✧Prologue✧
Why is this happening?
"As decided by the Hero Public Safety Commission..."
What did she ever do?
"Cupido Izanami, daughter of the head of the villainous Cupido family, is to abide by the following conditions in order to avoid being sentenced to life in Tartarus."
Why is she being treated like the bad guy?
"Mrs. Cupido is to become a hero and be under watch for her actions."
Didn't she do what you all failed at?
"Mrs. Cupido is to be on watch even when off duty."
She helped so many people and yet...
"In addition, her husband, Tsuiteru Hikaru will be held responsible if his wife were to do anything unbefitting of a hero."
Yet you're treating us all like villains.
"Finally, their daughter, Tsuiteru Machiko is to become a student of U.A when she becomes of age and placed under watch."
Ah... I get it...
"The contract has been signed, you're free to go." A member of the safety commission had walked up to a beautiful woman with long purple hair and matching purple eyes undid the cuffs on her wrists. Finally free from her restraints, the woman gently massages her wrists and smiled at the member but was met with a stern look. She decided to ignore it and instead walked towards her family. In front of her with a relieved smile was a man with red-pink hair and gray eyes, holding out his left hand to the woman while his right was occupied.
"Machiko, Hikaru, I'm home." Izanami said, kissing the cheek of the man, whose name was revealed to be Hikaru.
"Welcome home, though we're not exactly home yet," Hikaru said with a small chuckle before he noticed that someone was being too silent. "Machiko, what's wrong? Mama's home." Both of them looked down and saw a girl with long gradient hair that went from a bright purple to blue to a very dull pink with white stars was looking down at the ground, her bangs covering her eyes.
Izanami was concerned for the small girl and knelt in front of her, gently cupping a cheek. "Machiko?"
"...don't want..."
"Eh?" Both parents looked at each other before looking at the girl again. The girl finally looked up and her parent's eyes widened seeing eyes that were such a light gray they were practically white look dull and lifeless.
"Heroes, sidekicks, civilians, and villains. That's all anyone can see or be." The girl, named Machiko said. "Aren't heroes supposed to fight for everyone? When did it become like this? When did it become a popularity contest? Why does your quirk and your past determine who you are? Why is that, mama... papa?" Machiko asked. Her parents looked at each other unsure of what to say. When quirks were discovered everyone dreamt of becoming a hero, things that could only be read or seen in worlds of fiction could become true... but it wasn't for everyone. There was no answer and that angered her. After everything she has witnessed, Machiko knew of one thing.
"I don't want to be a hero..."
