THANK YOU FOR 10K READS :D!!

The boys finished their drinks and neatly pushed everything into a pile, waving goodbye to the grumpy woman followed by a mantra of 'thank yous' and the soft jingle of the bell bolted at the top of the door they walked out of. They walked a little more, hands still interlocked as they turned a corner, now entering the more business-y side of town where a few buildings (industrial, business and recreational) were being used. Cars pulled out of parking garages and off the side of the street, most people leaving their dreaded jobs for the weekend to go home to their families, multiple pets or an empty house.
A few more people glared and scoffed at their hands, one mother even went as far as to shield her child's eyes and, rather loudly, whisper something about how its 'disgustingly wrong', it would be horrible if that child grew up to be gay. Seungmin loosened his grip a little, trying to pull his hand away discreetly only to have Hyunjin relink them and pull Seungmin closer to him, shooting the lady a sarcastic smile as they continued walking.
It was Hyunjin whose eyes searched every building, looking for something they could do before he stopped walking and pointed over to a large grey building with a large, light blue, neon sign of a pair of ice skates. He bounced excitedly on the balls of his feet, eyes lighting up as he struggled to get words out due to his excitement, "sunshine, please can we? I haven't been ice skating in years, please, please, please?" Seungmin chuckled at his antics and nodded hesitantly, the action not going unnoticed by Hyunjin as he stopped jumping slightly and smiled at the other boy, "we don't have to if you don't wan-"
"No, no! I want to but," Seungmin interrupted, pausing for a bit to look warily at the building then shyly down to the ground before mumbling out, "I've never been skating before so I don't know how to do it."
Hyunjin hooked his finger under Seungmin's chin and pushed upwards causing the boys to make eye contact, he pressed their lips together, smiling for a second before pulling away and placing a kiss on his forehead, "that's okay sunshine I'll be there you won't get hurt too badly," he giggled as he dragged the two into the building despite Seungmin's gasp and soft hits to the shoulder as he yelped, "hey you're meant to say I won't get hurt at all!"
Hyunjin giggled again as he walked up to the large counter handing over the respected amount of money for two students and telling the worker his shoe size, the worker turned to face Seungmin who distractedly answered, worrying his bottom lip between his teeth and wringing his hands together, eyes trained on the children and adults skating around the icy rink. The worker smirked a little, "never skated before?" He took the shaky nod as an indication to continue, "don't worry kid, beginners don't get hurt too much except for those few that slipped and broke their spines. They're paralyzed now but its okay I'm sure that won't happen to you," he tsked, leaning over the counter and 'reassuringly' patting Seungmin's shoulder.
The latter's eyes widened as they shot to look at Hyunjin who was glaring at the worker, "can you just get our shoes please?" He turned around and embraced Seungmin, taking note of the glossiness that layered itself over his eyes as he looked up worriedly. Hyunjin squeezed his arms tighter to console the boy, "sunshine its okay he's just trying to scare you, if people became paraplegics this place would be shut down okay?" He smiled when Seungmin nodded and gripped at his hand, reaching over and grabbing his skates from the employee who was still chuckling at himself.
The two boys walked over to a small table and sat down, replacing the sneakers they wore with the sharp, knife-like ice shoes. Seungmin stood up shakily, knuckles turning white from the forceful grip he had on the table as he waited for Hyunjin to finish taking the safety cap of the steel rods at the bottom of his shoes and stand with him. Hyunjin wrapped his arm around Seungmin's waist, noticing the unsteadiness in his steps towards the rink. Hyunjin stepped in over the little divider, holding his hand out for Seungmin to take, Seungmin gripped onto his hand, the other not leaving the hard wooden banister as he stepped over the barrier, almost slipping once he'd gotten onto the ice.
He stared over at Hyunjin, amazement written on his face as he tried once more not to slip over, "how are you keeping such good balance?" Hyunjin shrugged in response, a large grin planted on his face as he helped Seungmin regain his balance, again.
Hyunjin turned to the boy once they were both steady, "ice skating is kinda like roller skating but a little harder because its more slippery," he smiled, to which Seungmin looked away bashfully and grumbled out, "I've never roller skated either." Hyunjin stared at him, the disbelieving expression and exasperated noises coming from him making Seungmin uneasy before he quickly piped up again, "I've watched yuri on ice does that count?" Hyunjin looked away and bit his knuckle to stop himself from laughing, he wrapped Seungmin and a small embrace and whispered, "you're actually so cute holy shit." Despite the loud cheesy music Seungmin still heard what he had said, he lightly pushed Hyunjin off of him and turned his head, the angry blush on his cheeks spreading all the way to his ears, with the amount of heat radiating from him he could probably melt the hard ice beneath him which made Hyunjin chuckle softly.
Seungmin watched Hyunjin's movements as he took a step and weirdly pushed off, gliding ahead of him on the ice, he did a cute little turn once he was a few metres away and held his arms out, "try skate over to me. Just, push off?" He said cautiously. Seungmin nodded and took a deep breath, eyes trained on the ground as he repeated Hyunjin's actions. He made it a few centimetres before he stumbled and got scared, his legs slipping out in front of him as he fell to his ass and groaned. Hyunjin quickly skating over to help him stand up. Seungmin dusted off his shirt and huffed, "I can do it, go back over there," he said, pointing over to where Hyunjin previously stood.
The latter nervously followed his request and stood a little closer than last time. Seungmin tried five more times, falling hard each time, he was sure he had bruises on his knees and had jarred his spine which only scared him but the fear fueled his determination and he got up and gave it one last go. He pushed off the banister and slid his left foot behind him, the scraping sound of the ice sending chills up his spine as he pushed off with his right foot he looked up in shock, happiness spreading through him as he glided over to where Hyunjin was, the latter wrapping his arms around Seungmin's waist and showering his face in kisses proudly, lifting him slightly in the air, the two getting strange looks from the people around them. Hyunjin put Seungmin down and pecked his cheek, grinning excitedly when he pulled away, "you did great! I'm proud of you sunshine!" Seungmin giggled as he stepped back, eyes crinkled into cute crescents and nose scrunched up in pretend annoyance while Hyunjin continued to pepper his face in small kisses.
They skated around for a while, talking quietly and laughing loudly every time one of them fell over, Hyunjin attempted to skate backwards like one of the professionals training in the middle but miserably failed when he ran into a little girl and accidentally knocked the two over, the little girls cries being the only thing heard over the mother who was currently scolding Hyunjin, who was trying his hardest to contain his laughter once he saw Seungmin slip over from laughing too much. Hyunjin got up off the cold floor and skated over to where Seungmin was in the midst of standing up, almost in tears as he wheezed, "how did you run into her? Did you not see where you were going?"
"Really? Babe I don't have eyes in the back of my head!" He laughed, the two of them freezing once they realised what he'd said. Seungmin shoved his face into Hyunjin's chest whining out as he slapped the tallers shoulder, "d-dont do that!" Hyunjin snaked his arms around Seungmin's torso and kissed the crown of his head, lips staying there as he apologised, "I'm sorry for what I did the other day Minnie, I really didn't mean it. Do you forgive me?" Seungmin nodded his head in response, still too embarrassed by the bright red on his cheeks to look up so Hyunjin took advantage of that and asked his next question, "do you want to go out with me?"
Hyunjin froze and felt his heart drop to the floor when he felt Seungmin's head shake against his chest as he whispered a small "no".
