to hurt us because they was signs of someone that used to live there but I knew it was safe because it was me that stayed up there. Every now and then when it would get to much and I felt bad for going to Woojin or one of the others I'd go there for a few days. And then in the cupboard it was too much and I couldn't last any longer, I had to kiss you and I did. It was honestly amazing and I loved how flustered you got afterwards. That day my darkness became so much brighter, I could see so much and the colour started to come back. When I stayed at your house and told you about everything you were so kind to me, you treated me so sweetly and I knew I could trust you with my life. I've been so happy since we started talking and you've brightened my world so so much Minnie. You're my sunshine, my world, the light of my life and all that other sappy crap and I'm really thankful for you," he spoke quietly, voice wavering and cracking every now and then. Seungmin didn't speak, he let Hyunjin talk and listened to every word intently and before he knew it he had silent tears streaming down his cheeks as he looked up at his boyfriend from his position beside him.
Seungmin lifted his head, interlocking their lips in a gentle, innocent kiss, Hyunjin tasted sweet like cinnamon and vanilla but was soon mixed with the salty taste of the tears falling from both boys eyes. Hyunjin's finger tips sparked with electricity as he trailed his hands onto the nape of his boyfriends neck, pulling away for air and smiling from pure joy. Seungmin rested his forehead on his boyfriends and placed a soft kiss on Hyunjin's lips, "I love you Jinnie," he breathed out.
"You'll never know how much more I love you sunshine," Hyunjin smiled, wrapping his arms around Seungmin in a warm embrace.
