Freya's POV:
I take a step forward, aiming both of my hands at Brainwave and blast the surge of energy, but a forcefield instantly forms in front of him.
Courtney fires from her staff as well but I look back to Rick and Henry. "I can't keep this on for long, hurry!" I grunt, holding the blast towards Brainwave.
Rick tries to pry the bars again but this time Henry lifts his hands. "How about an assist?" Henry offered and Rick nods.
A wave of energy surrounds the two bars and Rick pulls them apart with Henry's help from his telekinetic powers.
I turn back around, fixing my stance which caused the surge of my blasts to emit brighter.
"If you were truly on the ISA's side," I hear Brainwave's voice echo through my mind, feeling the pricks of pain ripple across my head. "you'd have joined me by now."
"Move it!" I hear Henry say and I briefly turn, seeing Rick step through the opening.
"Not stand side by side with Stargirl. With the Justice Society of America." He continued, causing a loud ring to pierce through my hearing. "You're a traitor."
Something trickles down from my ears but I push my hands forward more. "Nngh!" I accidentally let out a grunt.
"Freya, you need to go now!" Courtney shouts but I shake my head.
"I can hold him off, you go!" She quickly shakes her head. "I said go, Court!" She groans and stops the blast from her staff before she quickly steps through.
"Freya, you're next." Henry calls out.
"I'm not going...until everyone goes!" I grunt, pushing my hands forward again which caused a ripple to flow through the blast as the ringing in my ear rang louder. "Agh!"
The next thing I knew, something levitates me from the floor and I'm thrown through the opening in which I collapse on my back. I frantically look up and see the bars bend back to shape where Henry couldn't step inside.
"No!" I grunt as I push myself up from the ground. "Rick, pull the bars again!"
He grabs the bars with his hands again and tries to pry them open, but they remained still.
"Chuck? Chuck, can you hear me?" Beth frantically tapped on her goggles.
"You're misdirected, but you're strong, Henry." Brainwave's voice echoed through my mind once more, almost as if he purposefully wanted me to hear their conversation. "That's good."
A wave of green energy strikes through Henry until it stopped by the metal bars which causes him to cry out in pain and rest on his knee.
"Stand back!" Yolanda yells as she pushed us out of the way with her claws extended. She slashes left and right with her claws but to her shock, the bars still held together.
The same wave that Brainwave created rippled through the bars, revealing the forcefield.
Henry straightens his posture and clenched his fists, letting out a scream which created another wave of energy to strike through Brainwave. He stumbles back a little but catches himself so he wouldn't fall.
"Dad...listen to me." Henry grunted as he stood up from his spot to take a step closer to him but Yolanda continued to slash the metal bars while Rick threw punches beside her. "I know what these powers did to you. How they warped what you believed in...but people aren't monsters."
I shake my head with a glare. "Move!" I growl and push my way through the front before I aim my hands towards the bars and blast the surges of energy while Courtney did the same with her staff.
"I don't want to fight you." Henry shook his head as he took another step. "I love you." Rick and Yolanda continued their attacks on the metal bars, the sounds of grunts escaping from them.
"And I love you. Let me train you. The power, Henry, you have no idea--"
"No." Henry took another step. "You're better than this. Mom knew you could be good. She believed in you! I know you loved her." He tearfully spoke. "And I know Jordan killed her because she saw the good in you, too."
"Junior." He took a step closer to him before he cleared his throat. "Jordan didn't kill your mother...I did."
My eyes widen as I stopped my attacks along with the others. "No..."
"You?" Henry meekly asked.
"I had to make a choice. Don't make me choose again, son." Brainwave stated harshly. "Stand by my side, now...or not at all."
"I will never stand by your side." Henry gritted through his teeth.
He grunts, slowly lifting his hands which caused pieces of the floor to rise as they circled him. He angrily aims his hands at his father and the rocks instantly fly towards him.
Before they could hit Brainwave, they abruptly stop in front of him which caused my eyes to widen. "Goodbye, son."
A wave of energy and rocks hurl towards Henry and instantly he's thrown backward. His back slams against the metal bars and falls hard to the ground with a groan.
"Henry!" Courtney cries out.
The pipes above us begin to squeak, my eyes widening in the realization that Brainwave was going to collapse the ceiling on top of him.
"Chuck, come on! Come in!" I hear Beth plead while everyone else desperately tried to destroy the metal bars.
"Henry, get up!" Rick angrily shouted, throwing punch after punch at the bars.
"Henry!" I urge through my thoughts as I shook the metal bars."This isn't worth sacrificing yourself over!"
Henry shakily turns to us which causes Yolanda to stop her attacks, her eyes brimming with tears. "I am sorry." He softly spoke to her as he weakly tried to push his body off the floor, holding himself up by his hands before he looked to Courtney with a small smile. "You're right. People are good. Don't let this change your mind."
"Henry..." Courtney whispered with a saddened expression.
"Henry, please." I continue to plead through my thoughts. "Join the ISA and I promise we'll figure out what to do about your father, please!"
Henry looks to me next and instantly the sound of a ring echoes through my mind. "I don't need to be like them to survive and neither do you." He weakly spoke. "My dad put the mind block. Stay in the JSA."
I crouch down to his level, feeling my eyes brim with tears. "I can't. They'll--"
"Yes, you can." He weakly pleaded, but the ceiling above us starts to crack which causes me to frantically glance between him and the ceiling. "You're a hero, Freya...take care of her for me, will you?"
Before I could say anything else, the ceiling collapses on top of Henry which causes me to stumble away.
I cover my eyes from the dust, wincing at the sound of the rocks that crashed on top of each other.
I slowly push myself up from the floor, seeing the pile of debris that covered the entire tunnel with Brainwave no longer in sight.
Yolanda lets out a choked sob and leans to hide her face against my chest and I slowly wrap my arms around her, never taking my stares away from the rubble.

After we left the tunnels, I had a feeling Yolanda wanted to go home first but since her house was the furthest from everyone else, I offered to fly her home while Rick drove Beth and Courtney home.
It was completely silent as I flew us but for some reason, I couldn't shake this sense of guilt from my shoulders.
If I would've stopped being so stubborn about staying undercover, maybe I could have convinced Brainwave to stop. Maybe Henry would have still been alive. Yolanda wouldn't have had to witness her ex-boyfriend dying in front of her.
I shake my head, ridding the thoughts and carefully descend us near the side of her house.
I carefully help Yolanda to her bedroom window then let go of her hand once she fully steps inside.
I watch as she took the cowl off from her head and shoved it under her bed. "Thanks for the ride." She rasps.
I nod but took notice of her grim expression as she took a seat on her bed and looked down at her hands. "Do you want to be alone?" I softly ask.
She stays silent for a moment until she shook her head and she looks up, tears brimming her eyes again. "Can you stay? At least for a little bit?"
"You're a hero, Freya...take care of her for me, will you?" Henry's words echo through my thoughts.
Snap out of it, Freya.
I quietly step through her window before I take off my helmet which instantly shifts my clothes back to normal and I place it on her bench before I take a seat next to her.
She sadly shakes her head with a sniffle. "Why him?" She whispered. "All he wanted was to save his dad, even after all that he did to him. He still wanted to save him but he killed Henry."
I wrap an arm around her and pull her closer to me as she lets out a sob and leaned her head against my chest. "I'm sorry."
"I'm just...sad that it feels like he died for nothing. I can't help but think it was my fault. "
Why would she blame herself for this?
I pull away from the embrace. "Hey, he didn't die for nothing. None of us could have predicted that." She sadly shakes her head but I lift her chin so her eyes would lock with mine. "I'm serious, Yolanda. We could've been captured by Brainwave and the rest of the Injustice Society but Henry made sure we made it out. He wouldn't want you to blame yourself."
"I know but...I can't help but feel guilty about it."
I brush the tear away from her eye. "That guilt you're feeling is there to remind you that the love was real. To continue for the people they killed so we can stop the Injustice Society. To finish this." I emphasized and hold my pinky up. "For Henry, Joey, Rick's parents, all the people that deserve justice. No matter the risks."
Her eyes flicker down for a moment until she wraps her pinky around mine. "No matter the risks." She softly repeats.
Even my talk with Yolanda, the advice alone didn't convince me. If anything, it was all my fault.
The lying, the scheming, the friendships I built within the team...all of it just so I could be in the Injustice Society.
What have I done?

I ended up staying at Courtney's place after I left Yolanda's. I couldn't stop thinking about what Henry told me moments before he died.
The ISA were lying to me but about what? What were they lying to me about? Why would they have a mindblock in my head? Was it about who my actual parents were?
With those questions circulating my mind, I didn't feel comfortable enough to stay in my house so I ended up sleeping over at Courtney's place.
"Brainwave murdered his own son last night." Ms. Whitmore exasperated as she paced back and forth in the basement. "I mean, there has to be someone we can call. Like the police."
"They could own the police, Barbara." Pat answered, putting some of his things in the garage inside some boxes.
I sat across from Courtney who solemnly stared at the crate that had her Cosmic Staff.
"How about the government?" Ms. Whitmore suggested again, breaking my thoughts.
"We don't know who's listening in." Pat gestured around us. "We make the wrong move now, we could get someone killed or lead the ISA straight here."
"Okay, so what do we do?" She crossed her arms. "What about Brainwave?"
"Henry said his dad lost his memory but...I don't know anymore." Courtney rasped, briefly looking at Pat and her mom before she looked back at the crate.
"Just take Courtney and leave. Like you wanted to. Pack up what you need and go." Pat pointed to Courtney and the boxes around them.
"Knowing these guys killed a boy? And then Jordan's planning to hurt people and we leave without warning anyone?" Ms. Whitmore listed off until she scoffed. "And what about you, Pat, and Mike?"
"Take Mike." He softly answered.
"I'm not gonna let you stay here alone." She argued.
"Then until you decide to leave, you both need to go about your day as if everything were normal." Pat countered with a small shrug.
"You should listen to him." I say, gaining their attention as I stood up from my spot. "If Jordan even senses that you guys suspect anything, he'll come after you guys and won't hesitate to kill you."
Before she could answer, the doorbell upstairs rings which causes all of us to look up towards the basement door.
"It's not even seven." I hear Ms. Whitmore whisper which caused Courtney to turn towards her with confusion.
"Yo, you down here?" Mike called out as he came down the steps with a brown satchel for the mail.
"Hey, Mike. I thought you were asleep." Pat spoke as Ms. Whitmore awkwardly smiled.
"Paper route. Your idea, not mine." Mike pointed to his father with an eye-roll before he let out a sigh. "Anyway, uh, there's someone upstairs looking for you, Court."
Ms. Whitmore and Pat head upstairs first with Mike trailing behind and Courtney was about to walk up the stairs as well but I grab her wrist.
She furrowed her brows in confusion. "What?"
"I didn't get the chance after we came home last night to ask how you were doing." I say as I released the grip on her wrist. "Last night was a lot for everyone."
"It hurts, of course, but...I'm also worried about Brainwave coming after us." She crossed her arms with discomfort. "Has Yolanda texted you?"
I blink. "Why would she text me?"
She shrugged. "I don't know. I'd assume she would text you first because of how close you guys are."
"We're not--you know what, let's just see who's at the door." I say, nudging her to walk to the stairs. "We're talking about this later."
