(Serena)

I had a long dinner last night with Darrin and Lillie. Talking about my past which was really hard for me. Since Team Shadow killed my father, My life has been really hard but Darrin has been there for me, he is caring, compassionate and kind, always looking out for me. That's what attracts me to him and he is cute at the same time. He was there when I winded up in the hospital. I got a new look as well, I feel a lot more confident and stronger thanks to Darrin for helping me get there. I slowly wake up and get out of my bed. I pull my journal out from under my bed. I open it to the first day I met Darrin.

January 10th

Dear: Diary

I met this amazing guy Darrin today, he was really cute and very helpful. Even though I am the one that helped him. We have like almost all the same classes in school. Which is really awesome. I feel weird around Darrin though, I blush when he comments about the way I look. I am not sure what else I think about him.

Diary end of entry.

I get dressed in the clothes my Mom brought me and I go downstairs, I hear some people talking. I stop midway down the stairs, I try to be as quite as possible. I hear them say something.

"Where is your daughter Serena Yvonne." I hear a female voice.

I slowly walk back to my room and hide behind my bedroom door.

"I am not telling you, Mable." My Mom yells.

"I thought I heard someone, never mind. I will just have to take you then. Your daughter will come trying to find her poor little Mother." Mable laughs evilly.

"My daughter will never give up." Grace yells.

Mable pulls Grace out the door and the door slams closed. I hear a car Engine start, I hear it until the sound disappears. I grab my pokeball and let Eevee out.

"Eevee, Eevee." She looks up at me.

"I am ok Eevee but they took my Mom." I drop down to the floor crying. Eevee sits down beside me trying to calm me down.

I walk downstairs to the kitchen, Eevee follows after me. I look around the kitchen to see if they left a note. Eevee walks over to the corner of the room and pulls a paper up with its mouth. It walks over to me.

"Thanks, Eevee." I pat her on the head.

"Eevee, eevee." It calls.

I pick up the paper and turn it over.

Dear: Serena Yvonne

If you want to see your Mom ever again, please turn yourself in. We have been looking for you for a long time, now that your power has been awakened. If you don't comply we will be taking your boyfriend Darrin as well. Hope to see you soon.

Team Shadow

The paper falls to the floor. I feel like my heart is going to brake. I can't lose Darrin to, he is the only other family I have left. I pull my phone out of my pocket and dial his number.

"Hi Serena" He says.

"Hi Darrin, my Mom got kidnaped by Team Shadow." I feel tears running down my face.

"That's terrible, I will be right over." He sounds down.

"Thanks." I close the phone and put it back in my pocket.

"Ready for some training Eevee?" I ask trying to keep my mind busy.

"Eevee, Eevee." She replies.

I walk outside with Eevee into the backyard. Ok let me see what moves you can do. I pull the Pokedex out, hm it says you can use swift, baby doll eyes which is a fairy type move which lowers the attack power of a opposing Pokémon, I remembered Darrin had Eevee use dig and shadow ball as well.

"Ok Eevee use swift." I command.

It starts to use the attack three shaped gold stars appear and Eevee let's the attack go but it fizzles out.

"Hey Serena, doing some training I see."

"Oh hi Darrin, not very good training." I reply as I see him walk up to me. The minute he comes beside me I intertwine his fingers with mine.

"How are you doing?" He asks with a tear coming down his face.

"I could be better, I don't know why Team Shadow had to take my Mom." I feel tear falling from my face, I can't look him in the eyes. I rest my head on his shoulder.

"There, there Serena. It will be ok, I will help you get your Mom back." He tries to calm be down.

"It's not, they said I have to turn myself in or they will take you." I cry harder, my eyes must be red from all the crying.

"There has to be something else we can do?" He brings me into a loving hug.

"There is not, I have to hand myself over. I can't lose you and my Mom." Why does my heart feels like it is going shatter into a million pieces.

"That is not going to happen. Don't talk like that." He looks grim.

Darrin supports me so much, I just wish this had never happened. I can't get him involved, because my powers came up since he loved me so much. This is why I am cursed, if I love anyone I might lose them.

"You ok Serena?" He sounds worried.

"Yeah, sorry I was just thinking." I blush.

"Eevee return." I call, she disappears into the pokeball. We both head back into the house.

"Any leads where you think they took your Mom Serena?" He asks trying to brighten the mood.

"I think Lysander labs in Lumiose City. Would be most likely that's who killed my father." I don't feel comfortable telling him this, but I can trust him. 

"Ok then, let me call Lillie and Ash then." Darrin replies. 

"Don't you dare call Ash." I feel my body temperature rising, but I hold it in. I do not want to get mad at him, he not understand anyways.

"Sorry, I did not mean it that way." He looks defeated and sits down at the kitchen table.

"I know you did not mean it that way, I just had a falling out with Ash as friends." I try not to cry.

"Sorry to hear that Serena." He looks down not wanting to see her eyes.
