You'll start in your home on the outskirts of Pallet Town. Your dad will call up from downstairs, reminding you that you are needed. You are in no rush, but going down will trigger more of the cutscene. He'll explain that the professor stopped by looking and to tell you that she needs you at the lab. You'll then head out and to town. Just follow the path until you see houses. Then go to the lab and enter. You'll meet your rival, Amber, there.

Daisy, the professor, will be there as well. She'll thank you for coming before offering you both a Starter (That you don't need to take but can) and a Pokedex (You have no choice). Then she'll tell you to head home, tell your parents (in your case, father) and then meet her in Viridian City.

Your Father will be thrilled that you are going on a journey and will give you three things: Your starter (That you chose last chapter), your bag and phone. After that, you can run right out of there and head for Viridian City.

Upon arriving, Daisy will be at the center. She'll explain a little bit before she leads you back to route 1 for your pokemon catching tutorial. This will be different from the others. She will ask you to enter a battle with the Ratata before directing you. She'll have you hit then use a pokeball. Afterwards, she'll bring you back to the city, explain a bit more and wish you farewell. Then you can either walk around or head for Pewter City.

(Note, You are allowed to go and catch pokemon. You have 10 pokeballs from Daisy.)

Once you enter, Amber will ask for a battle. Whether you grabbed a starter from Daisy or not, she'll have an Eevee for the battle. Nothing special, beat her, get her number, then you can head for the gym.

Brock will have his typical set up; Geodude and Onix. If you've battled him before, you know how this game is played. If not, fire Water and Grass at him and he'll fall.

Afterwards, you can look around or head for Cerulean City.

Once you arrive, nothing special will happen. Gym will be closed, but you'll get a call after leaving the Center. Amber tracked down Misty and Gym's open for you. Perfect.

Again, same situation. Her team (Since she loves shifting in the other games) is Psyduck and Starmie. Grass and Electric will do great, but use whatever you wish.

After that, it's recommended you head for the center. You can't head for Vermilion or anywhere until you do. This is because upon entering, you'll suddenly blackout, starting the next part of the game.
