Jedi temple
Anakin and I ran through the elegant hall of the Senate building to say goodbye to Padme. Outside the windows, speeders raced by with drivers and passengers. We stopped in front of a door flanked by a guard. "Can I help?" "We're here to see Padme." I replied uncertainly. The guard blinked at us and spoke into his comlink, while we looked around a bit nervously. "The boys are here to see Padme. "
"Let them enter!" With those words, the door opened and we both entered the Queen's quarters. "I'm sorry, Ani, Timmy, but Padme is not here at the moment." A maid greeted us,as two other servants appeared and went into the next room. "Who is it?" The queen spoke from the next room."Anakin and Timothee Skywalker. They are here to see Padme, Your Highness."
The queen stepped into the doorway and regarded us closely. Anakin and I bowed politely. "I've sent Padme on anerrand." The queen told us. "We're on our way to the Jedi Temple to begin training...I hope." I explained to the two women, as Anakin had remained silent. "We may never see her again. That's when we wanted to say goodbye to her."
"Yes."Anakin murmured hastily in agreement, nodding. " We will tell her. We are sure her heart will be with you." The queen said, and Irecognized the dismissal in her voice, so we bowed again. "Thank you, Your Highness." The queen disappeared back through the entrance and Anakin and I walked down the hall to the Jedi Temple.
As we arrived at a landing pad where we were told to wait, a transporter landed. Qui-Gon,Maven and Obi Wan got out and gestured for us to follow them. I looked at three of them questioningly. Qui-Gon put a hand on my shoulder. " The Jedi Council has agreed to test you." He explained gently.
The three of them led us from the transporter to another building, the Jedi Temple. When Anakin and I first entered the building, we were both overwhelmed with awe. The halls were fairly quiet, lined with clean red carpets, with gold and huge stone statues over the entrance. "Wow." I breathed a sigh of amazement. We five walked down a series of aisles. I did what I could to memorize each turn.
When we reached a set of rounddoors, I realized it must be the council chamber. Qui-Gon stopped and leaned down to Anakin and me. "You will go in first, Anakin. Then you will go in after he's done, Timothee." He explained to us before Anakin entered the room. "Obi Wan and Maven will wait here with you." Qui-Gon said, and left without question.
We waited a few minutes until the doors opened and Anakin came out with a smile on his face. "Watch out, they have a few screws loose!" "Uh thanks?" I replied and now entered the room. "Hello." I said and looked closely at the people. The council consisted not only of human Jedi, but also of strange beings in different colors and a more than strange appearance.
While I stared stiffly at the room full of members all staring back at me observing me, as humiliating and awkward as that was, a man who seemed to be in charge sat forward in his chair with his hands folded across his knees as he looked at me with cold eyes. "Please step forward." He instructed and I immediately did as I was told.
"I am Master Mace Windu." He introduced himself. He was a tall, dark-skinned man. He had a chiseled chin and a stern look. Windu was completely bald and his arms were folded. He had long, dark brown robes that matched his skin tone and lighter ones underneath. Hanging from his waist was a silver and black lightsaber hilt. In his hand he held a small portable screen. He looked so powerful and intimidating as a Jedi.
"You do realize you are older than the typical training age for a youngling do you not?" "Yes, sir." I said in atrembling voice as I just stood startlingly in the middle of the room. I trembled slightly as my hands fell at my side and I glanced at some of the faces, all of which were fixing their gazes on me.
"Master Yoda, I am." A creature told me with a scratchy voice. Yoda, the head of the Jedi Council, was a small, wrinkled and old green alien whose species I did not know. He also had tufts of white hair surrounding the back of his head, giving him a strange crown-like expression. He was small and about half a meter tall. He had claws on his fingers and toes and his light brown robes seemed to be specially tailored to fit his small form.
"Your name young one, what is?" Yoda asked me in a funny manner that I slightly frowned at never having heard someone speak in a manner as he did."Timothee Skywalker, sir." I answered in a small but respectful."You're from Tatooine, yes?" Yoda asked me again."Yes, sir." I said quietly with a nod as bit my lip nervously.
Yoda hummed for a moment before nodding at Master Windu who looking up at me."You will now be tested to see if you should even qualify to be trained. All you have to do is tell us what appears on the screen. However, you will not be shown the screen. You must use your instincts through the Force to tell us what appears."He explained.I nodded, closed my eyes for a second and took a deep breath.
Suddenly, a ship appeared in front of my mind's eye. I opened my eyes again and squinted them a little. "A ship." I finally said, to which Windu nodded a little. " A cup." I said right after that and blinked a few times. "A ship." I said again. The eyes of all the council members were watching my every move intently, hanging on all the words I said. "A speeder." I said before all the images disappeared.
Mace Windu turned off the screen and nodded towards Yoda "How are you feeling?" He asked me, making me think. "Cold, sir." I replied, goosebumps on my arms proving it. "Afraid are you?"He continued to ask. I swallowed a little as I looked around quickly. "No.sir." I replied in a shaky voice.
"See through you we can." He replied, my brows furrowing a little as I tried to figure out what he meant. "Be mindful of your feelings."Mace said , my eyes on him. I nodded once in understanding. "Your thoughts dwell on your mother." A old Jedi said who had not yet spoken. I felt my stomach clench when the Jedi Master mentioned my mother. I bit my lips. "I miss her."
"Afraid to los her I think, huh?" Yoda asked me again, making me nod. "What does that got to do with anything?" I asked almost angrily. "Everything!" He began gruffly. " Fear is the path to the Dark Side. Fear leads to anger. Anger leads to hate. Hate leads to suffering." I shivered. The words sounded strangely familiar and sent shivers down my spine. A heavy silence spread. " I sense much fear in you."
After the council tested me, Anakin,Qui-Gon, Obi Wan and Maven also entered the room. "The Force is strong in them." Began Mace Windu to explain, to which Anakin and I strained enormously. "So they're being trained?" Qui-Gon asked, the hope in his voice high. "Anakin is trained, but Timothee is not."
"No?" He asked, almost shocked. "He is too old." Mace Windu replied him. He was clearly lying because Anakin and I were the same age. For some reason, they were trying to hide the real reason why they didn't want to train me. However, Qui-Gon didn't think much of it. "He is the chosen one, just like his brother. You must see it!" He complained to them. The chosen ones? Anakin and I looked curiously at each other
"Cloudes this boy's future is." Yoda spoke up. "Then I will train him!" Qui-Gon put his hands on my shoulder and pulled me to him. "I take Timothee Skywalker as my Padawan learner!" "An apprentice you have, Qui-Gon. Impossible to take on a second." Yoda objected. "The Code forbids it." Mace Windu added. "Obi Wan is ready."
"I am ready to face the trials." Obi Wan agreed with his master and ran forward. "Our own counsel we will keep on who is ready!" Yoda contradicted the two. "He is headstrong, and he has much to learn of the living Force, but he is capable. There is little more he can learn from me."
Yoda heaved a sigh and lifted his head again to look at us. "The young Skywalker's fates will be decided later." He determined, which Obi Wan,Maven and Qui-Gon had to put up with willy-nilly. "Now is not the time for this. The senate is voting for a new supreme chancellor, and Queen Amidala is returning home, which will put pressure on the Federation and could widen the confrontation." "And draw out the Queen's attacker." Kia Adi Mundi added.
"Go with the Queen to Naboo and discover the identity of this dark warrior. This is the clue we need to unravel the mystery of the Sith. " Windu urged the three Jedi, informing them of the next mission. "May the Force be with you."
The five of us bowed and were about to leave when we heard the voice from Yoda. "Master Palpatine..." The Jedi immediately turned to him and glared."Not you. We have something to discuss before you leave on your next mission..." Maven swallowed a little. He became uncertain, but walked back to the center while Qui-gon, Obi-Wan, Anakin and I left the room.
